I've managed to be able to create a macro to make a copy of a worksheet within excel.
However, when that copy is create all the macros are lost. If it is not possible to copy all the macros that are within the "Original Hours" sheet, I at least need a macro that will take people back to the original hours sheet (we have disabled sheet tabs, so need the macros to navigate through the worksheet).
Code used is below
Private Sub Hours_Click()
Sheets("Original hours").Copy After:=Sheets("Original hours")
ActiveSheet.Name = "Update hours"
ActiveSheet.Unprotect "PASSWORD"
With ActiveSheet.UsedRange
.Value = .Value
Sheets("Update hours").Select
End With
End Sub
I have a series of formulas in Row 1 across the columns in worksheet A. I would like to copy these formulas to a single column and down rows in worksheet B while retaining the references to worksheet A. I know that I can manually enter the references in worksheet B but that would take a long time to do.
When I copy/paste an Excel 2003 file containing macros into an email and send and open into another computer, the macros are gone. How can I ensure the macros go with the file?
I have a spreadsheet with a lot of financial information going down a column (about 500 rows down). Most of the cells are just typed in, but certain rows have sum formulas in them. Is it possible to copy values from another workbook, paste the values in, but somehow keep the formulas that are running through?
I have a piece of code that runs through various excel files and takes the data (minus the header) and pastes that into a separate workbook. The piece of code that does the actual copying i think is this (i have used code from the msdn website)
Code: With sourceRange Set destrange = destrange. _ Resize(.Rows.Count, .Columns.Count) End With destrange.Value = sourceRange.Value
I have tried replacing the sourceRange.Value with sourceRange.Text however when i do that it will copy nothing any more.
So i have sheet 1 with some cells locked and protected (but open to copying) as a template and sheet two will be where people paste one or more of the template formula on an ongoing basis. How do i mantain the locked and protected cells after they have been pasted? I have unlocked sheet two pasted the first template and had to choose protect cells after pasting, and further pasting of locked cells are not protected.
I have an Excel 2003 program that contains macros. One of the macros hides certain command bars and disables the worksheet menu bar. On close the opposite is true. The problem is, if a user uses the disable macros when opening then the worksheet menu bar and other command bars are still available. I would like to hide all of the data sheets and display another sheet that would normally be hidden displaying a message that the macros have to be enabled for the program to work correctly if disable macros is chosen. When the enable macros are used I would like the Error page to be hidden.
I have a spreadsheet that I can modify. It currently has a three product column but I need to insert 2 or 3 more columns to make 5 plus the total at the end. It also have a summary sheet. I insert the 2 columns and somehow got the formulas flowing. However when I hit the summary page its not showing results for those two new columns in the total. I am lost. I wish I could post the sheet. Its a multiple product break-even analysis exercise.
I maintain an excel application for a local theatre group using alot of vba actioned by buttons on worksheets. I regularly email the application back and forth between the treasurer and myself and I have noticed that the process of doing this often seems to result in the buttons losing their reference to the code I've assigned to them.
why this happens (is it a bug?) and how to make the linkage more robust? Can I link the buttons and code using vba so that I could establish all the links when the workbook is open?
You assisted me in writing a macro to move rows from one worksheet to another based on column criteria. I need a slight improvement to the code, ie it should only delete the rows after moving them if the rows are those that matched the criteria and not those that simply had blank cells for criteria after the rows moved are deleted.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim c As Range Dim count As Integer count = 0 If MsgBox("Are you sure you want to move rows to the archive ?", vbOKCancel, _ "Archive") = vbCancel Then Exit Sub On Error Goto catcher For Each c In Range("J1:J" & [sheet1].[a65536].End(xlUp).Row) If c = "yes" Or c = "good" Then count = count + 1......................
I have an Excel Worksheet (let's call it "AA.xlsm") which uses VBA code to loop through column A, update column B with some results/values, and then (for each value in column A) SaveAs the worksheet into a different filename/path as a ".csv" type file.
My line of code for the SaveAs is as follows: Workbooks("AA.xlsm").SaveAs LEpath & CurrFldr, FileFormat:=xlCSV
My problem is that my original worksheet, AA.xlsm, gets closed whereas I need it to stay open/active after each SaveAs iteration.
I Have a sheet called "Main" in Which I use a Doubleclick Private function. When the user Double clicks on a row, I want excel to take note of the row number that was clicked, then move to a different sheet and copy the row in the new sheet (Called "Data") with the same row number as the Target row that was Double Clicked.
Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean) If Target.Column = 4 Then Sheets("Data").Select Sheets("Data").Rows(Target).Copy Sheets(" Chart Data").Select Sheets("Chart Data").Rows("2:2").Paste End If End Sub
I know The (Target).Copy line is incorrect but I dont know what the correction is.
transferring data from a worksheet (Passdown Report) to another worksheet (Data Base) located in the same workbook. In the source worksheet (Passdown Report) there are 2 cells (B2 and D2) in which I would like the data to be transferred along with the data from B4 to AQ33. All the cells contain a formula which I want to stay after the information is transferred to the target worksheet (Data Base). This will be a daily transfer to the target worksheet (Data Base), so the macros should also identify the next available open row to transfer the data to.
I need help with a macro for copying and pasting of cells. I believe this should not be a problem for the Excel VBA experts, but for someone who can only record macro, I'm really at a loss.
