I need VBA help. I know how to highlight every other row but what I can't do is highlight a row if column values are the same. For example I have 5 columns but only the first one has the data I'm interested in. If the data in the first column looks something like this:
1
2
3
4
4
5
5
5
6
6
6
7
.
.
I want to highlight every other row that has similar values therefore I want to highlight row 2, both row 4s, and three 6s...etc.
I also want it to start on the 2nd row of every page until the last row of every page which is row 37 in my case.
I have a spreadsheet with month names in column A10 and down and want to highlight the row based off a cell(which will be A3) so if cell A3 = Nov it would highlight all rows that have Nov in column A. I don't want to highlight the entire row just columns A.
I am trying to write a procedure to highlight entire rows in VBA based on a entry in column A.
I have the below which works for say 1000 rows but breaksdown when I have 58,000 rows which is the usual amount of data I will have.
Below is the code I have so far. It appears when I debug it breaks on the red line with type mismatch.
Option Explicit Sub RemoveBH() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Dim intcount As Long For intcount = Cells(1, 1).CurrentRegion.Rows.Count To 1 Step -1
I have a worksheet with two columns and a few hundred lines. One has titles and the other integers indicating how many times the title needs to be copied to another worksheet or text file.
Desired Output (Worksheet or Text File) [The entire row, including the integer could be copied as well, if it is easier.] TitleA TitleB TitleB TitleB TitleB TitleB TitleB TitleC TitleC TitleC TitleC TitleD TitleD TitleD
I need a VBA/macro very similar to several I have seen posted here. I have a worksheet with two columns and a few hundred lines. One has titles and the other integers indicating how many times the title needs to be copied to another worksheet or text file.
Desired Output (Worksheet or Text File) [The entire row, including the integer could be copied as well, if it is easier.] TitleA TitleB TitleB TitleB TitleB TitleB TitleB..............
creating a macro for an excel spreadsheet? The problem I am faced with is I need to reduce a xls file from a ticketing system at work that contains roughly 50,000 rows.
What I need to have done is reduce a Site Code column (column B) so that for each ticket entry there is only one occurrence of each user that worked on that ticket. What the macro should do is to look through column B and remove any duplicate rows for the same ticket number located in column A. once the macro gets to the next ticket number in column A I need it to start over on the duplicate check for column B.
I have a attached a xls file to this post to try and show what it is i am working on.
I have to create 1000 dynamic ranges and do not want to do this manually. See the list below for the syntax I am using, I am only showing the first 10.
Name Range KPI_01=OFFSET(Date,0,1) KPI_02=OFFSET(Date,0,2) KPI_03=OFFSET(Date,0,3) KPI_04=OFFSET(Date,0,4) KPI_05=OFFSET(Date,0,5) KPI_06=OFFSET(Date,0,6) KPI_07=OFFSET(Date,0,7) KPI_08=OFFSET(Date,0,8) KPI_09=OFFSET(Date,0,9) KPI_10=OFFSET(Date,0,10)
I have tried the following code which works to an extent...
Range("=OFFSET(Date,0,1)").Name = "KPI_01"
..but the final result of the named range is an actual range, i.e. "A1:A13".
How can I keep the named range as a dynamic range?
I have a excel file which contains dublicate rows. The duplicate rows can be identified based on few cell/column values. I need a macro to delete the duplicate rows when the below condition is satisfied: let us consider row 5 and row 6:
If column 7,12,13,16,17,18,19,23,24,27,28,29,30 in row 5 = row 6 then row 6 has to be deleted. This condition has to be followed for all other rows in the excel used range. Have attached the sample workbook.
i have a series of colums in which i have a formula for checking if each proceding row has the same value in the cells above ie duplication. i am using the following formula = if(and (C4=C3),(D4=D3),(E4=E3)),"yes","") although this seems to work ok, some of the cells in colums D & E are empty. what should i do to check for this.
what i am attempting to do is check for duplicate rows where the row is only a duplicate if the previous row is identical.
find the attached Sheet, where some values are entered in column A with repeated action. What I need that through an excel function the repeated values should get red colour like in the Column C.
I am unsure if I would even need VBA to do this. I am trying to find a way to highlight all cells in column AO that have duplicate phrases and transfer just the phrase over to column CF. Ex: A cell containing "She didn't listen" and a cell containing "They didn't listen" would highlight and "didn't listen" would move over to Column CF. Would it be possible to do this without specifying the exact phrase?
I created a spreadsheet for use by the shipping department where I work. We are trying to prevent pulling and shipping the incorrect item to the customer. This is how it works. The employee downloads a CSV file containing items that have been purchased from our website and imports the file into the excel. Then the item is pulled and the employee scans the item's barcode into the spreadsheet named "SCAN." Formulas and code on the "reference" sheet look for the SKU number in the list from the CSV file while others create a consolidated list of SKUs that have been scanned, SKUs that have a problem and need to go to customer service, and SKUs from the CSV file that have yet to be scanned. Some of the formulas in this workbook have been borrowed from forums like this and altered to fit my needs - I'll admit I'm not even entirely sure how they work.
Occasionally a SKU is scanned in twice and not always sequentially which will effect the total item count. It can be very difficult to find the duplicates in the list.
I would like for any value that appears more than once in column B of the 'SCAN' sheet to be highlighted. I have tried to do this, but to no avail.

this two column compare for duplicates and I manage to highlight (actually not bold) the number that is duplicate but I dont want to highlight the 2nd, 3rd & so on duplicate number in c3 (highlight 1 only from the 3 numbers most of the times got 2 only) . (row start from c3 to c2000 and d3 is up to d2000 also). I already use CF for highlighting the duplicate in C3 which my formula in CF is
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(c3:c3,$c$3:$c$780,0)),"",c3:c3) I just try to do this formula and it works, but I dont know how to command not to highlight the 2nd, 3rd & so on duplicate number in C3 (C3 only can have duplicate number within the column; D3 doesn't have any repeat number in the D column.
I need to do the same formula command for other 2 partner columns (compare for duplicates this two columns & the 1st column if have to many duplicates highlight the first number that have more than 1 duplicates only) cells need to do again is for E3 & F3; G3&H3; until AU3&AV3..
is it possible to count how many highlighted cell (not bold) there is in a column (I mean total highlighted cell) and put the answer in cell C1, E1, G1, I1 ... AS1 , AU1. Tq again..
I managed to find this great bit of code some time ago and would now like to add to it. The code basically identifies any duplicates in column A and then lists the results in a message box,e.g.:
Duplicate Name: REF12345 Rows: 2,3
Works great for 1 or 2 duplicates but if there are many it becomes quite difficult to keep track. I'd like keep the code as is but add highlighting to the identified cells.

I've been looking for a solution to highlight all duplicates within a certain column across all worksheets in the workbook as the entry is made, no button to search for them. I have found bits and pieces, but can't seem to stitch them together to create what I am looking for, still very green with vba.
My workbook is a loading schedule at a warehouse, so there is a tab for each day (the date being the tab name, ex. '12.04.13'.) Tabs are continually added and removed to progress the calendar, and minimize file size. The column I am searching for duplicates in, is column L (or 12, however you wish to identify it.) If a duplicate value is entered, I want at the very least to highlight the value just entered, and the value elsewhere on the workbook, and if possible, have a msg box pop up stating the location of the other duplicate (or at least the tab (date) the duplicate is on.) The message box is more so for an in your face error check, with a built in GPS. Would it also be possible to only search from row 2 to 100, and ignore any further rows on each sheet?
The point of this, is to locate duplicates to make sure an appt has not been double booked, and both entries can be located to verify which entry has the correct information (carrier, delivery appt, etc.)
I have a sheet where i want to delete duplicate rows where column A and column B combined are equal, i.e. range(Ax:Bx) where x is the current row. I am using the macro below but cant seem to get it working as I keep getting a type mismatch error and Im not sure why.
I am having a problem finding or creating a macro for what i am needing to do. I have a workbook with 2 worksheets (2 months july and august) to figure out a billing process.
I need to be able to First of all search each value in Column A on sheet 2 (august) to Column A on sheet1 (July).
My sheet is set up like this where ID is a buyer and Products 1,2,3...are if they have purchased that product from us
A B C D 1 ID Product_1 Product_2 Product_3 2 100 0 0 1 3 200 1 1 0 4 300 1 0 0 5 400 0 1 0
Better Picture representation attached
Both worksheets are very similar but August may have some changes from July such as new ID's and changed prduct purchases. What I need to do is have each ID in Column A be compared to Column A in the July sheet, but it may not always be the same cell (because of new ID's added they are moved around)..so it need to search for the same ID first then compare. Once it finds the ID, I then need it to compare the rest of the row (the product info) for that ID to see if any products were added or changed to determine billing. And for any changes that are found in the comparison, I need them to be highlighted.
Now in the case that a new ID was added...it wont be in the July sheet, so the whole row would need to be highlighted to notify of a new ID and new billing needs to be added.
This way the billing person can look at the sheet, see the highlited changes and see what is new or needs to be added to a previous ID's billing. Currnelty they are looking at it manually to see if there are changes.
I am using three columns - Col A contains serial number, col B contains name and Col C contains Codes.
The problem is in col C as sometimes the codes are copied from other files also. So I want that if there is any duplicate codes in column C, on running the macro it will delete the duplicate rows and keep original record ie the duplicte records added later has to be deleted and that the original record will be in place.
I need to remove all rows where COL A value and COL B value are the same. COL C does not need to be considered. However I need to retain one of the Col C values for purposes of formatting.
The end result should look similar to columns F,G and H!
I have a large spreadsheet that has some duplicates in Row Q. However, in column L there is a date. I want to be able to find the duplicates in column Q then delete the duplicate with the earliest date.
a quick macro/VBA project that would allow my to duplicate existing rows based on the count in one of the cells. For example, my data currently looks like this:
What I am trying to do is get the net sales of 80 in either of Dave's rows in the Net column, then I can hide the duplicate row. However, this is complicated by the fact that names without returns, (like Fred in this example,) do not have a second row. (This also applies to those names without sales, but with returns, like Andy).
Every week I get a report that contains 1 or more (sub) part numbers in each row down column E, separated by a space. I need each part on a separate line, with the rest of the data on that row intact. Because these are the sub-components of an overall part, the data in column E is stored grouped together like that.
I currently use text to columns to break those up, separating them by the space, add a count of those cells so I know how many sub part numbers there are, run a 'duplicate rows' macro on that count, then manually delete out numbers so I'm left with one part number per row. The report is already over 100 rows long, so after I run the 'duplicate rows' macro I have a lot of rows to work through.
