The problem is that the codes are preceded by a "bullet" symbol.
How can I remove that orphaned bullet symbol. If the code is ". CtlCode10" (where the . is a bullet), then ALL need to be removed
How many sheets can be created in Excel 2010? Is it depend on memory PC or is any limit within Excel?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet which I need to print to PDF. There is a simple "Save as" PDF option which always fails with just the message "Document not saved". I created a simple test sheet with just a few numbers on to check it isn't due to complexities with the particular workbook. This works on my home PC (Windows 7) but not on the Windows 7 Club PC which is where I need to run it to generate the output which eventually will go to the club's website.
It also fails the same way if I try to create an XPS file (although I don't want an XPS file).
This fails from the normal user interface "Save As". I also tried it from a VBA macro and run it: I get Run-time error '-2147467261 (80004003)' Document not saved
I've googled endlessly but all the references I tried failed to uncover a solution. I was a bit surprised that this doesn't seem particularly common and most of the reports seem to be a couple of years old or older (no workarounds were useful).
I am trying to create an inventory list that automatically updates the supply quantity when items are taken away from inventory. I have created entry cells where the quantity of items taken out of inventory can be entered (example, cell F2 of the attachment), and the new overall inventory count is adjusted accordingly for each stock of items (example, cell B3). These automated adjustments are repeated for each subsequent row for every time items have been taken from inventory and recorded.
I managed to get it to do what I originally intended with exception of the fact that it still present values on rows where there were no activity - or quantity of items taken from out of inventory (row #6 and beyond of the attachment). Is there a way of "hiding" these values without removing the formula, or possibly set conditional formatting where no values are displayed if no changes in inventory has been entered?

I have a problem concerning sending an active word document via mail. I have a worksheet with various information in it, that I am exporting to a word document. I then want to send the word document via email. I want to do this without saving the changes in the word document. I am working with excel 2010. I have posted some of my code below.
VB:
Sub letter()
Dim myWord As New Word.Application
Dim adr As Variant
[Code]....
I get the following errormessage: "Compile error. Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment"
In my Excel 2010 workbook I wen through File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect document. But as it's shown following, it doesn't show anything. Why?

Have very recently been upgraded to Windows 7 with Excel 2010 at work. On printing out a 10 page doucment, (all of which are landscape format), when vewing print preview, the first page is previewed as landsacpe, but subsequent pages are portrait.
If you change format of 2nd page to landscape all subsequent pages switch to landscape.
Have looked at a similar format document created last month and it behaves exactly the same. Whole document landscape but on print preview only first page is...
I have a long bit of code that at one point saves a Word document and then saves it again with a new name and the old (legacy) .doc extension.
This all works find when the user is running Office 2007. However, it errors out for using Office 2010. The reference libraries are all correct (as far as I know).
Code:
Dim myDoc As Word.Document
Dim saveAsName as String
saveAsName = "some text here" + ".doc"
myDoc.Save
myDoc.SaveAs fileName:=(saveAsName), FileFormat:=wdFormatDocument
I have created a userform in Excel. The information from this userform is saved into a word document using a command button. What I would like to know is can I use vba to, not only create this word document but also, to send it as an email attachment at the same time? Just to make it a bit tougher - I'm using Groupwise as my email software.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt my work, we receive manufacturing plant reviews periodically from each plant. Information on the plant's completed tasks and dates of completion are then updated to a central summary document for all plants. These updates are completed forms which each plant supervisor fills out and uploads to our network. At this time, someone manually has to shift through all these plant update forms and pull key information out so the central summary document can be presented. I want to streamline this process so there is no double handling of review information or continuous code changes.
What would be a way to have the central summary document extract date information from the most recent file in a plant's update folder (i.e. a folder contains plant update 05/02/2013, 06/20/2013, 06/25/2013, 07/2/2013, 07/22/2013, 8/05/2013, 8/13/2013 and it will only pull date information from 08/13/2013. This also means that these worksheets have yet to be completed and therefore do not exist in the update folder until the plants post them.
I have an MS Excel 2010 xlms file which is password protected. Unfortunately, the person who has the password has left the company!
Which is the best tool to remove the password / recover the file?
I have created a worksheet and password protected, I know the password but now want to send to someone and remove the password protection option instead of them having to use a password to open it.

I have been able to find the coding to do this for a worksheet but I'd really like to be able to unlock the whole project.

I have a Worksheet

I have code, attached to the cmdSubmit1 button on my UserForm. The purpose is to allow access to a veryhidden Worksheet "ADMIN".
The code 'works' if I enter in both the correct UserName and Password (ie: the code completes & Admin sheet opens up).
The code 'works' if I enter in the correct UserName and the wrong password (ie: code completes it's run, my msg pops up to say there is wrong input, unloads the form & sheet ADMIN stays veryhidden).

