May 7, 2009Is it possible to use a date formula eg Today() to enter that days date when a blank cell say a1 gets data entered, then not change date the following day?

I've placed code into the userform that pre-fills the "start date" with today's date and the "end date" 7 days from today's date. I would like the user to be able to enter a unique date range should they wish but I have yet to figure out the coding to accomplish my goal.

I am using the =TODAY() command in cell C21.
If i reload the saved file a few days later the date obviously defaults to the date opened not the previous one.
Is there any code or a macro that i could use to ensure this date stays the same when it's first saved?
I would like for the result of a formula to stay in the cell even after the first cell changes.
in cell G1 I use this formula, if(C1=D10,A1,""), I would like result of formaula to remain in G1 even after C1 is changed.
I wondering if it's possible to create a code to have a popup where the user can enter a date in mm/dd/yyyy format and then all rows containing that date will be deleted.

I have 6 Headings in excel named...
"A" in cell A1, B in B1, "C" in C1, "D" in D1, "E" in E1 and "F" in F1.
There are two projects.
Project 1 has phase A, D & F and Project 2 has phase A, B, C, D & E.
My Specification follows...
1). Take Prject 1 - Which starts from A...in cell A2 I will keyin "A". When the phase comes to an end I will key in the end date of the phase. As soon as I key in the end date in cell A2 Letter D should automatically appear in the cell D2 and when Phase D comes to an end I will key in the end date in Cell D2 which should automatically keyin F in the cell F2. and is the same case for Project 2.

View 2 Replies View RelatedExtract data with differing date formats that I need to convert to something consistent that I can format as a date.
This is an example of data.... all with general format at the moment.
2/28/2013 2:48:53 PM
1/16/2013 10:48:50 AM
12/17/2012 11:59:49 AM
I have used this formula to extract the date portion, but I can't get this to then format as date. How do I convert this to the julian date, so I can then apply a date format?
=LEFT(G9,SEARCH("/",G9)+7)
(The day portion of this date always has a leading zero).
I am using Excel 2013. Anyway, the first issue is that I need to pull a date and a time period from text. So, for example, if I see something like Sunday Prime Time 7/6/14 8:37PM, I would want to pull ONLY the "7/6/14 8:37PM" out of it. Each text box could potentially be different, so it might not always be in the same format as "Sunday Prime Time 7/6/14 8:37PM" it might only show just the date and/or the time without all the extra text i.e. 7/6/14 8:37PM. Some of the cells will have text, others might only have just the time or even just the date and the time. The only thing that I am worrying about in each cell is extracting just the date and time. If this is too much to ask of excel, I would be ok with extracting ONLY the time - 8:37PM and not the date, but I would much rather be able to get both the time and date.
THEN, onto part two of my question. After I would pull the dates and times, I need to compare them with each other. So, when I have the same date with two separate times on that date, I need to write a formula to show if those times on that date are less than 30 minutes apart. So, if I have 6 times on 7/6/14, I need to know if any of them are less than 30 minutes apart.
I would need to have the formula say something like "Problem" if the times on 7/6/14 would be 5:30PM, 5:48PM, 7:00PM, 8:00PM, 8:15PM, and 9:00Pm for example. I would like to see the word "Problem" since 5:30PM and 5:48Pm is only 18 minutes apart, and "Problem" after 8:15PM since that is only 15 minutes past the 8:00PM which is obviously under 30 minutes. The times that are more than 30 minutes apart such as 7:00PM and 9:00PM for example are more than 30 minutes apart from any of the other times that were extracted.
I have to enter a ton of dates in cells that don't need to include the day. And so was hoping if there was a way to enter a date into a cell without having to enter the day.
In essence, it seems like I have to type in the date as month/day/year and excel will figure it out from there. I would like to be able to just type month/year without bothering with the day, such as 9/14. And then excel recognizes this as a date.
Excel has to be able to recognize it as a date because these dates are expiration dates. And I would like to conditional format these dates so that when the expiration date has past the cell turns yellow.
I would like to bring up an input box when a button is pressed containing the text "which number do you want to update".
The user would then enter a number eg 101 and then by clicking ok, todays date (in the format MMM/YY) would be entered into cell J101 in Sheet5.
In my sample workbook, (attached), all I want to do is up a formula in column E that compares values in columns A, B and C. If they are the same, I want to put the last year model in Column E.
I have filled in the first 12 rows to whow the desired result. Ultimately, for each part number and model combination, I want to put the final year for that combination in column E. The sample workbook constains just a few rows, but my master has about 30,000 rows.
I am creating a userform to enter data in to a spreadsheet. The userform is set out as follows
1.Text Box 1 (Reg)
2.Text Box2 (Token Number)
3.Option Button1
4.Option Button2
5.Command Button 1 (OK)
6.Command Button 2 (Cancel)
Option button one is set to default as True,
1.I enter information in to Text Box 1 (e.g. Test1), Option button 1 is True, click OK, the Text Box1 data + the time and date (Now() ) is entered in to the first blank row, (date = column A, Reg = column D & time = column F)
Text boxe1 is cleared of data.
Userform stays open.
part 1 I have working
2.I enter information in to Text Box 1(Test1) then Text Box 2 (1), Option button 2 is True, click OK, the data in Text Box1(Test1) is matched with the enters in column D (Test1). If this is a match then the data from Text Box2 is entered in to the same row as Test1 in the following order (token Number = column E & time = column G) Text Box 1 (Test1) is not required as it is already in column D
Text boxes1 & TextBox2 are cleared of data.
When I run the userform again all of the above is entered in to the next blank row. There will be a time delay between the first run and the second hence the need to match column D.
I would like to enter a date from an input box(which i have entered in the code below), this would then lookup in column F and find all rows and copy them to relevant sheet 7 days from the date entered.
E.g. if 24/11/2006 this would bring back all rows which from the 17/11/2006

when the number in cell 'A1' reaches zero i want the VBA code to enter the date in cell 'A2' that it became '0'.
This is as far as i've got.

I have 13 columns - 12 representing each month of the year and then a total. I start in F15 with Jan and end in R15 with the total - this is the heading row.
Below that I have my numbers for each month. Here's what I need to do: Anytime the total changes (by updating the monthly numbers), I need the day's date to be automatically entered into F14. This way I know the last time the data was changed.
I would like to make a list of vehicles with auto servicing dates appearing in the next column. How can I do this, example would be say 30/11/2008 was the last service, next column would be next service due 30/02/ 2009 and then a column next to that to say when service was done.
Pretty simple but I can't seem to get it to auto bring up the next service date which would be in 3 months time or 90 days.
I'd like to be able to enter a date in excel as just the characters without the dashes and have it correctly recognized -- such as 05142006 changes to 5/14/2006. I have a great deal of data to enter and it would go much faster if I could do it in this format. Is there a VBA script or function of excel that I could use for this? I've tried looking around on here a bit and in the program settings,

I need it as a formula to be entered into a cell in excel (not VBA)

I need the results to be "as at 31-Oct-06". Is there a formula for this??
I've created a group of user forms used for recording jobs and displaying details of jobs and have come up against a problem I think you may be able to help me with.
When the user creates a new record, I've written some code to stamp txtdate text box with the current system date and this information is then copied onto a sheet called Data into a specific column.
This part works fine and as the column is formatted to handle dates it displays fine.
However, when I pull the data back in, it displays the date as the serial number date, not formatted as dd/mm/yy. I've tried every fix I can find to sort this but none of them seem to work.
The code I use to pull the data in is as follows:
ComboBox1.BoundColumn = 11
txtdate.Value = ComboBox1.Value
The idea is that the user selects a job number from combobox1 and then the appropriate column is pulled into each txt box on the form.
At the same time, I'm trying to do the same for the system time as well. Unsurprisingly I have a very similar problem here and use the same code as above. I've tried formatting both date and time txt boxes in the userform, the data transfer code etc etc with no success.
I am having a problem which I imagine will be fairly simple to resolve but I can't figure it out!
Cell A1 contains a Date eg (01/01/07)
In Cell A2 I want to write a formula that says: Insert 'Warranty' if the system date is within 365 days of the date in Cell A1.
Is there a way to make a cell display today's date as YYYYMMDD?
Assuming data!a2= 7989, I need the following formula to display as shown below
="txt"&data!a2&"txt"&today
displayed as
txt7989txt20080507
How to find which day it is when a date is entered.

I may have from 0 to 12 sales at that location on the same date. I am building a report in another sheet (sheet 2) that counts the number of sales for each date and displays that number in a cell in row 3. Above row 3, I want a formula that will reference the location (AZ sheet 1) and display that into my cell above row 3 in sheet 2. Each column in row 1 sheet 2 will have new date.
