Drop Down Box; Automatically Fill All The Information Into Address Column
Oct 23, 2008
I have inserted the sheet. As you can see in Sheet 1 I have the Store, Address, Town etc, I would like a drop down box in D13 ( Store Name ) so when I select a store it will automatically fill all the info into D15:D19 Address, Town etc. The info will be pulled from Sheet 2.

I would like to automatically color fill a series of rows based on like information from a single column. When the information in the column changes then the rows would either stop filling (this would be best) or fill with a different color until the information changes again.
Summary: series of alternating rows would either be filled or unfilled based on changes from the column information.
Hope this isn't too confusing. Below is an example except I would want the cells filled, not the text or numbers to change. The highlight is changing based on the changing of the numbers.
ABCD 12345
ABD 12345
ABCD 12349
ABDF 12349
ABCD 12358
ABF 12358

I have created a spreadsheet that I must fill out daily. this worksheet has averages that must be automtically shared with a "master" worksheet.
for example
information from sheet2!b23
information from sheet3!b23
information from sheet4!b23
etc...
must automatically be transfered to
sheet1!c6
sheet1!c7
sheet1!c8
etc...
in that order
at this time I am typing in =sheet2!b23 on sheet1 everytime, I want to avoid this.
If you are asking yourself why? I dont blame you but it needs be this way so I can average each days spreadsheet.

I'm wondering if it is possible to make a table where I can just enter the reference number and excel can fill up the remaining cells with data specific to the reference number from a website. What I mean is that I would like to put in company registration number and hopefully it will be able to pull in other data from companies house website about the company.

I have three lists in the first sheet 'Food', 'Quantity', 'Points Value'
Each food (i.e. tuna, pasta, anchovies) has a quantity (i.e. 40g) and a points value (i.e. '50'). The first list ('Food') has been copied as a drop down list in the second sheet. When selecting a food, I would like the cells 'quantity' and 'points value' to pre-fill - taking the data from the first sheet.
i.e. if say Anchovies has the quantity value '30g' and Points Value '2' on the first sheet, then in the second sheet if anchovies was selected from the drop-down menu, these values would add themselves. how to do this? I have attached a sample file shwoing what I want to do.

I am kind of new to Excel programming and would like to know if there is a solution to my problem. What I need is to have a dropdown list (I know how to make this) then select an item from the drop down, then based on the name i select, Excel automatically fill up the rest of the cells.
For example, from the drop down list I select the company name then Excel automatically type the address, phone number, Fax number and the contact name of the company for me in corresponding cells. Is there a way to do this?

I'm working on making a spreadsheet that allows me to select an item type from a dropdown list (through validation) and then would copy in a range of values from another worksheet based on my dropdown selection.
The set-up: I am primarily concerned with two sheets in my workbook, BiS and Weights. I have a database of items and their associated values listed in Weights. I have already managed to get dropdown lists of my specific item types using named lists and have put that in the BiS worksheet.
What I would like to do is have the values in the Weights worksheet copied over in the same order and number of cells based on what item I select from the dropdown list.

I am trying to have some automation to my WS and what I want to do, is if a certain column (column 104) is changed, it will fill out that column with the data entered as long as the account is the same (column 5). Here is the code I tried, but realized very quickly, it puts me into a loop. This is being called by a change worksheet fuction
If Target.Column = 104 Then
If IsEmpty(Target) Then
Else
testacct = Cells(Target.Row, 5)
temptest = testacct
s_TempSwitch = Target.Value
Testoffset = 0
Do While temptest = testacct
temptest = Cells(Target.Row + Testoffset, 5)
Cells(Target.Row + Testoffset, 104).Value = s_TempSwitch
Testoffset = Testoffset + 1
Loop
End If
End If

I had a situation where address information for a set of contacts was either on 2 or 3 rows depending on whether there was a Suite/Apartment number....meaning City, ST Zip might be on the 2nd or the 3rd row.
Since I couldn't think of another way, I opted to append it all together to start, meaning now my addresses would be, for example: 100 Main Street #200 Annoyance, SD 57000
Of course the ideal would be to have street address in one column, city st zip in the next (or next 3) column
My thought was there should be a way to find the first space prior to the comma, and split there....but it's eluding me

I am not sure if this is possible but I am trying to extract information from a spreadsheet, the problem is that i need only the postcode but this is in a line with the rest of the address as follows:
123 street, town, AB1 2CD
Is this possible as i need to do this for 1000's so doing it individually will take forever!

