I'm having a hard time putting this into words, so I'll try to make it simple.
I have a list with cells b1 thru f1 empty.
If one or more of those cells becomes populated, I want today's date to show up in cell g1.
Yes, the user could enter the date manually, but apparently that's too difficult for some people.
I have a sheet where I have a column of cells where I manually enter in a date. the format is d-mmm-yy. Before the end of the year rolled around I was able to enter in say only 12-31 and it would automatically change that to 12-dec-09, now when I do that it spits out 12-dec-10. It's not a big deal to type in the extra -09 to get it right but was wondering if there was a quick/easy fix to get it to know that I don't want a date in the future?
All dates I type in will be in the recent past...never more than 3 months or so old and never later than today's date.
I have a spreadsheet where a date is entered in column A with data in B-F. I am trying to write code to look in column A for a specific date and enter additional data into columns G-L on the same row. It needs to be able to skip the rows that are blank. So I have the dates of 12/1, 12/2 and 12/3 in column A rows 1,2 and 3 and I want to enter data for 12/2 on row 2 skipping the blank cells in row 1 for 12/1. Here is the code I have below.

I have an excel sheet with a couple of rows/columns of data in it (i've attached the sheet to my post (zipped in two parts)). Since I'm not familiar with VB. I want to simplify data entering procedure and I need a simple Userform for that purpose. That userform should enable me to enter data in the first row which has an empty cell in Column C. I have found a relatively decent userform on the internet and incorporated it into my sheet, but it's not working particularly well (it allows me to enter data only in one row, not in two or three). If I hadn't been clear enough, try to enter data in my sheet and you'll see what's the problem

PS you'll notice that I have a Command button/Macro that inserts new rows in the middle of the already entered data. It perfectly suits my needs since it also copies the formula from the Column L to the new rows. That code needs no repairs.
I have an excel sheet with a few columns, Column (1) has data entered for ever row (with a name.) Column (2) has a few random cells with data (names) about 30% and the rest are left blank. What I need, is to have a formula in a new column (3) that will put in the the data (names) of column (2) and then if there isnt data in column (2) then it will put the Data (names) from column (1). (ps, If i cant get this figured out, we have to buy a custom interface and it will cost around $7000,)

I have a workbook that I'm using to tracking staffing patterns within a mental health agency. When the workbook opens the user is asked to pick a date range and an office location. I've placed code into the userform that pre-fills the "start date" with today's date and the "end date" 7 days from today's date. I would like the user to be able to enter a unique date range should they wish but I have yet to figure out the coding to accomplish my goal.

=if(a1>10,a1,"")
Has a value_if_false of "". But Excel interprets this a bit differently than a cell that never had anything typed into it.
So if you have a column full of this formula copied down, and hit <control+down arrow>, you will go straight to the bottom and skip over all rows. Whereas if you have a column with values and empty cells alternating and hit <control+down arrow>, you will only skip the empty cells and go to the next value. Excel treats the conditionally empty cells as if they have a value, when it comes to this type of navigation. This holds even if you copy and paste "Values" for the cells over the formulas.
Is there any way to tell Excel to make the cells truly empty?
How I can look up non empty cells as shown in the below tables by use of a formula (I guess shifting data to the left without any empty cells between the data)?

if col b has a date then subrtract col a from b and display the # result, if col b is blank then subtract col a from location I store the @ now date - say Col ZZ Row 99? so no matter there is a count of number of days in every row in column D

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have to enter a ton of dates in cells that don't need to include the day. And so was hoping if there was a way to enter a date into a cell without having to enter the day.
In essence, it seems like I have to type in the date as month/day/year and excel will figure it out from there. I would like to be able to just type month/year without bothering with the day, such as 9/14. And then excel recognizes this as a date.
Excel has to be able to recognize it as a date because these dates are expiration dates. And I would like to conditional format these dates so that when the expiration date has past the cell turns yellow.
I would like to bring up an input box when a button is pressed containing the text "which number do you want to update".
The user would then enter a number eg 101 and then by clicking ok, todays date (in the format MMM/YY) would be entered into cell J101 in Sheet5.
In my sample workbook, (attached), all I want to do is up a formula in column E that compares values in columns A, B and C. If they are the same, I want to put the last year model in Column E.

Userform stays open.

If this is a match then the data from Text Box2 is entered in to the same row as Test1 in the following order (token Number = column E & time = column G) Text Box 1 (Test1) is not required as it is already in column D
Text boxes1 & TextBox2 are cleared of data.
When I run the userform again all of the above is entered in to the next blank row. There will be a time delay between the first run and the second hence the need to match column D.
I would like to enter a date from an input box(which i have entered in the code below), this would then lookup in column F and find all rows and copy them to relevant sheet 7 days from the date entered.
E.g. if 24/11/2006 this would bring back all rows which from the 17/11/2006

I have 13 columns - 12 representing each month of the year and then a total. I start in F15 with Jan and end in R15 with the total - this is the heading row.
Below that I have my numbers for each month. Here's what I need to do: Anytime the total changes (by updating the monthly numbers), I need the day's date to be automatically entered into F14. This way I know the last time the data was changed.
I would like to make a list of vehicles with auto servicing dates appearing in the next column. How can I do this, example would be say 30/11/2008 was the last service, next column would be next service due 30/02/ 2009 and then a column next to that to say when service was done.
Pretty simple but I can't seem to get it to auto bring up the next service date which would be in 3 months time or 90 days.
I'd like to be able to enter a date in excel as just the characters without the dashes and have it correctly recognized -- such as 05142006 changes to 5/14/2006. I may have from 0 to 12 sales at that location on the same date. I am building a report in another sheet (sheet 2) that counts the number of sales for each date and displays that number in a cell in row 3. Above row 3, I want a formula that will reference the location (AZ sheet 1) and display that into my cell above row 3 in sheet 2. Each column in row 1 sheet 2 will have new date.
