I am trying to copy a table from webpage including hyperlink, so far i was successful to import table from webpage to excel, but in that i have hyperlinks, i want that hyperlink as well, how to proceed.
Code:
Sub TableExample()
Dim IE As Object
Dim doc As Object
Dim strURL As String
strURL = "HERE I USED MY URL"
' replace with URL of your choice
Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
I've been working on a macro that makes copies of a template sheet based on a table in my Opps sheet. If column B isn't empty, make a copy of the template sheet, rename it to Opps column A, and then hyperlink column A's current A.row to the newly copied and renamed sheet.
I'm not sure what is wrong exactly, it keeps making duplicate Template(x) and stops renaming them, and the hyperlinks are not working. -This is my first go at VBA hyperlinks to internal workbook sheets
I have an Excel 2003 file that contains hyperlinks to OneNote notebooks on a Sharepoint site. An Excel macro looks for these links and determines the full hyperlink address which is then assigned to a variable. An Outlook message is generated which includes the hyperlinks.
The hyperlinks work in the Excel file. I can also copy them from OneNote and manually paste them into an Outlook message and they work. However, when I obtain their full address and transfer that to the email through code, the links do not work. The hyperlink address from OneNote starts with "onenote:http" which is not recognized as a link.
If I can do this manually, there must be a way to do this with vba. Are there characters I need to include in the OneNote hyperlink address to make this work? Is there another way to transfer the working link from Excel to Outlook?
I have a workbook that has 2 worksheets. Sheet1 has a data table that is filled from an SQL database. I would like the first column of the data table to have each cell be a hyperlink. The destination of the hyperlink is Sheet2, cell A2. I would like to modify the hyperlink, so that when the user clicks on the hyperlink, the text-display of the hyperlink is copied into sheet2 cell A2. Initially, I thought this was simple. I added the event code shown below:
[Code] ........
This worked, however there was a problem. I manually added the hyperlink to all cells in column1 of sheet1. However, this made the TextToDisplay property the value of the first cell for all hyperlinks. So, solution to add hyperlinks to all cells in the first column, with TextToDisplay property set for each individual cell. What is the best way to do this with the fact that the number of rows in column1 will vary as the size of the SQL query changes?
I have two spread sheets that I 'converted' into tables. I need to combine them into a single sheet. When I attempt to copy and paste from one to the other the formatting and formulas do not carry 'down' as they do when I manually enter a new line or record.
Is there a way to copy multiple rows of data from one tabled sheet to another tabled sheet?
When i click a button in excel, i need the table from a certain "Range" to copy/paste in the body of an e-mail that will send itself automatically. Now, i know how to build the macro to automatically send the e-mail but i can't find a way to insert the table in it. here's the code i'm using to send the e-mail:
Public Sub SendMail2() 'Tools --> references --> Microsoft Scripting runtime 'Variables Dim EMailSendTo As Variant
[Code].....
But i don't know how to adapt the code for my problem. The fact is, i've just started to write macros and the code i'm using for the e-mail isn't from me, i have juste adapted it for my problem.
I have a chart and a data table (please see attached file named "delete_1.xls).
I need to present these 2 items in a single slide of PowerPoint.
I have done like this.
-First copied the chart from Excel. -Then pasted it in PowerPoint using "Paste special". -Then clicked "picture (windows metafile)" this is to reduce memory consumption
Then repeated the above steps for the excel table too.
The PowerPoint slide that I got cannot be attached as system doesn't allow me.
Question: I wanted to a give a paper copy of the PowerPoint slide to my Director who needs a PowerPoint slide and not an Excel chart. But in the slide, the numbers of the table look much juggled and as if the numbers are too closely typed.
I tried with various different fonts in Excel and then copy and pasted in PowerPoint but the problem persists.
What things I should do in Excel table so that cell values are clear in the Table presented in PowerPoint ?
In excel 2010, I'm using the following to copy and paste values and formatting from a pivot table, but i lose the formatting (TableStyle2 = "PivotStyleLight8"):
for my school project, I am right now doing time tracking for all of my activities throughout the day with excel. Here is basically what I am doing: For everything I do, I record and put in start time and end time for the activity.(I use simple formula to subtract these twos) If my day goes on like study, break, study, meal, study, break and each activity takes one hour for each, I have total of 3 hours studying, 2 hours taking break and one hour for meal. I am using pivot table to show all totals for each activity.