I need the sheet to list the dates in a column for each month automatically: e.g. Two cells contain date “jan07” and the period “10” months. The rows A1 to A10 should have jan07…jan16 listed automatically. If I change then change the number of month to 11 I would like the rows A1 to A11 to update automatically.

i have just finished filling out a 2000 line spreadsheet, on this spread sheet i had a customer number i then had to look up the customer number on our old database to retrieve the address for the customer. Is there any way that for future spreadsheet's i can input the customer number and it will auto fill the address of that customer ?
the columns on my sheet are:
customer A/C number
Customer Name
Customer Address line 1
Customer Address line 2
Customer Address line 3
Postcode
it would save me hours and hours of time digging through the database again.

I created a drop down list of contacts for specific accounts:
Primary
Second
Third
Fourth
When I click on each one, I want in adjacent individual cells their name, address, phone, and email. The results should only show up in the same row as per list choice.
This drop down list applies to 20+ accounts so each contact info corresponds to the accounts.
A E F G H I
So: Account... Contact Name Address Phone Email
(DropList)
And do that for all the accounts.

I'm trying to categorise a load of expenses against their appropriate budget and sub-budgets. I've got all the budget subcategories in separate dynamic named lists each headed by the main budget name. I want to be able to select the main budget name e.g. marketing or sales etc and then see, in the next column over, only the appropriate subcategories to select from e.g pick the appropriate dynamic list (I've used dynamic lists so I have some flexibility to add new categories at a leter date).

I have a 5 row list in WA2. Each row holds its data across 3 columns i.e A1description, B1 product code, C1 unit cost. In WA1 I want to have a drop down table in cell B3 that looks at this range and then populates this information into B3, C3 and C4. I have tried data validation but it keeps telling me that it can only look at a single row or single column

Imagine I have 2 columns of information that look like this:
Column A
Column B
AS
Dog
AS
Cat
AS
Hamster
FT
Fish
These are my key columns. The letters are initials of people and the animals are the pets they're responsible for.
Now, I have 3 more columns that look like this:
Column D
Column E
Column F
These columns can go on for hundreds of rows.
What I want to do is pull out the information from columns D, E and F where the initials and pet match those in the key list, then paste that elsewhere (say to columns J, K and L).
So, for instance, the first entry would be copied across because, according to the key list, AS is responsible for a Dog, but the bottom entry for AS wouldn't because he was looking after a fish, and that pet isn't listed as one of his animals in the key list (Fish is listed alongside FT). Likewise, the entry for AH wouldn't come across because AH doesn't appear on the key list at all.

I have been helping a friend keep track of his clients, by making a form for them to fill out when they become a client of his (he owns a care rental) and I made a spread sheet for him to keep track of which cars are out when...
With that said, I would really like to have a Macro that i could run, when the form with all the personal information about hte client had been filled out - take that information and pull it over into another spead sheet that keeps track of all clients.
Meaning that workbook 1 is set up as a booking form and workbook two is just a normal list. I can make a macro that pulls over the infomation - but the problem is that it will always pull the information into row 1. Meaning that it overwrites itself each time I run it. I would like the Macro to know that it has to fill the information into the next empty row.

What I want to do is lets say in the drop down menu I have options Food, sports, Movies. now if I select Sports then it should give me a sub caterory options like baseball, hockey, football and not the options for food & movies as well - so as to make the choices lesser and more user friendly. How do I create that - is it too tough - I am a novice in excel. Can you upload an example sheet with tips on how you did it. I have uploaded an example.

I use the GetObjects function to gain access to the properties of a mailbox and want to fill out a table with some detail information. The code works fine until I have a mailbox which name has an apostrophe included.
Set o = getobjects("winMgmts:!\VS1
ootMicrosoftExchangeV2:Exchange_Mailbox.LegacyDN='/O=TEST/OU=TEST/cn=Recipients/cn=co'brien',MailboxGUID='{59A40254-9F12-4502-9A03-3FB5CB0BBD38}',ServerName='VS1',StorageGroupName='sg1',StoreName='mb1'")
I highlighted the section that causes the problem. The string within the string is encapsulated in apostrophes, hence the apostrophe in the mailbox name co'brien confuses the code and raises an error. Microsoft provides a solution by using escape characters, but that seems to work only in vbscript, not in vba. Here is a link to Microsoft's solution:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scr...4/hey1217.mspx
I tried some workarounds that are being used for a similiar problem with SQL statements as well, but again without success - these are the versions I tried:
co/'brien
co'brien
co''brien

Is there a way to have a drop-down list fill two columns (actually, two adjacent cells) when a selection is made from the drop-down list? Maybe using an array in the source formula?
For instance, let's say I pick a doctor from the drop down list, I would like the doctor's practice to automatically fill the cell next it so that the two always go together correctly. In the lists example below, when I select Dr. Elmer in column A, then I want Internal Medecine Associates to go in column B.
MD Practice
Dr. BartholomewCentral Endocrine Specialists
Dr. Elmer Internal Medicine Associates
Dr. StamfordCardiology Associates
