Excel 2003 :: Macro That Copies And Pastes From Every XLS File In Directory

Oct 23, 2012

What i am trying to do is in 1 workbook (labled as Book1 literally), it needs to copy the sheets out of every .xls file there is in a single directory, we'll call C:MyFolderMySubFolder. There can be anywhere between 1 and 366 files in this particular folder and I need all the sheets in each file labled 'CC' copy that entire sheet, paste that sheet to Book1, go back to that file it was copied from, close it (saving changes is ok), then move on to the next file.. and the next file... and so forth

While pasting into book1, I need each WS copied from each file to paste to a new worksheet in book1 rather than combining them into 1 or overwriting, and lable each of those sheets the file name of which the sheet came from...

The names are in sequence. All files in the folder will be labled as a date such as "9-6-12" so the sheet name in book1 would be named 9-6-12. (so there may result in 366 new worksheets to book1)

I primarily use Microsoft Office Excel 2003

Macro That Finds, Copies And Pastes

Jun 14, 2007

I am trying to make a macro, but because of my inexperience, it's not working out. I have got a big list (list 1) of numbers in column E. each number has some information in the cells of columns C, D and L, all in the same row. on the same sheet, I have got another, smaller set of numbers (list 2), also in column E but at the bottom of the sheet. the numbers in list 2 are all present in list 1 (but not all numbers in list 1 are present in list 2). the columns C, D and L on the same row of the numbers in list 2 are empty...............

Parsing Out Text Which Copies And Pastes Into One Cell

Jul 9, 2013

I have an email sent via pdf and the only way to get this into excel is by copying and pasting and it all shows up in one cell.

Not much to focus on other than reading from left to right, once you see a numeric value, this should be in another cell and once you see "LS or WS or NR or COA, this will begin another cell. I had to add the dots to show where the new cell starts.

Macro Inserts 3 Rows Below Each Existing Row Of Data And Copies And Pastes That Data Into Each Of The Empty Rows

Nov 30, 2009

need to create a macro that inserts 3 rows below each existing row of data and simply copies and pastes that data into each of the empty rows before moving on to the next unique row and doing the same thing again.

This is what I have so far, but I can't seem to get the loop right.

Rows("2:2").Select
Do
Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove
Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove
Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove

activecell.Offset(-1, 0).Select
Range(activecell, activecell.Offset(0, 5)).Copy
activecell.Offset(1, 0).PasteSpecial
activecell.Offset(1, 0).PasteSpecial
activecell.Offset(1, 0).PasteSpecial
Selection.Offset(1, 0).EntireRow.Select

Excel Macro Which Copies Only Certain Cells?

Jan 20, 2014

I am looking for a Macro, which would first ask me to input the member notation in a new tab (Say M1 in the example). After I give the input as M1 or M2 or M2 or so on, it would display only rows for Section 1 (min and max values) and section 4 (min and Max values)(highlighted in Red). I know it is petty simple, but I am still an amateur with regards to Macros.

List All Files In Directory In An Excel File

Apr 2, 2009

In my search I found several example similar to what I need, but nothing I could adapt to filt my needs, (at least not wim my limited skills).

Here what I need to do:

I have multilple Excel files in a directory. (M:/Archived PO Responses/Domestic). On a daily basis, these files are processed via VBA, and deleted after processing. What I need to do is, prior to processing and deleting these files, create an ongoing log of the filenames in that directory.

Example:

The macro would open an Excel file named "Processed Orders.xls", which is stored on the network drive "M:". It would then append all of the filenames in the directory mentioned above to a sheet named "Processed Orders" in that workbook, below any filenames that already exist.

Macro To Erase File On A Directory

Mar 9, 2013

The code bellow allows me to save a copy of the invoice by way of doPDF using invoice number as the name of the pdf to be saved.

Code:

Else
Application.ActivePrinter = "doPDF v7 on DOP7:" 'Selects doPDF to genarate PDF file of invoice.
ActiveSheet.ExportAsFixedFormat Type:=xlTypePDF, Filename:= "E:LusaGenerated InvoicesINV" & Range("L17").Text & ".pdf", _

[Code]...

As there is the need to, should a quotation or an invoice be wrong, to change it. In other words I have code to cancel the invoice as bellow.

