is there a code i can use to choose the 1st worksheet insteading of selecting the worksheet1 in workbook? Because there are different file that got different worksheet name. E.G. worksheet1, worksheet2 or maybe Addidas, Nike.

I have three work sheets.

Worksheet A contains the Names that I want to find in Worksheet B and C. Trouble is, the format of the names are different in each Worksheet.

For example:

Worksheet A, Column 'Name':
Kyle Rowlie

Worksheet B, Column 'Name':
Kyle Rowlie, Head of Excel

Worksheet A, Column 'Name':
Rowlie, Kyle

What I need to do is create two columns in Worksheet A that identifies Kyle Rowlie is duplicated in Worksheet B and C.

Populate Name From One Worksheet To Another After Finding A Value?

I have my training file that is currently set up and working how I want it to, however I would like to go one step further if it's possible.

on the FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING column there is one person out of date and 14 people that need the training, how can I populate all the name that need this training onto sheet 1 into the box that I have created. I'm wanting this to happen automatically so I don't have to retype the name onto this sheet.

Finding A Date Value On A Worksheet

Is there a simple way using VBA to find a date in the format of dd/mm/yyyy? I have a range on every sheet from A1 to IQ1 with dates already entered. I want to add this vba to some other code so the user can go straight to the date entered on the worksheet.

Using the edit find, it can find dates easily. Can this function be replicated through VBA?

Finding Out What Links Are On A Worksheet

I found a topic here that wanted to know how to remove links, I wanted the same thing.

I found an add-in that identified and could remove any links in the workbook depending on the response to the dialog box. So far, so good.

But it found a link that was located on another page, this link was linked to a third workbook. But what the link is doing or what its association is w/ the other workbook is a mystery. How do I see what this link's purpose/function is?

Finding Number In Non Sequential Worksheet

I have created a worksheet that uses lookup for the numbers that are in sequence but am unsure what formula to use when trying to lookup non sequence numbers as shown below.

Sequence No's
Cell A1:A10 would be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 (as example)

Non sequence No's
Cell B1:B10 would be 2,5,1,7,3,8,4,10,6,9 (as example)

What do I use to lookup, if cell C1 = 1 and needs to find the No 3 from the Non sequence cells?

in finding duplication within different worksheet tables using excel VBA.

Sheet 1 has the following table below:

G

The format of both tables is different within both of the sheets.

The desired output should be shown in sheet 2 table:
A

G

The above table (sheet 2) shows duplicate rows (bold) from comparing table in sheet 1.

I was using this function below, however this does not give me the desired output i am looking for.

Finding Data In 1 Worksheet And Replacing On Another

It might be a simple question but ive been trying for over a week now and i just cant do it (probably cos my knowledge of VB is useless )

What i need to do is:

I have 2 worksheets: worksheet 1 Articles and worksheet 2 New Prices.

Whats common on both worksheets is Reference Nš (In the case of worksheet 1 its column E and in worksheet 2 its B), what i need to do is replace the price corresponding to reference nš in worksheet 2 (In column E) with the price of the corresponding reference number in worksheet 1 (in column N).

Its a basic find and replace, but its a list of over 17.000 articles so the best way is VB, so i look through your lists and helps, but i just cant do it.

Error Handler For Finding Values On Each Worksheet

I am writing a macro to track stats in a workbook. The workbook has the check every tab in the given workbook, hidden and unhidden. In order to track the stats I find a column labeled "Read Dates" on each worksheet. The "Read Dates" column is not always in the same location so I have the macro Find the words "Read Dates". To make sure the cell the macro finds is the column label and not just another cell where someone may have used the words "Read Dates", I have an 'If/Then' statement checking the column to the left to ensure "Rev Mo" is there. If the state is true, the macro begins tracking stats. If the statement is false it attempts to find the next cell containing "Read Dates".

My problem occurs when the macro selects a sheet that contains no data or does not have the words "Read Dates". To help remedy this, I have an Errhandler that simply tells the macro to move onto the next worksheet. My problem is that there are several worksheets that do not have a cell with the value of "Read Date" so the second time the ErrHandler errors. Below is the section of the code I currently have an issue with.

Can anyone think of a better way of doing this so the entire workbook is worked or tell me how I can reset the Error Handler is it will move onto the next worksheet? I've looked into help on this forum to rest the ErrHandler but what I've found and tried has not worked. The ErrHandler may be invoked 2 times or it may be invoked 20 times depending on the workbook.

I have been trying to write two formulas in one cell. I have been able to write them both separately but have been unable to join them both together. What I am trying to do if first search name them how many reoccurring numbers appear. I have provided an example below

So the answer would be

Tom = 2
Sam = 2
John = 1

Finding Last Row

I am working on a macro that has a VLookup in it.

The sheet that this will be applied to comes in weekly and can have anywhere from 10K to 30K.

I want the VLookup equation to be able to find the last possible row with data in column A and then copy the Vlookp equation in column B to the last row.

Can someone please provide the correct code that will allow me to do this?

For example: A1=empty cell, B1=3, C1=empty cell, D1=0, E1=5, F1=empty cell.

What does the formula need to be in G1 to return the value of the first cell to the left than contains 0 or a value, or in this case 5 (E1).