Pivot table is working best as far as my knowledge goes as I can choose and look up total of multiple activity combined. The problem here is I am making one sheet per a day and I need to continue this for three months. (So that seems like 90 worksheet). What I was thinking is I make Sheet 1 as master sheet. Then, copy and paste the entire sheet for 90 sheets assuming all formulas including pivot table go along with them. then, when I put in new data to other sheet, magic happens and values in pivot tables will change relatively after refresh. You might be probably laughing hard at me right now. I know..I tried it for like 3 sheets. Simple formula to subtract endtime and start time still work accordingly with new data. But, Pivotal table is playing dead at all.
I researched and found that that might be problem with reference and absolute cell reference thingy. ( to make pivotal table work for different worksheet). All the cells used ( including column and row ) will be entirely the same for all worksheets. The only difference aka problem is different sheet. I want to use sheet 1 as a template and copy it down to next 90 sheets taking all contents except data. Is there anyway I can copy and paste the whole template to another 90 sheets while making pivot table work and calculate and update itself according to relative data from each own worksheet? I use excel 2007 btw
I'm trying to copy a whole bunch of tables with identical layout to a master table, so I can create a whole bunch of pivot tables that include data from ALL the various tables. The source tables MAY be filtered, and I can't work out how to copy them easily while also INCLUDING any hidden/filtered rows while at the same time leaving any filter settings on the source tables intact.
If I use something like range("Table1").Listobject.DataBodyRange.Copy then it only copies the VISIBLE rows.
But I want ALL rows to be copied to a master table.
1. I don't want to unfilter the sources tables, because users might still want the source tables to remain exactly as the user filtered them. (However, it doesn't matter if the DESTINATION list is filtered or not). I realise that I could copy the entire sheet to a temp sheet, then unfilter any tables on that sheet and THEN copy these to the master list. But wan't to know if there's a simpler way.
2. I DON'T want to use SQL to create a pivot table directly from the tables, because the tables will have further information added to them from time to time, and so if I use SQL to make a pivot directly from them, I'll have to recreate the pivot cache using that SQL query each time, which might muck up the settings in any existing pivot tables. I realise that I could use SQL to copy the data to a 'staging area', and just point the pivot table at that.
3. I can't use PowerPivot, because its not installed in this environment.
Am working in Excel 07, but this would need to work in 2000 as well.
Need a macro that will...
1. Select a range of cells from B4 to RX. X is defined as the last row where Column A has a value. 2. Copy the visible cells 3. Open an email in Outlook (not via the email workbook function of excel), enter "Submission" into the title, enter "Dear X," insert 2 returns. 4. Paste the copied table (not the workbook, just what is on the clipboard) into the body the email.
I have a Pivot Table set up that is summarizing some work responsibilities, and within the data table that the Pivot is referencing, there is a field for a Hyperlink that will take the user to the location on the network where the work has been saved. I am not sure if it is possible, but I want to have that Hyperlink work in the Pivot Table as well, and not just display the text for the link.
I have a master sheet and various other tabs with IF statements where if certain cells on the master sheet contain my predefined criteria they pull over all the data from that line on the master sheet.
Here is the formula:
However data in A is hyperlinked - how can I ensure that carried over to the other tabs as a link?
I have a large list of values that only 1 value will be select at a time. I want to be able to click on the cell and have the value in the cell copied to another cell. Exactly like a link, but I need the data to go with it. In this case, a drop down box won't work.
I have created a Macro that lists and creates links of all the Excel Documents in a Directory (500+). I would like to extract from each of those files data from a single cell on a certain sheet. (The sheet and cell are the same in each of these files). The code I have written opens each of these files, copies the data and pastes the value in the column next to each sheet. This is a very time consuming task because of the shear volume. I feel that there is a better way to do this, I'm just not seeing it. If you could come up with a way to create this as a reference that would be great too instead of having to rebuild the entire list if the data changes. Here is the code I have written.
Sub Test2() ' Select cell A1, *first line of data*. Range("A1").Select ' Set Do loop to stop when an empty cell is reached. Do Until IsEmpty(ActiveCell) Selection.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True Sheets("Contact Information").Activate ActiveSheet.Range("B8").Select Selection.Copy ActiveWindow.Close ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Select PasteSpecial zlPasteValues ActiveCell.Offset(1, -1).Select Loop End Sub
I created a hyperlink to a .PDF and it works when I test it. However, when I save the file, go in later, and select the hyper link I am met with a 'Cannot open the specified file' message.
I have had this prior in Excel. The hyperlink works fine in Outlook, Word, and Access...
I'm currently working on a problem that I'm having with Hyperlinks. Basically I want to copy the destination data that the hyperlink points to onto another sheet.
The main problem I'm having here is that I cant seem to find a suitable method to do this....I had the idea of using the hyperlink.follow function and then copying the data once I'm there and then moving back to the source hyperlink. My only problem with that is that I dont know how to find the cell address that the hyperlink is in, once I have found that hyperlink.
