Lookup Query - Occurrences: Create Another Worksheet With The Months Of The Years Listed Down Column

Oct 16, 2008

I have a table that lists the months of the year down from cell A2:A13, and days of the week along row from cell B1:H1. The data in between (cell B2:H13) is pulled through from elsewhere in the workbook and is in number format.

What I basically want to do is create another worksheet with the months of the years listed down column A, and in column B, for each month, I want the first day of the week where the value in the original table is more than zero, and in column C the second day of the week where the value is more than zero. I really hope that makes sense, was quite difficult to explain!

LOOKUP / MATCH Function To Lookup The Owner Name Typed In Cell

Jan 2, 2009

I have a workbook with 2 different types of sheet - 1 containing source data and the others 'collecting' data from the source sheet, depending on what the sheet is for.

For example, the data source contains different pets, their names, ages and their owners.

The other sheets are on a one-per-owner basis.

What I would like to do is use a LOOKUP / MATCH function to lookup the owner name typed in cell A1 of the output sheet and match it with the corresponding owner name(s) on the source sheet. I would then like it to return with each pet and append the results on the sheet accordingly - like below:

John Smith (in cell A1)

Pet - Name - Age
-------------------
Dog - Rover - 3
Goldfish - Tom - 1
Gerbil - Chewit - 4

Nested IF Function For Months Exceeds 7 Levels

Mar 21, 2008

I had more than 7 nested if statements so I attempted to formulate the named ranged formula. My 2 ranges are as follows: LDD1=IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(F2),C5-F5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(G2),C5-G5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(H2),C5-H5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(I2),C5-I5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(J2),C5-J5,IF(MONTH(P1)-MONTH(K2),C5-K5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(L2),C5-L5))))))) LDD2=IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(L2),C5-L5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(M2),C5-M5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(N2),C5-N5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(O2),C5-O5,IF(MONTH(P1)=MONTH(P2),C5-P5,IF(MONTH(P1)-MONTH(Q2),C5-Q5))))))

Basically what it's doing is comparing the current month with the month in the column heading and calculating appropriately. However, when i input the if statement (=if(LDD1,LDD1,LDD2), i get an error saying that it's an inconsistent formula and the result that it gives is wrong, too. Problem cell is e5

How To Build Countifs Function With Varying Weekdays In Different Months

Aug 13, 2013

I have a file with 3 sheets with Sales data. First sheet is for capturing Sales data, second sheet, with some Weekly Analysis and Monthly Analysis using COUNTIFS, third is charts based on second sheet's formulas.

When I use COUNTIFS function to capture the monthly sales nos, the working days in different months vary from each, obviously. Some months have 20 days, some with 21 days, some with 22/23 days. How to write a correct code for varying working days, because I have to capture only the working days in a month, and in THAT MONTH only, leaving all Sat days and Sun days?

My formula goes like this in cell E3 and I have attached my sample file as well.

=COUNTIFS(Master!$B$2:$B$5000,">="&$D$2-30,Master!$B$2:$B$5000,
"<="&$D$2,Master!$C$2:$C$5000,"="&$D3)

eg: If I want to measure Monthly Sales performance for a salesman, Date of Sales Performance measure will be done on the last WorkingDay/WeekDay of that month, in the month Sep-2013, Performance will be taken on 30-Sep-2013, till the 21 weekdays backwards. i.e. 02-Sep-2013. In the month of Aug or Feb the no of weekdays differs.

IF Function Inform If Person Worked Over 6 Months In 2008

Feb 1, 2009

I have attached a worksheet that shows the last and first name of an employee along with their hire date and term date, if termed. What I am looking for is a function that will tell me if a person was active as of 12/31/08 which will read true on the side of their name under active; I also need a function that will tell me if a person worked over 6 months in 2008.

The first person John Doe was hired in 2005 and has a true on the side of his name which meant that he was active as of 12/31/08 but as you can see Jane Doe has true on the side of her hire date and false on the side of her term date and I don't want it to read the first true but the last true of someones name, but Jane Doe qualifies for working over 6 months even though she started in 2007.

Excel 2010 :: Find Months And Days Between Today And Another Date That Is Result Of Function?

Apr 25, 2014

I'm in Excel 2010, and the cell with the date I want to work from is H22.

I'm trying to get the difference of the (date+12 months)-TODAY() to appear in months and days.

Here's the latest thing I tried (that doesn't work):

=IF(DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"y")>=1,DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"y")&" yrs, "&DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"ym")&" mths,
"&DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"md")&" days",IF(DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"ym")>=1,DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"ym")&" mths, "&DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"md")&" days",DATEDIF(H22,TODAY(),"md")&" days"))

I should also probably note that the date in H22 is the result of another function.

=EDATE(G22,12)

2 AAA1638
3 BBB7325

=lookup(max(C2:C5),C2:C5,A2:A5)
=lookup(max(D2:D5),D2:D5,A2:A5)
=lookup(max(E2:E5),E2:E5,A2:A5)

Lookup Function Or Something

Coke
Volvic
Mars Bar
Cornflakes
Bags Maltesers

The 2nd worksheet has 3 columns with the following info
Column 1 Column 2 Column3
(Catagory) (sub Cat) (Sub Sub Cat)
Minerals Soft Drinks 2lts
Minerals Water 1lts
Sweets Choc Bars Std Bars
Sweets Bagged Lines Std Bags
Grocery Breakfast Cereals

I want to be able to add a classification to the products in worksheet 1. For example to be able to choose a dropdown that has a list of each classification
and after coke select from the "Catagory) drop down, then select the "Sub Cat" drop down and then select the "SubSub Cat" dropdown.

Product Catagory Sub Catagory SubSub Catagory
Coke Minerals Soft Drinks 2lts
Mars Sweets Choc Bars Std Bars

As I said I have to do this manually for about 5000 items so I need to be able to do this as fast as I can. Can you use the lookup fuctions or something like that?

Set A Range To Use In A Lookup Function

Apr 10, 2007

I'm trying to set a range to use in a Lookup function but it's not working. I've done this other times with no trouble and I don't see why it's not working now.

If Target.Row > 2 And Target.Count > 1 Then
For Each c In selection

If c.Column = 11 Then
' confirm that Activity ID is in the Reference file list
Set Lookup_Vector1 = Worksheets(c.Worksheet.Name).Range("Activity_ID")
Error occurs on the Set Lookup_Vector1 line, Run-time error '1004': Application-defined or object-defined error.

The range Activity_ID is defined in the current worksheet but exists in another workbook. The c.Worksheet.Name correctly gives the name of the worksheet where the range is defined.
