Keeping Links Between Cells From Changing

In spreadsheet 1 I have a bunch of data, no formulas or anything, but data I need. I created spreadsheet 2 to take parts of S1 and have set links to cells in S1 so that when the data there is changed S2 gets updated automatically for me.
My problem is that when I add or delete rows or columns to S1 it's messing up my links in S2, not showing the right data. Issue with my linking that will tie the cells together when rows or columns are added or deleted.

my spreadsheet I have a column(7.65462E+11) it's a upc code.I can format the column to read as a number (value) but when I save it I does not save the number format.It's really interesting that there are some rows that read exactly the same and those rows keep the number formatting.Going nuts.Also when I try to save a date format(2013-mm-dd) It won't save,I've read that it's system default in U.S,is there a way around that ?

I have two spreadsheets that are linked in Excel 2007. They both hold very different information about the same projects, so each row shares some information. However, they are both very large and I do not want to combine them in case the whole spreadsheet becomes unusable. I'm not allowed to use a database
When I save Spreadsheet 1 in a different location, so that I have a backup of the precious data, the link in Spreadsheet 2 changes to show that new location. I want the link to stay at the old location.
Is there a way to stop the link changing when I use SaveAs, so that when I open Spreadsheet 2 it refers to the original location of Spreadsheet 1?

I have two columns, the left of which consists of merged cells. I got the document in this format, but to work with it, I need to unmerge the cells in the left column - simple enough.
However, when I do so, only the top cell in the group contains any actual data. What I get is this:
Age
18-20
21-25
26-30
And I would like it to look this way:
Age
18-20
Age
21-25
Age
26-30
Is there a simple way to get this result automatically when unmerging the cells? And if not, what is the fastest solution to avoid tons of manual copying?

What I'm trying to do is link a cell to give me the sum of 2 different cells located in 2 different tables I created.
So I want to have Cell B5 look for the number in cell B3 in the Table that starts in column Q1 and give me the corresponding number in the same row in the column R1
then lookup the number in cell B1 in the Table that starts in column T1 and match it with the number in Column U1 that corresponds to it in the same row
and Finally give me the sum of both corresponding numbers.
IE.. the number in B3 is found in Q13 which uses the number it corresponds to in R13. The takes B1 finds it in T16 and uses the number it corresponds to in U16.
Then returns the sum of R13 and X16 into B5. (B5 should show 176)

So i have sheet 1 with some cells locked and protected (but open to copying) as a template and sheet two will be where people paste one or more of the template formula on an ongoing basis. How do i mantain the locked and protected cells after they have been pasted? I have unlocked sheet two pasted the first template and had to choose protect cells after pasting, and further pasting of locked cells are not protected.

I am trying to rank a series of data. I have most of this figured out. However, the data that is being ranked is based on a sum of a range of cells. I have lines that are waiting for new information to be put in related to the values to be ranked and the value is reference a sum of blank cells currently since there is no data there and it is showing up as zero and therefore being ranked number 1 in my list. I basically want the ranking to rank the values 1-11 while putting all values that are zero to be put at the bottom of the ranking. Any way to do this without macros. I have been using the VLOOKUP and RANK functions for my ranking purposes.
I have tried using an if statement that made the cells #N/A if they were zero, however they remained at the top of my ranking.

Is it possible to keep ending zeros in cells that are formatted for Text or General?
I have a column with numbers like the following: 264400
I need to format this number for three decimals so it will look like the following: 264.400
I need the column to be formatted for either Text or General. Currency breaks a system.

I do not want to clear the cells on the following conditions:

I have a spreadsheet filled with formulas that depend on a value being entered into A2, A3, A4, etc... So column A starting at A2 is where I will manually input a number and the formulas I have in columns B, C, and D will import information from another sheet based off what is put in column A. In column D the formula I have to import data
is =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2,Master!C:M,11,0),"").
This will import another number. Additionally in column D, I have conditional formatting that will return a red, yellow or green light based off the rule I have in place. Everything works fine, the only problem is that column D has a green light all the way down even without a value being placed in column A. I would like to find out a way to keep the cells in column D blank until a value is entered in column A. Also, if I go back and delete the value in column A, I would like the corresponding cell in column D to go back to blank as well.

The issue I'm having is once of the cells (D17) has multiple lines in it, created by using Alt + Enter; and this formatting doesn't appear in the html body of the email.

With that said, I want to put the row number of a user in (I have a few thousand on this spreadsheet, and all the = data be automatically pulled based on the row number I put in cell B1. So I'm hoping to write in cell B1 the following - "143" (without the quotes), and the remaining cells in column B automatically pull that data based on that, so it would look like the following

How do I write the functions to keep the columns the same, but change the row number based on the number I input?

I am trying to use Excel to document fiber optic cables that run between different locations. Each cable has 2 ends, but whatever service is connected to one end, will also be a the other. I would like to use an Excel worksheet to represent a termination point (a "light shelf" comprised of several fiber optic cables each made up of several strands of fiber (kind of a table with the 1st 4 columns of 6 rows being cable A, and the next 8 cable B)). I would like to be able to type in the value for cable A Strand 1 and have it linked to another worksheet representing a different location (the other end) and vice versa. I have tried to paste a link, but that seems to get broken. Is there a better way to make permanent links (Excel is bawking about a circular reference, which it is as each end needs to be linked back to the other.

I have cells (range named Formulas) in a worksheet A (wsA) linking to another workbook. This workbook has several sheets, each a different forecast. From a Radio Button Group on wsA I would like to choose forecast, FC1-FC3, and then all the cells in the range Formulas would be updated with the choosen FC.
I would like a VBA script to handle this:When the workbook is activated the present Forecast in the Radio Button Group should be stored as a variable (oldFC)When I choose a new forecast, the value should be stored in a new variable (newFC)I then want to loop through the whole range (Formulas) and update each cell and it's part of string value to the newFC
Before update:
wsA cell N3='H:[5500-plan-06.xls]FC 3'!N$16
wsA cell N4='H:[5500-plan-06.xls]FC 3'!N$17
When new Forecast is choosen this should be update to:

I have a list of links in 1 excel worksheet. They are spaced every other row if it makes a difference. I need to create a macro that clicks on every link automatically. Range A1:D6 is linked to an external source file which I am changing every now and then.
A1 has the formula:
=[Book8.xls]Sheet1!A1*1
Copied all the way to D6.
[Book8.xls]Sheet1!A1:D6 presently has all values 1 hence the formatting in Book7 is all red.
Now I an changing source file to Book9.xls (thru EDIT menu->LINKS). [Book9.xls]Sheet1!A1:D6 has all values 10. But when I change external source to Book9.xls, the right formatting did not apply. All are still red (instead of blue). I still need to go in one of the cell and press F2 and F9 to trigger calculation.
How do I change the code in order to recognise the calculation in order to trigger the codes in the event?

What my code needs to do: It needs to verify data in column rows say for this example columns A to C and infinite rows. It needs to verify the data in this order A1, B1, C1, A2, B2, C3 etc. (One of the part I have problems to do) It also needs to add to a row/cell "1" when certain conditions. (In the same line as the last checked data in the column "D" say for exemple last data that was checked is "A3" well the 1 must be written in "D3". The conditions are simple the first Data the macro encounters must be higher than 0.25 and all following data must be higher than 6, whenever the next data is lower than 6 or empty add 1 to the corresponding D row and restart at the 0.25 cell "checking".

I have a question concerning highlighted cells. If I am using highlighted cells to show different headings and sections of a model, how could I change the color of a particular header and apply to all of them at once?
I.e. I have a header that is blue and sub headings that are yellow. I have this for 100 different tables. Is there a quick way to say, find cells similar to my blue header, and apply changes to all of them? I'd prefer not to ctrl + click each header to change the color.
