I have a long list of work items that is referenced by a unique 7 digit number. I need to create a formula to identify the specific work items that is being duplicated in the list and generate that number. Example is as follows
Work Item#
1234567
1234568
1234567
1234569
1234568
Based on the above list, I need to create a formula that generates all work items that is being duplicated. In the example above, the formula should generate the following work items:
I am a tax auditor, and I am working with excel and I have two lists. One is a complete list of items, both taxable and non-taxable, the other is a list of just non-taxable. I highlighted the non-taxable sales and copied and pasted them under the main list, and I want to delete all the non-taxable items. Basically, the only duplicates in my list are non-taxable, and I need to delete ALL of them.
I have a long list of work items based on a 7 digit number. The work item is referenced by a code named DS or WU.Example as below and the work item# has duplication throughout the list.(work item # repeated)
I need to create a formula that counts how many duplications of work items, by the number of DS or WU. Based on the above example, the formula should arrive at the results below
I need a formula (I'm not sure if its possible without using VB which I have found on another thread) that I can 'drag' down to the cell Bx (where x is variable) to extract unique entries in a list of values and then display them in a shorter, more concise list - like the 'Pick From List' function does but actually display these values in seperately in a column of cells.
Hope this is making sense.
So (hopefully) to elaborate:
A1:Ax = The list of values containing duplicates B1:Bx = The list of only unique values from column A
method. It seems like the limitation is in the Countif function going over 1000 (or some other size limit)
I have a list of ~1500 rows, of that there are approximately 55 unique items. Doing the unique array works correctly up until item ~40, upon which it fails by returning the 1st item only (for the rest).
Trying to debug, and pulling out the Match section, it functions up until 976 (that is
MATCH(0,COUNTIF($N$1:$N40,$C$3:$C$1500),0)
returns 976) anything after returns just 1 (1st item).
It seems to be a limitation on the text string size that COUNTIF can handle.
I am wanting to create a list where I can select multiple items within that list and then print only those selected items. I have created something similar thru data validation, but I can't get it to print.
In addition, I would like to be able to subdivide the list into multiple categories, then select items from these multiple categories and print them.
if there is a way to find duplicate items in a list and return a value, if a duplicate exists.
Basically I have 19 buildings each with a separate bill of quantities. I'm looking to compare and compile a comprehensive list. So that duplicate items in different buildings can be compared side by side.
I have attached a sample of what I am trying to do.
I have two columns with aproximately 80,000 rows each lets say column A and D.
Column A has numbers and it is the most recent data extracted from a program. Column D has also numeric records most of which are also in column A.
I need a macro that will take each number in column D and compare it to column A when the macro finds that the number in D exists in column A it shoudl move the number on the same row on column B (right next to it)
If the number does not exist on on columna a It should start a list on column C.
I have 2 huge lists. One is " the Master list" which I have to extract items that are not already listed on the second list . I don't want to remove duplicate entries,I want to remove the duplicates completely. in both lists, so that I only have items that are not in the second list...
I know how to use array formulae to create a unique list, i.e.{=INDEX($G$1:$G$760,SMALL(IF(ROW($G$1:$G$760)=MATCH($G$1:$G$760,$G$1:$G$760,0),ROW($G$1:$G$760)),ROW()))}
however this is giving all the unique items from column G and I only want the unique items that have a non-zero value in column H as well. This would be the sumif of all instances that would have to be zero. I've tried to crack it and I've tried to search for solutions but so far no joy.
I have a report with ~44,000 line items. From this report, I need assistance generating a report that lists all unique line items. I am having problems trying to identify which line items are duplicates as I need to compare 4 different cells in each line to other lines to determine if it is a duplicate item (compare data from columns A, B, E, F)
For example, raw data may be as follows: Column A………Column B…….Column E…………….....Column F 10/13/2008…….11111111…….71879W561000……….888.88 10/13/2008…….22222222…….239103302000………..222.22 10/13/2008…….11111111…….71879W561000……….888.88 10/13/2008…….33333333…….353496508000………..333.33 10/13/2008…….44444444…….239103302000………..444.44 10/13/2008…….11111111…….71879W561000……….888.88 10/13/2008 ……11111111…….353496508000………..888.88............................
Note from above, there are two occurrences of a duplicate item. As a result, the output table would only list this item once.
I have attached a sample of the spreadsheet with dummy data on one tab and the desired output on another tab. Note that all the data is broken up into blocks of data that is separated by data that is only in the first column of the row.
What I am trying to accomplish is adding the values in column E that have a matching value in Column D and placing the total value of that calculation in column F in the cell that holds the last value for the matching value in column D
As you can see I have added the values in coulmn E that have a matching (Value) in cloumn D and the result is placed in the cell next to were the matching value in column D is last seen before another value begins.
In my case there are sometimes hundreds of value 1, 10 of value 2 and 15 of value 3. Currently I have to pick the cell I want to place the total in, click the AutoSum button and select the matching values in Column D then hit enter to get my result.
I am trying to automate the creation of 3 pivot tables. At first I was having a problem with deselecting all items in the drop-down except one, then I found the code to fix it.
This fixed the problem, but there are still two other pivot tables that need to be created after this first one. I scrolled down through the code and deleted the other code blocks for the selection of the PivotItems and replaced it with the code above, but then when I ran it I got the "Compile Error: Duplicate Declaration in current scope".
