I have a workbook containing several sheets, each sheet has a large number of ActiveX check box controls on it.
The controls are presented in groups of three to capture responses to a question (Y/N/NA). If one of the three check boxes is set to True, the other two associated check boxes must be set to False.
What I want to do is avoid having to have an On_Click event sub for every single check box.
I have written a function that will handle updating the related check boxes but I am unsure how to call this function, passing it the name of the clicked Check Box whenever any check box is clicked.
Here is my current code with an On_Click event being used to call the function:
Private Sub chk100_01Y_Click()
' Want to replace this with a dynamic sub that will be invoked
' when any Check Box is clicked and pass the name of that Check
' box to the function
I have a spreadsheet that I use for people to make requests.
They can only select from the dropdown menus or the check boxes in the spreadsheet. Some fields are required.
I have a button that they click on to save the workbook.
When they click on it a macro checks if all required fields are completed. If they aren't, The user receives a Message box asking them to complete all required fields.
The problem I'm having is with 5 checkboxes each linked to a cell (B11:B15).
The user can check any or all of the boxes but they need to select at least one.
how I can check if the user selected at least one and if not then I would display a Message box asking them to select at least one?
I would like to ask regarding checkbox checking. I have 1 master checkbox and 3 sub checkboxes on the userform, and my target is that if the master checkbox is selected then I want to receive a msg if one of 3 checkbox are not selected when I hit the "Confirm" commandbutton.
I was asked about if i can copy defined cells when i checked its checkbox by using vba button , and another button in another book to paste those cells .
Mention that i may select more than one checkbox in copying and when i would paste these checkboxes , they would be in queue.
I have a spreadsheet that consists for 30 rows of groups of three checkboxes on each row. I want to have only one checkbox per row checked at a time. If the user checks one box while another it already checked then I want that checbox to be unchecked.
I want checkboxes to work like groups of option buttons. Actually, option buttons would be fine but with option buttons there is always one clicked but I need them all clear until the user clicks one. They will start off clear but if the user clicks one by mistake there is no way that I know of to clear it again. Checkboxes will clear again if you click it again so I thought I would use them.
how to have a group of three option buttons or checkboxes that will begin unchecked and be able to uncheck all three is one is checked in error,
I currently have a user form and am trying to make a counter to that will increment if the check box is not selected, but will not increment if the check box is selected.
I am assuming I could use an if then statement for this, under the command_click OK. but I cant get it to work.
I have up to 6 checkboxes on a work sheet but I only want one of them to be allowed to be checked at any given time. Is there a way to make sure this happens? As an example if the first check box is marked and then the user checks Checkbox4 checkbox1 would automatically be unmarked.
Im looking for a macro that can get a cell RANGE, the data in the RANGE will be copied then if the checkbox is selected it will copy the same data in the RANGE and add the selected checkbox in next column
I have column A and Column B < this is my selected range
Capture1.PNG
I will have a form that has checkbox and buton.
When all the checkbox is selected. when the button is click. the result will be.
In my userform I have a list of check box's that can be selected. Currently if more than one is selected, they will appear in the spread sheet in the same line one after another with a space between them. How do I make it so they either appear with a comma appearing after each, so the next value appears on the next line below or most perferably the cell turning to a drop down list with the values?
Current code
VB: If CheckBox1.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox1.Caption If CheckBox2.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox2.Caption If CheckBox3.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox3.Caption If CheckBox4.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox4.Caption If CheckBox5.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox5.Caption If CheckBox6.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox6.Caption
Spreadsheet current cell appearence if all 6 are selected ' Chinnook EH101 Lynx Puma Sea King Fixed Wing'
Required appearence: Chinnook EH101 Lynx Puma Sea King Fixed Wing
I have two option buttons on each of five spreadsheets in my Excel workbook. Selecting the first option button enables an x to be written to a cell when that cell is clicked with the mouse. Selecting the second option button disables the writing of the x when the cell is clicked with the mouse. I have these working quite well.
My problem is that I want the second option button selected (disable writing of x) when I enter the sheet. I'm pretty certain that I need the code in Sub Worksheet_Activate() but I haven't been able to find the VBA statement to set the second option button on.
Also, unlike having the option buttons on a form, when I select the option button on the spreadsheet in Design mode I can see no property sheet indicating the name, value, etc of the option button.
I have 5 Optionbuttons (in userform) named: Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3, Sheet4 and Sheet5.
When I open workbook Optionbutton1 (Sheet1) is activated, but what kind of loop(?) I need, if I want activate same named optionbutton than activate sheet. Example: I activate sheet3 then Optionbutton3 (named sheet3) have to activated also.
I tried simple codes, First worksheet: Private Sub Worksheet_Activate() OptionButton1.Value = True End Sub
Second worksheet: Private Sub Worksheet_Activate() OptionButton1.Value = False OptionButton2.Value = True End Sub
I have a userform on which there is a frame containing 8 option boxes. After a query, the results are displayed in the form. If I have a value of 1 in a cell, optionbox1 is checked; a value of 2 checks optionbox2, etc. It works great EXCEPT when first initialized. At that point, it checks the last optionbox, even if the number is 1. I have built a next and previous feature to scan the data, and when I return to the first entry, the correct box is checked. I tried coding blanks into the fields prior to populating them, but I still get the same results. Is there some explanation available so that I may remedy this? I'd really like the first piece of data to be correct.
