Dec 21, 2011Having problems with the code below on a 2010 Excel spreadsheet. The function flags me at first line and highlights Mid. I get a "compile error, cannot find project or library". I'm trying to set GetSheetName = m_sSheet but the GetSheetName function is not declared as returning any type.

Excel 2010 :: VBA Sheets Copy Function Works But Then Jumps To Beginning Of Function
Apr 8, 2014I'm having trouble using the worksheet copy command in a VBA subroutine. I have the following line in my code:

When I step through my code and execute this line, the sheet is copied as expected and put in the correct place, but then instead of the next line of code being highlighted, the pointer jumps to the first line of a function (in a different module) in my code.

I have a list of cities that i want to cross reference across a cloumn of notes on another sheet. So, I really want to search for the city (Sheet1 Cell A1) in Notes Sheet2 Cell A1) and I want to return it in Sheet1 Cell B1 Whether it exisits in the notes. Table 1 is a long list of unique items in no particular order, each of which belongs to a unique group of items, for example:

Table 2 lists all the Group ID numbers and in the same row as each Group ID number, shows the names of all the items belonging to that group, one item in each column. Different Groups have different numbers of items in them. For example:
Group IDItem1 Item2 Item3 etc.

Is there a formula I can use in the second column of Table 1 to look for each item in Table 2 and tell me what group it is in? For example for "apple" or "pear" or "grape" it would look in Table 2 and return the Group ID number "214".

Aug 8, 2012I have row 2 formatted as a fraction and row 1 formatted as percentage.
I am looking for way to return the percentage of row 2 in row 1. I.E. If i have 3/4 in a2, I want it to return 75% in a1. I have figured a formula to return a percentage for numbers with only 1 item to the left of the division sign (i.e., 3/4). That correctly returns 75%. I am struggling with working a formula to also return larger numbers (e.g. 12/15).

Notice, there are two surnames in H4, so one of the surnames would be returned into I4 and the other one into J4.
I'm able to write formula to strip out everything and return the surname but only if there's one surname in the cell, I can't figure how to do it when there are two.

I'm using pdfcreator because the code also has to be used with excel2003 on another pc. The problem is that I get an error (probably for trying to open the newly creating pdf-file).

I'm trying to add an event so that when user click on a choice a macro is fired using the selected item as citeria for a filter When I click on the drop down and make a selection I receive this error msg:
Cannot find the macro "cboUserSelection_Change" The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled
I also tried _AfterUpdate - similar error message.
I added the Combo Box code to the Worksheet code, not a standard module
I was able to run a quick test macro so I do not believe "all macros are disabled"

VBA SQL Syntax Error 1004
Aug 16, 2007When running a Macro I am getting an error message as follows:
Run-time error '1004':SQL Syntax error
The line of code which appears to be effected is:
.refresh Backgroundquery:=False
I dont really know what this part of the code is trying to do and why it is highlighted yellow when I try and run the code. I am basically importing data from Access to Excel and this line is the last line of the code. If I remove this line, the error does not occur and the code completes. However, the data from Access is not imported so I am assuming it is an important part of the code!

Apr 5, 2014I have my data arranged in a table on sheet1 as shown below.
Columns B to H contain the hours each person normally works on the days of the week Sun to Sat. In columns I to O are the hours that each person has booked as holiday for that week.
On sheet2 I would like to be able to enter a holiday day in C1. In A3 to A15 I would then have a list of all the people who will be working on that day and in C3 to C15 have a list of the people who are on holiday so the output on sheet 2 would look like this.
Basically I'm after the formulas for A3 and C3 that can be copied down the column depending on how big my table gets. I am using Excel 2010.
Excel 2010 :: Testing Userform - Divide By Zero Error
Mar 26, 2013I'm the final stages of testing a userform that, in response to a button click, copies certain cells from a big messy worksheet and pastes the relevant ones (based on user input) in a clean sheet. Suddenly, I started getting a 'divide by zero' error for the following line:
VB : UpCount = PickNum - 6 + ((PickNum / 12))
UpCount and PickNum are both declared as Double, though this shouldn't matter. UpCount is being assigned a value here for the first time, and PickNum varies from 1 to about 250 depending on input.
Obviously I'm only dividing by a constant here, which is VISIBLY not zero. This error only occurs for certain ranges of PickNum...something like 50-70. Interestingly, in trying to debug it, I added:

Msgbox(54/12)
...since PickNum was 54 as I was getting this error. Just dividing 54 by 12 ALSO got a div by zero error.
Perhaps I should mention I'm using VBA in Excel 2010 for Mac.

I extracted data from .pdf to Excel using Able2Extract. Now I need to scrub the output a bit.
I see commonalities in the data for the start and stop of each set of data that I can key in on.
Once I find the start and stop points for each set of data I would like to fill all rows in-between the points and then discard anything that remains outside of these boundaries.
I have something wrong in my logic, way too many rows are deleted.
