How To Add Range From Multiple Sheets With Conditions


I'm creating a summary sheet that adds up all the data on sheets between start and finish where A2-A25 is SU and B2-B25 is 004*04. Background info: SU stands for SetUp, and 004*04 is a workcenter number (its not 004 times 04) I'm trying to calculate the total number of Setups for each workcenter.

=SUM((start:finish!A2:A25="SU")*(start:finish!B2:B25="004*04"))

gives me a #NAME? error.

Example Data on each spreadsheet:

SU 004*04
SU 004*04
SU 004*02
SU 004*04

I want to auto fill certain columns in sheet A from sheet B & sheet C based on conditions

For Eg:

I want to auto fill in Sheet A for the columns:

Add Or Delete Rows From Multiple Sheets Based Table Range
I have a need to add or delete rows from a number of known sheet names using a table of variables on another sheet that tell me the start row of the sheet I need to go to and the number of rows I need to either add (ie copy rows and paste / insert these) or delete (delete rows).

There are multiple blocks of data I mey need to amend on each sheet and the values in my table of variables will change on each iteration (ie if I delete rows from the first block on a sheet, the start row for the 2nd block I need to amend will need to be updated in the table of variables before I can edit the 2nd block on that sheet).

I have been able to get the process to work for a single instance (ie one sheet and amendments to the first block of that sheet) but I can't figure out how to create the loop to elegantly move to the next set of variables and repeat the process for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th block etc on the first sheet and then move to the 2nd sheet to repeat the process etc.

Add Sheets Based On Conditions
i am not able to solve this problem.

1- I have 3 tabs in this worksheet with the data - Tabs A , Master Data and refernce Table

2- Suppose column K in the tab " Master Data " has a record or number, they can be repeated as the new data us added every month.

3- Reference table has the list of the same data record ( numbers ) .

Now the situation is if there is a new record in the column K of the master data sheet the Macro should do the following.

a- Check for the record in the reference table , if doesnt exist then add the record in the reference table

b- create another sheet same as the sheet " A" (duplicate of
A) and name it the new record number

b- Plug the new record number in the cell B2 of the new sheet

c - Copy the row 8 from ( D8 to O8 ) in the new sheet from (D8 to
O8)from sheet A

Count Unique Logs With Multiple Conditions Of Multiple Sheets
I've got no clue about all this, but I've had to get specific formula examples and fill in the blanks in order for my timesheet to work. There's just one final problem if somebody could please help.

This is a timesheet for a 5 day work week. I need to count the number of unique log numbers for a specific activity. The log numbers counted must be unique across the entire week, not just for each day, which means I want the formula to count the unique log numbers across multiple sheets.

The formula also has multiple conditions. I got 2 columns. The first part of the formula needs to verify a word, say, "split" and if it does it checks the adjacent cell for a unique log number. If both arguments are true, it counts the log as 1 unit.

Here is a working formula for only one page.
=COUNT(IF(D4:D29="split",IF(FREQUENCY(C4:C28,C4:C28)>0,1,)))

Here's 2 problems with this formula:
1. I will count if it encounters a blank cell in the Log numbers the first time (which will happen as not every activity we do has a log#), but it will stop counting if it encounters a second blank cell.

2. I don't know how to make it work across several sheets.

This is an alternate formula which works and skips the blank cells, but I don't know how to add the multiple condition of "split" and to have it work across multiple sheets. I just copied it Microsoft. As I said, I don't understand it, I just fill in the blanks.

SUMIF Multiple Conditions (two Columns Match Criteria Add The Third)
Im trying to have a formula look at two diferent columns and if they meet the criteria add the third column.

I tried using sumproduct but It wont give me anything but error messages or a zero.

Looks like this
=SUMPRODUCT(A:A="Stewart",(G:G="Fiduciary"),C:C)

Need it to say:
if column A = Stewart and Column B = Fiduciary then add up the amount in Column C

Add Subtotal To Multiple Sheets & Copy
i am trying to do the following- can some one pleeeeeeease help me

Each tab has columns up to M.

1. Sum Column E for each tab(note column will varie in size)

2. Then copy Column C and Column E to one tab (called " upload)

there will be 60 tabs - so am tying to loop through and peform a subtotal for column E then copy "C" and "E" to another tab called "upload" note - all tabs will be copies to the one tab called "uplod once subtotal is performed.

