Drop Down Box; Automatically Fill All The Information Into Address Column
I have inserted the sheet. As you can see in Sheet 1 I have the Store, Address, Town etc, I would like a drop down box in D13 ( Store Name ) so when I select a store it will automatically fill all the info into D15:D19 Address, Town etc. The info will be pulled from Sheet 2.

Automatically Color Fill Rows Based On Changing Column Information
I would like to automatically color fill a series of rows based on like information from a single column. When the information in the column changes then the rows would either stop filling (this would be best) or fill with a different color until the information changes again.
Summary: series of alternating rows would either be filled or unfilled based on changes from the column information.
Hope this isn't too confusing. Below is an example except I would want the cells filled, not the text or numbers to change. The highlight is changing based on the changing of the numbers.
Automatically Fill Information Across Worksheets
I have created a spreadsheet that I must fill out daily. this worksheet has averages that must be automtically shared with a "master" worksheet.
information from sheet2!b23
information from sheet3!b23
information from sheet4!b23
must automatically be transfered to
in that order
at this time I am typing in =sheet2!b23 on sheet1 everytime, I want to avoid this.
If you are asking yourself why? I dont blame you but it needs be this way so I can average each days spreadsheet.
Drop Down Box Color Fill
Is there a way to color fill a drop down box in Excel 2003? I have a workbook where info is flilled in on the first sheet, affecting the remaining sheets.
I want all areas that need input on that first sheet to be color filled in Yellow.
Automatically Fill Data Depending On Choice From Drop-down Menu
I have three lists in the first sheet 'Food', 'Quantity', 'Points Value'
Each food (i.e. tuna, pasta, anchovies) has a quantity (i.e. 40g) and a points value (i.e. '50'). The first list ('Food') has been copied as a drop down list in the second sheet. When selecting a food, I would like the cells 'quantity' and 'points value' to pre-fill - taking the data from the first sheet.
i.e. if say Anchovies has the quantity value '30g' and Points Value '2' on the first sheet, then in the second sheet if anchovies was selected from the drop-down menu, these values would add themselves. how to do this? I have attached a sample file shwoing what I want to do.
Select An Item From Drop Down List And Automatically Fill A Number Of Cells
I am kind of new to Excel programming and would like to know if there is a solution to my problem. What I need is to have a dropdown list (I know how to make this) then select an item from the drop down, then based on the name i select, Excel automatically fill up the rest of the cells.
For example, from the drop down list I select the company name then Excel automatically type the address, phone number, Fax number and the contact name of the company for me in corresponding cells. Is there a way to do this?
Automatically Fill In Column When Certain Cell In Column Changed
I am trying to have some automation to my WS and what I want to do, is if a certain column (column 104) is changed, it will fill out that column with the data entered as long as the account is the same (column 5). Here is the code I tried, but realized very quickly, it puts me into a loop. This is being called by a change worksheet fuction
If Target.Column = 104 Then
If IsEmpty(Target) Then
testacct = Cells(Target.Row, 5)
temptest = testacct
s_TempSwitch = Target.Value
Testoffset = 0
Do While temptest = testacct
temptest = Cells(Target.Row + Testoffset, 5)
Cells(Target.Row + Testoffset, 104).Value = s_TempSwitch
Testoffset = Testoffset + 1
Fill Table Based On An Drop-Down Choice In 1st Column
I'm working on making a spreadsheet that allows me to select an item type from a dropdown list (through validation) and then would copy in a range of values from another worksheet based on my dropdown selection.
The set-up: I am primarily concerned with two sheets in my workbook, BiS and Weights. I have a database of items and their associated values listed in Weights. I have already managed to get dropdown lists of my specific item types using named lists and have put that in the BiS worksheet.
What I would like to do is have the values in the Weights worksheet copied over in the same order and number of cells based on what item I select from the dropdown list.
Extracting Information (post Codes From Whole Address)
I am not sure if this is possible but I am trying to extract information from a spreadsheet, the problem is that i need only the postcode but this is in a line with the rest of the address as follows:
123 street, town, AB1 2CD
Is this possible as i need to do this for 1000's so doing it individually will take forever!
Auto Fill Address
i have just finished filling out a 2000 line spreadsheet, on this spread sheet i had a customer number i then had to look up the customer number on our old database to retrieve the address for the customer. Is there any way that for future spreadsheet's i can input the customer number and it will auto fill the address of that customer ?
the columns on my sheet are:
customer A/C number
Customer Address line 1
Customer Address line 2
Customer Address line 3
it would save me hours and hours of time digging through the database again.
