I have a formula that reads the date in Colum B on 3 different sheets. The data on the seperate sheets is pulled from a SQL data base and formats the date wtih the time after it.

My formula is looking at dates and subtracting them to give a total count of the occurance of the word "Yes" between dates.
My Formula:

I tried to copy a date from Temperature & Humidity Reading file using the formula ='[Temperature & Humidity Reading.xlsx]Sensor 7'!$C$2 to Summary file
if the date format is like this 6/10/2013 12:00:00 AM the result is fine, but when i try to copy that formula for the succeeding dates the results is same from what i copied.
I am running a DOS command to create a directory listing of ONLY DIR files with the short dos filenames and the long filenames. The command used is
DIR /A:D /X /N /S > c:sampledata.txt
Once read into excel, I simply want to have a spreadsheet with the following:
Directory Path Name, DIR Short Name, DIR Long Name
Anyone have some code to already do this? I have attached the sampledata.txt file to go with the pseudo code.
I have a time calculation in E2 that is a result of a number multiplied by at time the results are nearly always over 1,000 hrs
I have the below formula to display the results in the format of Hrs and Mins but it isn't displaying correctly ie the number in E2 is 1666:40 so it should read 1666 Hrs 40 Mins but its displaying as 10 Hrs 40 Mins

I have a long list of dates that are fomatted as 3-12-13 that I want to format under custom date as d-mmm-yy : 12-Mar-13. I tried to do this but it does not change. I tried to change it to a number and that didn't work either.

I start of with 3 base meter readings (A2, F2, K2), which would be read from the meter. 3 reads are needed in case the consumption changes dramatically at some point. I then need Excel to work out the reading for dates in between. The formula needs to be dynamic enough so that I can change any of the grey dates to what I want.
The estimates need to be calculated using an average daily consumption. This figure needs to be displayed in D9.
It would be preferable if macros weren't used. If its possible to explain what to do without an attachment, that would be good too.
I need a formula that will be able to show what shift someone is on if the shift changes, for example. if one of my employees shift changes from and 8hr to a 10 hr on january 16th 2014 then I would like the raw sheet to show the old shift, the new shift and when the new shift started (date). the index formula I have will only show one shift even if there are new dates with a different shift. the formula pulls from the sheet name editor.
i really want the shifts to be different if it was change on a certain date then from that date the employee shift will reflect new shift but still keep the previous shift prior to the day the new shift started.

I have a workbook containing 5 sheets. Sheet1 is my results page and the balance contains employee names and dates training completed(matrix)
On sheet1 I have 4 columns - 1name, 2type of training, 3date completed & 4refresher due. I have created a combobox and used the vlookup formula to populate the cells within the third column but I seem to have a problem with the date format. In the 4th column I have used this formula (=c2+365) this displays a new date one year on, but if an individual hasn't completed training and the cell within c2 is blank it defaults to this - 30/12/1902. If cell c2 is blank I would like d2 to be blank too.
I have a cell which has multiple references including some text and a date. When they are all added together the date comes up with the 6 numbers not a date.

I am trying to get the formulas to work on Sheet 3, the rows formated to percentages correctly, but they are not reading the totals in row 2 to make the formula complete. I also want this to run more than one number, I would prefer a range for example value >= 1.29 so that Sheet 3 shows all items less than 1.29.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?
I have created a userform but I am having extensive problems with the date formats.
My system is set to UK and short date is set to: DD/MM/YYYY
When I used code to add the values in the userform to the spreadsheet, any that contained a date format would revert to the US format.

One of the reports I run provides me information on lengths of time. Such a field displays as |0:09:16| indicating 9 minutes and 16 seconds. However, when the report generates the excel spreadsheet it saves these cells in date/time format ([h]:mm:ss). If I were to convert this field to the number format (so I can manipulate and graph it) it displays as such |0.00643460648148148| Ideally I would be able to have the data in the field stored as |556| (556 seconds, or 9 minutes 16 seconds). I have thousands of fields that I need to manipulate where the data is stored in this format and I can not figure out how to fix it.

For some reasons, I have a combination of a few cells of date format and a few cells of general format with no order at all.
What I need is: Search in the A column, if date format leave it , if not change from general to date format.
I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet where the default number format keeps switching to the date format. I keep switching it back and it'll stay as a number format for a time, but then it'll switch back. This is also the case for any new worksheets in that one spreadsheet.
This only happens with this one file - everything else behaves according to my regional settings or to how the file had been previously formatted.
I have two columns where there are dates (e.g. 11/05/2009) in a date format; I would like to change the format to `general`; but without losing the original values, i.e. I still want to see 11/05/2009, but just in `general`format. Is it possible to create a macro that will do that? I want these values to stay in the same place, i.e. if it is in cell K10, I still want to have it there - just in other format.

I have an excel sheet full of dates in text format and want to convert them into regular format. For instance, one of the dates listed is in text as "60801". I'd like it to show in regular date format of mm/dd/yyyy, so that 60801 becomes 8/1/2006.

In D3 I have manually input: (space)3-08
As you can see the CONCATENATE puts the "39569" date in A2 But the second line puts the text date as I prefer. What I would like to do is put in a formula or macro in D2 and down that will change the "Mar-08" to "3-08" so it CONCATENATEs correctly to column A. Simply: I'm trying to avoid manually inputing the text version "3-08" (or whatever M-Y) into D2 down a hundred or so rows!

I have a column in excel which gets populated in the format "2/1/1980" when copied from a different source. I want a macro to run on this column and convert this in the below format. Required format: '02-01-80 (note the ' symbol before 02 which will keep it as text)
Existing ----> Required
2/1/1980 --> '02-01-80
2/1/1970 --> '02-01-70
2/1/1983 --> '02-01-83
I need this macro to run on two columns and replace them with the required format. I can do a find and replace either in the sheet or through hard coding the VBA, but as the date format keeps growing, I would need to do this via code and hence requesting the same.
I have txtboxes in which I write date in format dd/mm/yyyy but if I want to put date in cell correctly from this textbox in need to declare event on exit -change format to mm/dd/yyyy and then it puts date in desired format which is dd/mm/yyyy and my regional settings are English(uk)
Is there a way to put any date format in textbox and in cell there will always be format dd/mm/yyyy or at least if date is entered in format dd/mm/yyyy that also in cell the same format is putted
I need an IF formula, that states if a date is more than a month after the date in the cell then it is timely and if it isn't then it is not timely. For example the date in A1 is 12/11/05, if the cell is A2 is 13/12/05 (or any date after that) then A3 should read Not Timely, if A2 is 12/12/05 (or any date before that, including a date before the date in A1) then A3 should read Timely. Is there any way to do this?? At the moment I am having to go through manually and put in either Timely or Not Timely.

Second question: If I have a column that reads 02/15/2012 and another column that reads 3/27/2012 how to a format a 3rd column to make it read total number of days between 1st date and 2nd date?

I have been struggling with my Excel 07 Date format. Nearly every time I perform a calculation, enter in a value etc in a spreadsheet my answer is returned as a date. So for example if I enter in a cell: = 5 - 4. I get the answer "1-Jan-1900" instead of 1. I have to manually set the formats to general or number if I want the correct format. The setting seems to be the default one and occurs for all workbooks I open. What can I do to change this.