Therefore my question is two-fold:
- Is there a way to copy the destination data using some sort of hyperlink function? - If not, is there a way to find the cell address within a worksheet, once a hyperlink is found on that worksheet?
I've attached the spreadsheet below to give a better idea of what Im doing, along with the "findHyperlinks" macro, within that workbook, that I am currently working on.
I have column "A" a list of my PDF filenames and File path in Column "B". I want to establish hyperlinks for each of these PDF filenames (column A) and link it with the file path that I generated in Column B.
=HYPERLINK(B1,A1) did it very well, but unfortunately when converting to PDF, the hyperlink is not working, and I believe the conversion retained is only in text, so now my only resort is hardcoding it by VBA.
Is it possible to do hyperlink to a specific cell in one of the tabs of another excel file? I managed to link to another excel but can't make it go to a particular cell.
I have an excel spreadsheet on a network, and I need to be able to email a link to the spreadsheet to everyone who needs to use it.
I have done the formula =cell("filename") to get the filepath, i have created a userform which initialises textbox1 to pick up the filename. I have written a macros to create an email, it puts in the subject and the body of the message. In the body of the message is the value of textbox1, but i cannot get it to format this filepath as a hyperlink.
Here's the code in it's entirity i have done:
[VBA] Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() ESubject = "A Workbook has been created which requires your input." SendTo = ""
I want to put a hyperlink into an existing spreadsheet (which already has some hyperlinks in) but for some reason that option is now greyed out on my tool bar.
For Mac Excel 2011, though I think my question would apply to any modern version of Excel.
This is a little odd. I have a sheet where, for various reasons (see below ### if interested), I need to copy a hyperlink, replace a substring, and then return the new hyperlink (with old friendly text) to the original cell. (I actually have to do this with an arbitrarily-long column of links.) This was my plan of attack:
* Pull the URL from the hyperlink cell. * Use FIND and RIGHT to strip out what I need and replace it * Use HYPERLINK to build a new cell with the original friendly text and the new hyperlink. * (Manually) copy this new link (really, a column of links) back to the original cell (really, column of cells).
Here's where it breaks down:
a) If I simply cut-and-paste, the formula used to pull the hyperlink becomes circular (as do several others), and Excel complains. b) If I cut-and-paste-special (values only), I get just the friendly text, no link info. Likewise if I try to reference the "fixed" hyperlink.
The erroneous hyperlinks are in column K. My calculated correct hyperlinks are in column S. (There are similar errors and fixes in L and T, respectively.)
I am using excel 2007. My workbook contains a tab with several buttons with hyperlinks to corresponding other tabs in the workbook. The hyperlink works fine when the tabs are visible, but do not work when I hide the tabs.
Is there a way use hyperlinks on tabs that are hidden?
I am having difficulty writing code to insert a hyperlink from a command button on a userform. I have set up a worksheet to be a data base for a lot of new files which are being created on a daily basis. The userform when activated asks the user to input certain information about the new file being stored in the data base (ie file name, date created, relevant project, description, who created it, etc). I have put a command button on the userform which I would like to activate the "Insert Hyperlink" menu so the user can then navigate to the location of the file being stored and have that hyperlink stored in a cell against the file when the "Submit" button is clicked on the userform.
I have read almost every thread on inserting hyperlinks with vba but none seem related to my needs. Using Windows 7 and Excel 2007
I have a hyperlink from cell M2 in a worksheet to cell B2 in another worksheet. I typed the cell reference on the target worksheet as B2. this works fine. The problem is that when I copy/paste the hyperlink down the column, the reference cell stays at B2. I need the reference cell to change when copied down to B3, B4, etc.
with the following: The VBA macro I am using, is derived from the excellent "Table of Contents" macro written by Erik Van Geit, a few years ago.
I have a workbook (in Excel 2007, Windows XP) with an Index sheet and 200 other sheets (called ScreenShot1 to ScreenShot200). Each of these 200 sheets has had an image pasted in the top left corner.
At present, using the macro below, a hyperlink is placed in cell A1 on each of these 200 sheets (it's behind the image) that links to cell M1 on the Index sheet. What I would like this macro to do is make each image the hyperlink back to cell M1 on the Index sheet. Please note that the images are not named.
VBA code below,
Sub create_TOC() Dim i As Integer Dim msg As String Dim fc_order As Range Dim sht As Object '**** EDIT the following lines **** Const TOC = "Table of Contents" Const Index = "Index" Const CellLink = "A1" '**** END EDIT ****