Auto Fill Information Into A Cell
i need to get some information (price) automatically put into another cell when an item from a drop down list is selected, i have attached a workbook to show what i need to do,,,basically if i choose an item from a list in cell a1,,i want cell b1 to show the price of the item,,,and the item is referenced from sheet 3 as well as the price.
Drop Down List And Multiple Information
I created a drop down list of contacts for specific accounts:
When I click on each one, I want in adjacent individual cells their name, address, phone, and email. The results should only show up in the same row as per list choice.
This drop down list applies to 20+ accounts so each contact info corresponds to the accounts.
A E F G H I
So: Account... Contact Name Address Phone Email
And do that for all the accounts.
Macro :: Fill The Information Into The Next Empty Row
I have been helping a friend keep track of his clients, by making a form for them to fill out when they become a client of his (he owns a care rental) and I made a spread sheet for him to keep track of which cars are out when...
With that said, I would really like to have a Macro that i could run, when the form with all the personal information about hte client had been filled out - take that information and pull it over into another spead sheet that keeps track of all clients.
Meaning that workbook 1 is set up as a booking form and workbook two is just a normal list. I can make a macro that pulls over the infomation - but the problem is that it will always pull the information into row 1. Meaning that it overwrites itself each time I run it. I would like the Macro to know that it has to fill the information into the next empty row.
Apostrophe: Fill Out A Table With Some Detail Information
I use the GetObjects function to gain access to the properties of a mailbox and want to fill out a table with some detail information. The code works fine until I have a mailbox which name has an apostrophe included.
Set o = getobjects("winMgmts:!\VS1
I highlighted the section that causes the problem. The string within the string is encapsulated in apostrophes, hence the apostrophe in the mailbox name co'brien confuses the code and raises an error. Microsoft provides a solution by using escape characters, but that seems to work only in vbscript, not in vba. Here is a link to Microsoft's solution:
I tried some workarounds that are being used for a similiar problem with SQL statements as well, but again without success - these are the versions I tried:
Drop Down Or Combo Box Instead Of Input Box
I currently have the following user inputbox that asks the user to enter the company name, of which it then copies the entered name to Cell E1 on the active sheet
Dim strName As String
strName = InputBox(Prompt:="You name please.", _
Title:="COMPANY NAME", Default:="Enter Company Name")
Range("E1") = strName
However, I would prefer it if there was a drop down list to select one of five pre-set company names without having the user to type the name out every time.
Link Drop Down List & Lookup Corresponding Information
I'm trying to categorise a load of expenses against their appropriate budget and sub-budgets. I've got all the budget subcategories in separate dynamic named lists each headed by the main budget name. I want to be able to select the main budget name e.g. marketing or sales etc and then see, in the next column over, only the appropriate subcategories to select from e.g pick the appropriate dynamic list (I've used dynamic lists so I have some flexibility to add new categories at a leter date).
Automatically Show Range Address Of Selection
does excel have a function or some kind of method where you can have it display the range of cells that you have selected? For example, if I highlight cells A5:G7 what would be the code for excel to display "A5:G7" in a message box? I need this to be dynamic, so the next time I select cells B3:T32, it needs to display "B3:T32."
How Do I Automatically Have Information Filter Into Existing Worksheets
I'm trying to build is a master Excel sheet for a company-wide budget tracker, where our supply person enters in information on individual orders. Those orders would be broken down in separate worksheets based upon department.
So, let's say you have three departments. Each department has an identifier code (Human Resources would have HR, Operations would have OP, and Research & Development would have RD.) Each order number is prefixed with the department's code, then the other columns deal with dates ordered and received, cost of the order, and any notes on the order.
What I'd like to be able to do is to have each order be automatically filtered out to secondary worksheets, based upon which department the order belonged to.
I have seen a macro that allowed one to push a button and break data out like that, but the problem is that it created new worksheets each time, and I want the department worksheets to stay the same (since each of those can expect to have starting budget figures updated by the supply officer.)
LOOKUP:: Pull Information From Elsewhere In The Sheet Automatically
I have created a spread sheet that uses the LOOKUP function to pull information from elsewhere in the sheet and automatically fill in a cell so that I can save time.
