I want to write a macro that will check every selected cell. It should detect if there is a space after the fourth character. If there is a space, go to the next selected cell. If there is no space, add a space and go to the next selected cell.

I want to remove the front zero(s) from the front and put a space before the last two letters for the following column of data in Excel:
0001MG
0020MG
0100MG
1000MG
Final result will have this format and the data are right aligned.
1 MG
20 MG
100 MG
1000 MG
The numbers can vary (e.g. 0150MG, 0025MG,etc.) but the arrangement is always the same: four figures for the first 4 characters and two letters for the last two characters.
The format of the cells containing the data is: “General”
My table has 7 columns and these data are in the 5th column in a worksheet called “ProductSummary”. The number of rows for the records can vary from 10 to over a couple of hundred.
How can I use VBA to: 1) automatically select the table range in that worksheet and reformat all the data in the 5th column.

there is AT() which finds the first occurrence of a string searching from the left like FIND() and SEARCH(), and RAT() which finds the first occurrence searching from the right-to-left.
A single column with names:
John Doe
Jane Marie Smith
Dr. Alex R. Jones
Bill
I need two columns that would look like:
John.................Doe
Jane Marie........Smith
Dr. Alex R.........Jones
Bill

Below is the "real formula"
=IF(SUM($F$4-$E$4)= 0," ",SUM($F$4-$E$4)) 'If the value is 0 then enter a space in the cell.
And below is the VBA formula
"=if(sum(" & LastRowCell & "-" & FirstRowCell & ")= 0," & " " & ",sum(" & LastRowCell & "-" & FirstRowCell & "))"
The real formula works, but I am having having difficulties with the syntax of the VBA formula. The above VBA formula works to, but enters a 0 in the cell instead of a space.

I'm having the following little problem, and i'm hoping that
someone here can help me solve it.
I have a number of rows containing data starting at row 1.
I already made VBA code which finds the last row containing data.
That row number is stored in the variable "LastRowWithData".
What i want to do now is the following.
In column B (in row 1 to the row number stored in "LastRowWithData"),
there are long code's which all have to be checked for unwanted characters.
Some of these unwanted characters are the "I" and "O" characters both in
upper case and lower case.
If these characters are found a messagebox has to appear, saying something
like "Illegal character found in cell ____".
If more than one cell containing unwanted characters are found, either more
messageboxes with the cell coordinates have to be displayed or one messagebox
displaying all the cell coordinates in which the unwanted characters are found.
Im planning to use a while - wend statement to check all cells for unwanted
characters. (While ActiveCell.Row LastRowWithData)
Is there a simple way to do this in (Excel 2003) VBA ?

i bought a tattslotto scratch card (for those of ya outside of australia, not sure what youd call em, basically lottery ticket/game), this game is essentially a crossword puzzle, you scratch your letters out in a box then you have a list of words, you need to find words that are made up entirely of your letters, the more words you find, the more you win ive kind of screwed up the card and scratched out words i dont have, however i do have atleast 2 words and i think ive got more, potentially could win big but wanna know how much before i go claim it
ive opened up a new workbook, in the A column ive got a list of all my words, then in C1 ive got a field where ive entered all my letters, wondering if theres a way to get excel to work it out for me (like an IF statement on the fields in column A to compare them to C1, or some kind of conditional formatting rule)

I have tried several combos or Left and Right, I have been able to get the values after the first space, and the values before the last space, but not between the spaces.
String: Y60
~C CULT NUCLEUS 3X2 SPRING WST BK XL
Desired results: D60

I have been trying to write two formulas in one cell. I have been able to write them both separately but have been unable to join them both together. What I am trying to do if first search name them how many reoccurring numbers appear. I have provided an example below
a b c d
1 Tom 333
2 Sam 22
3 Sam 22
4 John 5
5 Sam 22
6 Sam 1
7 Tom 3
8 Tom 333
So the answer would be
Tom = 2
Sam = 2
John = 1

So we have people's names in a table. First name in one column and last name in another column. We have a 3rd column where we can use 8 characters to do a combination of First 5 of Last Name + first 3 of first name. However, if someone's last name is only 3 or 4 characters, we'd then want to take more from the first name to fill out the 8 characters.
So:
Charles Johnson -> Johnscha
John Smith -> Smithjoh
Willian Wu -> Wuwillia
What's the best way to do that without creating some crazy formula with tons of if/thens?
