Lookup Manufacturing Details Depending On Product Type

Dec 15, 2009

I have created a drop down list of products that we manufacture on a tab in excel. I want to use this list so we can create production/manufacturing paperwork that can be used in our factory.

On other tabs I have created the manufacturing specifications which are a list of specifications and cutting sizes that vary depending on the 1st column /size selected. The rest of the data for follows across.

However for the three products the manufacturing specifications are different so what I want to know is can I create a formula that says if I select product A then look at product A's specification tab, if I select product B select product B's specification tab or if I choose product C then look at product C's specification tab?

I can create a vlookup formula that works for one product and drops the necessary information into a sheet I have designed but I don't know to get it to distinguish the correct cutting info depending on the product type selected.

Dynamic Named Range For The Product Name On The Product Details Sheet

Dec 24, 2008

I'm working on a order spreadsheet system, and I have one sheet called Product Details, where the product name, list price and product code are found, these link to the Sales order page, and I need them so that they can be added to.

So far, I have created a dynamic named range for the Product name on the Product details sheet, and linked the the range via a list validation on the Sales order sheet.

The drop down list displays the products and can be added to by typing new product names on the other sheet.

What I need now is that when a product on the sales order page is selected, it draws the the list price and product code data automatically from the sheet, I tried using a normal vlookup, but I couldn't get it to work. I also need the list price and product code columns to be 'dynamic' so new values can be added further along.

Transactions Over A Month Broken Down To Each Product Type

Apr 27, 2009

I have a set of sales data which shows the dates of transactions and also the product type that was sold. I want to see the monthly sales for each product type. I can get a total for all product types over the months using the following:

=COUNTIF(Licences!E2:E9999, "<39600")-COUNTIF(Licences!E2:E9999,"<39569")

36900 = Jun-08
39569 = May-08

But I need it to also break it down for product a, b, c so I need something else to add to the formula?

Lookup Details For Multiple Chosen List Items

Sep 5, 2007

I was wondering if there was a way to create a pop-up list to appear when a user selects a certain cell that would provide the user with a list of (in this particular case) inventory items. The user would select which items they require for the task at hand and the total $$cost of the items would appear in the cell once is is deselected.

Multiple Product Order Form With Price Lookup

Feb 26, 2009

On an order form the customer will be able to enter the width and projection of several products that they want to order. The way these products are priced are in a Matrix of Width over projection. The current system i have designed is:

1. The pricing Matrix's have all been put into one big table and given a unique id per product matrix.
2. An advanced filter has then been run and and it extracts the appropriate matrix and copies it onto the process sheet.
3. An Index/Match formula is used to find the price for the inputted width and projection. It does this by finding the intersect point of the width and projection on the table.

Currently this will be put into a macro and assigned to a button.

The problem is that up to 15 (or possibly more) products need to be able to be ordered in one order form. With the current system it means there will be a lot of Advanced Filters and there will be a macro button that will need to be clicked after every product order (and they're could be 15 or more). Obviously this isn't very professional, it is time consuming and must be the hard way of doing it.

I was wondering what over systems that could be used for this sort of thing. The more solutions there are to this problem the better. Attached is the file. If you do post a solution it would be preferred if you could also post a file with a working example in. I find it much easier to learn the solution if i can see it working.

Manufacturing To Retail Cost Calculator

Jun 15, 2009

I am trying to make an EASY Manufacturing Cost to Retail pricing calculator. This calculator would have ability to include cost of goods, labor, markup etc of components manufactured and sold as retail products, example: small bookshelves versus large bookshelves or cabinets all have different materials (wood types, stain etc) in determining the final retail product costs that would reflect time of labor hours involved in producing to determine final retail costs. Should be simple in Excel 2000 (my version). I have the basic template created and have used Data Validation Drop Down Lists and utilized LOOKUP function. While my knowledge is limited in Excel, I am frustrated as how the LOOKUP function works, I can only get it to work where in the formula, the costs per unit are input manually, whereas I would prefer to have the data input automatically from columns of calculated wholesale cost plus markup per square foot data, ie: =lookup(A1, X1:X30, Y1:Y30) but get errors when doing this. Instead this works: =lookup(A1,{"pine", "oak", "birch"},{"3.99","7.87","5.15"}) and using this cell (A1) in my calculations for including the square foot costs in the final retail calculations. While this seems to work, it is not easily modifiable as costs change rapidly and would like to easily input the cost per square foot of the different woods in their own cells rather than in the formula calculation of the lookup. Hope that makes sense..... any suggestions? perhaps lookup is not the best function for what I am attempting? - sample file is attached, light green are notes of where my data is located.

Conditional PRODUCT Function Formula (return The Product Of A List Of Numbers In A Column)

Sep 30, 2009

I am trying to use a PRODUCT formula to return the product of a list of numbers in a column, between 2 specified dates. The spreadsheet is arranged as follows:

Column BA list of dates
Column C & DNumerical data not used in any calculations
Column EThe numbers to multiply together
Cell A1Start date to be used in the PRODUCTformula
Cell A2End date to be used in the PRODUCT formula

The formula I have to multiply the data in column E, subject to the start and end dates in Column A is:

{=PRODUCT(IF(B15:B1000>A1,IF(B15:B1000<=A2,INDEX(B15:E1000,0,4))))}

This returns zero though works appropriately if I replace “PRODUCT” with a “SUM”.

If Statement (2 Conditions): Cardboard Manufacturing Plant In The Q.A Department

Jan 29, 2007

I work at a cardboard manufacturing plant in the Q.A Department. Occasionally paper claims need to be raised due to the paper being faulty (out of spec.). I have attached a spreadsheet which at present works out the paper cost according to which paper grade is typed into a particular columb. But, paper price varies according to the width (i.e. Deckle) of the paper as well. And this is the variable which I have not been able to implement thus far.

The relevant columbs are 'D', 'E' & 'I' for the purposes of this formula... It should be noted that below this I have pasted in the paper pricing list... and that in general each paper grade has 3 different prices depending on the Deckle (i.e. paper width), so there are 3 possible prices which can be displayed depending on the Deckle inputted into columb 'E'.

Next to this value in column B of tab End I'd like the same name listed again but with the number 1, then 2, then 3, etc. as needed and the extension .jpg.

Index / Match Lookup With Two Columns - Runtime Type 13 Error

Feb 14, 2014

I am building a timeclock, and am using a user form to allow people to sign in/out.

I have a punch in form that logs the inputed username and password (after being checked against my employee list), along with a count of their username on this sheet (as a count of how many times they have punched in) and a timestamp (column 4). These values are all pasted to the first blank row in my worksheet "PunchInTimes".

Then, I have a punch out button that logs these same values the same way, only on "PunchOutTimes". Then, the idea is to link the index number of the PunchOutTimes record and PunchInTimes record for any given user, so that when they punch out, a complete record is pasted (to the first blank row) in a separate worksheet called "Timesheets".

I have been able to paste the username and count to the "Timesheets" sheet, however as soon as I try to index/match the count and inputed username (on the punch out form), I get an error 13 type mismatch.

I'm trying to paste the corresponding punch in time to this punch out time, so ive used an index/match with two columns (username and count) found in "PunchInTimes", and try to return the corresponding 4th column value (punch in time). After pasting the "punch out only" values to the PunchOutTimes, i used a "With/End With" statement, and set wsc equal to my 'timesheets' worksheet at the beginning of my code. So the line where I get my error is below in bold:
