Magazine subscription list. How to highlight the customers that are already in the sheet if enter them again (renewal). Our list is like so....
ColA ColB ColC ColD ColE ColF
First Last 123 Ave City State Zip
Is there a way to highlight the row if the info on ColA, ColB, ColE, and ColF all match? Sometimes the Street info is abbreviated or entered PO Box instread of P.O. Box and they wind up on the list a second time.

Have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet with 902 email addresses in one column, and 927 email addresses in other column, sorted in alphabetical order.
Overview: Organization database has 902 Members (some have 2 email addresses subscribed to listserv) and Organizational Listserv which has all 927 (Difference is numbers are some members have 2 email addresses subscribed) BUT 902 of emails should be the same
Objective to compare Listserv Members 927 with Database Members 902. I am trying to isolate the email addresses which do NOT exist in Listserv Column, or who do not exist in Database Column for Audit purposes. All Members from the Database column should be subscribed or entered into the Listserv column.
If it's a perfect world the 902 email addresses will all be exactly the same as 902 out of the 927 Listserv email addresses.
Trying to highlight or sort and put identical email addresses on same line or using Conditionally formatting? Highlight Cell Rules/Duplicate cell rules Even when same email addresses are on the same row conditional formatting does not recognize them.

I'm trying to remove duplicate entries from a list of names & addresses.
What I'm after is some VBA code which will examine row by row the 'post code' field and the 'Full name' field and highlight/delete duplicate entries.
Its best illustrated by an example
Full Name Address Postcode
Mr C. Verougstraete 6 somone st, Leicester HY8 9YK
Mrs R. Brazier 8 high st HY9 9LK
Mr C. Verougstraete 6 somone st, HY8 9YK
The last record is obviously a duplicate of row 2 therefore will be removed.

I need a macro that will find matching names in the columns. i have found some examples for searching one column but have not had any luck finding someway to do 2 columns. in the example below i need it to find and highlight The names Smith John.

I have a spreadsheet with columns A to W populated with data and 2470 rows
Column A has email addresses in it (2470 rows)
Column B has email addresses that are bad and are duplicated of those found in Column A there are only 345 of them in column B.
I would like to compare columns A and B and highlight the email addresses in column A that are also found in column B.
OR: If column A has a duplicate found in column B I would like the word delete to be inserted into column C of that row so I can review and then delete later.

I am not sure if Excel is able to do this but basically I am looking to find out which rows have some duplicate values. I have just read this back and it doesn't make a great deal of sense so I have attached an example spreadsheet.
Basically I am looking to find if E1:G1 duplicates further on down the list, hope this makes a bit more sense with the example attached.

For my job I have to take hundreds of codes and compare them to other codes. For example, in column A I'll have 453 codes, in column B I'll have 352 and in column 97. I want to find common codes for all three columns. Sometimes, I'll have just two columns and sometimes it's multiple columns. I have tried a few formulas but nothing works that well. I have a data set which has 6 columns (and lots of rows). Every row is different but I want to aggregate them based on 4 fields and then find the average of the numerical column for the results. I basically want to Group based on 4 fields and find the average of the 5th field.
My initial approach was to introduce a column which is a combination of the 4 fields I want to group by, simply in the Excel file (=A2&B2&C2&D2) and then find duplicates of that. I have a solution for this in VBA but when importing new data sets in this method is very slow, so I want to be able to do the whole thing in VBA.

I have a spreadsheet that has a long list of charges... some of those charges have multiple codes attached to them... when this happens I am wanting to group them together and let the user pick which one they want to view at one time.
Here is a very small example of what exactly I am referring to... with charge #14 I am wanting it to combine and let the user pick between 2565 and 2566. The problem is that the values can range and will not always be 2565 & 2566 and there is 10,000 + records similar to this.

As you can see in the example below, in column B I have a list of vendor names, some of which are similar but not identical. (For Example, in one instance a vendor will be called "Ford Motor Co.", while in another it will be called "Ford Motor Inc.".
I need to populate column C, which at every instance where two plants (listed in column A) have similar vendor names in Column B, a universal name will be assigned and recorded in column C for each of the similar names.
HOpefully it is clear as shown below.......

I want to delete rows that are a subset of any other row. Not manually, as there are thousands of rows. For example, in the attached file, row 4 is a subset of row 5 (also row 12 of row 13, row 14 of row 15, and both rows 21 and 22 of row 23).

I have an excel file which contains two sheets. In one sheet there are some numbers in a single column. In the other sheet again there are certain numbers span across rows and columns (a number may be duplicated). I need to check whether there are numbers which exist in both the sheets. If such a number is found it may be marked (say with a color) in both the sheets.

I have over 400 thousand rows in my data-set and I'm trying to find duplicates using a countif or similar formula. Let's say I have the following:
Blue
Yellow
Green
Blue
Blue
Yellow
Pink
I need the formula to increment the count. So for example, the first time Blue appears, it equals 1, the second it appears, it equals 2, third time is 3 and so on.
And, I need it to actually work with 400 thousand rows. I have tried using the following formulas without success as Excel keeps crashing:
=IF((COUNTIF(T:T,$T2)>1),COUNTIF(T:T,$T2),"")=IF(COUNTIF(T:T,T2)>1,2,1)
That second one equals "2" if there's more than 1, which will work for me as well. Better would be if it increments though.
The purpose of having a count is so that I can pivot the data, then filter out all the "1"s and report on it. Therefore I can't use conditional formatting, or simply using Excels Remove Duplicates feature. I need the same data-set for other pivots and charts.

