Combine Certain Tabs From Multiple Worksheets Into One Workbook

Jul 28, 2014

I have about 30 Excel files, each with multiple tabs. Each file has a tab called "Invoice." I would like to create one workbook with all 30 Invoice tabs. As of not I am manually copying and pasting, which takes a while. There has to be an easier way, and I found this VB script to combine entire workbooks.

Is there any way I can run this and get just that Invoice tab and not all tabs on all files?

Sub GetSheets()
Path = "C:UsersdtDesktopdt kte"
Filename = Dir(Path & "*.xls")
Do While Filename <> ""
Workbooks.Open Filename:=Path & Filename, ReadOnly:=True
For Each Sheet In ActiveWorkbook.Sheets
Sheet.Copy After:=ThisWorkbook.Sheets(1)
Next Sheet
Workbooks(Filename).Close
Filename = Dir()
Loop
End Sub

Macro Fixes Macro: Copies Tabs From The Spreadsheet

Jun 26, 2007

I am working on a macro that copies tabs from the spreadsheet the macro (button) is located in, creates a new book for them, and then pastes values so that no formulas still exist. The problem I am having is with named ranges. The named ranges do not reference the new sheet, but rather the old spreadsheet. This is fine because the new file is solely for presentation, however, one macro (which selects print ranges based on user selected checkboxes) tries to reference the old spreadsheet once it runs. I would like the macro that I currently have working, to also make this macro in the NEW spreadsheet so that it can still highlight the correct print area when used. The macro does not reference the name of the workbook at any point, it is purely "Range("ai10") type references so I don't understand why it is trying to open the old sheet back up.

To Combine Worksheet_Change Macro

Feb 27, 2008

I've been Google-ing for the last 45 minutes and tried to combine them myself, but I'm afraid of breaking it.

I believe the second code was taken from the MrExcel site, I don't remember.

CODE 1:

// Track Changes; updates any/all changed cells with a comment identifying the author, date and change that was made //

Option Explicit
Public preValue As Variant
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Count > 1 Then Exit Sub
Select Case Target.Column
Case Is = 2, 4, 6
Target.ClearComments
Target.AddComment.Text Text:="Previous Value was " & preValue & Chr(10) & "Revised "

CODE 2:

// Whenever a specific range of cells are updated, the adjacent cells update with a timestamp //

Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
With Target
If .Count > 1 Then Exit Sub
If Not Intersect(Range("F3:F1000"), .Cells) Is Nothing Then
Application.EnableEvents = False
With .Offset(0, 1)
.Value = Now
End With
End If

Apply Macro Between Tabs

Oct 3, 2009

I have a worksheet that I am always adding sheets to by duplicating an already existing tab. The tab ,"Current Invoice", is nested between sheets called "first" and "last". All duplicate sheets will also be nested between the "First" and "Last" tabs. What I would like to do is have a macro that affects all tabs between the "First" and "Last" only, even when the bookend tabs are hidden.

This is what I've started with.

HTML Sheets(Array("First", "Last")).Select
ActiveWindow.SmallScroll Down:=18
Range("U29:U190").Select
Selection.Copy
Range("AA29").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
Range("W29:W190").Select
Application.CutCopyMode = False
Selection.Copy
Range("AB29").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
End Sub

Macro To Generate New Tabs & Name Them

Jul 29, 2009

I have a spreadsheet with a table of data. Each row needs to have its data on a separate tab, so they can be presented in idividual reports. Each tab then needs to be given a name which corresponds to the values in the column A from the spreadsheet.

I can generate a new tab with the following:

Sheets.Add After:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Sheets("Sheet1").Name = ""

But I have a few issues with this... Firstly, the number of new tabs required will change, so it needs to replicate the formula for the number of entries in the reference table. Secondly, this relies on the new sheet being "sheet1" which I'm not happy with in case someone accidently creates a sheet 1 by hitting the new tab button. I then don't know how to give each one a separate name based on column A from the reference sheet.

Macro To Combine Several Cells Into One Cell

Jun 8, 2014

Creating a macro that is a combination of other cell values. the cell order is listed below:

C57 = contains a unique number that will change from time to time eg. 1234
H57 = 1 (this will always be the value of 1)
N57 = contains text eg. AUDUSD
V57 = contains text eg. BS
AB57 = contains a number eg. 1.8954
AH57 = 0 (this will always be the value of 0)
AN57 = contains a number eg. 0.01
AS57 = contains a number eg. 1.7954
AZ57 = contains a number eg. 1.9954
BH57 = conatins either 1 or 0 eg. 1

the cell needs to contain the above examples like this :
BT57 =OpenPosition(1234,1,"AUDUSD","BS",1.8954/0,0,0.01,1.7954,1.9954,1)

This will be needed for a total of 14 rows (57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71, 73, 75, 77, 79, 81, 83)

The cell with the results cannot have any cell references contained in the end results and must be formatted as above so that the add in program can read and pass on the information.

Creating A Macro To Combine Workbooks?

Jul 19, 2012

I found one macro here: see below (this is the start of the macro) yet either I'm not using it correctly or there are errors in it as when I run it I get an error that says Run-time error '9' Subscript out of range and gives me the option to debug it. When I choose to debug it opens up the macro and has the following section highlighted?

'Date: 9/15/2009 (2007 compatible) (updated 4/29/2011)
'Summary: Merge files in a specific folder into one master sheet (stacked)

Macro For Multiple Tabs From A Data Set

I'm not very good with macros and I need to create a macro that copies data from one excel worksheet into multiple other worksheet tabs in the same workbook. I have 8 columns and thousands of rows of data. The spreadsheet is sorted by column E.

In column E, there are about 25 different values going down throughout the spreadsheet. I would like the data for each of these Column E categories to be copied over to a new tab in the spreadsheet with the tab name as the value in E. So in the end there would be the main tab, and then 25 new tabs with the filtered data. Does anyone already have a macro that will do this?
