Hyperlink To Specific Sheets Which Created Automatically
Jul 7, 2013
my 1st sheet like this : A1="Reg.No."
B1="Name"
i want -when type a No.&Name in A2 & B2 to inserted a new sheet (sheet2)which is it's name is that No.&Name and also a link between the cell and sheet...
I attach an example worksheet with the code I have thus far.
In my workbook I have other sheets, one of which changes and updates a specific one each time a new client's data is entered on said other sheet. Because I want to save the specific client's data and not lose it when another client's stuff is entered on this other sheet, I copy the sheet where the data is summarised (I called this sheet "Sheet to Copy From") to a newly inserted sheet and use Paste Special, Values Only to change all functions /f ormulae / Links ect to values.
I then change the name of the sheet to the name of the client.
I then use this sheet name / cell value to polulate a range on another sheet (Next Empty Cell) as a Hyperlink to the newly created sheet above. This sheet I called "Table of Contents".
how to code the hyperlink. Using Macro Recorder uses the specific case's names, but the Tab name to be used as Hyperlink value will always be the name of a new client,
I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that has a data validation in it. I have a drop down list that has to options to select; Yes and no. Every time I create a new row to add more information I have to go through the process of creating a new data validation for for each cell in this coloumn.
Is there anyway of creating a way that every time I insert a new row, a data validation list box will appear in the coloumn that I want it in?
if it is possible to write/record a macro that will automatically add a summary/total row immediately below the data that is created from an advanced filter. (XL00)
I need to creat a bunch of sheets and do the same work for each of the sheets. My problem is that I do not know how to refer them by the created name. Here is an example of my codes:
Sub test() Dim I As Integer
For I = 1998 To 2010 Sheets.Add.Name = I Sheets("Number").Activate Range("A1:A3").Select Selection.Copy Sheets(I).Select Range("A1").Select Selection.Paste
Next I
End Sub
The error is "Subscript out of Range". I believe it is because when I refer a sheets(I), (I) does not recognize as the name of the sheet but the number of that sheet, and there is no sheet numbered 1998 or bigger. However, If I refer the sheet as sheets("I"), it can not find the sheet named "I" either.
How should I refer those sheets name so that I can do some work?
I have a workbook with three sheets: Collections, Client and Interest New sheets created from a range in Sheets("Interest"). The range in Sheets("Interest") holds the client names.
Then the template in Sheets("Client") is copied and pasted into the new sheets
For each new sheets cell B6 holds the client name and .Range("A10:A1317") holds the dates Sheets("Collections").Range("D10:D1317") holds the dates and .Range("D8:WC8") holds the Client Names if Sheets("Collections").Range("D8:WC8") = new sheet.cells(6, 4) then if Sheets("Collections").Range("D10:D1317") = new sheet .range("A10:A1317") then copy the value in Sheets("Collections").Range("D10:WC10").offset(0, 3) to new sheet .Range("C10:C1317") end if
I want to create a hyperlink to a sheet named "adsf"
I am currently in a worksheet named: "62b Arcus"
I want the hyperlink to be set by grabbing the name from another cell.
For example, In cell h7, I have the text: adsf
In cell g7, I want to place a formula such as: =HYPERLINK("adsf!")
Except, instead of this, I want: =HYPERLINK("h7!")
In this way, i want it to hyperlink to a sheet name based on the text that is in h7.
But neither of these formulas work. Both say the following: "Cannot Open the Specified File"
After reading up on this I have discovered that I must save the file and include the file name inside the formula.
My file name is: [Maintenance Color Codes of Houses - colour coded2.xlsm] =HYPERLINK("[Maintenance Color Codes of Houses - colour coded2.xlsm]adsf!A1","LINK")
This hyperlink actually works. Yet I have a problem. What if I rename the file. For this reason, I want it to grab the current file name using "filename". I have tried this by the following:
I know that I have probably created a ridiculous formula for what I am after. I'm almost there but not quite. You may know something far, far more simple.
I run into is that many of our staff don't know there are tabs at the bottom of the page that show different worksheets. writing some VBA code that would grab the names of all the sheets and create a single sheet with the tabs listed as buttons that would hyperlink to each sheet of it's given name. Kind iof an index for the sheets.
Also bonus if 3 rows could be insterted on each of those pages with a button that links back to the index page.
I have a workbook with the following sheets i do not want to hide called "Detailed Template", "INTERFACES", "STATUS".
I then have a number of worksheets which have their names as cell addresses i.e. "E4", "E5", "D4", "F4", "G7" and so on.
I would like to hide all worksheets (except the 3 mentioned at the top [which are sheets 1-3]) and any which contain say the value of '4'. This value is defined by a cell in the "INTERFACES" worksheet say 'A1' for example.
I want the macro to be able to automatically do this for which ever value is in 'A1'. So if it were to change to '7' it would hide every sheet that doesn't contain '7' in the name.
