Formula For Between Dates

Aug 24, 2007

I'm trying to write a simple formula that is an IF, BETWEEN, THEN statement about dates.

I want the formula to read:

If Date1 is greater than Date2 and less than Date3, then Date1.
If Date1 > Date2 < Date3, Date1

Adding Values Between Two Dates And Dates Are Also Derived By Formula?

Dec 9, 2013

I have attached an excel sheet for your reference. I have particular debit values that are to be added between the dates. And Dates are also derived by formula based of payment term.

The ones I need to modify is Highlighted in Yellow. The values to be added is in "Customer Statement" and in H Column

These dates also have formula by which there are derived

-------------------------Current Ageing-------------------------
Date Range

Bucket
Amount
Percent
Start Date
End Date[code].....

I am USing =SUMIFS('Customer Statement'!$A:$A,'Customer Statement'!$H:$H,"=" & E11) but does not work.

Formula: Select A Range Of Dates Within A Range Of Dates?

Jul 22, 2009

In column B is a list of dates, which are broken out by fiscal year (FY=7/1/ to 6/30). Column C is a list of dollar amounts. Cell F3 is the query ‘start date’
Cell F4 is today's date, which will be the formula: =today()

Using a date range of F3:F4, I'm trying to get each cell bordered in red to query the dates in column B for each FY; then display the matching sum from column C.

For illustrative purposes I went and manually determined what the values should be displaying as of 7/22. Here are a couple of examples of how I am trying to get the formula to work.

Example 1
FY’08:
Start date- 7/1
End date- 7/22
Searching cells B1:B94, cells B1:B13 fall within the start and end date parameters listed above. Sum of cells C1:C13 is $45,112.00, which should display in cell F6.

Example 2
FY’09:
Start date- 7/1
End date- 12/13
Searching cells B95:B222, cells B95:B149 fall within the start and end date parameters listed above. Sum of cells C95:C149 is $150,873.03, which F7 should display in cell F7. How to I type up this formula; its way more challenging that I first thought!

Formula For Different Set Of Dates

Apr 1, 2012

This formula calculates a price based on a range dates in cells B14 and B15 and works well with one exception it doesn't look at the dates as a range. I need it to work the way it is IF the dates are between October 1 and May 31 and I need it to work differently if the dates are between June 1 and September 30 where the prices are 1000 and 200 respectively, instead of 1250 and 250.

Code:
=SUM(INT((B15-B14)/7)*1250,MOD(B15-B14,7)*250)

Formula For Comparing Two Dates?

May 9, 2012

Formula for comparing two dates

Cell A1 = 5/5/2012 (Recent Date)
Cell B1 = 5/6/2011 (Hire Date)
Cell C1 = =YEAR(A1)-YEAR(B1)

This formula gives a result of '1' even though it doesn't show an entire year.

I've also tried this formula:

=DATEDIF(B1,A1, "y")

This is more accurate as it formulates '0' as the result.

However if for some reason the 'Recent Date' in cell A1 is 5/5/12 and the 'Hire Date' in cell B1 is after the 'Recent Date', say 5/6/2012, the formula =YEAR(A1)-YEAR(B1) has a result of '0' and the formula =DATEDIF(B1,A1, "y") has a result of #NUM!.

Is there a formula that will give me accurate results whether the 'Hire Date' is before or after the 'Recent Date'? Maybe something similar to =DATEDIF(B1,A1, "y") but will give a result of '0' instead of #NUM!

Formula To Calculate Between Dates?

Oct 18, 2013

Calculate dates as The Number Of Days, Months Or Years Between Two Dates

The two formulas I tried below show the wrong output when trying to figure the days between 12/8/2011 to 1/2/2012. It should show 0 years, 0 months, 24 days, not 138 days.
I did notice when the day of the month on the start date is before the day of the month of the end date, the formula seems to work. Ref. the second dates on the first example.

Example 1
Start End
12/8/2011 1/2/2012 = 0 years, 0 months, 138 days

Wrong display. should show 0 years, 0 months, 24 days

Start End
12/1/2011 1/2/2012 = 0 years, 1 months, 1 days

Note that when the start date "day", (1), is before the end date "day", (2) the formula seems to work.

First formula used above:
=DATEDIF(B3,C3-(MOD(B3,1)>MOD(C3,1)),"y")&" years, "&DATEDIF(B3,C3-(MOD(B3,1)>MOD(C3,1)),"ym")&" months, "&DATEDIF(B3,C3-(MOD(B3,1)>MOD(C3,1)),"md")&" days"

Example 2
Start End
12/8/2011 1/2/2012 = 0 years, 0 months, 138 days

Should show 0 years, 0 months, 24 days

Second formula tried above:
=DATEDIF(B10,C10,"y") & " years, " & DATEDIF(B10,C10,"ym") & " months, " & DATEDIF(B10,C10,"md") & " days"

Formula To Indicate Order Of Dates?

Jul 16, 2014

Let's say I have a column A with a list of dates like this:

02/01/14
02/08/14
01/01/14
06/15/14
04/13/14
05/12/14
01/13/14
04/01/14
06/01/14

I'd like to then write a formula in column B that tells me what number order the corresponding date in column A would be if column A were sorted in chronological order, broken out by month.

So the results would look like this:

02/01/14 0201
02/08/14 0202
01/01/14 0101
06/15/14 0602
04/13/14 0402
05/12/14 0501
01/13/14 0102
04/01/14 0401
06/01/14 0601

So the first two numbers of column B are simply the month, and the last two are telling you whether it's the first, second, third etc chronological date of that month, that is found in the entire list.

If column B needs to be a concatenation of a couple columns of formulas to get to that result, that's fine.

The whole idea behind this is to assume that the data in column A can not/will not be sorted by Excel.

Large Formula With Dates With Duplicates

May 26, 2014

In cell G1 I have my snapshot dates header and dates running from G2 to G31. Next to in Column H I have the sold items by Product A.

There are 6 different snapshot dates and I need them to be horizontal with a formula and none duplicated with the largest (newest) date first so I can SUMIF the sold item per date. If I simply pull a LARGE formula it will return 24-05-2014 in all rows is it is the biggest "value".

When I them add new snapshots (biweekly) then the horizontal snapshot line will automatically add the newest dates (i.e. find the largest or newest, the 2nd newest snapshot, the 3rd newest, etc. Hence, in K2 we would have 09-03-2014 with 672 sold items in K3 (via SUMIF), in L3 we would have 18-03-2014 and 7523, in M3 23-03-2014 and 1703, etc.

I'm not sure if I explained it well enough. I'm attaching a file if this makes more sense.

Formula For Evaluations Due And Past Due Dates

Mar 10, 2014

I have a simple table for tracking performance evaluations with 3 columns:

Employee Name (A), Date of Hire (B), Eval on File (C)

Evaluations are completed 6 months from Date of Hire (1 time) and on an annual basis and logged into column C.

I need to identify a list of evaluations that 30 days past due from the beginning of each month on a monthly basis.

I spent hours breaking the process down into steps (by adding extra columns to calculate 6 month due date, difference between current date and 6 month, due date for current year, and it still takes a long long long time.

There must be an elegant formula there that can tie it all together. I worked hours to research it and failed.

I put a scenario below to illustrate my table. As of 02/01/14, Anna Li's 6 month evaluation is past due, James and Johns' annual evals are past due as well.

Array Formula With Sumif And Between Dates

Jan 15, 2010

I've hit a major brick wall and hoping someone will be able to help! I've written an array formula to replace a pivot table (long story) anyway, they now want to be able to filter the data by date (between two dates) i'm using the current formula:

{=SUM(IF('SAP Data Current'!$A$2:$A$39802='Payment Block by Ac. Clerk Cal'!$B$84,IF('SAP Data Current'!$I$2:$I$39802='Payment Block by Ac. Clerk Cal'!$C101,IF('SAP Data Current'!$B$2:$B$39802='Payment Block by Ac. Clerk Cal'!S$2,'SAP Data Current'!$AA$2:$AA$39802,0),0),0))}

I know I need to put it at the beginning, but not sure how! I have the following formula for between dates:

=SUMIF(B2:B24,"<="&F7,C2:C24)+SUMIF(B2:B24,"<="&F8,C2:C24)

but then this isn't working right either!

Check Set Of Dates For Possible Duplication Using Formula?

Jan 9, 2014

I have a worksheet which J3:NJ3 lists the dates for the calendar year. (Example - J3 = 1/1 , K3 = 1/2 , etc. )

A3:C3 are my headers for project information (project name, manager, etc)

In D3 I will be entering employee names. in E3 I will be entering Project start dates, and in H3 will be end dates. These dates are selected via validation lists of the dates listed in J3:NJ3, and it is set to auto fill the adjacent date range with an "X" after the start and end dates have been selected.

Now I also have another worksheet which is a pivot table that will auto update upon any workbook change, and will show each employee and all of the dates in which they are scheduled to work. I am using conditional formatting on this sheet to highlight any dates that the selected employee is double booked on two or more projects.

I want to keep this second worksheet as is, but to avoid having to flip flop back and forth between tabs to find out of someone is double booked, I would like to add a column (I) which will either say "Available" or "Double Booked" . Is there a formula that I can use for this? I thought about Vlookup, but I don't believe I know of a way to write a Vlookup formula that can check a dynamic range of entered dates. I thought perhaps a nested Vlookup/Hlookup, but not quite sure if that will work either.