Sum Based On Multiple Conditions & Variable Range
I have a rolling calendar worksheet that I need to create a formula to auto populate the sum of 8 weeks out, 4 and 8 weeks back based on any work week date I may plug in. So on the "summary page" based on a work week date, I need 8 weeks out, 4 and 8 weeks back projections to be auto summed for 10 different part numbers. The "13 week rolling" page will continue to be updated so that everyweek another week is added and the last week will fall off. (this part can be done manually if no function can delete the oldest column) When the weeks are added it must include the workweek in question. i.e. ww25 = (8weeks out) ww25:ww32 / (4weeks back) ww25:ww22 / (8weeks back) ww25:ww18. see example workbook attached.
This has been driving me nuts for a few weeks now.

Run-time Error '1004' Method 'Add' Of Object ' Sheets' Failed Adding Multiple Sheets
I have been running a simulation for about 18 hours now and just received:

Run-time error '1004':
Method 'Add' of object ' Sheets' failed

I have been creating new sheets, importing data, pulling some values from the data then deleting the respective sheet. I am using:

ActiveWorkbook.Sheets.Add after:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)

The sheet is actually being added to the workbook, seemingly before the error. I resume the code, and a new sheet is placed in the workbook and it errors again. The Debugger stops and highlights on the code above.The sheet count number was 10895 at the error, just as an indicator of how many times the simulation has performed successfully. I am hoping this is something I can fix without having to start over...

Same Range Name For Multiple Sheets
My VBA program uses a named range("MyRange") to access data on Sheet1. Next month I want to copy Sheet1 to Sheet2, update the data for the new month and rerun the program. Now, of course, I want "MyRange" to refer to the range on Sheet2 instead of Sheet1. Is this possible to do or do I have to define a new named range each month?

Form Range From Ranges On Multiple Sheets
Is it possible to form a single Range object from ranges on multiple sheets. So for example, would it be possible to set a Range object equal to cells A1:D146 from Sheet 1 and A1:B49 from Sheet 2 and if so, what would be the syntax? For the first I have:
Sheets("SelectData").Range("A1:D146").SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible)
but I wouldn't know how to proceed from there.

2000 Counting Same Range Across Multiple Sheets
I have been searching the web and wracking my brain trying to do this and now I am here (for one place to start) for help. Especially since I got the formula below from this forum.

1. I have a worksheet with multiple sheets. All the sheets except the last are labeled by department. The last sheet is labeled Totals. All the department sheets follow a template that I don't want to change so any totals or formulas I want to add, I want to do off of the Totals sheet.

2. For an example, I want to total all PCs with the model "Compaq 1.8" from all the sheets onto the Totals sheet. It doesn't seem like Countif can do multiple (or 3d) sheets. It can only do one sheet.

It looks like the only way to do this is to use a UDF (User Defined Function) or some other Function to do this.

I found a UDF that looks like it should work (see below). However, I have tried this function but all I get is the #NAME? error/message. I have tried multiple ways to simplify this function just to test that I can get any data from it but keep coming up with the #NAME? error.

Find Value On Multiple Sheets & Delete Corresponding Range
I'm building a course registration workbook and am working on the unregistration macro.

I have a seperate worksheet for each course, labelled by the course code.

There is also a page for each registered participant that shows what courses they're in.

The macro reads off the information on the participants page, and then should goto each registered course's page, look in column C for their name, find it, delete the contents of that row for Columns C to G (has their other information) and then shift all CELLS (not rows) below the now deleted cells up 1 to keep track of the order they were added.

I've tried recording my own macro and editing... but it doesn't work very well for this.
I've also tried searching and come up with nothing, but if someone can look at my code, and/or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Copy Same Range From Multiple Sheets To Master Sheet
I have multiple sheets (lets say for example a 100 of them) where I need to copy a Value from a fixed location (Col#,Row#) from each of the 100 sheets and store it in a column in a Master sheet.. in the end the Master sheet has only two columns.. first column A contains file name (of the sheet where I copied).. then adjacent column B has the copied value.. in other words the Master sheet will have 100 rows and two columns..for this example..

Vlookup Across 2 Sheets With Conditions

How To Add More Conditional Formatting Conditions Than 3?
Why is there a hard limitation like this? Is there a way to go around it? By having a different format for the cells outside the 3 conditions I can get 4 different formats altogether, but that's not really that much.

How To Satisfy Multiple Conditions Using Multiple Criteria
I'm trying to divide my data into 6 different groups, based on 2 different criteria. First, I am not sure how to write the logical test to take 2 columns of data into consideration (using "&" and "AND" do not work; I am not sure what else to try), and second I can't figure out how to write the formula so that it can select from 1 of 6 conditions.

