Macro For Message Box To Appear To Give User Some Information

Nov 25, 2011

In my workbook I have a form that loads some information to my database. When the information is entered and the form button is pressed I want a message box to appear to give the user some information. On that message box I want there to be a button that the user has to press before the message box disappears.

Formula: Give User Limited Control

Jan 26, 2010

1. The example is cell B1 has a drop down list with the following options: MIN, MAX, AVERAGE, MEAN, SUM

The range F2:F20 hold the values upon which I want the formula to work

Cell B3 is to calculate the result of performing the the function defined in B1 over the data set in F2:F20

What formula do I need in B1. I have tried various of methods of forming the above into a text string and then preceding with INDIRECT but my problem seems to be with the range part.

2. Same as above but I want to the users to write as text (without equal sign) the formula they want to use

Popup Message With Required Information

Dec 19, 2006

Im trying to come up with a popup message That informs the user that the quanity they entered is not divisible by 12. Here is what I got so far:

The Range("D" & Target.Row) = "6' PANELS WITH STANDS"( this is the item chosen by the user via a drop down)
Then they enter the quanity in Range("A" & Target.Row)

So if the item chosen in Column "D" is "6' PANELS WITH STANDS" and they enter the quanity in Column "A" and it is not divisible by 12 you would then get the message letting you know that.

User Log Error Message

Jun 10, 2006

I've got the below code which I use to log users who opens my spreadsheet. It's a Event so runs when the spreadsheet is open with macro enabled. The spreadsheet is on a shared drive which has the prefix "K". Most users it works find but one user gets a error Message "Path or Drive" error. I got around it by adding "on error" but how do you overcome issues with drive prefixs and the drive address e.g "K" vs "\CRD2000"

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Open ThisWorkbook.Path & "usage.log" For Append As #1
Print #1, Application.UserName, Now
Close #1

User Form To Put Information Into A Spreadsheet

Sep 10, 2008

I am trying to do is create and link and user form to put information into a spreadsheet. Layout of the form is done but I'm not sure how to link the cells. Also, there are some cells pre-filled that should show up on the form but I don't want the user to change those (columns a,b,c - guessing i will protect those).

Would be great if the user could navigate rows within the form so I included buttons for previous and next entries (this feature would be very similar to the built-in data form that excel provides). My sample spreadsheet is attached.

Validating User Input Via A Message Box

Mar 21, 2008

I want to inform my users via a message box if they have not entered the previous month's information. The months are populated via a User form using a combo box selection. The months start from April through to March and are entered into the worksheet range ("aa3").

Data is entered monthly by the team. I don't know how to begin with this. I've managed to inform them when they've already entered that months information, but I don't know where to begin with this.

Warning Message Needed For User Who (X) Out Of Certain Form

Oct 31, 2012

I am attempting to have a pop message display when users of a certain form "X" out of the form. Below is what I came up with but it does not seem to be working:

Code:
Private Sub IntroUpdate_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean)
Call MsgBox("User closed the program before any formulas were updated.", vbExclamation, ".: ALERT: FM Program Tabs :.")
End Sub

Currently the above is in the code section of the form (titled: IntroUpdate).

Also if the form unloads I do not want the message displayed - only in the event that a user "X" out of the specific form titled: IntroUpdate).

User Inputs Information Into Userform When Click Enter?

Mar 21, 2012

Say a user inputs information into the user form, when they click enter, it enters all the data on the next available line in a workbook.

Is is possible for the user to click a cell on a previously entered row, and have the userform populate with the existing information?

example.
say the user has to fill out 3 separate areas. 1, 2, 3. However the user only has data for 1 and 2. They go ahead and enter the infromation for 1 and 2 and click submit to transfer to sheet. Now later he gets information for area 3, can the row the information that he previously entered, lets say column 1, row 1, and it reopens the userform with the information for 1 and 2 prefilled from what he entered previously?

Prevent User Seeing Senstive Information In Hidden Rows/Columns

Aug 19, 2008

I have a feeling the answer to this will be 'no' based on the searching I've done, but is it possible to allow formatting of rows/columns on a protected worksheet, yet prevent the user from unhiding some rows/columns I don't want them to see? I've allowed them to format rows/columns so they can "size" them to fit the text they enter, but that has opened up the ability for them to unhide columns. Using Shrink To Fit would be cumbersome due to the number of cells involved.
