How To Send Object To Back So That Cells Appear On Top
Apr 25, 2014
I am using Excel to fill in information for W-9 tax documents. I have formulas on one sheet that pull from other sheets where the numbers for the form are entered. Currently we have to put the actual form in the printer. I'd like to embed the form into excel so that the numbers pulled by the formulas and the form itself all print. The problem I'm having is I can not get the form to sit in the background. The cells are hidden behind the form and do not show up when printing.
Where each (i.e., A1) represents a location. I have tried to use a coordinate system but this will not work for the back-to-back locations. (Assuming each location is 2 feet wide, For example A1 to C1 is 4 feet apart, not 2 feet (as Euclidean or rectilinear would calculate it as).
Would there be a way to incorporate an if statement for those locations that are back-to-back? As a rectilinear distance calculation would work as long as the locations are not part of the same "block".
Ultimately I am looking to have a matrix which contains all the distances between each location:
I used Scheduled Task to set up my spreadsheet to open daily. I have the code with assistance to pull out the due date items and place them into an email.
I have come across XLSTART/AUTOEXEC/ACTIVATE...ETC... But cannot figure out the code that will automatically "enabling macro" once Scheduled Task opens the spreadsheet?
Then once the macro runs, the email with the due dates, how can this auto send without user interaction? (currently I would have to hit send)
I am trying to make the process totally automated to open the spreadsheet at a certain time, send the email with due dates and close the spreadsheet.
Following code in ThisWorkbook--
Private Sub Workbook_Open() Check_Date_Send_Mail End Sub Code in Module1--
Option Explicit Sub Check_Date_Send_Mail() Dim wbBook As Workbook Dim wsSheet As Worksheet Dim rnDate As Range, rnValue As Range Dim stAddress As String, stMsg As String Dim stRecipient As String, stSubject As String Dim stPost As String Set wbBook = ThisWorkbook Set wsSheet = wbBook.Worksheets("Sheet1") With wsSheet Set rnDate = .Range("d2:t23") End With
We use proprietary software to connect to an oracle database. The proprietary software has its own login form. I connect to 4 or 5 different databases randomly throughout the day. I wrote a script that I thought would alleviate my login woes but it doesn't work. The login, password, and database info get sent to the form but they all end up on the login line. Instead of the tab character being sent, I get a Beep generated for each line of code that is supposed to send the tab key code. My code is below and is stored in a *.vbs file.
setwshShell =wScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") wshShell.AppActivate "Title Of My Login Form" wScript.Sleep 100 wshShell.SendKeys "My Login Name" wScript.Sleep 500 wshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}" wScript.Sleep 500 wshShell.SendKeys "My Password" wScript.Sleep 500 wshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}" wScript.Sleep 500 wshShell.SendKeys "Name of My Database" wScript.Sleep 500 wshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}" wScript.Sleep 500 wshShell.SendKeys "~"
The code brings up the message box the way I need it to
At the bottom of the code in the standard module is what I changed. In the message box. If the GDT button is clicked the GDT chart opens. If the Symbol button is clicked the Symbol chart opens. This all works.
But will I select a symbol from the symbols chart it will appear in the cell that is double clicked. but then end up as a letter instead of a symbol.
But, the gdt chart works perfect.
I thought Cancel = True Would do the trick but does not. Any ideas what is missing??
This code below is in the sheet module
Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClicK(ByVal Target As range, Cancel As Boolean) ThisWorkbook.Unprotect ActiveSheet.Unprotect With Application Cancel = True............
I am using excel to analyze stock changes. Yahoo spits out a column with dates and another with closing prices but occasionally inserts a row showing a dividend, something like this:
In the spreadsheet, column A is date and Column E is closing price, such that the cell in column E where the dividend is listed is blank.
The problem- as I update data each week, the dividend row moves. How can I consistently figure price changes for 4 weeks and 13 weeks without getting messed up by the dividend row? Is there to auto delete the row or make the formula count down 4 cells in the price column, while skipping any cells without data?
In the attached sheet I need to check on the Destination in column B, and if it matches set criteria, divide the figure in Column E by 2. eg If LAX is the destination, then for any rows directly under LAX until the next destination appears, column E needs to equal column D divided by 2. If the Destination is not LAX, then Column E equals Column D.
the difficulty I am having is that there can be a variety of row numbers for each destination. I am having trouble creating a formula that can basically work backwards from Row-1 in column B until it gets to a text string, and check that text string against the criteria. so it may be row -1 up to about row -9 dependant on the number of flight times available to each destination throughout the week.
How to send a range of cells in a sms text message by using Visual Basic for Applications in Excel?
BTW: I really need this to work for my job! So any feedback would be greatly welcomed. Please read below to understand what I'm trying to do. I need to be able to send my guys their daily goals via sms text message:
The following works great for sending a range of cells in a email message: ....
I've got a forecast from a customer and need to summarize it with part number, quantity and date.
The spreadsheet is part no in column a due dates in row 1 values at the intersection of part no and due date and i don't want 0 quantity to report back.
I am trying to create a spreadsheet to monitor behavior modification progress for children. I need to figure out a way to be able to send an email notification when there is a blank cell in a column that has been there longer or equal to 24 hours.
Right now when I send/receive an HTTP request, I have the text displaying in a MSG Box. I want to just have the text inserted into cell A1 instead. I know I have to alter MsgBox MyRequest.ResponseText, but anything Ive altered it to, doesn't seem to work.
