I'd like to be able to enter a date in excel as just the characters without the dashes and have it correctly recognized -- such as 05142006 changes to 5/14/2006. I have a great deal of data to enter and it would go much faster if I could do it in this format. Is there a VBA script or function of excel that I could use for this? View 9 RepliesI have spreadsheets with a lot of dates where the date separators used are periods “.” instead of slashes “/”. For example, 12.02.2008 is what shows in a cell. Where I live (Australia) that means 12 Jan 2008. My need is to have Vba code that converts these to dates; e.g. 12/02/2008 or 12-Jan-2008, etc. I can manually select the cell or cells, press Ctrl+H, replace the period characters with slash characters and it works correctly - I get 12/02/2008 – which I can then manipulate as a date. However, if I record a macro of the above actions, when I run the code the result I get in the cell is 2/12/2008 – i.e. 2 Dec 2008. The code recorded is:

SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _

The only time the code gives the correct result is when the month is greater than 12; e.g. 23.02.2008 is converted to 23 Feb 2008. My computer is set up with regional settings to Australia and date format day/month/year.
We have created a userform with several textbox for numbers. We'd like to show them with a format similar to "###,##0.00" and allow the users to enter numbers without commas, but always show the textbox formated. Is there any special way to manage this format? As the textbox is a "text" value, how can we manage the input and the numbers? Should we always replace the "," withi a nullstring? Example:

Return a list of each " case" that includes "item X" (both cases and items are stored as text). Each "case" has a list of associated items, which are stored in another worksheet. "Item X" may be associated with many cases (e.g. not unique to a single case).

I have a workbook that I'm using to tracking staffing patterns within a mental health agency. When the workbook opens the user is asked to pick a date range and an office location. I've placed code into the userform that pre-fills the "start date" with today's date and the "end date" 7 days from today's date. I would like the user to be able to enter a unique date range should they wish but I have yet to figure out the coding to accomplish my goal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have to enter a ton of dates in cells that don't need to include the day. And so was hoping if there was a way to enter a date into a cell without having to enter the day.
In essence, it seems like I have to type in the date as month/day/year and excel will figure it out from there. I would like to be able to just type month/year without bothering with the day, such as 9/14. And then excel recognizes this as a date.
Excel has to be able to recognize it as a date because these dates are expiration dates. And I would like to conditional format these dates so that when the expiration date has past the cell turns yellow.
I would like to bring up an input box when a button is pressed containing the text "which number do you want to update".
The user would then enter a number eg 101 and then by clicking ok, todays date (in the format MMM/YY) would be entered into cell J101 in Sheet5.
In my sample workbook, (attached), all I want to do is up a formula in column E that compares values in columns A, B and C. If they are the same, I want to put the last year model in Column E.

1.I enter information in to Text Box 1 (e.g. Test1), Option button 1 is True, click OK, the Text Box1 data + the time and date (Now() ) is entered in to the first blank row, (date = column A, Reg = column D & time = column F)
Text boxe1 is cleared of data.
Userform stays open.

2.I enter information in to Text Box 1(Test1) then Text Box 2 (1), Option button 2 is True, click OK, the data in Text Box1(Test1) is matched with the enters in column D (Test1). If this is a match then the data from Text Box2 is entered in to the same row as Test1 in the following order (token Number = column E & time = column G) Text Box 1 (Test1) is not required as it is already in column D
Text boxes1 & TextBox2 are cleared of data.
When I run the userform again all of the above is entered in to the next blank row. There will be a time delay between the first run and the second hence the need to match column D.
I would like to enter a date from an input box(which i have entered in the code below), this would then lookup in column F and find all rows and copy them to relevant sheet 7 days from the date entered.
E.g. if 24/11/2006 this would bring back all rows which from the 17/11/2006

I have 13 columns - 12 representing each month of the year and then a total. I start in F15 with Jan and end in R15 with the total - this is the heading row.
Below that I have my numbers for each month. Here's what I need to do: Anytime the total changes (by updating the monthly numbers), I need the day's date to be automatically entered into F14. This way I know the last time the data was changed.
I would like to make a list of vehicles with auto servicing dates appearing in the next column. How can I do this, example would be say 30/11/2008 was the last service, next column would be next service due 30/02/ 2009 and then a column next to that to say when service was done.
Pretty simple but I can't seem to get it to auto bring up the next service date which would be in 3 months time or 90 days.

I may have from 0 to 12 sales at that location on the same date. I am building a report in another sheet (sheet 2) that counts the number of sales for each date and displays that number in a cell in row 3. Above row 3, I want a formula that will reference the location (AZ sheet 1) and display that into my cell above row 3 in sheet 2. Each column in row 1 sheet 2 will have new date.

I am attempting to enter a code for the current date (m/d/yyyy). For appearance purposes only on the form I am using,
I am trying to enter spaces between the numerals. (" "&m&" "," "&d&" "," "&yyyy&" ".
I can only get the serial numbers to come up, no matter how I try to format the cell.
What I want to do is if I add data into B7 or F7 then the current date will appear in J7. I also don't want the date to change every time the project is opened.
Thus,
If I enter "withdraw or any word" into B7 or F7 - The current date (4-Dec) would appear in J7.
then if I close excel and I open it tomorrow, J7 would still read as 4-Dec, while if I enter "deposit or any word" into B8 or F8, the current date (5-Dec) would appear in J8.
- would need to be able to enter multiple entries on one day as well.

I have two sheets - Data and Mail.
I am using a userform to collate the information in the "data" sheet and have a unique ref number in column A. Data populates columns A - AC.
In sheet "Mail" I enter the Ref number and it pulls through the info using vlookups into a template which I then e-mail as the body of the text on the click of a macro button.
I wish to capture the date each time the button is clicked in the same data row starting in column AD then AE etc.
I have cobbled all of this together by searching around this forum - I have not expertise so please be gentle with me!