I've searched around the web for AverageIf solutions and found the CSE formulas. However I've come across a big problem I can't resolve.
I have two columns of data. Column A has _similar_ text and column B has data.
The problem is the following: AverageIf does not support finding similar text. This means that a formula like:
=AVERAGE(IF(A2:A400="Info/German*";F2:F200;FALSE)) does not work.
Column A contains words like Info/German, Info/German2, Info/Italian etc. But I only need to find the average of cells that begin with "Info/German".

I have 2 issues i am trying to work through, i have a spreadsheet with 3 data sheet tabs, the first issue i have is in Data sheet 1 I have a lot of duplicate addresses, I was wondering if there is a way to filter out the duplicate addresses so that only one of each address is showing.
Issue 2 that i have is a lot more complicated, In data sheet 1 i have a list of medical providers that reimburst at 110% or more, each address on that list needs to get 1 letter mailed to them, but i have to keep track of how many are going to each region, i.e. Columbus, OH region, Cincinnati, OH Region, Toledo, OH Region, and Cleveland, OH region. So what i want to do is create a 3rd data sheet that keeps track of total letters sent by region, but was wondering if it was possible for this info to be automatically transfered from data sheet 1 to data sheet 3. I don't need all the information in data sheet 1 to tranfer to data sheet 3. All i need is for data sheet 3 to read off the City field in data sheet 1, and calculate 1 letter sent to that region.
I dont even know if this is possible, but it is way beyond my realm of excel knowledge which isn't much.
Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to attach the spreadsheet, however it isn't allowing me to attach it, i keep getting a database error, when i upload it. It is under the max size limit too. Not sure what's going on.

I have tried looking for similar questions in the forum and couldn't find them. If you know of any, please let me know. My problem is that in one column I have peoples names that are repeated. I need to average numbers that are in the same row as their name. So for example:

this list is continually added upon monthly. So for Bryce I would be able to pull 111 and 62 and have an average of 87.5 from the pages column. But if I were to add another row farther down with his name, it would change the average.
I was thinking that a repeated vlookup would work if it stopped when there was a blank in the cell, but I am unsure on how to do this. If you have any questions, let me know. I was hoping to have it in a formula in a cell above the table.

I have what I think is a simple question. I simply want a function that shows the text string address of a named range. If I can do that I can then do a vlookup from another sheet, put the result in an address function, and in effect automatically update dynamic ranges on another sheet.
I swear I have seen this but I can't find it now. Searches result in hundreds of hits, none of them relevant.
To make sure I've explained this properly, I want to put the name of a named range in A1 and have the address of that range appear in A2.

Basically I have a list that user can select up to 6 values from. I have set them as individual strings.

I'm trying to analyze some data from customers where it finds how many phones were missing, zip codes, city, states etc.. However, im having trouble finding a solution to find complete addresses and tally it. I have 2 address columns and one either has a PO box or a normal address. With my code, if one address cell is empty, it will consider it as an incomplete address but we all know it is still a whole and complete address.

I have a pretty big worksheet (230 columns x over a thousand rows). Any given column might have 3-4 nonblank cells; the rest are blank. What I want to do for each column is obtain the address of each nonblank cell, then grab the contents of the corresponding cell in the B column and concatenate the results. In the attached example, I want to put the function in d2, and the expected result would be ar 001, fc 001, hw 003.

When entering addresses in column G, need VBA Sheet Code to extract:
1 numbers of P. O. Box & Street & put in column K of the same row
2 words P. O. Box & Street Names & put in column L of the same row.
The pound sign is always used for the apartment number, etc, after the street name. For Example:

I have a list of 200 first and last names...column A is first name, column B is last name.
I want to find their e-mail addresses easily...
My company has a website that is a searchable directory. Each person has a profile which contains the person's e-mail address in its own table.
The directory is set up such that when you search for a persons name, you get the following URL:
www.website.com/searchabc123etc=john+doe
I am looking for an easy way to do 2 things:
1) combine the first and last name from separate columns into one single column such that it appears as john+doe (include the "+" sign)
2) take the "john+doe" cell value and paste it to the end of the URL
3) run a web query using the updated URL which imports 1 specific table from the person's profile, namely, their e-mail address.
I can successfully run a web query for 1 person manually. However, I am looking for a way to do this more efficiently for a list of 200 names.

I need to find a way to create a drop down list where I have my contacts information so that if I pick a name, it will show up on my form but also have the address, phone....in the format as above so that I don't have to keep inputting the information manually as there are over 20 names.

I'm writing a purchase order entry form for my company. I've used the above formulas to create drop down lists with addresses for each of our stores and vendors, but I need form to automatically select the correct "ship to:" location. Some stores will always have merchandise shipped to the store regardless of the vendor. Other stores will always have the product shipped to a warehouse location, but in a few stores the product will be shipped either to the store or a warehouse depending on the vendor.
I've been able to work out the formulas for the stores that have shipments always to one location by creating a second address table and linking the selected store to it.
Here is basically what I need:
Store A + Vendor A = Store A
Store A + Vendor B = Store A
Store B + Vendor A = Warehouse
Store B + Vendor B = Store B
Store C + Vendor A = Warehouse
Store C + Vendor B = Warehouse