I have a excel spreadsheet that on sheet 1 has a list of about 130 numbers. Each of these numbers is linked to a specific sheet within the workbook. What im trying to do is write a macro that once i do a FIND it will find the number typed in the find box, once it finds that number on sheet 1, it will automatically select that hyperlink and take me the the correct sheet.
Right now the macro will find the number but I cant get it to auto select the hyperlinkand take me to the correct sheet.
Is there a way that under "Type the Cell Reference" that you can make it automatically change to the cell the hyperlink is on?
The reason why i ask this is because I have hyperlinks linking to there current cell but once i delete a row above that... the cell refernece doesnt change therefore changing the cell reference to the cell above it
I want to be able to create a hyperlink in a cell that is the result of a simple reference formula. i.e. if cell A1 on worksheet A is a formula "='SheetB"!A1", can I create a hyperlink automatically from SheetA Cell A1 to 'SheetB'!A1?
I would like for the hyperlink to be is cell A1, so I beleive that would be a macro / VBA solution.
Also, is there a formula solution that could go in B1 "=hyperlink(A1)", where the formula will then recognize the referenced cell (rather that the formula result) and hyperlink to SheetB:A1?
, but as my knowledge in VB very limited I'm unable to make the neccessary modifications to fit my case. the case: the warehouse I'm working on is tracked by a big and messy excel file that includes details about various components. the warehouse is virtually represented by folders that represent a drawer, each drawer includes 0-10 components's dateasheets in pdf file format. I'm looking for a script that would hyperlink the specific pdf to each component to a certain column that includes the component's name. there's another column in the excel that supplies in which drawer the component resides as you can see:
You can also see how the drawers are represented virtually by folders with datesheets inside components 20-29 all reside in drawer 20.
its worth noting that sometimes the whole drawer is empty and so both the column in excel and the folder will be aswell. the script should(I assume) check the pdf's filename in the drawer( mostly the files's name look like in the screenshot), but sometimes the name is only the component's name,so if there is no drawer number before the component's name it would still know how to identify and hyperlink the pdf.
In Range B1 (Sheet1 in this case, just not on sheet4), I have Validation set up to allow the user to click on the required name of a client selected from a list.
I want this constantly changing value of B1, once selected, to become the value currently shown as Sheet4 of the SubAddress above.
e.g., if B1 is Harry, the SubAddress should read:
Selection.Hyperlinks(1).SubAddress = "Harry!B1"
There will be a sheet named Harry and this following of the link must go to B1 on the sheet named Harry (or whatever sheet's name appears in Sheet1, Cell B1).
I have an excel file that is used to record information about particular projects. We need to record dates related to these events and these are stored on separate worksheets. These use a key of sorts, where the unique references are replicated on all worksheets.
I have set up the data sheet to generate the unique identifier and the hyperlinks to the Received! and Sent! worksheets automatically as new unique references are added to the Data! worksheet.
What I would like is a VBA code to populate hyperlinks in the Received! and Sent! worksheets in column B, to link back to the Data! worksheet unique reference.
I had used formulas in the past, but the Data! worksheet is massive. I've needed to write hundreds of hyperlink formulas referencing blank spaces in the Data! sheet in anticipation of new projects. It would be better if they were populated as the sheet expanded.
I have hundreds or even thousands of images stored at C:Mydocument location. Is there a way to write a formula to hyperlink these images in an excel spreadsheet having the exact file name listed in one column. I only know how to hyperlink them individually. Since I have so many of them, it is nice to have a formula to do it quickly.
A few example of the image file names are: FTCa 108328A1 CD11B-CD68 FTCa 108208A1 Folr2-CD68 FTCa 108208A1 CD11B-CD68 FTCa 77398A2 CD11B-CD68
I have 25 sheets in the workbook and a combobox on the main page, The combobox references a range of 1-25 that represents the 25 hidden pages. right now i can get the sheets to unhide one at a time based on the selection e.g. combobox option 1 will unhide sheet 1 but the sheet are representing sites in a design so i need to have the option to select multiple sites in the combobox option so for example if i select 5 then sheets 1-5 should unhide. I hope I've explained that clearly.
The other question or option would be to just duplicate sheet 1 based on the combobox selection e.g. selection 5 duplicates sheet 1 5 times.
I have an excel spreadsheet with a column for hyperlinks. Any information added into that column needs to be a hyperlink. How can I format the entire column so that when a user cuts and pastes the text will automatically turn into a hyperlink?
Where hyperlink is a string that is valid. ( i tested by doing a cut and paste to the browser and it works ! ) When i launch the macro, it always bring me to the login screen. But if i do a cut and paste, it will bring me direct to the content i want.
I have an Excel file to distribute to users. This file must contain Hyperlinks to a Word file which i will enbed in a sheet of the Excel file itself. My question is this: Is it possible to produce Hyperlinks that go to the specific part of the Word document? So far, i am only able to Hyperlink to the first page of the Word doc, by doing a macro.
I have a total of 15 sheets on my excel documents. I've hidden 10 (5 sheets will be shown) of those sheets so i can hyperlink to them from the sheet called "The plan". The name of the hidden sheets are called:
