MACRO For CUT & PASTE From Cell X To Y

Feb 6, 2014

I am trying to write a macro for CUT & PASTE from one column to another.

The data is always in cell 'I', and should be transfered to cell 'F' (CUT & PASTE).

However, not all the cells in column 'I' are populated, therefore it is required to skip the empty cells.

Paste A Macro Into A Cell

Aug 9, 2007

I am trying to do a paste special of this code from Paul into a specific cell so that when the conditions are met the cell will update automatically. The code works great, I just have to manually run it.

I have tried to copy all of it as it stands here then use the paste special, paste only values; but it pastes the text in the cell and adjacent cells. I have done this before successfully with simple formulas, not actual code. The cell is clean where I want to paste this also, no strange formatting or anything like that.

I have this great code but can not use it….

Sub test()
If Range("B13") <= Date Then
Range("E13").Copy
Range("F13").PasteSpecial Paste:=xlValues
Application.CutCopyMode = False
End If
End Sub

Macro To Find Value In Cell And Copy / Paste To Other Cell

Dec 11, 2013

I have the following code, so far:

Code:

Sub CopyPasteValue()
Dim ARow
Dim AColumn
Dim BRow
Dim BColumn
Dim Value
AColumn = 1

[Code]....

What I want it to do is to start in cell B1 and look down until it finds a non-blank cell; copy the contents of that cell. I then need it to go to the same row Col A and go down from until it finds the first non-blank cell then paste into the corresponding cell in Col B. It should continue this way through the rest of the worksheet. There is no set pattern to say to go down 5 rows or such. Also the number of pastes in each step is variable from 1 to ??

In my worksheet, the first non-blank cell in Col B is cell B3 and the first non-blank cell in Col A is A7. The paste should occur in cells B7:B10 because the next non-blank cell in Col A is A11.

Macro To Search, Copy Then Paste Cell

Jul 10, 2009

I am trying to write a macro that is able to take a "Part ID" from a column on Sheet "Temp", search sheet "Parts" for that "Part ID" in Column A, copy the corresponding description (listed in next column B) and paste that description into a third sheet "Sheet1" Column D. I would then need to repeat for all lines in sheet "temp"

I could most likely use an IF statement to do the search, but I was hoping to use excel's search function to make it quicker as there are over 1000 parts. For example:

Dim partID = String

Selection.Find(What:= partID, After:=ActiveCell, LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt _
:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:= _
False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate

What I am getting stuck on is once the search finds my text in Column A of Parts, how to copy the Description in Column B into Column D of "Sheet 1". A sample file is attached. The output in Column D of "Sheet 1" should say in this example:

Circle
Square
Circle
Rectangle

Paste Special And Assigning Macro To Cell

I have written the code below. And I found two problems:

1.The code stopped to work when I change from Paste to PasteSpecial.

Sub Copyfriction()
Dim DestWB As Workbook: Set DestWB = ActiveWorkbook
Dim DestWS As Worksheet: Set DestWS = ActiveSheet
Dim DestCLL As Range: Set DestCLL = ActiveCell
Dim UserChoice
UserChoice = Application.GetOpenFilename(FileFilter:="Text Files (*.xls),*.xls")

[Code] ........

2.As you see the right cell on the the destination sheet need to be selected. So Im planing to run the macro when double clicking the cell in question. I have tried the next

Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)
If Target.Address = "$A$6" Then

Macro To Find / Copy And Paste To Cell

Jul 26, 2013

I want to find data from a certain point and paste this to a cell. My objective is to get all the data on too one row. This row is always 1 in col M called Run#. The find locations never change, just the data being copied always changes . Heres example,

In col K find FHBASC and look across to the right 3 cells in col N and copy.
Look in col M and find 1, paste above copied data into col GI.

Then move down rows to next FHBASC and repeat process until end of sheet.

If I can get a very basic simple macro to do this, then hopefully I can just re write to suit my other data.

Macro / VBA To Copy And Paste If Cell Is Changed?

Dec 18, 2013

- A database sheet called 'QAEQUIP' which contains information on the movements of pieces of equipment. This information in in order of Column A which is a movements reference number.

- A reporting sheet called 'Email sheet', which you put in a month and year and using macros it copy and pastes the relevant rows from the database and puts them in date order (e.g. put in October 2013 and it will show all of the equipment moves that happened in October 2013, and in date order).

