Macro Doesn't Recognize Date Format
May 9, 2014
I'm trying to make a macro to replace dates with a certain value with blanks, but it dosn't seem to work.
Here's my code:
Sub Datetoblank()
'
' Datetoblank Macro
'
'
Cells.Replace What:="2014-05-08 15:09:25", Replacement:="", LookAt:= _
xlWhole, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=True, SearchFormat:=False, _
ReplaceFormat:=False
End Sub

I have the following formula with multiple if statements:
IF(N2>0,N2,IF(O2>0,O2,IF(P2>0,P2,IF(Q2>0,Q2,IF(R2>0,R2,IF(S2>0,S2,IF(T2>0,T2)))))))
This formula refers to cells in columns N,O,P,Q,R,S and T. Every cell in columns N,O,P,Q,R,S and T also contains formulas (VLOOKUPs).
My if statement works fine but when it checks cells in column P, for some reason, it doesn’t recognize cells with non-zero values. I can’t figure out why this is happening and how to fix this problem.

For this project i need to analyze clusters of data. My first step is to remove all none duplicates.
I have created this formula =COUNTIF(N:N,N1)=1, this goes all the way down to =COUNTIF(N:N,N5443)=1. My plan is to remove all rows that return a "True" to delete all non-duplicates.
I'm noticing, although 90% is recognized correctly, 10% is not. Some formulas return as true, when clearly there are duplicate values. The N Column is trimmed, to correct for spaces.
What the pitfalls with countif formulas usually are in this situation?
N Column
O Column
=COUNTIF(N:N,N5441)=1
Returns False
Trim(05441)

I have a spreadsheet that contains a list of names/numbers/dates and I have to manually go through the list each day highlighting the row if it contains a date that is more than 48 hours old. How to accomplish this in a macro? Example:
Name.......Phone Number:......Ticket Number......Date Added
xxxx........555-555-5555...........5555555............2/12/12
xxxx........444-444-4444...........4444444............2/15/12
xxxx........123-456-7890...........1234567............2/10/12
That is the layout of the spreadsheet so I would have to manually highlight rows 2 and 4 because the date in Column D is greater than 48 hours ago. The range is A1:D25 and the cells are changed/updated daily.

I am importing from another program into Excel. Anytime I have a time in a column with a 0 in the 2nd hour place it will not add that time in. Example (05:21:32)
A1 10:20:12
A2 05:12:15
A3 10:15:12
Total= 20:35:24
How can I get excel to recognize a time in this format with a zero (05:34:23)?

Every month, I have an import a report to a spreadsheet. At my column A, it supposed to be a date format.
For some reasons, I have a combination of a few cells of date format and a few cells of general format with no order at all.
What I need is: Search in the A column, if date format leave it , if not change from general to date format.

I have two columns where there are dates (e.g. 11/05/2009) in a date format; I would like to change the format to `general`; but without losing the original values, i.e. I still want to see 11/05/2009, but just in `general`format. Is it possible to create a macro that will do that? I want these values to stay in the same place, i.e. if it is in cell K10, I still want to have it there - just in other format.

I have a formula
=IF(I1239="","",IF(OR(H1239="Induction",H1239="One to One"),WEEKNUM(I1239)-WEEKNUM(K1239)+1,""))
Which works fine an counts the weeks from the input date I1239 from the initial start date K1239, however if the input date runs into next year 2014 the result ends up as a minus figure eg -47 instead of the next sequential figure which would be say 5 or 6

Over the weekend I had to look at 220 strings of numbers, some strings with as much as 20 numbers and determine if the numbers represented red, green, blue, or yellow and how many of each color from a parent list.
I did it all by hand. After getting help here from JBeaucaire on my tally sheet, which I successfully recreated with their guidance, I thought I might ask this question. How would one go about creating a macro that would when it seen a certain number, it would put the color in the column immediately to the left, and the number of colors in the column immediately to the left.

The code I have below is relevant to this spreadsheet Copy of Invoice test.xlsm
In the code below I marked the script that has issues in red. The code takes the last row and the last column and works from there. This works fine with single commands, however, when I take a cell (based off the last row and the last column) and try to give that cell multiple commands excel sends back an error. When I use this multiple command (see part of code that is marked in red) for a range that is not based off the last column it works fine.

I have an excel dataset and I have dates entered differently. For example they could be written as:
MM/DD/YY
MM/DD/YYYY
M/D/YY
M/D/YYYY
....
....
Ultimately what I am interested in doing is writing a macro (and saving it in its own file) that can be run on any excel spreadsheet that will change the dates to be formatted the same: MM/DD/YYYY
The issue is that a date written as 10/10/27 would need to be changed to 10/10/1927 (so adding the 19).

