Excel Asks To Update Values By Loading New File

I'm doing a Vlookup and when I copy down the formula Excel asks me to update the values by opening a new document. But this I can't or don't want to do - but I can't get rid of the box that asks me update the values with a new file.

How to remove this?

I am copying fomulas from one row to the next. Then I am using the Find and Replace tool to replace some key text. This technique has worked 65 times. Now when I try to Replace All a box comes up asking me to Update Values for the text im replacing. Why is this happening?

Excel 2007 :: Add-in Not Loading When Opening File

I have an excel add-in which is a ribbon which houses a great deal of financial tools that I use on a regular basis so I don't have to hunt around excel for things I use regularly. The add-in has always loaded automatically whenever I opened excel - whether I opened excel by creating a new blank document or by double clicking a previously existing file.

Starting a few days ago though, the add-in only opens when opening excel by creating a new blank file. I can't think of anything that changed recently. Using Excel 2007.

Even when opening a file by double clicking, Excel still says the add-in is active (in excel options).

Printing Multiple Excel Files - Asks Me To Save Every Time

I'm trying to print out multiple excel sheets in which it asks me if I want to save the changes or not every time. I have macro settings set to low so I always accept the macros, if I don't have them set to low I'm always asked the question of whether or not I want to run the macro for over 20+ files. Anyone ever had similar problems when printing multiple files?

Excel 2003 :: Printing Multiple Files With Explorer But Asks To Save Changes?

When selecting multiple excel files in explorer, you can right click and choose to print the selected documents. All documents gets opened and printed but the files stay open and you have to manually click on YES or NO to save the changes.

Is there a way not to see this window appear. So documents get opened and printed and closes itself without asking anything. Maybe it can be done with an option in the preferences. I'm not sure.

By the way the documents where created with excel vba just in case it's relevant. Also the version of Excel is an older version, I think it was Excel XP or 2002/2003.

Excel 2010 :: File To Update Just Once Per Day?

I have an Excel 2010 workbook that is fairly slow to open (10-15 secs) because it is rather formula heavy. This workbook is opened by quite a few different people every day. What I would like to do is to open the file overnight using windows Task Scheduler and to update the file (using a workbook open event macro) and then for the rest of that day whenever the file is opened the formulas do not update until overnight the next day (and so on and so on).

I thought maybe toggling the Calculation Manual off/on? Would this be the best tactic?

I am using the following Macro to load a selected sheet:

This works fine as long as I load the file named Test Data, lolz, but on the line"Application.Dialogs(xlDialogOpen).Show", I actually select the file to be loaded. how can and what should I change on the line "Windows("Test Data.xls").Activate" to achieve this

and also

at the very end of the macro I want to close the loaded file without the save box coming up.

Excel To HTML - Auto Publish With File Update

Im trying to use excel as part of an real time display system, what im looking to do is after xx time period import some data (which is fine, I have that bit sorted), then save to as html- (hopefully using excel 07 abilty to repubish data to update the same file with more info).

I have added some Javascript to the html file to auto scroll, and then will be adding a refresh script which should hopefully update the display with any new info genrated from excel...

so far I have found the following code, but could do with a hand to tie it all up!

I'm just trying to figure out how to implment UDFs. I got a nice tool that provides linear interpolation for a data table. Unfortunately after saving, closing and opening the file the cells only show #NAME? in it. Do I have to activate macros or something like that?

I've created a sheet to estimate a job project and now I am working on a new sheet to keep track of our estimated totals compared with actual expenses.

What I need is to make a macro that allows you to browse the PC and let the user select the excel sheet where all the Estimate Values are stored. These stored values are pulled up and posted onto the new workbook.

I am having a workbook (say a.xlsm) which has value entry fields and some values are given to another workbook (say b.xlsm) which has some sort of calculations and the result is projected back to the book a. most of the time book b will be closed. I am using Excel 2010.

I opened and saw that the result which is calculated and projected from workbook b is not getting updated. I opened the workbook b and saw that the values I have entered in a has not been updated in b. note that I am opening one book at a time and I do click on update links when I am asked.

Loading And Saving Time Values

I have created a userform which is initiated off a button in her spreadsheet, where if she enters an order number, it will display the values from the row containing that order number. I have made it so she can load from the excel sheet the values into textboxes, where she can change values then save them back into the excel sheet.

