I run the company office pool / lottery. A person selects 6 numbers 1-49. Twice a week the provincial draw is held. if your number matches the drawn number i would highlight your number on the spreadsheet. When all of your numbers are highlighted, you win. This usually takes 3-4 draws to cover all your numbers. Ideally i would like to simply enter the drawn numbers & have excel automatically highlight the number next to each persons name if they have selected that number.
I have 49 lottery numbers split in 3 segment and 5 groups separated by coma In cell Range from B2:F4,
I enter 5 numbers from draw result in to cells B9:F9
What I want to highlight the ticket numbers that have been drawn a in lottery, In this example the ticket numbers are in cells B2:F4, and the drawn numbers are entered in cells B9:F9
Example is below A B C D E G1G2G3G4G5Seg12, 5, 6, 8, 915, 1921, 25, 2637, 38, 4042, 45, 48Seg23, 4, 711, 13, 1827, 3047, 50Seg31, 1012, 14, 16, 17, 2022, 23, 24, 28, 2931, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 3941, 43, 44, 46, 49Lottery Result Below:57142049
I am organizing a golf scoreboard for my golf tournaments. Basically, this is what I want to do:
I would like to rank the players that are entered by their score, in ascending order. Basically, I want to take the column for "total strokes" and organize the numbers so that it will rank the numbers that are entered. If there are no numbers entered in a specific row, I don't want that "zero" to be ranked in the list. So for example, if I have five golfers but they are spread out over 10 rows, I would still need to have five numbers in the rank: 1,2,3,4, and 5, not 1 to 10, as if it were ranking the rows that have nothing entered in them.
I am trying to create a simple dash board using only Excel and no VBA. What I am trying to do is I want to create dependent drop downs and link up drops downs that will pull out the required data individually or with combination of those two. For example, let's say
A column has Dates of transaction,
B column has Item name
C column has Units
D column has Month name
E column has Shifts (Morning or Evening)
I am trying to make a dash board that will pull total Sum of individual items based on
Only Date wise Datewise + shift wise Month wise monthwise + shift wise
I managed to create drop down list for dates, months, and shifts but i dont know the way how to link the individual drop down lists together to pull the data based on the selection. which function i should use here and how?
i would like to write vba to fill a "chess Board" Matrix (8X8) With Powers Of 2... starting with 2^0 and ending with 2^63... (i suppose, click a button/icon and have the numbers fill in/populate...)
I am trying to create a form in excel that simulates a chess board, the code was quite extensive so I better separate it into modules, because the program suddenly began to close, how do I do that? being that I have all the pieces of a chess game and some strings and boolean variables with information on the positions of the pieces on the form?
VB: Private Sub A1_Click() If Turn_Player1 = True Then If Active = "Pawn_pr1" Then If Loc_Pawn_pr1 = "A2" Then
Basically it would be a simple race. Containing 4 counters (blue, green, red and Yellow) and 10 squares each.
There would be 40 cards 10 blue, 10 green, 10 red and 10 yellow. Cards would be draw randomly and the counters move respectively. I would be thinking about starting with =RANDBETWEEN(1,10).
I have no knowledge of VBA/ macro but would welcome ideas with what formulas/ commands to use.
I have added some snapshots to show what I would be looking for.
I'm making a custom BINGO board in Excel 2010 for a family reunion, so it doesn't contain numbers; instead it has words (like "has brown eyes" or "served in the military"). the first sheet is the board and looks like a traditional BINGO board with the same number rows and columns with a center FREE space. On the second sheet is the list of all the phrases I'm going to use, one phrase per cell, all in Column A.
In BINGO cells, I want it to use one item (phrase) in each box but NOT repeat within the board. I have the following code in each cell and it works EXCEPT, there is no code telling it to make each cell unique, so sometimes it may repeat.
Tracking winning lottery numbers using conditional formating on a worksheet.CF only allows 3 formats I need 10 is there a way around this.In cell B2 I choose Conditional Formatting from the Format menu.I select Formula is from the drop down menu, and enter the formula =COUNTIF($N$2:$S$2,B2)>0 Then I hit OK.I then click on the Painter button on the toolbar and apply this formatting to the rest of the lotto numbers.I can do this 2 other times but i need it to work 10 more times,if there is no way around this, is this formula possible in VBA and how do I enter it.
I am setting up a spreadsheet with two columns. The first column will contain a persons name the second column will contain four numbers.
Name Numbers Joe 1,3,12,24 John 4,12,23,24 Jill 6,14,19,26
I need to be able to search to find the following: the correct sequence of numbers e.g. if 1,3,12,24 were pulled out then that search is easy. If I was looking for someone who had the numbers 1,12,24 then I have a problem. I was thinking about putting the four numbers in to four separate columns but my Excel knowledge is poor.