I read more through the forum and realize that it's because VBA is dimensioning it twice, and I read that you're supposed to Dimension at the beginning of your program, but how do I implement this into my coding?
I can't dimension literally at the start of the code, there is some formatting that needs to take place first. (Basically I paste in a bunch of data into Sheet1 of my workbook, center it, space it out, then insert a pivot table into the pre-existing Sheet2 based on that data, filtered on the blank entries in Column N. Then I need to create ANOTHER pivot table based on that same data in Sheet1, but filtered on the blank entries in Column O. Then I center the words in the Pivot tables' headers in Sheet2, and finally I need to create one last pivot table on pre-existing Sheet3 based on the data on Sheet1, filtered for 2 specific entry types in Column N.)
It is a product list of office stationary with codes, descriptions and quantities. Using this spreadsheet we input into the quantity how many we want of the item, all well and simple you could call the list a stationary order form.
What I would like to be able to do with this Giant list is to have a function that would extract items off the list into a cleaner consolidated form. As in, if I wanted to order some of item A, C and F, I would like for the second table to just Show ACF without every letter in between or blank cells.
I know a simple method would be to have an IF formula to return the information to a new sheet that I could simply remove blank cell rows (unordered items) and ready for print each time. But I would love to know if there is a better way this could be achieved.
I have basic/intermediate knowledge of excel and can setup the data if need be in order for the function to work, but I can't seem to find the correct function for this project.
It's a quarterly schedule for utility meter readers, divided up into days across the top, and routes/areas down the side. There's a space with each route for the employee ID to go, depending on who's doing it.
Down the bottom of the sheet, there's a few empty lines for all the available employees who haven't been allocated to a route.
On the second sheet labelled EMP LIST, is all the employee IDs. It's also got the areas they work- it's for something I want to implement later.
I can put all the employees into a single column list, then use basic DV to give a dropdown menu by each route, to assign an employee to it. This is pretty straight forward. I've also been playing with this in combination with a countif, so that employees already assigned do not appear in the list.
This is about as far as I've managed to get with it.
I need to get the employees who aren't assigned to anything to appear in a list below the routes. I'm fairly sure this is just another countif, but I'm not 100% on the exact formulas.
I also need the list in the dropdown menu to reset for each day of the quarter, i.e. if I assign an employee to a route on the 30th day of the quarter, their ID will disappear from the list for any other route for that day, but will still be there for the other days of the quarter.
So far the only way I've managed to do this is by duplicating the employee list for every day of the quarter, which is going to get very cluttered, and also makes staffing changes difficult. I'm hoping there's an easier way to do this using one data set.
I've added an example of the sheet. It's one week and it's only got about 1/3 of the routes we would actually have on any given day.
I found code online that I can put on my sheet to get my formatting properties to stay the same for the items in my dropdown list located on another page. However the code does not work for conditional formatted cells...which is what I need. This is the code that I have that will carry over regular formatted cells. Just not Conditional formatted cells.
I have an excel spreadsheet that is several thousand entries long. There are cases in which duplicate entries will spring up on that list.
What I want to do is come up with a formula that will find the first duplicate entry in that list and then display that entry in cell on another worksheet. If it was at all possible, I would also like to have the row that the duplicate entry is contained on display as well, in a different cell of course.
I do not want to highlight them using conditional formatting since I have used that to perform other tasks on that sheet and that wouldn't display the entries in a different cell for me, and I would prefer not to use a macro to perform this function it that was at all avoidable.
I'm trying to accomplish the attached. This is just an example of what I want to do. There are no formulas in this spreadsheet.
Spreadsheet 1: Search by Number
Column A is a list of names
Column B is a list of numbers
Column C is a list of the names that correspond to the number "1" from Column B. Note that there are no blank rows between the names.
Spreadsheet 2: Search by Name
Column A is a list of names
Column B is a list of offices
Column C is a list of the names that correspond to office "Williams" from Column B. Note that there are no blank rows between the names.
I have used the index & match formulas to do this WITH duplicates or blank rows, but I would like to produce this without duplicates. I am willing to get as complicated as need be to make this happen.
I have a list of items in a column. I would like to have a userform pop up with a list box (?) of all the items and I want to be able to select multiple items to perform an action on the row corresponding to the selected item.
I am thinking of other examples I have seen where there are two list boxes (?) and then arrow buttons between them. When you click the arrow the item moves from one list box to the other to see which have been selected.
I have never used list boxes before so if you have a link to some sample code that would be useful.
I have the following code used to add items of expired IDs in a listBox,, it actually works well for adding the ID type, but it doesn't add the details of the expired ID completely .. It adds only the details of the last expired ID (I think the code overwrites the details)
Hi all. I need to create a dropdown list that can handle more than the standard eight rows that data validation allows. My list requires 75 different items in the dropdown. Is there any way that I can do this?
I built a form with a listbox that is populated from a list of products on a worksheet. I want the user to be able to type in a product and if it doesn't match the products already listed I want it to add it to the worksheet list of available products. I keep thinking that I should form an if statement within a loop but whatever I try doesn't work.
I have a list of >50 contract numbers listed in cells A1:A350, with several of the numbers listed more than once. What I would like to do is, on a separate worksheet, list each contract number only once, in column A.