The spreadsheet has several columns with a single word or number but the column used for the lookup contains 2 words, 1 number and a “#” sign. I have used the “CONCATENATE” function to create a column that has all the words, the number and symbol and then my formula says to LOOKUP the value in the created column and return the number associated with that LOOKUP value. The problem is it will not give me the correct value. All cells with the formula return a value from the same row in the LOOKUP table no matter what the LOOKUP value..
I have used this exact same formula (copied and pasted it) in another place in the table with the LOOKUP information added by hand, not generated with the “CONCATENATE” function, and it works fine.
Auto Fill With One Of Two Drop Down Lists...?
I am trying to do this in several cells/several ways, looking for the generic formula, here is one example:
If User selects "Expenses" in
from drop down list of "Expenses" or "Income".
I want C3 to populate with drop down list - the words to choose from are listed in 'Expenses' B1:AI1
If User selects "income" in
from drop down list of "Expenses" or "Income".
I want C3 to populate with drop down list - the words to choose from are listed in 'Income' B3:AI3
Fill Drop Down Based On Choice From Another
What I want to do is lets say in the drop down menu I have options Food, sports, Movies. now if I select Sports then it should give me a sub caterory options like baseball, hockey, football and not the options for food & movies as well - so as to make the choices lesser and more user friendly. How do I create that - is it too tough - I am a novice in excel. Can you upload an example sheet with tips on how you did it. I have uploaded an example.
Extract Numbers, PO Box, RR# From Address
I have an excel spreadsheet database displaying 5.000 contact information such as my example below:
Title FirstName LastName Address
Mr adulted it is me 144 picton street e
Ms Moe Scally 1343 university court
What I am trying to do is put 144 in its own column to the left of address and the street name (picton street e) in its own column or the street name to the right of the address column.
Or as in the second example What I am trying to do is put 1343 in its own column to the left of address and the street name (university court) in its own column or the street name to the right of the address column.
In simple terms, this 5,000 enrties need to be sorted by street name only, exluding numbers, possible PO Box, or RR # 3, etc...
Information To Enter The Tables And Then Automatically Move Into The Next Available Cells Below
I am trying to use visual basic editor in excel. I have all ready set up my user form where information can be entered, but I ave having trouble getting the information that is entered in the user form into the correct cells in excel.
I am wanting my information to enter the tables and then automatically move into the next available cells below.
Private Sub cmdadd_Click()
Dim iRow As Long
Dim ws As Worksheet
Set ws = Worksheets("details of cars in stock")
iRow = ws.Cells(Rows.Count, 1) _
If Trim(Me.txtreg.Value) = "" Then
MsgBox "please enter a registraion number"
ws.Cells(iRow, 1).Value = Me.txtreg.Value
Me.txtreg.Value = ""
Extract And Use Information In A Comment Box
My user has data in a comment in a cell that provides additional information about the data in the cell. He does not want to have to retype that information into another spreadsheet but wants it to automatically populate.
Column Headings: A1 = Tardy; B1 = Absent; C1 = Detention
Data in the following cells: A2 = 2; B2 = 1; C2 = 3
Comments are: A2 = Smith - 10 min, Jones - 5 min; B2 = Adams - Sick; C2 = Brown - Talking, Green - Talking, Gray - Sleeping
He wants another workbook that has a column for each name in three separate tables, 1 each for Tardy, Absent, and Detention. He wants the Tardy table to show 10 min under Smith, 5 min under Jones, etc.
Is this at all possible? I will say that I tried to get him to change his spreadsheet so that he inputs the data into the three separate tables then summarizes it in the sheet he presently has but he cannot change the original sheet. It is a shared sheet by many of our office locations and changing it is not an option.
Ignore Information (Option) Box
an "Option Box"?
When I click a button, a row is copied and inserted. I think this is asking what to do about named ranges connected with the added row. Unfortunately, I have several named ranges, and several boxes pop up.
I would like to know how to add some code to the button to hide/ignore this barrage of boxes!
Drop-Down Lists: Can We Fill 2 Columns At The Same Time?
Is there a way to have a drop-down list fill two columns (actually, two adjacent cells) when a selection is made from the drop-down list? Maybe using an array in the source formula?
For instance, let's say I pick a doctor from the drop down list, I would like the doctor's practice to automatically fill the cell next it so that the two always go together correctly. In the lists example below, when I select Dr. Elmer in column A, then I want Internal Medecine Associates to go in column B.
