I am doing a Golf scorecard but I have been having trouble figuring out how to calculate the last 6 lowest scores in a series of about 30 scores. What formula to use? Series looks like this
43 52 52 51 44 44 60 54 40 50 53 = 272
I have a series of raws with 7 numbers in each raw; sums may vary a lot from raw to raw, and also differences between one number and the other in a same raw.
Now, i need to obtain a much simpler distribution of scores, so reducing differences.
I would need to transform all numbers into a 0-4 score distribution, according to differences between numbers in a same raw. It's like a kind of rank score.
I want to obtain in each raw:
- 1-2 numbers with score = 4 (if three or more numbers have similar values: no 4 scores)
- a maximum of 3-4 numbers with score 2-3 (according to differences between these numbers but also also according to the 4 scores already assigned)
- all other scores = 1 if the numbers are >0
- all other scores = 0 if the numbers are 0
example: |14|23|3|0|45|0|10| => |2|3|1|0|4|0|2|
Would it be possible to do with Excel?
I have a series of numbers in cells B2 to G2. The maximum value of each of these columns is found in B5 to G5. Is there a formula that will calculate the percentage of each of the values in row 2 (B2 to G2) and tell me which is the lowest number based on the percentage? Example...
Row 2: 12, 100, 43, 1444, 141, 332
Row 5: 25, 140, 55, 3000, 244, 440
Which number in row 2, is the lowest percentage of the total possible points found in row 5?
B2 is 45% (12 divided by 25), C2 is 71%, D2 is 78%, E2 is 48%, F2 is 58%, G2 is 75%.
I want a formula to tell me in a new cell that "12" (in B2) is the lowest percentage in that series.

I have the formula working for the average of the 4 lowest of all, using "AVERAGE" and "SMALL"; need for average of 4 lowest in most recent 7
Needed for a golf league where the average of the best three of five games is needed - so, low score is better but score must be greater than zero. Each row is a player, column A is the players name, B-F 5 different games and the average will be in column G. I tried this formula but if someone didn't play at least 3 games SMALL returns the #NUM! error value. If I enter 0 for games not played then SMALL picks up the 0 as the lowest score. =(SMALL(B3:F3,1)+SMALL(B3:F3,2)+SMALL(B3:F3,3))/3. How to nest the different functions (if>0, small, and avg would be good too)

It must be able to work even if there are missed entries (someone didn't show up/blanks ignored). I would like it to work if there are only three scores used at the beginning of the season, but when there are 5 or more scores, use only the 4 lowest scores out of the last 5. I want it to average these scores. The scores would start in column d. The following is an example of scores with an underscore being a blank:

I need a formula to figure the 5 lowest of last 6 sores, since everyone doesn't play every week there would be blank spaces and it needs to just give me the average if they have less than 6 scores!
I have manipulated the formulas until I am blue in the face and cannot get it to work;
I'm holding a Reverse Auction where people pay a dollar to place a bid, BUT the twist is they are giving me a number that they how will be the lowest number but it has to be the only occurrence of that number (greater than 0).
During the party people can guess as much as they want to pay. I think i'll use a spreadsheet with their names in column A and go out in the row with however many cells for how many numbers they guess (so there would be blank cells in the overall range of the whole list if one guy buys 10 numbers and another only 1, for example).
So, i need a cell at the bottom that tells me the lowest number that wasn't guessed more than one time.
I've found how to FIND duplicates and the lowest number but i don't know how to write it so that it discards the duplicates.
I am creating a line chart with markers using 5 series of data. I want to colour in/shade the area under the lowest series.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a macro or formula that can calculate the difference to the lowest of col C based on option in colB. See attached. I complete what it should look like in F. Basically, this can be done by sorting the data by colB and using this formual for every group. =C2-MIN($C$2:$C$4). This is not ideal because I have many of these to do and you have to adjust the min range for every group. Plus group sizes will vary.
There has to be a better way. Ideally, I would not like to have to sort the data, unless a macro did it for me....
What I am doing is taking the below info which is only a portion of what I am really using but I need to calculate who appears in the lowest 25% of the entire ranking but also if they were there for both months... is this possible cause I cant seem to figure this out?

I am looking for a way to find a highest (and/or) lowest value in a list of numbers. The list keeps getting longer and after a certain point I will need the 2 highest (or lowest), then the 3 highest (or lowest). I know MIN and MAX will find the high and low, but how do I find the 2nd highest, etc?

I know this is probably really easy to do but I am new with excel. I have a list of 8 numers in 8 cells and was able to find the lowest. But now I need to take the list and subtract the lowest number from the second lowest and have the difference dispay in the target cell.

I have found the highest and lowest absolute values (numbers over 7.5, and less than 5, out of 10), but I would also like to generate the 5 highest and lowest relative numbers, ie. if there are no scores over 7.5, then the 5 next highest numbers. I have used if/then formulas for the absolute highest and lowest numbers, and a rank/countif formula to rank them. I have no idea how to generate a list of the "relative strengths and weaknesses".

I have two sheets:
Sheet one has dates, my prices on each of those days, and the fields h1 h2 h3 h4 (h1 is the closest higher number, h2 is the next closet higher number, etc.) and l1 l2 l3 l4 (l1 is the closest lower number, etc. etc.)
Sheet two has certain dates and prices of a competitor's prices.
What I'm trying to do is two things (see attached):
1) find the four closest higher and four closest lower prices (if available)
2) use only the prices that are on or before the date in question.
I've tried combinations like LARGE and OFFSET and so far it is not getting me anywhere.
Can this be done???
I have a list of numbers in cells A1:A10, these numbers change frequently. I would like to set up a formula to calculate the 3 lowest values from those numbers and list the three lowest values in cells J1:J3, with lowest value on J1 and the highest of the 3 values in J3.
I know I can use the small/large functions for this, but im not sure how to work it out to use just the 3 lowest values.

I need to be able to select all the rows or ranges that contain a common value 1's and then loop back and select the next group 2's of rows until the row or column contains "".
I have a spreadsheet that lists items in column A with a start date in column B. What I need to do is in in column C list the next review date in increments of 5 days, but I only want the next day to show from the current date, not the inputted start date.
For example:

Can I get a formula to calculate the increments and only show the next calendar date for the review, and then to change to the next date once the previous date has passed.

There are scores in B1:B10 (10 scores). I want to take the top 8 scores. So I used this formula which works just fine.
=SUM(LARGE(B1:B10,1),LARGE(B1:B10,2),LARGE(B1:B10,3),LARGE(B1:B10,4),LARGE(B1:B10,5),LARGE(B1:B10,6) ,LARGE(B1:B10,7),LARGE(B1:B10,8))
But I'm trying to make the formula a bit more dynamic. Is there anyway to have a set of data in B1:B50 (50 scores will probably be the most) and take the top x scores? X will be set in a separate cell (lets just say A1)?