I have also include the ability to insert a new row at the end for a new order.

Everything works fine except the date values and I'm a bit stumped, I have searched but can't find anything that helps (I thought DateSerial helped but it didn't).

I've had two problems. the first was that the day and month swapped, I could load 1st Mar 2007 from the excel sheet and when stored back it changed to 3rd Jan 2007. This I presume to be due to US and UK date formats, I am in the UK.

I thought I had fixed this by changing:

My set up office 2007 win xp pro ie8

is it possible using vba ideally with a button marked save, to save a single worksheet and name it, in CSV format

Then I would like to be able to do the reverse load a CSV file back in to a work sheet

Expanding upon this

1. Click a command button with caption “save”

2. Take the name of a given sheet, in my case DataToUpLoad and append it with a number to give a sheet name of DataToUpLoad 1 the first time it is save and DataToUpLoad 2 the next time and so on

3. Click another command button with the caption “load” interact with usual dialog box.

My current work around is to copy a sheet open a new work book past the sheet in the save that work book as CSV

The reason this is required is to mate up with the php on the server side

Excel 2013 :: Not Loading Listbox With Sheet Names From Another Workbook

I've created a macro that loads a listbox with the sheet names from another workbook. It works fine with Excel 2007-2010 but some reason fails with 2013. It doesn't crash, it just doesn't add items to the listbox nor doest it add the caption to Userform1.Caption. It does launch the form. Here is the code snippet:

Loading Excel Range With Vba-array Blows Up In Office > 2000

I am using the following

xlrng.cells(5,1).resize(5,5) = myarray

If my array contains a text column with any text cell element > 900 bytes
office 2003 and greater blow up

in office 2000 it automatically truncates it without blowing up

if i write my own load loop, and load each cell individually
it works great no-poroblemo, its just extremely slow!

Is there any magic way to get this working correctly without truncation
and without blowing up?

Workbook Still Asks To Save On Exit?

I have some code that does some maintenance on my workbook, calls a second macro to delete all of the VBA and saves it with a new name.

However, after it finishes and I try to exit Excel, I am still prompted to save the workbook. I'm not sure why because the last thing my code does is save the workbook and no additional changes have been made.

Importing Values From .xml File Into An Excel Row?

Basically, I have a column that contains a list of names of files without the extension, ie "A2=File1" What I want, is for excel to open the file associated with the name in the column, "(A2).xml", and extract a value from that.xml file and insert it into B2.

I have searched and all of the examples I find aren't quite what I am looking for. I have an add-in that works exactly the way I want it, but does not extract certain values that I need it to. This is a commercial add-in so I don't have the source code for it or else this would be a snap.

I have a folder containing 40 single sheet excel workbooks and I would like to automate following tasks:

- Open each excel file (need to open the file so as to update it since it gets the data from another workbook through =formulas)

- Copy paste as values

- Save this as excel html in the same folder as original excel files (keeping the original file name)

- Close (original excel file should not be changed ie formulas should remain in place, only the html file will contain values)

- Since there will always be xHtml files with same name need the macro to replace the excisting file

My abilities with excel are limited to functions, no VBA knowledge other than finding ready codes and pasting them in the module.

Since this routine is to be run almost daily the macro should run all files, instead of one by one.

I just hope that I am not asking too much for excel to handle and I hope that explanation is clear.

I'd like my macro (in an Excel 2010 workbook) to copy values from three worksheet cells and append them to an existing Access or SQL database file -- without having to leave my Excel spreadsheet or open any other programs. The database file simply needs to be appended. Keeping a running list. That file isn't being used for anything else, we can set it up however is necessary to do this.

For example, Excel cells A1, A2, and A3. Representing Job Name, Job Number and Job Total.

Update Col2 Values To Col1 Values

I've got e.g. two rows of numbers -

667 667

and want to update col2 values to col1 values. Col 1 is always sorted low to high. For some reason I can't figure this out, whichever end I start from will change numebrs prematurely and muck everything up.

But it's got to be simple, hasn't it ? ! It's in a macro, not a worksheet and there may be more or less then the 5 in the example above.

I do not want to import the file into excel and do a vlookup. I am thinking of a macro that prompts the user for the file location ( txt file) and then scans the txt file and updates the fields. how to go about doing this or have any code I can use?
