Finding Atribute Last Accessed Date Of A File And Make It A Range Value

I want to place the atribute (Date as value): "LastAccessDate" of a file called "!FileSessionStart.nwd" in Sheet1.Cell A2 in my workbook - without opening/accessing" this "C:/so-and-so/!FileSessionStart.nwd" - just want to read and use the last accessed date of it.

How will a macro go finding this atribute of this particular file and place this atribute as value as described?

The filepath of it is valued in celle A1

Macro To Capture Who Accessed The File

Anyone know of a way to capture who (user name, machine name etc.) had the excel file open when a certain cell is selected? a Macro?

Trying to use an Excel spreadsheet for a peer review where each reviewer accesses the Excel peer reivew file and enters the minutes they spent in the peer review but would like to also capture the user that had the file open when the minutes spent on the peer review were entered. This would provide proof that the actual peer reviewer opened the file and entered their minutes.

What I'm trying too do is open a file, make an exact copy and save it under a new file name.

My problem is in the date formula the day is not always the same. In the sample case it's 03 at other times the day will change.

is there a way too get this too work irregardles of what the day might be?

Workbook A has VBA code. The VBA code opens a collection of 2000 workbooks. The workbooks are processed one at a time, with Workbook A opening Workbook B, do something, close Workbook B, get next workbook. Sometimes Workbook B has some kind of access issue that results in:

"[File Name] cannot be accessed. The file may
be read-only, or you may be trying to
access a read-only location. Or, the
server the document is stored on may
not be responding.
RETRY ... CANCEL"

If RETRY is clicked, the process returns the same message. If CANCEL is clicked, the process is crashed, Excel is closed, and all data processed is lost. What is the VBA syntax to programmatically trap this condition so it can be processed in an orderly manner?

Finding Latest Date In A Range Dependent On Record Variable

I have this table as my simple little database and I have to extract some info from it and keep track of dates and deadlines...

I have to get the following data, I need to lookup the last visit date out of all dates associated with a specific name in column "A".

This requires that I test an unsorted table for a value in column "A", i.e. "test2". Then determine which record has the latest date.

In other words, If I test for the value "test2" in column "A", I find I have 2 records, with dates ranged across "D4:F4 and D7:F7".

I need to return the latest date found in those ranges...

The purpose here is to write a function that will find a range of dates associated with a name in an unsorted table, from that range find the latest date, then add 90 days to that date and display the results....

I have been trying to employ a form of, =VLOOKUP(E3,$B$3:$D$11,MATCH($F$1,$B$1:$D$1,0),FALSE) and =INDEX(Table_Array,MATCH(Lookup_Value,Lookup_Array,0),Col_Index_Num) combined with "IF" functions, but to be totally honest I am COMPLETELY lost here....

Within a user entered range of two dates, I would like to identify the individual calendar date(s) and count the number of Mondays which fall within the specified date range.I will eventually be using the same "Monday" code to find the same data for every day of the week within the dates ranges, but I figured I'd start with Mondays and build from there.

For Example: Date range 1/1/2013 - 1/15/2013 (date ranges could potentially encompass a full business quarter) Within the range, list each of the dates as dates. I am trying to make Excel pull data out of a closed file based on a date range. The closed file is a log where people input data and enter the day they are doing it. I need to pull this data in my file and make it print into my worksheets so I can pass a report on to others with only the data they request from the log.

Excel 2007 :: Add Attachment To Spreadsheet That Can Be Accessed By Others?

I'm using Excel 2007, and when I add attachements to a spreadsheet cell (e.g. a saved email) nobody else can open the file when viewing the spreadsheet. Is there a way around this?

Currently I'm inserting it by going Object > Create from File > Browse > Select File > Display as Icon. But if the spreadsheet is emailed to anyone else or put on a staff website nobody can open the attachements.

Is there any way to have a input box pop up after a Prescribed number of days or on a particular date and from that point on prompting the user to enter a password that I created (hard coded into the code)In order for the workbook to open If the password is not entered or is not correct then the workbook will close.After the pasword is enterd then the workbook would open from that point on(the input box would be disabled) Also this macro would have to be password protected in order to prevent the user from accessing the code.

Excel 2010 :: Workbook Not Closing Correctly When Accessed Via Link On Sharepoint Site

I was asked to create a userform for the use of our whole team which would enable them to select a name from a dropdown list and then it would display their business contact details in the rest of the form.

I'm running Office 2010 and Windows XP server/enterprise edition (not quite sure which). After some research I've managed to use VBA code to open the userform while hiding the workbook, then when the close button is clicked it closes the user form and it's associated workbook using the code below.

I have attached three excel files .....In the file called 'sampleBook1latest' I have a button called 'click here to clear a schedule' If I click that button and choose OR,start time and duration of a surgery then a schedule that is already created wil get cleared.....I have the total number of nurses and number of nurses used saved to the side of the sheet..... The total number of nurses at the side is read from another excel file called 'Input file for # of nurses'

Now the problem is that if clear a schedule then the number of nurses used is not getting updated at the side.....if I clear a schedule then the number of nurses at the side should also get updated....for example(If I create a schedule with 3 nurses and if only a total of 3 nurses are available then..... the used number of nurses for that specific time at the side will get updated to 3 from 0 and if I clear that schedule then the used nurses for that time should again become 0)....

The other problem is that if I schedule a surgery then all details of the surgery will be saved in another excel sheet called 'input file for patient details' so if I clear a schedule then all the details of that surgery saved in that excel sheet should also be cleared......

How To Make File Path Independent

How can I make the files path independent. Lets say I have 6 workbooks, one of them having macro that connects all the six books. While working on my pc, I entered the file locations by myself. The macro runs fine.

Now I have to send the files to someone and would not like them to add their download directory at most places in the code. I want that after downloading, they have to only open the main file and press the button to run macro. How should I do that.

Right now am using this approach:-

and similar code for calling other files.

names have been changed to protect the innocent. But now either putting in to repoen the original working excel or manually opening it puts me in an infinite loop of backing up. The probelm seems to be that to make a copy it is making the open workbook the backup. So two part question here:

1. Can I make a copy under the same name automatically when the file is opened while staying in the current one?
Example: open the Excel file "Working Copy", which makes a mirror file called "Backup Copy", but stay in "Working Copy".

2. From what I did manage to do, I notice every time it asks if I want to overwrite. I chose "Yes" when recording the macro but this doesn't seem to get captured. can I make it automatically yes without being asked?