Finding The Value

In my code I have a very useful line:

[other code stuff here]...Range("J" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp))

That helps me find the value in the last row that actually has data in my spreadsheet. This is great, but I want to try to accomplish the same thing without vba. In other words, in cell A3, I always want the value that is in the J column, but the last row that has data. (In other words sometimes the last data row ia 97, sometimes it is 23.) Since the value is always changing this won't be vlookup. Is there another excel function that can find the end without the use of vba?

This might seem goofy to need to do since I already know how I can in vba, but in my (admittedly pathetic code) I keep have an endless loop and if I can figure out a way to get this value on the ss.

Search Worksheet For Data In Multiple Textboxes On Userform - Display In Temp Worksheet

I have a workbook with 4 worksheet that store different type of data. It also has a userform that load at start of the application which is to search the data in the workbook. The userform has a combobox where the names of the sheets are stored. when the user selects say Sheet2 in the combobox, it enables the relevant textboxes on the userform and activates the worksheet at the change event. The userform has a search button that searches all the worksheets based on the text entered in a textbox.

The problem: how to search based on 1 textbox. What I want is: say for e.g the end-user selects sheet2 from the combobox, this intern enables 4 textboxes (Name, DOB, Nationality, ID #) on the userform. The end-user should have the liberty to enter data in 1 and/or any of the textboxes. The search should be performed, that if data is only in 1 of any of textboxes then give all rows that fit that criteria and display in a temp worksheet. if say the name and dob is filled by the user than what matches both should be displayed in a temp worksheet. if say dob, name and ID# given so the search button should narrow down to fit all 3 criteria and then display result in temp worksheet. As if mentioned data can be entered in either just 1 or any or all textboxes.

E.g. the worksheet is (Columns are Name, Nationality, DOB, ID#)

row 1 = name: Steven Martin, DOB: 27-may-1993, Nationality: Trinidad & Tobago, ID #: 1234567
row 2 = name: Gary Richards, DOB: 2-FEB-1993, Nationality: British, ID #: 456789
row 3 = name: David Cohen, DOB: 27-May 1993, Nationality: American, ID #: 98765
row 4 = name: Roberto McDonalds, DOB 21-Jul-1962, Nationality: British, ID # 654321
row 5= name: Gary Richards, DOB: 01-Dec-1978, Nationality: Australian, ID # 1234567

Now if the user enters only name as "Gary Richards" and search then row 2 and 5 should be displayed in a temp worksheet. if user enters name Roberto McDonald and ID# 1234567 then it should not display anything. if user enters DOB 27-may-1993 and nationality British and ID # 1234567 then as well shouldn't display anything and should a msgbox "no data found".

Finding Value Between Range

I have two sheets of data and two tables (1=finial 2=data comparison) I am trying to figure out some kind of formula or vba that can easily tell me that the location point in table one data comparison matches the location in table two. The VPMDFS (location footage) in table two or NDE data can be a range, say vpmdfs.NDE + or - 3 ft. so the ILI or source record should fall in between this range. Once the match has been made I need to copy and paste that record onto sheet one all in the same row. I have been scratching my head and researching for weeks and cannot come up with a simple solution. My problem with all the scenarios that I've tried is the formulas what the data in the data comparison sheet to already be in the same row. Please reference my attached work book for examples.

Finding Next TRUE Value?

I'm currently using a formula which is exactly what i want but i need it to do something additional.

The formula is: =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Level 1 ",$I:$I)),$K:$K,"")

My understanding of this formula is that the cell the formula is in then searches column I for the value "Level 1 ", if it's true it returns what is in column K, if false then it returns the cell blank/0. This is a great function and works well.

What i want to know, is there a way to add another rule on to it that instead of returning the value blank/0, it finds the next cell in the column that has a TRUE value and omits it instead.

For example:
At the moment it shows:
Level 1A
Level 1B
Level 1C
(Blank Cell)
Level 1D
(Blank Cell)
Level 1E

But i want it to show like this:
Level 1A
Level 1B
Level 1C
Level 1D (Replaces blank cell with the next TRUE value)
Level 1E (Replaces cell that previously had "Level 1D" in it to the next TRUE value seeing as "Level 1D" is now above)

I don't want the cell to appear as blank.

In column K, i would only have the data for "Level 1 ", i can then copy the formula to other columns for "Level 2 " and so on. I don't need it to return the cells in alphabetical order, just the next true value in the column that matches the values in the reference column.

Finding Max Value In Duplicates

I have data that has about 10 duplicate values (UTC Time) in one column and another column with number values (depth ft) that vary. I need to obtain the maximum (highest) value in the depth column and remove the other duplicates to filter out the low values. So for the data example below for UTC 15:56:28 I only want the 5.7 row, for 15:56:29 I want5.3 row and so on. I can attach the sheet. - this is a huuge dataset so manual filtering wont work. Data is from a sonar that gives 10 depth readings per second - I only need one depth tat is the highest value.

Finding Subtotal Row When It Changes

I tried "googling" this, but I can't seem to find an answer. Is there a way in VBA to refer to the "subtotal" row(s) in a sheet? I have a large sheet that has a varied number of rows. Each month the data changes and I have to go in to the report, subtotal by one column and then enter a specific formula into the subtotal row.

Is there a way to reference the subtotal row in VBA so I can write a macro that will do this all for me? There are typically a varied number of subtotal rows and the locations of them change depending on the amount of data we have each month.