When I open a csv file directly ie file/open, all dates are formatted correctly.
When I open the file as part of a macro
Workbooks.Open Filename:="Y:DCPRODN_OEE_Extract.csv_D.csv"
the date format is corrupted for the 1st to the 9th of the month? See attachments, Note the format of the date should be day/month/year

I have a long (190,000) list of customer data, all in Column A (unfortunately with blank rows among it, but working now to fix that).
Down the column, individual customers are bookended by a "adf" and a "/adf". (these have open and close brackets like HTML code, but I cannot reproduce them in this forum).
For each customer, I need to find the rows that begin with (brackets spelled out since I do not know how to show them):
1. [open bracket] vehicle status
2. name part=3D"first"[close bracket]
3. [open bracket]name part=3D"last"[close bracket]
4. [open bracket]email[close bracket]
5.[open bracket]phone time=3D
6.[open bracket] name part=3D
And transpose only those rows it into columns.There is a dynamic number of rows for each customer, so there's no way to simply count and transpose, as the columns would all be mis-entered.Somehow it needs to recognize those 6 row items, and transpose those values only, with the and the only telltale of a start and finish of a specific customer.
EDIT: How about a macro to delete all rows except those that contain those partial values above?

In the attached sheet, one macro is developed which is not working properly. My req is to convert date from dd-mon-yyyy to yyyy/mm/dd format. (23-jan-2010--> 2010/01/23)
If incomplete date is there, then hyphen should place the gap i.e.
For date like APR-2014------> Output should be 2014/04/--
For date like 1998 -----> Output should be 1998/--/--
The below macro works only for row number 11, 15 and 16.

I'm exporting a csv file from a membership database with the attendance of members. With a macro i open the file and copy the contend to excel. With the macro the column for the date has *randomly* wrong formats. Example the date in column B:
Aasia Tallah19-03-2009 19:33
Aasia Tallah17/03/09 7:49 pm
Aasia Tallah15/03/09 7:53 pm
Aasia Tallah14/03/09 6:34 pm
Aasia Tallah03-12-2009 20:05
Aasia Tallah03-11-2009 19:56
Aasia Tallah03-10-2009 19:54
I try to change the format of the column, but that does not work. Rows 2,3 and 4 seem to be text but they are not. If i access the edit bar for example the 17th of march and store without changing anything, it changes to the format of the first row. That is how i want it. If i copy the column by hand, every thing is fine.
All of the following i tryed:
- format date column of the csv before copying... failed
- copy special with only pasting values... failed
- preformat the column i paste the date to... failed
- delete the sheet i paste to and create a new one... failed
- copy the macro to a new workbook... failed

I think there's a way to use Excel to automatically create a 5-day calendar. Maybe a macro?
The date format must be dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm and it must be in text format. If its June 9, 2012 at 6pm - the correct format is: 12/06/2012 18:00
I want to post 5 times a day: 09:05, 9:55, 10:45, 16:55 and 18:00.
Column A is where the date and time goes. Ideally, I'd enter in A1 the start date and then run a macro that would automatically populate the next 5 consecutive days with the specific times above (so 25 rows total in column A).
I have to save the file as a csv file, so the date and time format has to be in text or I'll get an upload error in Hootsuite.

I like to create "templates" for files that I work with on a reoccuring basis, just to make things simpler. The current template I am working on tracks items processed by day and is used for two reporting purposes; 1 totals the pay ending items processed so I have the dates laid out based on the 2 week period with formulas for that. The 2nd way it is reported is by the month. Since this is a template, only the first day of the first pay period for a calendar year needs to be entered and the rest of the dates populate based on that date. What I would now like to do is add columns for January - December monthly totals using a formula that will read something like "if column A (where the date is) contains 1/1/2014 - 1/31/2014, then sum up column L" and than copy that formula for the remaining months.

I've recorded a macro that copies an entire tab into a new spreadsheet then goes on the copy and paste information from one tab to another.
When I run the macro from the Tools>Macros menu it works perfectly.
But when I copy the code and add it to that of a button it fails and posts the following error: Run-time error '1001': Select method of Range class failed.
The first attachement shows the code for the macro as it is alone, and the second shows how I simply copied and pasted it into the 'view code' window of the button.
Needless to say I'm a beginner at macros and only every record them, I can usually make stuff work that way but this has me stumped!

I am having issues with a min if formula, even though i enter it as an array (ctrl +shift+enter), it only returns a zero.
The formula is supposed to return the earliest date from Raw data if the name of the company matches the one from the data validation ('Company lookup'!D3).
Dates are in column D and company name in column M
I checked, the dates are all formatted as dates
=MIN(IF(RAW!$M:$M,'Company lookup'!D3,RAW!$D:$D))

I have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?