Code: Sub http() Dim MyRequest As Object Set MyRequest = CreateObject("WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1") MyRequest.Open "GET", _ "Google" ' Send Request. MyRequest.Send 'And we get this response MsgBox MyRequest.ResponseText End Sub
I have been working on my spreadsheet for sometime now, so far when I run into a code problem I can figure it out using someone eles's post. However, I can't seem to figure this one out. I need to send data from a userform to specific cells on my spreadsheet based upon the users selection in combobox 1, and textbox 1.
Example: User selects customer name from Combobox1, and part number auto loads into textbox1 from the data sheet.
There are then 11 combobox's that can be clicked as the userform is updated. Once the user is finished, I need the answers from each combobox to transfer to the worksheet next to the referenced Combobox1 and textobox1.
I used the code that RoyUk posted to him, but have only been able to get the first combobox to copy to the sheet, the rest stay blank.
(Here is the code so far)
Private Sub CommandButton2_Click() Dim ce As Range, srcRng As Range Dim sYear As String, sMonth As String
sYear = UserForm3.ComboBox1.Text 'When combobox1 is loaded, use as reference#1 sMonth = UserForm3.TextBox1.Text 'When textbox1 is loades, use as reference #2 Set srcRng = Range("c2", Range("c65536").End(xlUp)) 'Search range on worksheet For Each ce In srcRng
I have a form in excel (very simple) that I need to put on the web - People can then fill out certiain bits of the information and the idea is that they then click on the button to email it back to me. Ie complete it there and then and email it straight away so that they don't need to save it etc.
I can't for the life of me work out how to do this! I've managed to get the macro to open an email with the correct details on but not paste in the information so am at a complete loss and appear to be going round in circles!
I have 4 combo boxes with selectable options and several cells for inputting data into. I'm looking to create a reset button that returns combo box values back to the first one in the list and clears all cells at the same time. I've figured out the cell reset as follows;
I have used a database template from this site and changed it to suit my needs but I have a bit of a problem with some of the code. I know how to update the worksheet with the relevant userform text fields and in another project I did I have successfully sent userform text fields in the body of an email.
For this project I want to update the worksheet AND send an email at the same time. However, using the two pieces of code together is causing an error that I can't seem to solve (using my very limited vba knowledge!). The code I am working on is below and I have highlighted the line that is getting the error message. C
VB: Private Sub cmdSubmit_Click() 'Submit new record Dim ws As Worksheet, lRow As Long, Str As String [code]....
I am trying to write a macro to send mail on every Friday and also on last day of every month. If the last day of the month falls on Saturday or Sunday then the macro should mail on Friday. I have written a separate macro to send a mail. I have also written to check day(ie Monday, Tuesday etc) of today. If today is Friday or month end i can send mail. I dont know how to tell the macro to send mail on friday if the month last date is saturday or sunday.
Sub done() Dim Dat As Date, x As Integer, y As Date, sorry As String Dim str As String sorry = "Today is not friday or month end. So i cannot send mails" str = WeekdayName(Weekday(Now()))
I have a compilation of data on all employees ( named agents in here). On one sheet I will show graphs on diffrent figures for a specific agent. They choose which agent from a validation box in the cell 1,2 (range A2). When they have done that, I make a new list for the daterange and Cell 1,4 and Cell 1,6 (Range A4, Range A6) are validationboxes showing that list. The cells are empty to begin with.
When all validationboxes are filled, I do the graphs, and here comes the problem. After doing the graphs I get an errormessage on saying that "Method 'Cells' of object '_Global' failed" when it comes to the if-statement that has the Daterange-call in it. Ie: I dont get the errormessage when it DOESNT do the ShowCharts-sub, but after it has done that, I do get the errormessage.
Private Sub Workbook_SheetChange(ByVal Sh As Object, ByVal Target As Range) Application.EnableEvents = False Application. ScreenUpdating = False 'Cell 1,2 = Validation-box based on a list of agents 'Cell 1,4 = Startdate for the data to be picked for the graphs. 'Cell 1,6 = Enddate for the data to be picked for the graphs. If Not (Cells(1, 2).Value = Empty And Cells(1, 4).Value = Empty And Cells(1, 6).Value = Empty) Then......................
I am trying to find particular text in a cell then format adjacent cells in the same row. In my code below I am trying to search for "*[Tx]*" using Like, however this is formatting all text that contain "T".
The problem that I am having today is defining a range object that cannot include null cells. If it does include Null cells then the filterwill fail. the cells that I need to define are all in a cohesive unit. the other thing to know is that the cells that are not null will never be mixed in with cells that are null. so for instance you might have a range of cells from one to 100, the first 50 might be full. the last 50 would all be null. in that situation I would need to loop through those cells to define a range object that would just see the first 50 cells ....
I am looking to create a macro that will create a new sheet when data is added on a summary sheet. Example.
1. Summary sheet called "Variations" contains columns that will contain the information needed for new sheet (Columns A to D)
2. When data is entered on "Variations" sheet: Column B, then macro automatically creates new sheet renamed to e.g. VO1 (Number used on "Variations" tab) and is a copy of "Master" tab.
3. Data entered in Column A to D on "Variations" tab is automatically entered onto new sheet created (e.g VO1). Shown is blue on attached file. Additional data is updated on "VO1" sheet and this then links back to "Variations" tab