I have the following code. I need the textbox values to pass to the cells when the option button (OB) is "moved away from"; that is, when I fill in the boxes while uner OB1, then select OB2, I want the values I put in to pass to the cells. Right now, the values passing to the cells listed under OB 1 are the values that are brought in under the enter event for OB2.
I have created a Group Box in Excel with 4 Option Buttons in the group. I have also created a Command Button which currently, when clicked, changes to a worksheet I specified. I am trying to have the Comand Button, when clicked, look at the selected Option Buttons in the Group Box and change to the worksheet specified by the selected Option Button. I have tried an IF..THEN statement with no success. code below that I have tried.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() If AM40 = 1 Then Sheets("Billboards(1)").Select 'ElseIf AM40 = 2 Then ' Sheets("Live Events Feedback(1)").Select End If End Sub
Ihave 2 functions which are called in my main program which should return a value due to what the user selects on a userform using option buttons and check boxes.
Function getnum() As Integer If userform1.OptionButton1.Value = True Then getnum = 1 End If If userform1.OptionButton1.Value = True Then getnum = 3 End If If userform1.OptionButton1.Value = True Then getnum = 5 End If End Function
Function getlevel() As Double If userform1.CheckBox1.Value = True Then getlevel = 1.2 End If.......................................
I have a user form with a group of several option buttons. When an optionbutton is selected, programatically, I want a worksheet's named column to be parsed through to find unique entries and then have those entries passed to the form's combobox. I've spent the last hour searching for an answer but to no success
I have 3 checkboxes; when one is checked, a set/range of rows should be visible. Only 1 checkbox should be checked at a time.
If checkbox 18 is already checked, and checkbox 20 is then checked, I want the first checkbox unchecked and the rows for checkbox hidden.
I'm using the following code. It works great as long as I check and uncheck the same box before attempting to check another box. But if Checkbox18 is already checked with its rows showing, and I then check checkbox20, the checkbox20 sub runs and as I step through, it jumps to sub checkbox18.
How can I stop my subs from jumping from one to another?
Code: Private Sub CheckBox18_Click() If CheckBox18.Value = True Then Worksheets("TRF").Rows("36:41").Hidden = False Worksheets("TRF").Rows("42:64").Hidden = True Worksheets("TRF").Rows("65:76").Hidden = True CheckBox19.Value = False
How can i hide and unhide one checkbox using another one? Can it be done using IF formula? And also i am using this checkbox to function something else as TRUE/FALSE.
My form has a combobox with three options "Withdrawal" "Deposit" "Fee". I want to make sure that whatever number a user puts into a textbox, if they select "Withdrawal" or "Fee" that number will be converted to a negative number, and if they select "Deposit" it will be positive. I have written the following code and am just wondering if there is some super slick way of doing it other than an if statement.
I enter for example in a cell : 0625-C0/01 sometime 0 is entered as O a letter and not zero.Is there a way to ensure that only 0 (zero) is allowed in that string using data validation rules.
I have five text boxes on a user form. I would like the 5th box to always equal 100 - the Sum of the other boxes, and never go below 0.
In other words, the text boxes are representing percentage breakdowns - so to validate the percentage entry in each box i want the last box to 'count down' from 100 as the percentages are distributed amoungst the other boxes. This box will also be a percentage figure, so is crucial it has its own box (rather than just saying these four boxes have to total 100) i hope this makes sense!
I have tried a code along these lines (see below) - (adapted from this forum but couldnt get it to work) I also found a version where one poster used a command to change the 'value' from string to numbers - but have been unable to find that again.
Private Sub txtbox1.change() txtbox5 = 100 - (CCur(txtbox1) + CCur(txtbox2) + CCur(txtbox3) + CCur(txtbox4)) End Sub
I have largish workbooks (10MB) with a variety of formulas and lookups to generate tables and charts. Calculation is ALWAYS set to Automatic, but sometimes (not always) the formulas fail to update when values are changed. Sometimes F9 will force calculation, sometimes Ctrl + Alt + F9, sometimes (especially with charts) I have to close the workbook and reopen before they will update. The workbooks contain macros but none are running when this happens. A search of your forum indicated that this question has arisen several times before, but I haven't seen a definitive answer.
Is there a simple solution, by changing something in the button properties? My current code below allows data from a userform to goto specific sheets and cells. Currently my option button named winbutton if true will display "true" in cell. i need it to be numerical value "1".
I have two enormous lists of dates. How do I automatically compare them to ensure the date on one comes after the date on the other one?
They're formatted as dates. Christmas Day 2000 (UK) did say 25/12/2000, and then when I reformatted it it automatically changed to 25 Dec 2000, and so on.
I'm looking for a way to ensure that users of a spreadsheet have filled in all required cells. VBA code which will prompt if a cell is blank which will activate on a button click
All cells are 'Named ranges' so hoping there's a way in which I can point to all named ranges and if they're blank display the below error message.
"Please ensure you have filled in all required fields"
