I want a monthly median average of the numbers on the right which correspond to the dates on the left. So for example. I want to make an equation that gives me the median of all the numbers on the right if they fall within the range of a certain month(in this case October). I've tried These:

I'm working on more code to take data from hotel reports, compile totals and transfer data to several other workbooks. In prior instances, I'd been working with data that had been converted from Adobe .pdf format, so while the cell values appeared to be dates, they actually were text. I'd come up with a solution to find the first of each month in a column of dates and insert a row at that point. However, I'm now working on this with a system that actually outputs in Excel format. As such, the date column is actually normal date serial value, rather than text and my code doesn't work. What can I do to modify this snippet of code to find the first of each month and insert a row when the values in the column are actual date serials?
Here's the current code:
With Sheets("Sheet1")
For RowToInsert = .UsedRange.Rows.Count To 14 Step -1
If (Range("A" & RowToInsert) Like "*/01/*") Then Rows(RowToInsert).EntireRow.Insert
If (Range("A" & RowToInsert) Like TodayVisualMatrix) Then
Rows(RowToInsert).EntireRow.Insert
Range("A" & RowToInsert).Value = "Subtotal"
End If
Next RowToInsert
End With
Row 3 doesn't find anything because while they appear in that format, the value of the cell isn't */01/*....

I am looking for help. Sheet1 B1:1 has dates in each column in ascending order for one month. There are missing dates in between the days and they might look like this.
Example 1
7/1/20097/2/20097/6/20097/7/2009
Is there a code that will insert columns with the missing dates between the dates that already exist so that example 1 would become example 2?
Example 2
7/1/20097/2/20097/3/20097/4/20097/5/20097/6/20097/7/2009

I have a sequence(or a series is more proper) of dates(without the hours) for. exapmple: 10/22/2007,1025/2007,10/25/2007. What I need is to insert rows with the missing dates. I found a VBE code for a macro which does the work but now the problem is that in some rows the dates are the same and if I have two times 10/25/2007 it adds the row with the next date after the first one and all messes up.
Range("A2").Select
Do Until ActiveCell.Value = Empty
If ActiveCell.Value = ActiveCell.Offset(-1, 0).Value + 1 Then
ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
Else
ActiveCell.EntireRow.Insert
ActiveCell.Value = ActiveCell.Offset(-1, 0).Value + 1
ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
End If
Loop

I have 2 spreadsheets. One is a promotion calendar that lists the dates that promotions on a certain product runs. The other is a shipment grid of shipments of that product to the customer.
I want VLookup to find the customer and the dates and then bring me back an asterisk in a separate column to show me that that certain week that product was delivered was a promotion week. The problem I have is using Vlookup to lookup 2 things at once (and if they match to the promotion calendar) and return me an asterisk.
Here is my formula now:
=IF(VLOOKUP(J2&" "&L2,'East Data'!M:AU,2,FALSE),"*",0)
J2 is the customer name
L2 is the week
"East Data" is the spreadsheet with all of the promotions and customers.

I have tried many different ways of coming up with a solution of this problem without writing a VBA program, however, Excel's date and time formatting scheme seem to be tripping me up. As a result, I am trying to figure out what direction to go.
I have seached the board up and down looking for a solution and I have found one problem that is midly similar but I do not fully understand the code. I have tried to modify it but to no avail.
Here is my problem:
I have 9 columns of data that are reported in 15 minute intervals for a little over 3 years. There are missing data in the data set and it would be infeasable for me to manually find and replace the missing data. (Over 110000 rows of data)
Example of data (Where "/" delienates column seperation):
Date / Temp 2m / Temp 10 m / Radiation / RH / WindAve / WindMax / WindMin / Rain
6-1-06 12:15 am / 45 / 35 / .0001 / 95 / 5 / 7 / 3 / 0
6-1-06 12:30 am / 45 / 35 / .0001 / 95 / 5 / 7 / 3 / 0
6-1-06 12:45 am / 45 / 35 / .0001/ 95 / 5 / 7 / 3 / 0
6-2-06 6:00 pm / 45 / 35 / .0001 / 95 / 5 / 7 / 3 / 0
6-2-06 6:15 pm / 45 / 35 / .0001 / 95 / 5 / 7 / 3 / 0
So what I need to do is this:
1) Find which data times are missing
2) Add the appropriate amount of rows in between where the missing data would be
3) Add the correct dates to the new rows
4) Add "N/A" to the columns that have no data
You can see that my date and time are formatted in mm/dd/yy hh:mm
I found this on the website and was trying to modify it to my needs:
Sub InsRow()
Dim c

I have a file with approx 3600 rows. In Col B there is a 13 digit EAN-13 code. I would like to find out which numbers are missing. I have to compare each cell from top to bottom in the B-column to the cell below and find out if there are some missing numbers. If the numbers are incremental then goto next cell. But if there's a gap in the numbers then it should insert the missing numbers with an increment of 1.
I think the logic statement should look like this:
i = 1
For x = 1 to last row
If the gap between B(i) and B(i+1) < 1 then
Insert a row and put the missing value in the cell on the new row.
Endif
i = i+1
Next x
The comparison has to be made from the 5 digits in place 8-12 in the code.
Here's an example (i've dimmed the digits that shouldn't be compared):
7330985920714
7330985920721
7330985920738
7330985920776
As you see there's a missing number between the third and fourth row. Here the value should be 733098592074 + the checksum that is a bit tricky to calculate.
Between the fifth and sixth row there are four missing numbers that has to be filled in.
The checksum is OK to leave out at this moment. The important thing is to get the 5 digits.

I get a ledger dump every month with 20,000 lines of all transactions. There are 1,200 ledger codes, ten departments, and thirty activities. Each of the 20,000 lines has columns with the ledger code, a department, an activity, and other data. There are tens of thousands of possible combinations of ledger code, department and activity.
I have most of the ones which are commonly used every month, and I use them to create a =sumif summary which totals all the same concatenations of ledger code&department&activity. However, every now and again a new permutation arrives and I need to find it and then create the new concatenation for the =sumif to use in the summary. Is there any way to do this by running a routine which will locate the new combination and create the concatenation in the =sumif summary?

i need to find the missing numbers from 12 rows of 20 numbers.
ie, i have these numbers (only between 1-80) and need to find the *normally* 2 numbers that are not in that list between 1-80. there are 14 rows in this example
134810131417182832464855565758596475
412131417212223303235374044545861707880

311161719212225262829404447586063697578
126713162326353638394652535863707678
710172021272930414445464750515569727374
[code].....
these numbers wont be the same every time, but in theory after i enter 12 rows there should be only 5/6 numbers left max.
i need a script so that when i copy/paste 12 rows, i can be presented with the numbers not in that field. or even if i have a field of 1-80 displayed, then i copy paste my numbers in the fields below and can somehow highlight which numbers between 1-80 aren't in my pasted fields on the 1-80 field.
btw the numbers missing here are 24-68
ps im using excel starter 10 if that makes a difference

I am trying to write a code enabling some calculations. As part of this code I want to find an integer in an excel range. I set the variable (integer) as Rvalue and wrote the following:
Selection.Find(Rvalue).Activate
which works fine as long as the find is successful. The issue I have however is when the variable cannot be found. I tried using the "iserror" function in vba but it appears that excel/vba does not recognise this issue as an error; I could use an excel formula (i.e. if(iserror(vlookup...) but I would prefer to find out how to handle the issue in vba.