Code:

Dim sResponse As String
Dim rFound As Range
sResponse = InputBox("Enter record you want to change." & vbNewLine _& "ATTENTION!

This will change the current record number and will erase record data from saved records sheet.")

If sResponse = "" Then --cancelled or OK with no entry: do nothing or add message
Else
Set rFound = Sheet1.Columns("L").Find(What:=sResponse, LookIn:=xlValues,

[Code]...

The code above simply removes a line on sheet1 to which yet another macro retrieved some info from an invoice such as date, invoice, customer and total.

Now I just realized that when I change an invoice, I will be again when finished, creating another pdf file that already exists.

How can I have the second macro here changed so that it will go to ""E:LusaGenerated InvoicesINV" & Range("L17").Text & ".pdf", _" and delete this pdf file?

File Copy Macro - With Directory Specified In Workbook Cell

Feb 23, 2010

I am continuing to struggle with my first attempt at a macro, and wonder if someone would mind taking a look to see where I have gone wrong? All I am trying to do is create file copying tool where the user can define the source and destination directory in workbook cells, and assign the macro to a button to complete the copy of all files from source to destination.

The macros do this:

Source and Location directory defined in Sub Archive1.
These are passed to file copy macro Sub ArchiveScript.
This macro checks for presence of destination directory, ensures that the directory backslash is in place, specfies the variables fn and fn2 to make sure the filecopy command copies all files in the directory, and then carries out the filecopy function itself.

However, I am getting two errors from the code that I can't figure out (I am still very much a beginner!)

- Invalid procedure call or element on fn = dir() at the bottom

- The copy still works, but only seems to copy one file from the source to the destination, and not all of them.

Excel 2003 :: Copying Range Of Cells From One XLS File To Another

Nov 5, 2012

I'm using Excel 2003. I've got two different .XLS files, each with multiple sheets.

I'm trying to create a macro which will copy a range of cells from one sheet on one .XLS file (which is closed) to a specific place on a specific sheet on the current .XLS file (which is open).

So for the sake of argument:

I've got two Excel files: C:ApplesOldFile.xls and C:OrangesNewFile.xls

OldFile.xls is closed -- NewFile.xls is open and in front of me.

I'm trying to copy the data in ranges B6:C41 and F6:F41 from Sheet2 in OldFile.xls to the same ranges on Sheet6 in NewFile.xls. There are no formulas in these cells -- just data (numbers).

I keep getting error messages, failures to copy to clipboard, etc.

Excel 2003 :: HYPERLINK To Open PDF File Reader

How do I create a hyperlink in an Excel 2003 file that will open a PDF file with Reader?

I used the HYPERLINK function and built the path and file by concatenating information. When I click the hyperlink, I keep getting an Excel error: Cannot open the specified file.

Do you think this problem is something of my own doing or some "undocumented feature" in Excel?

Excel 2003 :: Prevent Conversion Of XLS File To A Newer Format?

I have a workbook that I maintain in Office 2003 that gets filled out by customers and returned. When a user with a newer version of Excel converts the file, it doesn't function properly when I go open it. I believe the conversion issue has to do with Active X Controls, but I'm using them to do some things that won't work with Forms Controls, so replacing them would be a last resort. Also, upgrading Office isn't an option at this point.

Excel 2003 :: Change Permission To Recovered File With Password Encryption

Aug 9, 2013

I have an excel spreadsheet that I password encrypted in Excel 2003.

The computer that it was stored on has died however the hard drive was still good and has been added as a second drive in my current computer with no signs of data corruption.

I took ownership of all the files on the old drive and gave explicit rights on my current computer to open that file. However when I open the file with in excel. I get the error: You don't have permission to open this file. Contact the file owner or an administrator to obtain permission.

When I open from windows explorer. I get the error: Excel cannot access 'Passwords.xls' The document may be read-only or encrypted.

And: 'Password.xls' cannot be accessed. The file may be corrupted, located on a server that is not responding, or read-only.

The new computer has Excel 2010 instead of 2003. Additionally, I know the password to the encrypted file but it wont let me even get to a place where I need to put in a password. I cannot move or copy this file to another location either.
