Code:
dim rmycell as range
If rmycell.value = MyTarget then
This works fine when rmycell.value is empty or has a value. However, sometimes rmycell has a #VALUE! Error. When debugging the code I can see this error showing rymcell with a value of "Error 2015". The MyTarget variable is "abcdefg", so the If statement should resolve as
Code:
If rmycell.value = MyTarget then
becomes
Code:
If Error 2015 = "Abcdefg" then
Which should be a negative result. Except it isn't. The code that is conditional on a positive result runs whenever there is a #VALUE error, just as if the 2 values were equal.
I have a line graph that will not show the result of an IF statement. I have deleted and recreated the graph, linked the results to different cells, but nothing works.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to tell Excel to sum only up to a certain point? Like if A1 through AF equal 50, but I only want it to sum up to 40, to stop at 40?
Is there also a way to tell Excel using IF that if a statement evaluating a number is true or false, to return the value up until a certain number. For instance, if the value is 8 or less, then it should return that number, but if it exceeds beyond 8, say for instance 12, then if the value is 12, only return 8.
Column A = program which could be 100%, 90/10 or 80/20
Column B = Dollar amount submitted
Column C = results
I need a formula in C1 that says:
if A1=100% then B1*100%, if A1=90/10 then B1*90%, if A1=80/20 then B1*80%.
With 2 programs my if statement worked fine, but now that there's a 3rd I can't get my if statement to work properly.
Is it possible to write an if statement to display a picture if a cell contains a certain value? Ive got if statements nailed, its not a problem with that i have, just the returning of an image, rather than text ar a hyperlink.
Eg, "if cell A1="stadium", to show a picture of a stadium in cell C1"
I have a worksheet called "Raw Data" where in columns J, I and G contain values. I would like to write a formula whereby if all 3 conditions are met, it will count the number of values found in column C.
I've tried to write an IF statement but it just returns FALSE, despite the result being true. Need the right combination of IF/AND statements that would do this?
=IF(AND('Raw Data'!$J:$J="Maintenance",'Raw Data'!$I:$I="Open",'Raw Data'!$G:$G="1-2008"),COUNT('Raw Data'!$C:$C)). I've tried to attach the workbook, but there's a problem with uploading attachments I think. Sorry if my explanation is unclear.
I've got a formula that has numerous nested IF statement and am trying to get the true result to be the first of a given month of the current year. Here's my formula:
Code:
=IF(Setup!$B$3="X","1/1",IF(Setup!$C$3="X","2/1",IF(Setup!$D$3="X","3/1",IF(Setup!$E$3="X","4/1",
IF(Setup!$F$3="X","5/1",IF(Setup!$G$3="X","6/1",IF(Setup!$H$3="X","7/1",IF(Setup!$I$3="X","8/1",
IF(Setup!$J$3="X","9/1",IF(Setup!$K$3="X","10/1",IF(Setup!$L$3="X","11/1",IF(Setup!$M$3="X","12/1",""))))))))))))
Everything works, save that the cell becomes 1/1 with no year at all. I've messed around a bit with TEXT and various DATE/MONTH/YEAR functions on this one, but can't seem to get it correct.
When I drag my VLOOKUP formula down a column in Excel 2010, the return value copies the formula result from the original VLOOKUP formula result. For example, if the first VLOOKUP returns a value of 0.5, I expect to see 0.5 or 1 in the cell below that one. However, I get 0.5 which is not the expected result for the cell below.
When, I click the fx on the cells below, the expected return values appear in the formula result. After I click OK, the expected formula results updates and now appears in the cell.
I'm not sure what is causing this issue. My computer was updated recently from an old machine to a new one. I have never experienced this issue before.
I am trying to write a formula using If statement to output the result "True".
I have 4 columns (P3, T3, AD3, AK3) that store a value of either "Yes" or "No", I want to check the column if they are equal to "Yes". I have written a formula but it only works for 1 column at the minute, i not sure how to add the other columns into the formula:
=IF(P3="Yes","True")
I have a formula in a cell which attempts to grab a value on another sheet that's dynamically changing in real-time (it's a live stock price changing in realtime via DDE). My objective is to grab this current live stock price when it is between the times of 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM, bt as *soon* as it goes past 5 PM, I want this formula cell to display the very *last* (ie.the one just before) value it had just before the time rolled over past 5 pm.
Here's my formula:
I'm trying to set up an if statement that will recognize that if a cell is FHR it will do something...but if it's PHR it will do something else. I think I found the place where I keep getting an error but I'm not sure how to go about fixing the issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to have a cell in sheet "Summary" count the number of cells in column DX of sheet "Analyses" that are greater than 0, provided that the value in column A of "Analyses" corresponds with the value in B8 of sheet "Summary."
(In "Analyses," there are 106 subjects, each taking up 64 rows. So, columns 1-64 correspond to Subject 1, columns 65-128 correspond to subject 2, etc. In column DX, each subject has 64 values that are either 0 or greater than 0. In "Summary," each subject has one row that summarizes the 64 trials. I want a single cell in the "Summary," sheet to reflect the number of times each subject produces a value greater than 0 in column DX of "Analyses.") I tried using this formula, but it did not work correctly:
=COUNTIF(IF(Analyses!$A$1:$A$10000=Summary!B8,Analyses!$DX$1:$DX$10000,""),">0")
(Summary!B8 = 1, so I am trying to calculate the number of values in DX that are greater than 0 only for subject 1.) When I press enter, this yields a value of 384. This is impossible, given that subject 1 only has 64 possibilities of yielding a value greater than 0. Subject 1 has 2 values in column DX that are greater than 0. I tried making this an array formula by pressing Shift+Ctrl+Enter, and that just gives me a #VALUE! error.