So, overall here is what I want:

If DL2=3 and CK2=1, then I want this to be labeled as '1'
If DL2=3 and CK2=2, 2
If DL2=1 and CK2=2, 3
If DL2=2 and CK2=2, 4
If DL2=1 and CK2=1, 5
If DL2=2 and CK2=1, 6

These 6 conditions cover all possible combinations of numbers in the two columns.

2. I need to clean the multiple identical data in the list by both Account no. and Sum (of course the list is much longer!) so that the list should look like this:

I must say that I am a beginner in Excel, so I tried to use this:

=IF(OR(E5=$J$5:$J$430);IF(INDEX($I$5:$I$430;MATCH(E5;$J$5:$J$430;FALSE);1)=D5;"";E5);E5)

for column E, and

=IF(OR(J5=$E$5:$E$452);IF(INDEX($D$5:$D$452;MATCH(J5;$E$5:$E$452;FALSE);1)=I5;"";J5);J5)

(which is reverse of the first one) for column J; (The ranges are the ones used in the real sheet), not for the ones in the example above!); The formula does seem to eliminate a dew unwanted data, but does not give me all the wanted results!

Sum On Multiple Conditions In Multiple Columns
My data looks somewhat like this :

0 Q2 = sum of 1's in Q4

A cell in the SUM column must contain the sum of 1's in column DOU if under column Quarter the value is Q1. Similarly for Q2, Q3 & Q4 if only the corresponding value under DOU is 1.

Its like.. count the number of 1's per quarter and come up with the sum in 4 distinct cells for each quarter.. i.e. quarter-wise sum/count of 1s

how to get a workbook containing macros to save as an addin xla format to include hidden worksheets?

I have referenced them in the code, in unhides, copies as a new sheet and then rehides it.

Yet when I run it as an addin, when it goes to unide the sheet, it says Im referencing something which doesn't exist (because it's not included in the xla addin).

IF Formula For Multiple Conditions
I need to set up something like an IF formula that will populate 1 cell based on which of 11 possible values will be represented in another cell. I can do this up to 7 with no problems using the following IF statement:

Summing With Multiple Conditions
I need to sum the items in column G12:G39 with the 1st name in Column B12:B39 which could be 1 of 9 different names, that, and the 2nd name in column D12:D39 cannot not say either #4 or TE. How To Use Count With Multiple Conditions
I have a table in Excel:

The first row is time in years.

The second row is method name,say,"A","B","C".

I want to count the number when the time is less than 5 years AND "A"
method is adopted.

I tried this:
count(if(AND(C2:Z2<5,C3:Z3="A"),C2:Z2) but it didn't work.

how to revise the formula?

In the mean time, count(if(C2:Z2<5,C2:Z2))worked as well as
countif(C2:Z2,"<5")

Countif Multiple Conditions....
I have a table like this:

Name (A).....Date-in (B)....Date-out (C)
Name1........27/12/2008....3/01/2009
Name2........25/11/2008....28/11/2008
...

I want to count the rows (in the entire table) that B and C dates intersect with a reference dates (say J1 and J2).

It is a booking table so I want to know if the apartment is available for the reference dates (i.e. no bookings for that days).

I tried first a simple double conditional to know if a date is inside two dates but it didn't work:

Logic With Multiple Conditions
I want cell B to be blank if 1 of 2 different conditions are met. If Cell A is blank then so too should be Cell B. If cell A contains data, then I want cell B to perform a formula $D$1-E6.

However, if Cell C contains data then Cell B should return to a blank status.

Counting Multiple Conditions
My worksheet contains a database of systems that have been installed since 6/08. Each system has its own unique serial number, however, this serial number appears more than once.

I'm trying to count the number of systems that have been installed since 9/08/08 but I do not need Excel to count each s/n entry, I only want it to return a count per s/n once to get a total of all installations since this date.

Countif With Multiple Conditions?
In my Sheet "List" I have list of persons working on different projects.
I prepared graph after putting conditions on Project Type, Project Size, Project Year & Position (PM Project Manger). Every thing was done a in a nice manner with the help of below formula.

PJ TYPE , PJSIZE, PJYEAR, POSITION are ranges names.

=SUMPRODUCT(--(PJTYPE=$A$2),--(PJSIZE=$A6),--(PJYEAR=B$4),--(POSITION="PM"))

But the problem was occured that in a year if a person work on small project more than once then he will be counted only once. But if he has worked in same year on Medium or Larage project then they will be counted separately. I tried to oversome the problem with the help of Pivot Table and put manually some legend P1, P2 & P3 against the person name if he is working on same type of project in same year. then count only P1 in my formula to count how many Project Manager worked on Project. like

=SUMPRODUCT(--(PJTYPE=$A$2),--(PJSIZE=$A6),--(PJYEAR=B$4),--(POSITION="PM"),--(PMCOUNT="P1"))

Now i am trying that in a separate columm of # of PM there must be a formula which only put P or 1 for a person if he is working on same project in a year but i want that p or 1 only appear against his first entry i duplicate. for other persons it automatically enter 1 or p if they are appearing only once. i have tried a lot while using countif with multiple conditions but all in vain.

SUMIF With Multiple Conditions
I'm trying to get a sum only if 2 conditions are met.

Column A has dates (ex. 01/02/2007) in a random order. Column B has a location in a text format (ex. London). Column C has a series of values formatted as [h]:mm.

What I'm trying to do is get a sum of the values in column C where the corresponding values in columns A and B = the date and loction I specify. I've tried...

but it's returning zero values regardless of the criteria being met or not.

Multiple Conditions With A SUMIF
My book is telling me that I can't use multiple conditions with a SUMIF
statement but other sources are telling me I can. Either way, it's not
working!

My situation:

Look at data in $V$2:$V$144 (range = "group"). If cells in "group" =
"Broth" then look at $Y$2:$Y$144 (range = "bldg"). If "bldg" = "1" then sum
corresponding cells in $R$2:$R$144 (range = "fcst").

This is one of my attempts - feeble...

AverageIf Multiple Conditions
I currently have this equation: =AVERAGEIF($B$2:$B$900000,">="&L5,$C$2:$C$900000). Where L5 = 100. I'm interested in having the formula averageif B column value is between L5 & L6. Where L6 = 200. I have the following formula entered into cell O4: =IF((AND($K4="1",$B4="1 - C",$I4="open")),(1),(0)). When the three conditions are met in the corresponding cells, I get a "0" returned in cell O4. I would like the formula to return a "1" when all three conditions are met.

If 2 cells are the same i want to delete the row of the 2nd cell, this works. But i dont want 2 delete cells that are blank, this doesnt work. For some reason it deletes everything in the table.

Formula For Multiple Conditions
I need a formula for:
If nothing is entered into J1, leave it blank
But if J1 is greater than or less than H1, have the text "why?" appear in the cell. Late in the day and getting a lil brain dead.

Sum With Multiple Conditions
see attached workbook.

I need to create a conditional sum in the report tab in the yellow cells that will sum all the values from the list sheet, based on the following conditions.

1) The name is in the list
2) The code in the list is one from the codes tab.

I saw somewhere that I need to put an 'OR' statement in the conditional sum but I can't get it work. It seems to add up values for the code 'HOLIDAY' and I don't want it to.

Counting With Multiple Conditions
I am looking to get a formula that count the number of rows that match some
criteria. The sample table is listed below. I would to have a formula
calculate the # of rows in which values in column B (>=3 and <=3.9) along with values in

But if you combine both criteria, there are 6 rows that match. I'm having a
difficult time figuring our how to write the formula for this.

Delete Rows, Multiple Conditions
I need help with the following conditions. I have attached a sample file with desired results.
Conditions required to delete row:

1Delete Row when cell E is blank (example: Row 6 will be deleted as E6 is blank)
2First character in column 'C' is an alphabet (for example: Row 5 will be deleted as the first character in the cell is an alphabet
3First character in column 'B' is an alphabet (for example: Row 29 will be deleted as the first character in the cell is an alphabet

Special Notes : All characters in column 'B' are not in number format (ex: 555-9999 is general)
There are more than 1500 rows of data that need to be sorted with the above conditions.

Summing Based On Multiple Conditions
I have been trying to search an array and cannot find the correct combination of functions to get the information I want. I might need a macro to do this but I will try anything. Here is an example:

1 A 1
1 B 2
2 A 3
2 B 4
3 A 5
3 B 6

I want to search for 3 and A and return the value in the 3rd column. I have tried several functions but cant figure out how to make sure I get the correct value in the 2nd column that corresponds to the value in the 1st column.

Programming Multiple Conditions In Cell
Attached is my worksheet. I need to program column C to adjust the value in column A according to the rules set in table J2:K17, but ONLY if the value in column B = mens. If the value in B does not equal mens, then leave the C cell blank. I've manually populated column C to show the end result that I'm looking for.

I tried a simple =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Small",A2)),"S",""), etc., but I can't figure out how to incorporate the additional condition that would let the cell return a value ONLY when a condition in B is also met.

NBVC helped me with a similar request previously, but with that formula, if the condition wasn't met, the cell returned "#N/A" instead of being blank.