Dr. BartholomewCentral Endocrine Specialists
Dr. Elmer Internal Medicine Associates
Dr. StamfordCardiology Associates
Auto Fill Based On Drop-down Choice
I'm working on a workbook that already exists and that contains multiple worksheets (A,B,C,D,...), each with specific info (each row consists of an item name (item 1, item 2, item3,...)and all characteristics of this item).
We now want to add a help page for each worksheet :
A => A help
B => B help
So for each item (=row) in sheet A, there should also be an according row with additional info in A help
First, I used static hyperlinks to switch from the item in A to the corresponding help in A help. However the item list can be extended in the future (meaning rows inserted) and this will cause these links to fail. Therefore I switched to dynamic hyperlinks by inserting names (in stead of the original cell names) for each item in both A and A help. This involves a lot of work since you have to give all the involved cells a unique name and you have to refer to this unique name when you set up the hyperlink.
Fill Table Using Drop Down List Data Selections
I have a couple of drop down lists of data created from lists as well as fields next to it.
What I want it to do is take that data, which is name, start time, end time, days worked, queue (or work type), and fill the table next to it which is just a 30 minute by 30 minute schedule sheet with days of week 1 and week 2 on top.
I figure it would be easier to have a GO button to do this.
I will attach an example of what I mean, but please, if you guys find that there is an easier way to do this, just let me know, I feel this might involve some code/macros instead of excel functions
Run Code To Fill Cells On Drop-down Change
I am busy with a project using VBA to populate a spreadsheet based upon the data entered into a particular cell. The problem that I am experiencing is that I populate the initial cell via a combo-box which I cannot exit unless I click elsewhere with my mouse. The code that I am using to populate the other cells is as follows
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal target As Range)
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
On Error Goto dump
Dim r As Range, MyRowNum As Long, ws1 As Worksheet, ws2 As Worksheet, strPriCode As Variant, _
strNAPPIE As Long, strSInCost As Currency, strSInDesc As String
Set ws1 = Worksheets("SINVOICE")
Set ws2 = Worksheets("STOCKIMP")
Set r = ws1.Range("B11:B35")
If Intersect(target, r) Is Nothing Then Exit Sub
If target > 0 Then....................
Drop Down List To Fill Adjoining Cell With Corresponding Data
I have a list of 688 codes in a column (lets say column A). e,g 23, AB, FX, NV, D8. Each code corresponds to a text In the next column (lets say column B) for example AA is the code for "Transmission". Using a clean spreadsheet and using a drop down list, I would like the cell to the right of the selected dropdown code, to automatically fill in the text of what the code corresponds to.
Auto Fill Cells Depending On Drop Down List Selection
I am trying to make a calendar spreadsheet to enable me to track allowance payments i am due from my company.
This payment is worked out by three conditions - where i am working (7 regions), how many days of the week (4,5,6 or7) and how many hours (<7,8-9 or 10-12)
I have made drop down lists to select each of the values for the three conditions and want to show the total for them
i can total the entire spreadheet for the month up using fairly large "COUNTIF" statements, but i want to be able to show what the exact amount is in each cell not just a complete total.
i.e. i am away for 6 days i get £15 extra, if i am in Europe i get another £50 and if i work 12 hours i get £30.
I want to be able to calculate this total in each cell for that day.
I can send a copy of the spreadsheet i have got at the moment if that will make things clearer than what i have tried to explain.
Automatically Call Macro Based On Changed Cell Address & Text
I have the following code pasted into the worksheet module which used to work fine but no longer does. I didn't touch the code, it just stopped working.
Private Sub WorkSheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Select Case Target.Address
Select Case Target
Case "Custom Color 1": Call CustomColorInput1
Case "Custom Color 2": Call CustomColorInput1
Case "Custom Color 3": Call CustomColorInput1
Case "Custom Color 4": Call CustomColorInput1
Select Case Target
Case "Custom Color 1": Call CustomColorInput2
Case "Custom Color 2": Call CustomColorInput2
Case "Custom Color 3": Call CustomColorInput2
Case "Custom Color 4": Call CustomColorInput2
CustomColorInput 1-6 are the same except they input data into different cells F16-F21.
When I attach any of the CustomColorInput macros to a button it works fine. When I try to call it from the worksheet module, the data input box pops up but the data doesn't get entered into the cell. When I try to step through the CustomColorInput macros using F8, the input box pops up, I enter data and press ok. Then I continue with F8 and the debugger jumps to a custom function that I entered (below), which is not called for and is in no way related to the code.
Function PullAfterLast(rCell As Range, strLast As String)
PullAfterLast = Mid(rCell, InStrRev(rCell, strLast) + 1, 256)
When I close VBA, the data that I typed into the data input box is in the correct cell.
So basically, I'm getting three different responses from the offending code depending on how I call it up. Can anyone tell me what's going on?
More generally, in this and previous occasions, I've had problems with macros that cease to work for no reason that is apparent to me. What are some things that would cause a macro to stop working, without actually changing the code (other than the obvious, like referring to names or worksheets etc. that don't exist anymore)?
Automatically Fill Date For Whole Month
I'm using sheet for ledger. For entering date I use =today() but I want to do that in date column(A) I set a formula only once that if I enter data in 2nd column it automatically add today date and if data enter day after tomorrow it will add corresponding date. Is this possible?
Automatically Fill In Sheet Name In Formula
I am creating a register of first aid kits on my site. What I want to do is have a summary as the first worksheet, and then have contents, and individual expiry dates for each kit on seperate kits. Is there a way to autofill, or auto complete, a different sheet name in formulas?
Function To Fill In A Day Automatically
In the worksheet just say:Cell A1: Jan-11-2009 as today date. Cell A2: What is a date function I need to put in there so when a computer clock change to 12:01am it automatically fill in a next day it should be Jan-12-2009 and continues do so for the next day at A3 ....when computer clock change again. Remember I wanted a cells A2...A3...A2000 are blank until the computer clock change to 12:01am.
Automatically Fill In To Specific Row ?
to illustrate I attached a spreadsheet.The spreadsheet contains 5 colunms.
5. Sum of numbers (the formula for the sum is only entered in the first row)
What I want to do is automatically fill in sums from the second to the last row. I was trying it with the "record macro" function but failed because I don't know how to jump to the last row. CRTL-Shift-down is not useful in this case.
Fill Data Automatically After Choosing Name
I'm trying to create an invoice with customer list, and the problem now is I'm trying to find a list-dependent data way to input my customer's address.
At the moment, all I can do is a dependent dropdowns from a sorted list (see method here). So it's kinda troublesome in such that my list (of customers) opens up a list for address that has only one option (since there's only one address for each customer).
I hope there's a method out there whereby I can have a list of customers, then select the customer I want, and the address of this particular customer will appear in another cell below automatically (without the need of selecting it in another list).
My address is actually split into three different cells - Address, Building & Postal Code.
Automatically Fill From Dynamic List As I Type
I am not sure of what is it called, but I would like to be able to start typing in a cell and it to start giving me options until there is only one.
Right now I have 9 dynamic lists with anywhere from 5-20 names per list and I have a report form with multiple data validated drop down lists each pulling from a separate dynamic list. This works ok, but as the user tabs to a cell with the drop down, they must use the mouse to initiate the drop down and then select the right data. Even if the user types the right data into the cell, it will not pass validation. Is there a way to start typing and it to keep throwing away things until only one option is available and then be able to use the tab button to enter that data into the cell and move to the next cell? Or as another option how hard would it be to activate the drop down when the cell is selected and then use the arrow keys to select the right one and tab to the next cell? I would want to be able to tab through the cell if no information was needed from that dynamic list.
Fill Input Cell With Color Automatically
I am writing a program in excel spreadsheet and I was wondering how to fill an input cell with color automatically in excel 2007.
I mean that, say I am writing an addition program, I am giving an input numbers in B1 and B2 and i am writing formula in B3 (=B1+B2). I want excel to fill B1 and B2 with yellow/any color automatlically. Only the cells with number input should be highlighted.
Making A Formula To Automatically Fill A Label
As I am a fresh user of excel 2007 I do not know how hard it is to solve the problem I am facing but hopefully there is a solution that the readers here are willing to share with me.
I have a list of **-s that I have recorded as a hobby with my friends (karaoke, free concerts...) and I have them coded in a specific way, so that I can find them on a shelve easily. The list is built up in a form that is seen on the example file that I added.
So far I have used my own handwriting and a sticker to label my ** boxes. It´s not a very good looking combo to be honest. Since I already have all the data in my excel tabel it would be good to use excel to take all the things from there and just print it out.
How to do that? The front cover is easy, I used VLOOKUP function. All I have to do is enter a number into the column C1 and the front label gets filled.
The problem for me is the back cover that should take the right track nr, title and length from several rows (VLOOKUP uses only one row at a time)? How to make it work, that excel would know that on the first album there are 3 tracks and when chaging a number in C1 there would be 2 tracks on a second one.
