For my job I have to take hundreds of codes and compare them to other codes. For example, in column A I'll have 453 codes, in column B I'll have 352 and in column 97. I want to find common codes for all three columns. Sometimes, I'll have just two columns and sometimes it's multiple columns. I have tried a few formulas but nothing works that well. I have a data set which has 6 columns (and lots of rows). Every row is different but I want to aggregate them based on 4 fields and then find the average of the numerical column for the results. I basically want to Group based on 4 fields and find the average of the 5th field.
My initial approach was to introduce a column which is a combination of the 4 fields I want to group by, simply in the Excel file (=A2&B2&C2&D2) and then find duplicates of that. I have a solution for this in VBA but when importing new data sets in this method is very slow, so I want to be able to do the whole thing in VBA.

I wanted to add new column with these values for table 1 including duplicates. this is sample data and i wanted to replace thousands of this type.
I have multiple columns / rows of data, some of which are duplicates.
Column S is a concat of columns A:R where this data is stored, and is sorted alphabetically.
I'm looking for a way using VBA to find duplicate concat rows by cycling through this list that is already sorted. I'm interested in moving down this list, 1 by 1, and if current cell = cell above, delete the data in columns A:P of that row, then delete the cell data in column R of the cell above the current cell.
So for example, if I have sorted data in S8:S14, and S9 = S8, then I would like to delete A9:P9, then delete the data in R8.
I have two lists and wish to compare them to identify duplicate values. I have used Duplicate Values in Conditional formatting but cannot find a way of ensuring an exact match. For example one list has the value 4150 and the other list has other values like 5641509 and 341508, both of which contain the string 4150 but are clearly not the same value. However, the conditional formatting is picking these up as duplicate values.

Is there a way to highlight the row if the info on ColA, ColB, ColE, and ColF all match? Sometimes the Street info is abbreviated or entered PO Box instread of P.O. Box and they wind up on the list a second time.
I have 12 worksheets, each with a list of email addresses in the 2nd column. These are all email addresses that did not respond by opening/clicking our newsletters. I'm trying to find how many times each person did not respond in the last 12 emails sent. I will delete those that consistently do not respond to our newsletters. I know how to do a simple vlookup but have never tried across multiple sheets.
So I guess I want it to check all sheets for each email address and count how many times it appears on these No Response email lists.
Column 1 is an email ID, Column 2 is an email address.
I am working with a nonprofit to set up their financial ledgers. There is one workbook with 12 sheets, one for each month. The goal is to be able to set up a formula that searches through all 12 sheets for every donation that a specific individual has made. For instance, let's say that John Smith gave x amount of money on 1/1/2000, y amount of money on 1/10/2000, and z amount of money on 2/2/2000. This data will appear on 2 different worksheets. I have the following formula, which allows me to look through one sheet at a time:

Where Column A in each sheet is individual name, and column B is amount donated. Sheet "Jan" is the data for the month of January, and sheet "Smith" is the culmination of John Smith's donations for the full year. Using this array function, I am able to retrieve all data for John Smith in the month of January, but I can't find a way to make one function that searches for all of John Smith's donations in each month. Is there a way to build an array function in VBA that would accomplish this?

In the example above I am trying to look up a value from columns C-E. I need to be able to search/index using 2 criteria to figure out which row to match with the given column. for example: If I want to know the invoice qty. for R&D for Jan-2012, so the returned value would be 13. I have tried several different combinations of match and index to get this to work but have had no success. Ultimately what I want to do is have a drop down for the month and year that our VP can select and it will give him the given values for that month.
I have this problem I have 4 columns which contain data. The first column is a list which contains random values from the third column. I have a file with immunophenotypic markers and their relationship to certain blood cells.
What I need to do is search the list and pull out the groups of defining markers for each blood cell. Some of the cells have many markers, some only have one but I need to find which combinations of markers identify each cell if possible.