What my end user would like, is to be able to add text to an extra column on the reporting page which gets fed into the database on the corresponding row. What would the best way to do this be? I was thinking VBA for each row (there aren't that many rows) that says if this cell is changed, copy and paste the cell into the corresponding row / column on 'QAEQUIP'.

Modify Macro To Paste Results To Last Empty Cell

Feb 21, 2014

I have this macro and at the present time, can only compare two worksheets. One of my worksheets contains column headers with data, the other worksheet just contains column headers. The macro will match the data against the column header and paste below. I'm doing it this way because I have several tables I export from a MySQL database, but some of them have more fields than others so I was trying to get all of the data to line up in under the correct column header from each table. I need editing the macro to allow for

1) More than one worksheet to be analyzed at a time
2) If the first request is not possible, I would like for the macro to paste results at the next empty cell. As of now, it will only copy one at a time (which requires me to house the data in another worksheet everytime I run the macro).

Below is the code:

Dim ws1 As Worksheet, ws2 As Worksheet
Dim HeaderCells As Range, Hdr As Range, hdrFIND As Range

Application.ScreenUpdating = False 'speed things up
Set ws1 = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("HEADERS") 'Define name of worksheets
Set ws2 = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("B")

Paste Multiline Value Into Single Cell As Part Of Macro?

So when I try to do it now, it pastes into the selected cell and the cells below it (one for each line of the pasted value). When I'm pasting manually, I avoid this by pressing F2 to edit the cell first, and then pasting. But how can I do this using a macro? Is there a type of paste command that will insert the multiline value from the clipboard into the selected cell?

Is It Possible For A User To Select A File And Cell To Paste In During A Macro

Sep 3, 2008

I was planning to do was have a macro where the document opened and the cell that information was pasted in was decided depending on which cell was selected when the macro was run.

This worked fine, but it does mean that it needs someone who can edit the VBscript every time there is a new starter or someone leaves so isn't really viable.

What I was wondering, is if it is possible for me to start a macro, which then drags in the information I need from a text file, does all the calculations and rearranging, and then brings up a prompt for the user to open the document they want to paste it in, click on the cell where the pasting will start, and then the macro continues from there?

To try to explain it in as clear a way as I can. Say we have three managers, Alan, Brenda and Charlie. In Alan's team there are 10 staff members. Aaron, Bill etc.etc. If we have just run the report for Aaron, the macro will run, automatically drag all the information in and rearrange it, then it will pause while the user opens up the "Alan" spreadsheet, they select the "Aaron" first cell, click OK or something, and then the macro continues on its happy way?

Macro - Find Text And Copy / Paste Cell Below - Loop In Row

I want the macro to find all deliveries with "A1" date, and paste all products that will be delivered on this day under cell A1 (sheet delivery). then move on to the cell B1 (sheet delivery) - find all orders in sheet orders, that will be delivered on B1 date, and list all products with this delivery date under cell B1 (sheet delivery).

Example:

Sheet order
A
B
C

Date of delivery
Product

Create Macro That Can Copy / Paste Or Cut / Paste Rows Into Different Spreadsheet

Oct 1, 2012

I have one workbook that needs two macros.

On the "Complete Backlog" tab of my workbook, I want users to enter in the requested information based on the column header. Then I would like a Macro attached to a button that says "Refresh" that the user would click after they have entered in all of the information. This macro should look in Column M (WIP Status) and if any of the cells say "Close", it should Cut the entire row from the spreadsheet(Ex. A2:M2) and Paste it into the speadsheet titled "Closed Jobs".

This is so that as jobs are closed/finished, they are removed and stored on a separate sheet. The items would have to be pasted so that it pastes into the next available row - not just on top of each other.

I also need another macro that i can put into a button that doesn't "delete" a row from the sheet, but just copies over to another sheet - so that there are two instances in the workbook.

If would look something like: If a cell in "Column G / Director" of the "Complete Backlog" speadsheet is equal to "Snodgress" then copy columns A-L of the same row to the spreadsheet titled "Snodgress" - of course skipping down the rows to the next blank row.

.....is equal to "Herr" copy row to "Herr" spreadsheet.
....is equal to "McCormick" copy row to "McCormick" spreadsheet.
and so on.
