Dec 11, 2007I have a Textbox in Sheet1 where there is some text or anything. I want to link this content to another textbox or cell in Sheet2.
How to do it? Is it possible to do without macros?

If I select it and go to the formula bar and write =A1 the content of cell A1 will be displayed in the rectangle (and of course if i change the content of A1 cell, the content of the rectangle/textbox will be updated). How can I do this from a VBA macro? How can I link the content of a rectangle/textbox to a cell?

May 28, 2008I want to use a Login screen for a little "request-program" I made. Logging in works and when I log in as an administrator, an extra window pops up where I can add and remove new users (with pass). Users (column A) and passwords (column B) are located in a 'logins'-tab in my worksheet. Adding a new username works fine, but I don't seem to get the password next to the username. When adding a new name, the code searches for a blank cell in column A, adds the name and then sort the rows (so username and password still correspond). Usernames are filled out in a combobox (so you can select one to delete) and passwords in a textbox.

Dec 21, 2007I am creating a user interface for inputing info into a sales order, and then printing the sales forms already pre-filled based on the user's input. SO, I need the user to be able to type text into a textbox that is in a multipage control that is in a userform, and then have it automatically populate a specific cell in my workbook. Seems like this should be relatively simple, but I am just getting started with vba and can't seem to figure this out.

May 13, 2013I am using Excel 2010. I am creating a flowchart which will require formulas. Unfortunately the flowchart connectors work best with text boxes rather than the cells. To make this method work, data will be entered into the text-boxes and will be calculated into other text boxes. Basically I need the data I enter into a text box to automatically fill itself into a cell in the background. I know there may be other ways to do this whilst not using text boxes at all, but I will not be using them.
I can fill a text-box from a cell by using F2 on the textbox and then typing =A1 etc, but I am having a hard time going the other way - getting a cell to fill from the value in the text box.

This current data and all userform selections are then to be written to a row in a separate worksheet. I have not been able to properly reference the current data; My (rookie) approach intended to set the ControlSource properties of a TextBox to the desired current data.

example:
"textbox.setfocus" sets the focus onto the textbox without highlighting its content
what i need is:
"textbox.ur suggestion" sets the focus onto the textbox & highlight its content, this way i will no longer have to clear the text using the backspace key to write another text

I am into inventory of items and I have created a userform and placed a combobox (as dropdown list for me to choose the products) and a text box for my qty input. Creating Email From Userform - Body Contain Content From Textbox
Jul 9, 2014I am working on a code which works, however, its is not working entirely as i intended. In this example, the body of the email should contain content from textbox.
I have 3 text boxes, not all are expected to be filled out. So if only textbox1 is filled out, the body should only include information derived from textbox1.
Whats happening now is that even if textboxes 2 and 3 arent filled out, the body of email produces blank formulas from textboxes 2 and 3. So how do i fix this code so that if I enter data into textbox1 only, the body of email will not include empty formulas? Ive also attached a copy of the Produced email file. Code in question is in red font

Automatically Size Textbox Vertically Depending On Content
Sep 13, 2005Is there a way to control the vertical size of a textbox, so that we could type in a List of Instructions to our operator, and the textbox would resize depending on the numbers of instructions in the box. Also the items in the cells beneath the textbox would need to move down, to allow for the resized textbox.

Apr 18, 2014Formula/macro/etc that would enable me to have content of a cell changed based on the content of another cell in the same row.
Example: cell in column D says "PSA" - so I would need the cell in column H for that same row to read "Radio"
I would need an entire sheet scanned to review for these occurrences and make the appropriate changes. I also would need the formula to be inclusive enough to scan for variations in column D cell content (PSA 1, PSA 2, etc).

Jun 28, 2013I have two worksheets, one with detail monthly information and one with YTD information. So let's say the three numbers I want to capture in the YTD sheet are in columns B, G and I on the monthly sheet. January's data might be in B5, G5 and I5. February's data is in B12, G12 and I12 and so on.
On the YTD sheet in cell C2 I link to Monthly!B5 and in C3 I link to Monthly!B12 so cells C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet show the monthly totals from column B on the detail sheet. On the YTD sheet, cells C20 to C31 show the monthly totals from column G on the monthly sheet, so cells G5, G12, etc. And finally, cells C40 to C51 on the YTD sheet show monthly totals form column I on the monthly sheet.
In the past I've always created all these links manually. After creating the links in C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet, is there a way to use a formula in C21 that uses the link in C2 to create a link for G5?

After the document has been closed down I try to open it again and I am told "The file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents."
When I click details it says "Unspecified error" and "Location: Part: /word/document.xml, Line: 2, Column: 0"
If I click ok it says "Word found unreadable content in "". Do you want to recover the contents of this document? If you turst the source of this document, click Yes.
Clicking Yes opens the document with all the contents and it is now renamed to Document 1. If I click no it does not open.

May 18, 2006I am attempting to format some TextBoxes from within a For/Next loop. I need a way to check which TextBox is the active TextBox in the loop. Using i as the variable, I came up with this code snippet: Me.Controls("TB" & i).Text = Format("TB" & i, "mm/dd/yy")
If i = 3, this gives me in TextBox3 (which is called TB3) the text 'TB3' and not the value of what is in TB3. It has got to bo something simple, I just can't see it!!!

Assuming I have 2 individual excel files and an index excel file (in reality, there are more than hundreds of file). For index excel, once the user enter part number (eg. 1 or 2), the excel will look for the part number excel file and determine vlookup function.
The only problem I have here is I can not make the index file automatically add the part number shown on most left column into the required formula (replace the part number file section).
I tried use the indirect function but this require each file to be opened, which is not possible for actual use. I am looking for a function that can work in closed worksheet.
