View 3 RepliesWhen you create a userform in the vba editor, then go to another module, then return to the userform, you see the userform object by default and in order to show the code you have to right-click on the userform and select "view code".
How can I make the "view code" view the default view for the form in the VBA editor? (i.e. so that when the form is selected, I am presented with the code, not the object).
I have a Excel 2010 file that I want to activate the file and create a folder in it named customUI.
the steps to achieve this?
I am working on a report where if an icon or button is clicked it should open rich text editor or text box with current date and time in the box so that the managers can enter their remarks next to them. On clicking submit it should save the remarks and next time when opened it must have previous comments with date and also should prompt todays date for new comments.

Now, when it starts, I have a popup form asking for password for access for it. The problem is that for one person - AND ONLY THAT PERSON - the VBA Editor window opens and she has to press the "Play" button for it to hide and be able to enter the password to access the application.
The editor is not showing on any other computer. All computers are running Excel 2010.
I am trying to create a fairly simple spreadsheet with about 8 columns and about 400 rows. One of the columns features a drop-down list with about 8 or 9 different options. Dependant on which option is selected, i would like the entire row to change colour with that option.
For example:
FAILED - whole row changes red
SUCCESSFUL - row has no fill
Tested - row changes to orange
etc.
Is this possible within Excel 2003?

I have turned a Workbook with Macros into an add-in. The macros work perfectly for the intended purpose: copy selected data in a special way and put it into an e-Mail message.
I used the CustomUI Editor to assign a macro to a Ribbon button.
However, when I turn it into an add-in and click the Ribbon button, it doesn't work on my machine or any other machine, with an error that says "Cannot run the macro 'CreateListofInventory'. The macro may not be available in this workbork or all macros may be disabled.
My macros are not disabled, and the add-in doesn't even work in the book where the macros reside.
I've created my menu. It has a new tab, two group, and some controls. My task is to load strings into one of the comboboxes from a list on a sheet. The id of the combobox is cmbo_ReachesCombo. I grabbed some code from Andy Pope's site that changes the text for a editbox. I tried to adapt it to my combobox, but it didn't work.
Public Sub cmbo_ReachesCombo_getText(control As IRibbonControl, ByRef returnedVal)
' Code for getText callback. Ribbon control Reaches Combobox
'
Dim R As Range
Set R = Sheets("Options").Range(Range("ReachPagesHeader").Offset(1, 0), Range("ReachPagesHeader").Offset(20, 0).End(xlUp))
returnedVal = R.text
End Sub
How to put a formula into my userform created in Excel.
What I have is 4 Combobox's which can select either 0,1,3 or 9 then each box has a weight which that number must be timed by this is the excel formula:
=SUM(L48*10,M48*10,N48*8,O48*6) so that was 9x10,3x10,9x8,3x6 Which gives me a sum of 210.
Can this be added to the userform so when the user selects the number from the dropdownbox it will calculate it into the total score?
This is a screen shot of the userform : Capture.JPG

I am completely new to Macro's and VB and the macro below has been generated using the "Record Macro" function in Excel 2013 with a couple of very minor modifications based on some research I have done (hyperlink & input box). My ultimate goal is to make a copy of my "TEMPLATE", which is hidden and the copy could have a variety of names, then create an entry in my "SUMMARY" table that references cells on the newly created sheet. The new entry on the SUMMARY page should be entered in the next available row ... at the moment I need to make sure I have my cursor in the right place before I run the macro. I also want the first cell in the new "SUMMARY" row to create a hyperlink to the newly created worksheet.
The macro does what I need it to do, as long as I name the new sheet "Test", what I would like is for the Macro to recognise the name of the new worksheet and create links to that name. The rows and columns in each new sheet will remain the same, hence the R##C## part will always work.
The "SUMMARY" and "TEMPLATE" worksheet names will not (ever) change.
I am creating an invoice form in Excel 2003. I like to know if it is possible to increase the value of cel A1 by one everytime a new sheet is created.
For example i created my first worksheet and gave an invoice number 001. Now I create a new worksheet by right clicking on the tab and choose copy/move. I like the second work sheet change the invoice number to 002.
I've written a little VBScript that generates several hundred Excel 2013 worksheets. In order to protect the users from themselves I protected certain cells. Everything works as expected, except when I discovered that the password I used to protect the worksheet doesn't work to unprotect it. If it matters, I'm not trying to unprotect programmatically, just opening Excel and going that route.
Here's a snippet of my code:
objWS.protect Password="abc123"
I am trying to create an inventory list that automatically updates the supply quantity when items are taken away from inventory. I have created entry cells where the quantity of items taken out of inventory can be entered (example, cell F2 of the attachment), and the new overall inventory count is adjusted accordingly for each stock of items (example, cell B3). These automated adjustments are repeated for each subsequent row for every time items have been taken from inventory and recorded.
I managed to get it to do what I originally intended with exception of the fact that it still present values on rows where there were no activity - or quantity of items taken from out of inventory (row #6 and beyond of the attachment). Is there a way of "hiding" these values without removing the formula, or possibly set conditional formatting where no values are displayed if no changes in inventory has been entered?

I have a few dozen pictures created when a macro runs. They all have unique names. I'd like to add comments to cells, where the cell.value decides which picture to pull. All the examples I've found online show how to do this if you have pictures saved on your hard drive by referencing the file path "c://mydocs/...blahblah/"
Is there a way to reference the pictures I've created/named with my macro?
Here's the snippet of code that creates the pictures and names them:
Code:
For i = 2 To Application.CountA(Sheets("Allocation").Rows(1))
Sheets("Allocation").Activate
Set rInput = Sheets("Allocation").Range(Cells(1, i), Cells(10, i))
sPicName = "_" & Sheets("Allocation").Cells(1, i) & "_"
sSheet = Sheets("Allocation").Cells(3, i)
dDate = Sheets("Allocation").Cells(5, i)
[Code] ......
Here are some examples that are close to what I'm looking for.

Using Excel 2010. I'm writing a macro that sets up a workbook to be used for estimating at the beginning of a project. In the code I need to create multiple tables (formerly known as "lists") in the workbook. Then later in the code I need to refer back to those newly created tables. Currently, the code that creates the table is part of a loop that creates the table on many different worksheets. The problem of course, is that I have to name the Table, and then it won't create a table of the same name on the next sheet. Then, later in the code, I need to make adjustments to the table that was just created before looping to the next sheet.
Is there a way to create a table without giving it a constant name? Or by giving it a name that builds off of other info in the sheet? For example, I would be good with the naming the table after the sheet name: "Sheet1_Table" or such.
Code:
Sub Auto_Open()
'
Dim sht As Worksheet
If Range("A1") = 1 Then
[Code].....
I am having problems with the VBA Editor freezing at the most inconvenient of times when writing code and then clicking to the Sheet I'm working on, it just freezes up the whole of Excel and it has to be shut down and opened up again.
It seems like a memory problem at first, but there is sufficient memory
( 768Mgs, OS is XP Pro, Excel 2000, 9.02).
The work is not lost becuase I'm able to Save even at PC Re-boot, fortunately.
I've tested on 2 different PC's and the same happens. The only way to avoid the freeze it seems, is before I switch to view a worksheet, is to Save then click off VBA Editor and re-open.
When doing so, another symptom is it seems a huge amount of memory is freed up, ( pardon the terminology)
There is also a message that pops up when re-opening that same workbook that there are Formulas Linked to another workbook, but unable to find any after tediously searching every worksheet by using "Find, Look in Formula" there is nothing found, yet.
This freezing may happen twice a minute whilst pointing the mouse cursor from any VBA Edit window or worksheet and it's getting to a point of repetitiously having to Save, click off VBA Editor, and Click back on again each time I need to look at a respective Worksheet.
When I open my excel file and go to the VBA editor there is a pop up telling me that there is a dll error. So, I can't access none of my code or run any of them.
In the tools menu and references it says : "MISSING : Microsoft PowerPoint 14.0 Object Library". When I unchech this box and close the menu, it checks itself back.
Edit : I have Microsoft PowerPoint 12.0 Object Library also in my references list.
Any way that the VBA Editor Immediate window from within VBA code?

is it possible to remove a VBE project from the VBE editor? This is a project that is opened as a read-only workbook, and then converted into an addin (essentially just to hide the worksheets). It therefore shows in the VBE editor but is in neither the add-ins or workbooks collections. This file is basically used as a source for data for another charts workbook. I need to clear this out of the VBE editor so as to reload an updated version of this workbook every so often.

My question is:
I have a macro created for my Excel. I have a short cut key to run this macro. When i run the macro, the VB editor is opened where i have written the code. My requirement is, I don't want the VB editor to be opened when i run the macro. I want the macro to be executed but the VB editor should not be visible to the user.
I can't seem to tell if my formula isn't correct in concept, or if this is a known problem with Excel 2000?
I have written a short formula that is pretty straightforward, but is giving a different result in Excel's "Formula Editor" box (when you hit the = button) than is showing in the cell itself. The Formula Editor's result is showing as "TRUE" which is what I believe is the correct value, but the cell itself is showing the "FALSE" result of a different incorrect value.
i have a sheet with lots of macros.
for some reason whenever i run this one specific macro the vba editor screen comes up.. there is no errors. dont understand why it keep coming up.
also when i run this specific macro the first time it works really quickly.. and the next time i run it, the code takes a lot longer execute any ideas why?
Is it possible to check, with VBA code running some sort of "If" function in the background in an open workbook within which the VBA code is placed, whether a user is opening (or attempting to open) the VBA Editor? This should see any attempt being made, whether the user uses Tools>Macro>Visual Basic Editor, Alt + F11 or right clicking on the Excel icon top left to "View Code".