I have a 2010 excel workbook with several locked worksheet (to which I manage the PW). I and another staff member manage different section of the macro but the other staff member doesn't have access to the locked areas.
Is there a way I can encrypt the password within VBA so it's not visible to the other staff member?
Locking the VBAProject doesn't work as the other staff member has to be able to edit his VBA section.
Many staff run the macro (via a button) and don't need to access the Macro and don't have access to the protected sheets.
I understand excel isn't ideal with PW protection for people wanting to bypass the protection and this isn't an issue.
Using Excel 2010. I'm writing a macro that sets up a workbook to be used for estimating at the beginning of a project. In the code I need to create multiple tables (formerly known as "lists") in the workbook. Then later in the code I need to refer back to those newly created tables. Currently, the code that creates the table is part of a loop that creates the table on many different worksheets. The problem of course, is that I have to name the Table, and then it won't create a table of the same name on the next sheet. Then, later in the code, I need to make adjustments to the table that was just created before looping to the next sheet.
Is there a way to create a table without giving it a constant name? Or by giving it a name that builds off of other info in the sheet? For example, I would be good with the naming the table after the sheet name: "Sheet1_Table" or such.
Code:
Sub Auto_Open()

Dim sht As Worksheet

I am my excel worksheet (excel 2010) I have one cell that changes every day (number). I want this number to open my htm document and replace the same number in a string in the htm and save/close this.
An example:
My htm document is located at C:/ and named XX.htm
The number I want from excel is in cell A1 in sheet1, and the worksheet is located in D:/ named yy.xlsx
And the text(number) I want to replace is in the following string in the htm document, in this string it is 72, next day it can be 30:

I tried locking an excel document and i ticked a box that said protect structure, and then entered my password and now I cannot open the document. It is a white square on my desktop now with no options to do anything, it cannot even be attached to an email or deleted. This was on excel 2008 on a macbook.
How to put a formula into my userform created in Excel.
What I have is 4 Combobox's which can select either 0,1,3 or 9 then each box has a weight which that number must be timed by this is the excel formula:
=SUM(L48*10,M48*10,N48*8,O48*6) so that was 9x10,3x10,9x8,3x6 Which gives me a sum of 210.
Can this be added to the userform so when the user selects the number from the dropdownbox it will calculate it into the total score?
This is a screen shot of the userform : Capture.JPG

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am completely new to Macro's and VB and the macro below has been generated using the "Record Macro" function in Excel 2013 with a couple of very minor modifications based on some research I have done (hyperlink & input box). My ultimate goal is to make a copy of my "TEMPLATE", which is hidden and the copy could have a variety of names, then create an entry in my "SUMMARY" table that references cells on the newly created sheet. The new entry on the SUMMARY page should be entered in the next available row ... at the moment I need to make sure I have my cursor in the right place before I run the macro. I also want the first cell in the new "SUMMARY" row to create a hyperlink to the newly created worksheet.
The macro does what I need it to do, as long as I name the new sheet "Test", what I would like is for the Macro to recognise the name of the new worksheet and create links to that name. The rows and columns in each new sheet will remain the same, hence the R##C## part will always work.
The "SUMMARY" and "TEMPLATE" worksheet names will not (ever) change.
I am creating an invoice form in Excel 2003. I like to know if it is possible to increase the value of cel A1 by one everytime a new sheet is created.
For example i created my first worksheet and gave an invoice number 001. Now I create a new worksheet by right clicking on the tab and choose copy/move. I like the second work sheet change the invoice number to 002.
I've written a little VBScript that generates several hundred Excel 2013 worksheets. In order to protect the users from themselves I protected certain cells. Everything works as expected, except when I discovered that the password I used to protect the worksheet doesn't work to unprotect it. If it matters, I'm not trying to unprotect programmatically, just opening Excel and going that route.
Here's a snippet of my code:
objWS.protect Password="abc123"
I want to add these document properties I created to a cell ("A1" or any of the cells) without doing any VBA programming. Is this achievable in any case?

Field A which I need to convert into two cells.
So I would have two columns for which would give me the split of A
A) 6210220121120
What this needs to be is 62102 in one field
The other field it needs to read as a date (which is backwards) and this would be: 02/11/2012. As you can see that is how the field is.
Last four digits is the DD/MM backwards and the year is forwards.
Some time ago, a friend of mine told me he didn't use any Pivot Tables at all, due to the imense space they require.
Instead, he made connections between Forms in Excel and the Databases using SQL.
Do you know of any Internet site where I can start to learn something about this?
