I need a way to copy part of contents from a cell, the cell contains product information like size, name and weight of a product, and I need a copy the weight to be put in it’s own cell, here’s a copy of one cell “E65 MAPP SKDV 5 DIGIT 90G ST.K” the information I need from this is “90” the number is always followed by a capital G, but it’s between two and three digits where the lowest is 55G and the highest is 300G. Is this possible?

To Find Part Contents Of A Cell

I've got a code that does what I want it to do, but I have to select the start point manually becuase it's position varies on different documents. It's usually around row 650 out of 1200, but the cell I want to start the macro at always contains the word ELECTRONIC. What I would like to do is modify my code so that it finds that cell itself and then runs the rest of the code. I'm not very good with VBA, but I've tried a few things like Dim LR-2 and using that but I get error messages about duplicates.

Insert Cell Contents From One Column Into Another Based On Specific Part?

I have a spreadsheet with four columns of text.

In column A, i have multiple levels followed by a letter (i.e. Level 1A, Level 1B etc).

In column B, i have some other details and then so on and so forth.

In column C/E/G lets say, i want to copy the information from column A to show only items that appear as "Level 1" (not "Level 1A", i only want it to check for things without the letter at the end). Then the same in column E but with "Level 2" and so on and so forth.

Column A...Column B-Column C...Column D--Column E...Column F--Column G...Column H
Level 1A....Metals----Level 1A....Metals ---Level 2A....Integral---Level 3A....Television
Level 1B....Energy----Level 1B....Energy--- Level 2B....Flowers---Level 3B....Kitchen

I also have data in Column B that is to do with column A (i.e "Level 1A" - "Metals") and so on with the following columns. I want the items that are in column B to also move over to column D when the things from Column A move to Column C, so at the end it will appear as below so it appears as above.

Check Cell Contain Part Of Value From List?

how I can check if a cell contains part of a value from a list? Do I need a formula or VBA? (Both would suit)

Example:

A1= BLABLA Apple BLALBA
A2= BLABLABLA Orange BLA

List in C1:
C1= Orange
C2= Apple

If it contains one of the word, I need the function to return the word...

What I have tried:

Search formula
Match formula
VBA with "If...Like" statement

Keeping in mind that the key word Apple/Orange in A1 or A2 can be located anywhere in the "sentence" (could be after BLABLA or BLOBLOBLO or BLU etc...)

This is something I would then apply to a range (I suppose if it requires VBA, then with a loop which I would be able to manage)...

EDIT: Cells in A1/A2 will never contain two different values from the list (it is either Apple or Orange)...

How To Make False Part Of IF-statement Not To Change A Cell

Perhaps a bit cryptic but here is where I'm looking for.

Cell A1 gets the value YES (or NO) assignment by the user.
Cell B1 has some calculated value let's say 4 based on the formula If(A1="YES";2+2)

Now If the user assigns "NO" to A1 the value of Cell B1 becomes FALSE (return value of second part of the If statement)

I do not want the value of B1 changed if A1=NO and to stay the same (4)

I need to create a formula which will change the contents of the cell to one of 3 options based on the value of another cell

For example if I was using B2 as the cell to reference I need to say IF B2 = 0 then say "Closed", IF B2 = 1 then say "Open" and if its any other value then say "Error".

I'm having some trouble having all 3 if statements nested correctly.

I don't want to do this as a macro just as a formula.

I have a conditional IF statement, where I want the content of the cell to be blank if the result of the IF statement is false, ie I want the content of the cell to be as if there were no formula in the cell (this if so that the formula COUNTA(Sheet1!$B:$B) only counts the cells where the result is TRUE).

For example, IF(A1=1,1,"") where A1 1, the content of the cell will have something in it (a space), and won't be blank.

i am trying to automate altering a DAT file. Basically, each line of data in the DAT file contains an entity name, an account name, and a value. for some of the accounts, i need to change the entity name. for all other accounts, i can leave the entity name alone. if i copy the DAT file into Excel, and use text to columns, how can i create a macro to compare the accounts to a range of cells containing a list of the accounts i need to alter the entity name for, and then change the entity name if there is a match?

the account does not need to match perfectly, the accounts i input only needs to contain the reference account. the list of accounts and the entity name i need to change to are in cells on another sheet. i thought about doing a loop to run through each line of data, but i am not sure how to do that.

I will have 2 columns. In column B, will be a list of invoice numbers. Now each one starts with the "job number" (Ex. 51APGC01) then a dash and unique number per invoice. (Ex. 51APGC01-01)

In column A, will be a list of Purchase Order numbers sent by the customer so we can bill. Now, sometimes we get one PO for multiple invoices, (Ex. 03, 05, 06, 07.....)

What I am looking to do, is when I get these PO's, I enter them in and then I print a report for our billing Dept. The way the output line (cell) will read, is Job Number, then each unique number: (51APGC01-03, 05, 06, 07)

There are multiple jobs and each one has it's own report, so the job number will be dynamic and defined else where in the workbook. I can define that. It's just getting the numbers after the "-" and putting them in only.

Check Textbox Date Contents?

I need to confirm that a date is entered correctly into a userform.

This code works for a command button, but not for a WorkSheet_Change event.

My textbox is the first in the userform, and needs to be checked immediately, as the labels in the rest of the userform all change to reflect the date that was entered.

What is the best way to do this? I tried a keycode = vbKeyReturn option, but cannot get it to work?

I have a macro right now which makes a selection and then checks that selection to make sure it has less than 5,000 rows. If it has more, then a message box appears and we end the macro. However, in order for this macro to work properly for me, I need to change the if statement so that instead of checking for the amount of rows selected, I only need it to check if ROW 2 is selected. Is this possible? If not, can we have an IF statement to check the contents of ROW 2 (Row 2 is my header on the worksheet and will never change)?

I am trying to create an if statement that would check the results of a drop down menu and return a command to the user to enter certain information.

I created a drop down list, offering a list of projects 'a', 'b' or 'c'. I then created an if statement in the next cell. If user chooses project 'a' then the cell will return the project number associated with the project. The issue I am running into is that if the user chooses project 'c' in the drop down I need the cell to return a command for the user to enter the project name in the cell rather than the cell return the project number. How do I do that?
