Extracting Non-duplicate Items, Not Deleting Duplicates
May 16, 2006
I have 2 huge lists. One is " the Master list" which I have to extract items that are not already listed on the second list . I don't want to remove duplicate entries,I want to remove the duplicates completely. in both lists, so that I only have items that are not in the second list...
I am a tax auditor, and I am working with excel and I have two lists. One is a complete list of items, both taxable and non-taxable, the other is a list of just non-taxable. I highlighted the non-taxable sales and copied and pasted them under the main list, and I want to delete all the non-taxable items. Basically, the only duplicates in my list are non-taxable, and I need to delete ALL of them.
I have a name in Column A, and a number that goes with it in Column B. Some of the names on Column A are duplicates. I want to extract a new list that will add the values in Column B of all matching names on Column A, so that my list has only unique names and a total of the numbers in Column B.
i have this situation There are names( in column A) which have relating data in columns B (has dates) , and C ( codes ), it is an example - Bill(column a), 22.02.2009(b), 08(c).The names in column D have duplicates and non- duplicates in the column A .
When the name in the column D has several duplicates in the column A and every his duplicate has different data in column b and c , is it possible all of his duplicates go to the column E , however together with their data in column b and c ,( data from b go to f column and data from c go to g column.. Visually , it should look like something like that
1. Identifies the duplicates and cuts and pastes them into a different sheet 2. Deletes the "email to friend" link (not showing up on the sheet here) Its a javascript button. This button only is on random ones, not all of them. 3. Changes the layout of all the text to horizontal ie name, title, email, url, company.

I m writing a formula that will highlight duplicates. I want to use the supplier code (column D) as the search criteria. can the formula identify these duplicates by entering the word 'duplicate' in column L.
I have a large spreadsheet of over 5,000 rows and 20 columns. What I would like to be able to do is find a formula(?) that will enable me to retain rows of data when Cells in column B and column E contain duplicate data but delete entire rows if the contents of cells in column B and E are not duplicated.
For example:
Column B contains Part Numbers Column E contains Manufacturer
If a part number (Cell B)has been made by two or more manufacturers (Cell E), retain all relevant rows.
If a part number has only been made by one manufacturer, however many times, delete all relevant rows.
What I'm trying to be able to achieve is retain data so that I can analyse it when 2 or more manufacturers have produced the same parts.
I am looking for a way to extract all of the unique items in a Pivot Table. For example, I have a Pivot Table that has category A items and category B items. There may be several B items to one A. For example:
A0 B1 B2 B3A1 B3 B4 B5
Now, what I need is a list that looks like this:
A0 - B1 A0 - B2 A0 - B3 A1 - B3 A1 - B4 A1 - B5
Formatted so that those are two columns. However, in Excel 2007, I cannot set the option to have it repeat the A series items in the Pivot table. Is there some easier way to do this?
I'm still having issues with this workbook. I cannot use a pivot table to fix it, I don't understand them and it confuses me greatly..... so I'm at the mercy of either a formula or macro. I need to combine the duplicate part numbers (a), total the quantities, average the price (d), and total the amount of the part (e). I'm having a very difficult time with it.
(I have a sample attached that is file sample 2, and the entire spreadsheet attached- sample 3)
I have the following problem within Excel. I have a dataset which contains duplicate values within a column(lets say A). I need to delete these duplicates in column A for a range of rows, where the range of the rows is based on column B. So for a given value in column B, lets say 5 which is 6 rows long all beneath each other, I need to delete the duplicates in column A.
I'm trying to take column A (number of records can change from time-to-time and may contain blanks), copy that to column B less duplicates and then use a count forumla to count items in column B based on original list in A. I am aware of how to do this in Excel but am interested in VBA.
Does anyone have a utility which can be used to select a specific column i.e. B:B, which then 'selects' all duplicate values in that column prior to deleting them ?
I have some Job numbers that are duplicates. I can't just do a loop and delete any duplicates that come across because I have to be sure the right one is deleted.
I want the old data to be deleted if there is a duplicate..I just don't know how to verify which one is the old one using VBA. I was thinking of maybe using an advanced filter, but I don't know enough about them.
Is there code that will check both duplicates and delete the old one?
I have sales rep data with column headings as Sales Rep, Sales Date, Sales Item Code and Customer ID. There are only 2 sales reps in the data, I'll call them Rep A and Rep B. I need to extract rows where Rep A and Rep B have made sales on the same day to the same customer (it doesn't matter what type of sales). I don't want to extract sales by only one rep, it must be both reps on the same day to the same customer. I have tried a pivot table but it identifies all sales. Can this be done?
I need a formula (I'm not sure if its possible without using VB which I have found on another thread) that I can 'drag' down to the cell Bx (where x is variable) to extract unique entries in a list of values and then display them in a shorter, more concise list - like the 'Pick From List' function does but actually display these values in seperately in a column of cells.
Hope this is making sense.
So (hopefully) to elaborate:
A1:Ax = The list of values containing duplicates B1:Bx = The list of only unique values from column A
I have a report created daily with account numbers, however there are duplicates. Is there a faster way to filter out duplicates other than sorting and deleting manually?
Column A consists of a list of the barcodes I've scanned.
In column A there is sometimes more than one of the same barcode when i have more than one of the same product. is there a way of deleting duplicate barcodes in column a and replace them with a 'Quantity' column?
I have two seperate lists. One on Sheet 1 and One on sheet 2. What I need to do is take the list on sheet 2 and compare it to the list on sheet 1. If any of the items appear on sheet one, I need to delete those items form sheet 2.
So in the end the only items left on sheet 2 will be items that dont match any items on sheet 1
There are 1000 records in column A and 500 records in column B.
I would like to compare both columns for duplicate entries and deleting all instances of those record in both columns, leaving behind records that were not duplicated to begin with in their respective columns.
In my Excel 2003 worksheet I need a macro to search column B for duplicate entries. The data in column B is both numeric and string. If there are any duplicate entries, then I need the duplicate rows to be deleted.
I have a spreadsheet in which invoices are listed. Some of these invoices have been cancelled with a negative invoice, so I want to match the negative invoice to the corresponding positive invoice so that accurate averages of all the data can be attained.
I have a list of emails and want to check a new list (a new column) if there is a duplicate email (comparing with the original column). I know some common filter methods, but my problem is that they work on "identical cells"; however, my cells are different
My excel looks like this. The rows have duplicate names which I want to delete: TimeNamesNamesNamesNamesNamesNames 5 hoursBobTimTonyBobTom 7 HoursLisaPamPamHeatherKimKim 6 HoursLisaTimBobTimTim
I want the excel to look like this: TimeNamesNamesNamesNames 5 hoursBobTimTonyTom 7 HoursLisaPamHeatherKim 6 HoursLisaTimBob
I need to add items to a combobox without adding duplicates or empty data. I am able to add without empty data but how to ignore the duplicates.
Here is what I have...
Code: Dim GL As Range Dim ws1 As Worksheet Set ws1 = Worksheets("Main") For Each GL In ws1.Range("MainGL") If IsEmpty(GL) Then 'do nothing Else ComboBox2.AddItem GL.Value End If Next GL
Any way of finding particular data from a data set and deleting the data from that field without using conditional formatting or remove duplicates?
I have used a vlookup to find the words that I needed I now need to find where the are located in my original data set and delete these so I am left with data that if I perform a vlookup on it will not bring back any words as they will have been deleted.