Attached is a sample file, where sheet 'Source' is an example of the sheet from which data are to be copied. The other sheet, sheet 'Final' is an example of the final format that I need. The reason I'm doing this is I'm planning to upload my data into Access and so I need to convert them into a list format.
List of target columns in sheet 'Final' and source cells in sheet 'Source':
Column A: Biz ID - not sure if I really need this, by right it should be listed automatically once I paste the data Column B: B2 of 'Source' Column C: B2 of 'Source' Column D: B1 of 'Source' Column E: row 6, relevant column column F: column K column G: row 5, relevant column column H: the specific amount
So basically I'm creating an entry for every amount in the table.
There is an autofilter applied to worksheet A, I would like to transfer only the autofiltered range from worksheet A to worksheet B, a clear worksheet B statement would also help.
I am working on a project that has 5 worksheets. I have been able to figure out everything else I need to do but this has me stumped. I have data in Sheet1 A6, that i want to place in Sheet2 A6, Sheet3 A6, Sheet4 A6 and Sheet5 A6 and keep data and formatting(BOLD AND UNDERLINE). So I change Sheet1 A6 and the other 4 sheets change also. I'm using Microsoft Excel 2007.
I have question about next worksheet, let say I have VB code that’s Run on sheet1, but Sheet2 to Sheet 7 al so needs after sheet1 finished, same format on at sheets.
I need to protect the attached to stop people deleting the formulas. The problem is that there are hidden macros and when i protect the cells the conventional way they stop working and i lose all the data in the IAS sheet. I have highlighted all the cells in yellow that i want to be able to change once protected.
At this stage I would just like some one to explain how to protect it. Ideally I want to do it normally (unlock the cells individually that I want to remain unprotected, then protect the whole sheet). If its not then presumably its a macro alteration that's needed?? don't do it at this stage as depending on how it will be protected will mean that i need to make a few adjustments.
I've been reading about usage of worksheet functions in macros, and I guess I'm still not getting it. What I want to do, is use Countif and Indirect worksheet functions in a macro but it always fails. Here is my formula
IF(Worksheetfunction.Countif(Worksheetfunction.INDIRECT("[DaysWorking.xls]'Collect No Stats'!$A:$A"),'2009'!Range("D" & x))>0)
Basically, I want to see if 2 different cells in 2 different workbooks match and then I would use the information to write different info in another cell. X is just a variable in a DO WHILE LOOP. Can these functions be used in a macro? Is there an alternative?
It's simple enough to delete all macros. I have a form that starts as a landing area for a bunch of data then it gets renamed. I want to delete both of my command buttons from the sheet and remove all of my macros. How am I going to pull this off, how can i save it to the sheet the first time?
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean) 'cut command buttons ActiveSheet.Shapes("CommandButton1").Select Selection.Cut ActiveSheet.Shapes("CommandButton2").Select Selection.Cut
I have a worksheet "OPEN", and would like to apply both:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Dim rng As Range Dim i As Long Set rng = Target.Parent.Range("B:B") If Target.Count > 1 Then Exit Sub
[Code] .........
The first removes the rows if the validated column 'B' is equal to "closed", to a second worksheet "CLOSED". The second orders the rows by the same column, followed by column 'A'. Being brand new to macros, I've no clue how to make this happen...
I have a website that I have been posting filtered worksheets of specific formats of items for interested viewers to view. The Looker can click on the Button and Open or Save a Copy of the Worksheet. I hide unused rows and columns to reduce size.
I filter my main worksheet to find the item type that I want to isolate - I copy the Result to another file - Run a Macro to Remove the information that I dont want to show. Hide Unused rows and Columns. Save as my File name and Upload to the Website.
BUT -- In my Excel Workbooks I have Macros - Some in the personal file. Some attached to Specific Files. When the Viewer clicks to see the file -- it offers the Macros ( Enable or Disable ). This Scares off many viewers and they Cancel.
When I delete the macros and save -- it deletes the Macros from MY computer as well.
How can I remove Macros from only the Sheet that I want to post for my website.
Here is the URL of one of the Current Buttons to a posted file if you care to view and see what I mean and am attempting to do.
I have one worksheet from which i need to copy only few columns (Ex column A,B, D,G...need not be in sequence.....) to a new sheet.can you please help me to write a macro for this.In addition: Do we need to specify the number of rows in column or is there any way to get data till the end of column automatically.
Am a newbie in excel macros. pls i need assistance as to how to create a macro that searches a worksheet for a particular word. i wrote something like below but am having problems in it.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim word As TextFrame
If word Is Not Empty Then For word = "aaaaaaaaa" To "zzzzzzzzzz" ThisWorkbook.Worksheet.Find Next word End If
I have a formula which i need to paste into a worksheet, doing this is tedious and boring to say the least, problem is i am not sure how to get the macro to skip blank lines and only insert the formula where there are prices. Each week the worksheet changes so there is no consistent layout.
if you open a workbook & choose not to enable macros, is there any way to later change your mind & set macros to enabled without having to close & reopen the workbook?
I'm trying to avoid using macros in my workbook, however, I'm unable to get my worksheets to change name (based on a named range) without use of them, as follows.
I've written the macro:
Sub MyMacro() ActiveSheet.Name = Range("MyRange") End Sub
and then dropped the following into the worksheet Private Sub Worksheet_Activate() Run "MyMacro" End Sub
This works fine, but I'm trying to avoid using macros. When I try to place the following script in the worksheet private code, nothing happens:
Private Sub Worksheet_Activate() ActiveSheet.Name = Range("MyRange") End Sub
