Appropriate Template/worksheet Needed For Keeping Track Of Turnover

Jan 5, 2009

I'm trying to find a simple Excel template to add my sales invoices together for a year...just so I know what I've earnt...nothing complicated.

The Columns I need are;

date - invoice no. - customer - labour - materials - total

I'd like it to add together labour and materials to the total box ( or just labour in the total box if no materials for that job.)

Then each invoice adding up as I add more with subtotal of labour and materials then a grand total.

Keeping Track Of Payments

Apr 24, 2009

i am a builder and i want to make a spread sheet to keep track of what i have been paid and the labour costs i have paid out

so i am working on 20 houses that all have 7 stages of payment each, and 5 to 8 men working on them who receive a price for each stage, but are paid a portion of that price each week while they are working on that stage

what i am trying to do is set up a sheet to keep track of what has been paid and the balance remaining for each stage and what has been received

i have tried doing it a few different ways but im none to clever with spread sheets and what is causing me the problem is next to each payment made i need to put the date and the name of the person who was paid so it always seems to just look a cluttered mess

have any of you got any ideas of how i could simplify this and make it look neat and easy

or alternatively is there some other software that may suit this application better?

Say, for example, I have a spreadsheet as follows:

0 1 1 2 3 2 0 1 2
1 2 1 2 3 3 1 0 1

Is there a way to count the number of times a specific number shows up and have excel post it to a different cell? I need to know how many times a certain number came up for a specific row, and how many times.

VBA Functions - Multiple Inputs And Keeping Track Of Them

Sep 17, 2013

I have several formulas that I use over and over, so I'm creating VBA functions that I can call from a worksheet.

But...when I have multiple inputs going into a function, is there a way to remind the user which input comes next in the same way that Excel does with built-in functions?

For example, when you type in =PMT( Excel brings up the helper text so you know that the order of inputs is (rate, nper, pv, etc....

Is there a way to bring up that same helper text in my own function? So if I have up, down, right, left as inputs and give the spreadsheet to someone else, they can see it's up, down, right left and not right, left, up, down .

Keeping Track Of Scores And Automatically Displays Names Of Players In Descending Order?

Feb 7, 2012

I'm fairly new to using excel and have been trying to create a simple spreadsheet that keeps track of scores and automatically displays the names of the players in descending order. Anyway I have gotten to the point of using hookup to match a value and return that players name. But when two players have the same score it will only return the first found value. I sort the number scores using a LARGE function and it works great. Then I use something like this =HLOOKUP(Y2,B27:K28,2,FALSE) to match that value with the players name. How to return the other players name when the scores are the same?

Keeping Track Of Data Over Time Even If The Data Is No Longer Visible?

May 20, 2013

I work in a medical facility, and I need to track data I've entered representing patient visits indefinitely over time. I've attached a weekly grid to this thread that I use to record which patients have had visits during the course of the week. It sums their total visits on the right. I need to continually track these because every patient gets an insurance-mandated progress update after 10 visits. Unfortunately, they don't always show up, and the most I can possibly keep track of is two weeks, max, and most patients only get two visits per week. Is there a way to dump these sums into another column indefinitely?

Display Needed Info On Different Worksheet

Sep 29, 2009

The worksheet perfectly performs as expected, big thanks to JBeaucaire again. Now, as am looking around of the file and doing some exploration on the array, as I was trying to make this applicable to real life application, I noticed the following mysteries...

1. When I tried to delete some rows, The Members Sheet output went wrong and displaying #N/A. I noticed it's because the formula range have change. But it would be hard for a new user to re-arrange it over and over again everytime when a row is deleted.

2. I've been trying to solve this problem to no avail. I found this link that gives me an idea how my worksheet should work, this was already solved but I can't apply it on my worksheet...

http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...nd-resort.html

3. I would like to add another column on A to put the 0 and 1 on, but I don't need to delete this column after the resort so that next time if I need to delete another row existing row i'll just replace the existing 0 with 1 on column A.

Track Changes On Another Worksheet

Aug 6, 2007

I have a list of items that I keep track of when they were last used.

For example:
Item# Last Used
Item#1 8/27/06
Item#2 5/2/07
Item#3 6/30/07

What I would like to do is when I enter a date, it automatically tracks the changes so that I can not only see the most current date but all previous dates if I need to.

The ideal would be to transfer it to another worksheet so that is looks like the original except that is shows multiple dates after it instead of just the most recent.

For example:
Item#1 5/3/05 7/23/06 8/27/06

Worksheet To Track Inventory

Apr 12, 2008

I'm trying to make a worksheet to track inventory, not for sales but for tracking how many supplies are on hand in storage rooms, closets, etc. The worksheet will be used by as many as 20 different users probably on a network.

Because it will be used by many people, I'm trying to see if there is a way that the worksheet can be updated after every save. In particular, the amount that are "on hand".

For example, say there are 10 of a particular item on hand to start. Joe takes 2 and goes to record it on the worksheet. He inputs the 2 he takes, which now show that there are 8 on hand remaining. He saves the worksheet. Then, Jerry comes and takes 2 and goes to record it on the worksheet.

I can't figure out how, or if it's possible, to have the worksheet show Jerry that there are 8 on hand to start, not 10. So that when he takes his 2, it should show that there are now 6 on hand remaining. I've attached an example worksheet.

Keeping Macros When Copying A Worksheet

Mar 12, 2012

I've managed to be able to create a macro to make a copy of a worksheet within excel.

However, when that copy is create all the macros are lost. If it is not possible to copy all the macros that are within the "Original Hours" sheet, I at least need a macro that will take people back to the original hours sheet (we have disabled sheet tabs, so need the macros to navigate through the worksheet).

Code used is below

Private Sub Hours_Click()
Sheets("Original hours").Copy After:=Sheets("Original hours")
ActiveSheet.Name = "Update hours"
ActiveSheet.Unprotect "PASSWORD"
With ActiveSheet.UsedRange
.Value = .Value
Sheets("Update hours").Select

Keeping Linkage Intact Between Vba Code To Worksheet Buttons?

I maintain an excel application for a local theatre group using alot of vba actioned by buttons on worksheets. I regularly email the application back and forth between the treasurer and myself and I have noticed that the process of doing this often seems to result in the buttons losing their reference to the code I've assigned to them.

why this happens (is it a bug?) and how to make the linkage more robust? Can I link the buttons and code using vba so that I could establish all the links when the workbook is open?

Copy Certain Cells To New Worksheet That Keeps Track Of Previous Entries

Dec 4, 2012

I'm trying to copy certain cells to a new worksheet that keeps a track of previous entries via date and name and location.

The code works somewhat, however the values are not pasted into the respective worksheet. I'll try to explain the code as I see it.

Sub Button2_Click()

So the first section Activates the sheet that data is entered
Sheets("Checks").Select
Sheets("Checks").Activate
ActiveSheet.Unprotect ("fizix")

If the value ST is found in the sheet, the code knows to paste values to another worksheet known as ST_Hist

[Code] ........

Here I have another macro that then deletes the data in the selected ranges denoted by "" or ":", this part of the code works, however I dont have my pasted values in the appropriate sheet!!

Sub ClearAll()

Sheets("Checks").Select
Sheets("Checks").Activate
ActiveSheet.Unprotect ("fizix")

Sheets("Checks").Range("C2:C4").ClearContents

[Code] ........

Worksheet Change Event To Track Changes On Separate Sheet

Problem is if the user pastes more than one column of data into the sheet it copies the row more than once depending on the amount of columns the user pasted . I only want to copy the row once.

Sheets("Tracking").Select
ActiveSheet.Cells(Rows.Count, 31).End(xlUp).Offset(1, -13).Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 13).Value = ActiveWorkbook.UserStatus
Sheets("Engine 1").Select
Next cell
Application.CutCopyMode = False

Stock Turnover

Question
Is there a formula that calculates my desired result which is row 5? I tried creating a formula in row 6 but it fails.

What I am trying to calculate is in week, if I have inventory then how many weeks does it cover?

For Instance, Week 1 I have inventory of $39,120 which covers until 4 weeks and then calculate total of wk1 to 4 and subtract it from inventory value 39,120.

The resultant from this calculation is divided by week 5 and expected production in order to derive the proportion covered in week 5

Create New Worksheet Containing Buttons, Not By Template

Jun 18, 2008

I'm trying to create a macro that creates new worksheets with buttons on them that have macros attached. I've been able to produce one worksheet with a button and macro, but when the function that copies the code is looped it crashes out of Excel.

I realise that the usual method of doing this would be by templates, but this code will be run on other people's computers so the template wouldn’t exist in the location that i had specified (I think with my limited experience with VBA - Please correct me if I'm wrong). I've also tried to copy the page with the button on, but this takes too long (even with screenupdating = false) as there are many sheets to be created.

This is a stripped down version of the code that I have created for the purpose of this forum. To recap, the function that creates a new page, with button, with macro attached works. It's when it's looped that it crashes out. I've stepped through the program, and it reaches the second message box, then it gives up on life ..........

Vba To Copy A Template Worksheet To New Workbook

Mar 18, 2007

I have created a template with a Worksheet called "Certificate".

There is a userform that is opened on Auto_Open of this template and
allows a file name and some other parameters to be input.

On pressing the OK button on this form, I want to do the following.

1. Create a new XLS workbook with the file name entered on the form
(this includes the full Windows folder address).

2. Copy the Certificate workbook from the template across to this new
file.

3. Close the original template (maybe closing needs to be done at the
end??) and make the "Certifcate" worksheet in the new workbook the
active worksheet.

4. Using the parameters entered on the userform, change the details in
"Certificate" (this code is already written but not set up for the new
workbook - currently it updates the template "Certificate" worksheet)

5. Save the new excel workbook with the changes.

Example: Workbook Template - Sheet1 - Cell A1 = Value
Workbook Template - Sheet2 - Cell A1 = Sheet1!$A$1

Daily Worksheet Macro - Make Copy Of Template For Each Day Of Month?

Dec 22, 2011

We have a workbook that we create each month that has one worksheet per day of the month, labeled 12_01_2011, 12_02_2011, 12_13_2011...etc. The pages are an empty template with formulas and fields in place that we simply copy and paste the results of an SQL query into. Presently, we are copying the page manually several times over, and then manually renaming the pages with the new dates for the upcoming month.

So, here is my question. Macro that I might use that would:

1) Make a copy of the template for each day of the month.

2) Label each page in sequence with the dates for the upcoming month.