I have a bill of materials with a description column. I want to search that column for various words (ie. wheel, screw, spacer, shelf, etc) and return a value into another new column depending on that value (wheel inputs wheel, screw inputs hardware, spacer inputs hardware, shelf inputs shelf).
How Excel shows you how to search will only return one value because I can't use an else statement:

I have a challenge related to a excel sheet we are using for personnel planning.
Vertically we have several projects with action items listed row by row in the following format:

Etc.

Horisontaly on the columns we have dates, day by day for a year +
For each day we chose from a drop down who is assigned to the action item. The problem is when there are 30-40 + projects and each have 20-30 lines of ation items it is hard to get the overview and avoid double entry. I would use conditional formating to do this, but firstly each project is separated by a line containing different formulas and I would not like the conditional formation to change these cells, and at the same time to put this up manually for each row would take a long time since there are 365 + rows.
how a VBA code could solve this little challenge? IT would also be beneficial to have it do the check upon cell change, that way we would not need to manually run the VBA to check.
how i can set 'Data Validation' to stop me from entering duplicate values across multiple columns, i can set it for a single column i.e. A1 to A100 but i am after this but for something like A1 to H100.....?

I have an array that is 1 row high by 16 columns wide.
Each cell may contain a positive value, or a zero.
I need a formula to find the "Minimum value that is greater than zero" in
columns 1,3,5,7,9,11,13 and 15.
=MIN(A1,C1,E1,G1,I1,K1,M1,O1) will always return the zero value while I
need the minimum value that is greater than zero.
If I use nested IF functions to exclude zeroes I run foul of the max of 7
allowed.
How do I select certain columns for duplicate values? When I go to conditional formatting>highlight cells rules>duplicate values it checks the whole sheet which is 20 columns by 50000 rows and freezes the PC. I just want to select certain columns for duplicates, like C and AC.

I want to add up a total for all the same kind of products eg. Magnum for each route eg. Local Top End.
Actually i have to two sheets. In (1st file) I have the data of customers. And in (2nd file) I get the approved sales. So i have to find the numbers.
In my sales sheet, there is data of customers like name, address, phone number etc.
In my sales report sheet, i got multiple numbers in a notepad file which are rejected sales.
So basically, i have to copy every number one by one, and then have to find it in my excel sheet with CTRL+F and then i change the color of that cell which is rejected.
I want magic by which i simply add all the rejected numbers in one column of my file, and then do Abra Cadabra by which all the numbers which are rejected get in red colour automatically in the column in which there are all the numbers (approved as well as rejected).
I have unit measures that are converted across four columns (FT, SQFT, SQM and SQY).
THere are three units in rows (BOX, Skid and Roll). I am trying to identify in a column labeled "Duplicate Volume" with a formula stating "YES" if there are duplicate numbers (volumes) in any of the four conversion columns listed above. I have over 50 thousand rows of this stuff...so looking at the data to decide if there are duplicates will not happen.
Any formula that i can put in the column titled "Duplicate" that can identify the duplicates with a "YES" in the cell where duplicates are found?
I'm on Excel 2003 and have a sheet to track people who have read my emails. I want to know the answers to the questions below. I've included a fake sample to show what I'm looking at. I'm currently doing a project which requires me to find and replace a large number of values.
ie. Column A Row 1 = 80099, Column A Row 2 = 554441, Column A Row 3 = Z5478, CAR4 = B89877 etc...
I need to replace these numbers with meaningful values and I have a reference table to tell me what these codes mean ie. 80099 = apple juice, 554441 = orange puree, Z5478 = pumpkin soup, B89877 = banana smoothie. The reference table is in a separate excel spreadsheet and is tabulated in two columns ie. Column A = "the code", Column B = "the value".
There are like 1000+ codes I need to find and replace which I know is going to kill me if I did it manually. How do I find and replace all the values?
I need to find if there are matching addresses in 2 different excel files. If the same address appears in both files, I would like the new worksheet to return the address along with the sale price from the 1 file and the rental amount from the other file.
I have tried using vlookup but the problem is the exported data file contains the street number in one column and the street name on another column. I have attached a truncated example of both the rental data and the residential sales data.