I have excel result sheet which contains students information. i.e. name, subjects and their corresponding marks, grade, percentage etc. So from that sheet I want to print result cards for each students separately from the data (result sheet).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do a formula that references a cell and returns a different result dependant on the number in the cell being referenced.
For example I've said if A1 has a 3 in it then put the word TEST as the result, plus if it has a 4 put the word RESULT.
What I wrote as my formula is as follows-
=IF(A1=3,"TEST")+IF(A1=4,"RESULT")
It works fine when I only use one result but goes wrong when I add two. If I change the words I want to show to numbers it comes up fine but with words it just returns a Value error.
Macro Based on an input cell’s (e.g. B12) setting of “yes” or “no”, format several other cells (e.g. B20:G20, B23:F23, C26:J26) as follows: keep the existing yellow shading if input cell is “yes”, change to grey shading if input cell is “no”. I would like this macro to run automatically whenever the input cell value is changed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 4 categories A, B, C & D. These are in desending importance, means A is most important and D is least important. Now there could be many A, B, C & Ds listed in a column. The challange is if coulmn contains A anywhere then the result should be A. If A is absent, then search for B, if present anywhere then display the result as B. It doesn't matter how many times A or any character is listed in column. I am attaching a sheet for better explanation.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a simple auto numbering function whereby Cell A7 contained =Row()-6, and Cell A8 contained =(A7+1). I then shift, and pasted the contents of cell A8 until cell A600. My aim is to simply copy the increments of 1 - 600 into another column. However when i copy and paste i'm also copying the initial underlying formula ie: =( A?+1), Is there a way to copy the results, not the formula?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a formula that looks at a cell on a front sheet, and then returns the contents of that cell as the result if it meets the criteria. So for example this formula would be in Cell A1 on Sheet2 IF(SHEET1!A1,"New",Sheet1!A1,"-")
This formula is always in the same cell (different sheet) as the cell that it is looking at, down 1500 rows. Instead of having the formula named for each cell is there anyway to ask excel to 'look at this cell but on this other sheet'.
e.g IF(Sheet1!"This Cell" etc). That way no matter what cell you put the formula in it is always referencing the correct cell for the formula?
Need to find the first cell above the active cell containing any sort of variable (integer, string value, cell fill colour, named range, etc...).
For example, a column contains multiple integer values between 1 and 10. I would like the macro to "locate" a specified value, say 3. Ideally the macro will select the first cell matching this criteria, located above the active cell. Once located, the resulting cell will be added to a range to be copy-pasted to a new worksheet.
I am planning to use this code for various applications in a workbook I am creating. At present the code will be used to locate string values, and cell fill colours. It is also likely this will extend to other types of variables in the future.
I've found information relating to the find function, but nothing specifically to find the first result above the active cell.
I'm trying to work out the way of having a cell give a result based on what has been input into two other cells.
Basically I'm doing up a risk management spreadsheet. I need to have in one cell the LIKELIHOOD of an incident, in the second cell, the CONSEQUENCES of it happening and ending up with a RISK MANAGEMENT ASSESSMENT in the third cell.
I am trying to make the colour of cell change depending on the result in an adjacent cell and have found and adapted the following:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim icolor As Integer
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("x4:x202")) Is Nothing Then
Select Case Target
Case 11
icolor = 43
Case 21
icolor = 43
Case 31
icolor = 27
Case 41
icolor = 27................
I am currently using an Intersect statement in a worksheet module to perform two things:
1. Insert a time stamp into row 2 when row 1 has a price inserted
2.To clear that time stamp if the price is deleted at some later date.
My problem is with the time stamp value being deleted by the user.
If I try to clear the price (now that the time cell =empty) I get a Runtime error 91 - Object Variable or With block variable not set.
I would like to convert this code to a select case statement but I'm not sure how to do this in this situation. Would error coding be appropriate in this instance?
I will like to ask, if there is a way to get in a cell the result of a simple equation without having to copy the contents of that cell with a = in front for example if i have in one cell
15*2+35*4+30/2
in the next cell to display the result
185
I have a value in Cell A1. Now, I need to be able to enter a number into Cell A3 and upon hitting Enter (or clicking elsewhere), the number I just entered into Cell A3 needs to be replaced with the number I just entered multiplied by the number in Cell A1. For Example: Cell A1 contains the number 1.05. I type 2.50 into Cell A3 and upon hitting Enter Cell A3 reads 2.625.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two dropdowns, both use a different source lists and both use the same reference cell to deliver the result, My problem is I need the contents of the cell to be deleted and the new result inserted. At the moment if the cell is already filled the new result is put in the next column.
What I would like to happen is to have two dropdowns one above the other (B2 and B4) and the result in a cell below them in B6, which ever dropdown is used the result will fill the cell B6 this cell is then used for vlookup.
I want to sum cell A1 and result will be displayed in B1

Is there a way with a formula to have a result of one cell pasted in a different cell? ie. C1's formula =if(and(isnumber(a1),isnumber(b1)),b1-a1,if(and(isnumber(a1),isblank(b1)), b1 = d1,"")
A B C D
12/18/06 formula above =today()
if b1 isbalnk it will copy the value of d1 to b1. I dont know if this can be done i have looked at offset and a few others but it doesnt look like this can be done but want to see if i have over looked domething
