I am attemping to transpose a column of data into a single cell. I have a list of contact information, and one of the columns is for e-mail addresses. There are filters to the right of the data with different categories so the contact information can be filtered according to the different criteria. Ultimately, the people using the spreadsheet want to use those filters to create a list of e-mail addresses to send their distributions to.
The people who are using this don't have Outlook so we can't use an output to add them to the Outlook address book. We would like to make one cell at the bottom of all the data which would include all the e-mail addresses from that column seperated with a semi colon so they can just copy the contents of that cell and paste that into the To: field on their e-mail program. I've tried several different things but I've not been able to find a solution.
I'm a basic excel user really and cannot find a function that will allow me to complete the following:
CELL A1 includes the following sequence of numbers: 1,2,1,0,2,3 I would like to know how to put a formula/function into CELL B1 that sums up the sequence of numbers in CELL A1 (i.e 1+2+1+0+2+3)
I found code on this site after searching a long time that has worked well in a larger macro I'm writing for use in Excel 2003 usage. However, I'm stumped on how to achieve the following on the attached sample: find and remove the number in A2 from the list in E2 then count the individual numbers seperated by commas in E2 and post the results in G2 Repeat the same sequence for C2, D2 and F2
I think this is a really easy question but I can't seem to think of an easy answer. I have 300 cells in one column I want to have combined into one cell, seperated by commas. I know I could just =A1&","&A2&","&... but this is not what I want to spend my afternoon doing. Is there a better way of doing this?
I need to have an input box, although I need to have multiple entries within the box seperated by a comma, and then the filter displays only the entries entered in from the input box.
I am trying to write a macro that will select and copy all cells in a row that do not have a zero value.
The data I am trying to select will be contained in 12 cells in a single row, i.e cells A1:L1 and all zero values will always be on the right hand side of the first non-zero value in this row (going left to right), for example:
Row: A B C D E F G H I J K L (1) 0 0 0 0 1 1 2 2 2 2 2 2
What I want to do here is to select and copy cells E1 to L1, since they are the cells with non-zero values. This can vary, so here there are 8 cells with non-zero values but the next time there might be only 5 cell or all 12 cells, etc. I have a lot of data to sort like this so doing this manually takes a lot of time.
Once the macro has selected and copied the right cells, I will manually paste the data where I need to put it.
The big problem I am having is knowing how to firstly select the appropiate cells.
I need to count the number of values entered into a single cell seperated by commas for record keepin purposes. I would prefer not to use a macro since I am not an expert, but will if i must. Here is an example of what i am talking about:
User A will enter "109,108,107,106" into a cell in Column A
At the bottom of column A the Total will read 4.
Now User B enters "110,111,112,113" into the next cell in Column A
How to have a validation list (drop-down) from a single-cell in which values are separated by a comma.
Example I have.
I have a wine list which have many categories of which
COL A / COL B / COL C Wine Name / Wine Producer / Vintage
I wrote a VBA code to look-up duplicates names and give the producers that make them. The names of the producers will be in an invis cell as Comma Separated Values.
For example: Wine 11 is made by producer X and Wine 11 is made by producer Y. I will have X,Y in a cell which need to be in a drop-down menu when Wine 11 is selected.
I got everything done. The only issue is to get the list. The problem is that the drop-down list shows X,Y as a single component and not as 2 drop-down components. If i were to write down X,Y in the validation list tab, it will show it as 2 components but referring to the cell doesn't.
I have a string of text in one cell on Sheet 1 (ie., A1, Sheet 1), here is a excerpt:
A-dec International Inc., A. Bellotti, A. DEPPELER S.A., etc ...
What I need to do is split the cell into separate rows, using the comma as a delimiter. I will be reading the cell from another sheet and need a formula that will provide me with
A1: A-dec International Inc. A2: A. Bellotti A3: A. DEPPELER S.A.
Is there a way to create a drop down list from a comma delimited list in a single cell? For example, col A is Name & Col B is the delimited list - Blue,Red,Green (list can be different for each name). Would like a drop down list in col C that allows you to pick one of the values from Col B.
Using =A7&","&B7 to add data from two columns into one, separated by a comma. What about multiple columns, still separated by a comma? See Example in attachment.
I have an excel file which contains 2 set of data. 1 with 14 rows and other with 20 rows. These are randomly distributed in the sheet and are abut 1000 of data set in a sheet with a combination of 14 and 20 row data set. Data is separated by blank rows, i.e. if it is 14 row data set it would have a blank after 14th row and similarly a blank after 20th row for a 20 row data set. Following the blank another data set starts which might be of 14 or 20 again. I have attached a sample sheet for reference.
I have a data set that I wish to look up the data from one column and if it is greater then 0 write it in another column separated by commas. Here is an example:
The data is dates that a service was provided and how many time that day it was done and not everyone gets the service on the same days. I would like to summarize the days of the month that service was provided not number of times into 1 cell.
A B C Row 1 November Row 2 1 5 15 Row 3 1 0 2 Row 4 0 1 3
November is in A3
If A2 is greater then 0 I want to write A1 A2 If A2 and A3 is greater then 0 I want to write A1 A2, A3 If A2 is 0 and B2 is greater then 0, I want to write A1 B2
I am using the following VBA to add all cell data into one cell separated by a comma, but I need a space after each comma and and do not know how to edit the VBA. How to add a space after each comma?
Function Combine(WorkRng As Range, Optional Sign As String = ",") As String 'Update 20130815 Dim Rng As Range Dim OutStr As String For Each Rng In WorkRng If Rng.Text "," Then OutStr = OutStr & Rng.Text & Sign End If Next Combine = Left(OutStr, Len(OutStr) - 1) End Function
i've put this previously on here with no results. There is a formula already in there though does not work because what I want to achieve is to have Column A & Column C to Match Column E & Column F, to Return the Value YES or NO. I’ve Highlighted in ROW 947 one that should Say NO yet Says YES.
We have approximately 100 rows x 200 columns of data and would like to combine the contents into one row. Is this possible without copying and pasting many times.