I have a list of 10 of my favorite/lucky numbers that I want to play in the lottery. The lottery picks 5 numbers total. I need a way to show me all the possible combinations of my 10 numbers picked in a 5 number draw (hope that makes sense). There are no repeat combinations- for example- I DO NOT WANT 1-2-3-4-5 and 5-4-3-2-1 to come up as separate combinations- so each of my favorite #s needs to be used only once in each combination, and each set used once.
I have searched this board for 2 hours now- read tons of other posts, but not finding a real solution. The output will be a list of all the possible combinations (no repeats, and no permutations) using my 10 favorite numbers. Another example- 1-2-3-4-5 1-2-3-4-6 1-2-3-4-7 1-2-3-4-8 1-2-3-4-9 1-2-3-5-6 1-2-3-5-7 and so on.
How do I create this? I realize the resulting table will be quite a large number of combinations- but we're going to have fun with it and pick a few at random.
You must install "Analysis TookPak-VBA" before doing this; check in your Excel's Tools/Add-Ins menu. Paste this long function (see below) in an Excel's worksheet (any cell) and press F9 (calculate) until you see at least 2 identical numbers. Real life's lottery does not have repeating numbers. I can disable this repetition by using cells relation but I want to use just one (1) cell. Any expert wants to challenge? If not, you can use VBA. But it still requires one (1) line of codes.
I am working on a cricket score board in Mircorsoft Excel. This is my first question. When I solve this, I will go ahead.
In the sport of cricket, an over is a set of six consecutive balls bowled in succession. An over is normally bowled by a single bowler.
An over is made up of six balls, each ball counts for 1/6 of an over for the purposes of calculating the net run rate, despite being normally written in cricket's notation as .1 of an over. if a bowler balls 6 consecutive balls. it is called an over and writting in cricket's notation as 1 over.
My question is that Team A played their two matches. In first match, Team A played 47.4 overs and in second match Team A played 49.5 overs. The total number of overs in two matches Team A Played 47.4 + 49.5 = 96.9. But in cricket sport we will sum up it like this 47.4 + 49.5 = 97.3. I mean that Team A played 47 overs and 4 balls in their first match and in the second match they played 49 overs and 5 balls.
I have a column of cells with values - 0.2%, 0.32%, 0.22, 0.5 etc. The cells with % symbol are in ' Percentage, 2 decimal' format while the plain numbers are in 'General' format i.e. column contains cells in either of these formats. I need a macro where I can specify the column and it will select the cells with the % format, convert it to 'General' and multiply the result by 100 eg. 0.2% converted to 'General' becomes 0.002. When multiplied by 100, result is 0.2 i.e. is displayed without the % symbol.
One of the reports I run provides me information on lengths of time. Such a field displays as |0:09:16| indicating 9 minutes and 16 seconds. However, when the report generates the excel spreadsheet it saves these cells in date/time format ([h]:mm:ss). If I were to convert this field to the number format (so I can manipulate and graph it) it displays as such |0.00643460648148148| Ideally I would be able to have the data in the field stored as |556| (556 seconds, or 9 minutes 16 seconds). I have thousands of fields that I need to manipulate where the data is stored in this format and I can not figure out how to fix it.
How can I format cells to contain Minutes, Seconds and Hundredths of seconds to be used in calculations eg 1.24.99 means 1 minute and 24.99 seconds. Example calculation is: 1.24.99 - 1.24.90 =0.0.09
I need to format some climatic data from a weather station into a desired format. There are a lot of cut&paste and transposing involved. I think it will be easy but tedious for anyone trained in VB to write a macro but unfortunately I am not. I've tried recording a macro but it turns out that it is not general enough to deal with all the spreadsheets that I've got.
I've attached a spreadsheet which shows the original format (in sheet 1) and the desired format (in sheet 2). To briefly describe, I only need the temperature data for 8am and 2pm, the rest of the information in sheet 1 is useless to me.
I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet where the default number format keeps switching to the date format. I keep switching it back and it'll stay as a number format for a time, but then it'll switch back. This is also the case for any new worksheets in that one spreadsheet.
This only happens with this one file - everything else behaves according to my regional settings or to how the file had been previously formatted.
I have a Sheet ( Named "Summary" for Example ) of about 4,000 Rows that has a LOT of Conditional Formatting.
I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.
Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.
I have a forecast which is sorted by product code by week vertically. I need to create a lookup to re-format this information into a horizontal format by week. I have started this by transposing the information as my attachment shows but I am hoping there is a lookup formula which will be easier and quicker. I have attached the actual document and the data I want to sort is Sheet 2. I have started in Sheet 1. I want to look up the code in column A, then lookup the week number which would be B2 in Sheet 1 and return the value of that Code in that week from Sheet 1.
I would like to have a single button that changes a range of cells from the USD to EURO to perhaps CAD symbol. Can this operation be performed, such that if I start in dollars, and I click the button once, it shifts by range to EURO (not formulas...just symbol)...and then if I click the same button again, it goes to CAD, and then back to USD with a third click?
