Macro To Copy Formatting / Formulas To New Blank Row
Apr 22, 2014
I am looking for a macro that will copy the row above it, to include formatting and formulas, however not the actual contents. I need the row that's being copied to be hidden from view, which is where the problem stems from. The macro is also copying the 'Hide' formatting and I want to exclude that. This is the current macro I am using:

How would you copy a row's formatting and formulas but not value. for example: A1 1 B1 =a1+2
I would like the copied row to be: A2 (blank) B2 =A2+2

If the user inserts a row, I want all formatting/formulas/data validation from the row above to be inherited in the newly inserted row. I want this to occur on sheet1.
When you insert a new row, although the entire new row is selected, the active cell is the cell in column A. So I figured I could base a routine off of the active cell. Here is what I tried:
[Code] .....
I am trying to reference a range. The first cell in the range is above the active cell. The second cell in the Range is above, the active cell, then to the right of the range, then down one. By referring to this Range, I am then trying to use the FillDown method. This code isn't doing anything.
Also, I need Excel to automatically run this code when the user inserts a new cell on sheet1. Would I need an event handler or just put this code inside of the Sheet1 code window?

Lets say I have a block of cells (lets say A1:E5) that all reference the value in the upper left hand cell (A1). Could be a formula by itself or one embedded within a conditional format. I reproduced the formula and formats in the A1:E5 block by using the absolute cell reference $A$1.
I now want to reproduce that entire block (including the referenced cell A1) multiple times on the sheet, but the catch is that each new block must reference the cell in IT'S OWN upper left hand corner. (e.g. a block located at F10:J15 must use as it's reference F10, not A1).
How can I quickly reproduce those blocks? I have done a search and replace to eliminate the $ symbols within the formulas to make them relative, but that doesn't seem to work within conditional formats.
The issue right now is I am trying to apply conditional formats to a sheet I already constructed. I don't want to overight the formulas in the UL corner, so I am trying to copy and paste the conditional formatting only. Can't seem to figure out how.

I am looking for some VBA programming that will allow me to use 1 button to consolidate rows (delete them). The problem I am running into is that the rows I want to delete have formulas in them so I can use "find all blank cells & delete" type of macro.
Capture.PNGCapture1.PNG
Attached are a couple of brief images on a small scale what I am looking to do.
I want a user to be able to have this sporadic list of choices, consolidate them so the are all one right after each other, then export to a word file for editing later on.

Is it possible to record a macro or write VBA to apply conditional formatting to certain columns of cells where there are exceptions/conditions for the different types of conditional formatting? If possible, can those exceptions/conditions be based on a specific type of formula?
See my DATA EXAMPLE picture linked below. On that example, Columns K-Q need conditional formatting but manager wants row 38 to be blue based on the fact that it is using a =SUM() formula. This represents one "part" out of 75 that could be on a given sheet, each "part" has a different number of sub-parts that are used. So I can't just highlight columns K-Q because of the occasional SUM row that needs to be blue.
The conditional formatting that I am currently using in Columns K-Q only apply to K3:Q37 and not to row 38 at all. I currently have conditional formatting on columns K-N, P-Q where when '=ISNUMBER(xx)' returns TRUE is white and when it returns FALSE is light orange. Column O uses '=ISTEXT(xx)' for the same colors. Manager doesn't want to copy paste that formatting and wants it setup as a Macro/VBA.
DATA EXAMPLE - [URL]
RELEVANT INFORMATION
Columns K-Q need conditional formattingColumn K - Formula pasted in only on lines that require the Sales Price to show, will return a number value or error
(=VLOOKUP(B38,'SaleWS'!C:G,5,0).Column L - Formula pasted in every cell in column except L38 is '=IF(Hxx="G",IF(Exx"Description EX",VLOOKUP($Dxx&$Gxx,'PriceWS'!$D:$F,3,0),""),"")'.
L38 has a sum of all above valuesColumn M - Formula pasted in every cell in column except M38 is '=IF(ISNUMBER(Lxx),Ixx*Lxx,"")'.
M38 has a sum of all above valuesColumn N - Formula pasted in every cell in column except N38 is '=IF(Exx="Description EX",VLOOKUP(Dxx,'Material'!A:O,15,0),"")'.
N38 has a sum of all above valuesColumn O - No formulas here, just manual entryColumn P - Formula pasted in every cell in column except P38 is '=IF(H38="P",VLOOKUP($Dxx&$Oxx,'PressWS'!$A:$L,12,0),"")'.
P38 has a sum of all above valuesColumn Q - Formula pasted in every cell in column except Q38 is '=IF(H37="W",VLOOKUP($Dxx,'WeldWS'!$A:$F,6,0),IF(Hxx="T",VLOOKUP($Dxx,'WeldWS'!$A:$F,6,0),""))'.
Q38 has a sum of all above values.Rows where they are using SUM for all the rows above for that part need to be blue

I have 2 speadsheets, I want to copy rows of Formulas from Spreadsheet 1 and copy them into Spreadsheet 2 but convert them into Values.
Is it possible to create a button on Spreadsheet 1 and assign macro to do exactly what i want? I also want the macro to look for the first empty row in the database so that the information being copied are on the next row and not overwritten.

I have an existing macro that copies a worksheet and pastes it into another workbook, renames it and then attaches it to an email. My problem is that it pastes just the values. I need it to paste part of the original worksheet as values and part copy the formulas. So on the new workbook Columns A through F will be values only and G through Z will copy the formulas.

I am looking for a macro that will insert a new row and copies the formulas from the row above, but not from all the columns.
This is the current situation:
A
B
C
D
E
F
G
H
I
J
K
L
M
Name
Project Nr.
Work Order
hours
[Code] ......
What I want is that if column G contains "11374340" an empty row will be inserted above and the formulas from column E until M to be copied a row down. And the sum function in the last row of M needs to be changed automaticly as well (if possible).
I already have the macro to insert a new empty row which is as follows:
Sub InsertRows()
Dim i, LastRow
LastRow = Range("G" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
For i = LastRow To 1 Step -1
If Cells(i, "G").Value = "11374340" Then
Cells(i, "G").EntireRow.Insert
End If
Next
End Sub

I have about 10 rows of data that have columns of information describing computer hardware and pricing. There are 10 rows, because each row represents a different country and different tax rates and pricing changes per country. So each column of a row has a specific formula to calculate information for that row's country information. All these 10 rows of formulas are kept as a reference at the bottom of the sheet.
At the top of the sheet I need to have a drop down menu to choose a country and then it will automatically copy and paste the row of that country to the current row at the top.
Is there any easy copy/paste macro for such a thing?

What I have are dates in Column B with a lot of blank rows in between. For example: cell B2 has a date in it and then the next date would be on cell B54. I need a macro to copy cell B2 until it finds a new date (which is in cell B54) then copy the date in cell B54 until the next date again.. so on..

The task I have in front of me is that I have a very large spreadsheet (28,000 +rows) that has data that was exported from a legacy system that we no longer have. It has data in columns A thru G. I must get this data prepped to have ready for importation into the new system. What I'm trying to do is copy the data in cell A and cell B, everytime the value in column D = 1, and insert one blank row above and copy the values from cell A and cell B to cell A and cell B on the newly created row.
Below is a picture of what I'm trying to capture:

I thought that a macro would be a fairly easy way to do this, but it's proven challenging for me to write. Here is what I attempted using the macro recorder:

Can a macro make a workbook everytime you copy, it will paste special formulas only and skip blank rows? And can I still let me select the range manually? I would like to use this to link workbooks.

Here is what I am trying to do in lay terms:
If A2 and B2 on Sheet("Master") are not highlighted, copy and paste them into Cell A3 and B3 on Sheet("Job List - Numeric"). Do this up to Row 50 on Sheet("Job List - Numeric"). Once Row 50 is filled, jump to pasting to D3 and E3 on Sheet("Job List - Numeric") and continue up to Row 50 and so on....
I need to do this on one sheet in numerical order based upon Column A and another sheet in alphabetical order based upon Column B.
Here is what I have in code so far:
Sub Final()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Dim c As Integer
Dim x As Integer
For Row = 2 To 145
Range(ActiveCell, Cells(ActiveCell.Row, ActiveCell.Column + 1)).Select

I can't figure out how to make this formula work because I need to use cell AG46 and it contains an IF formula that leaves the cell blank if the sum = 0. I keep getting the #VALUE! error. How do you create a formula using a cell that has an IF formula that could leave the cell blank?
Basically this is what I need in cell I12:
=sum(a12)-(ag46*8)

I have the column E in excel labeled 'Notes' in tab 1 adding at the bottom of the column using(=COUNTA(E2:E29), so if the cell is empty it doesnt add it up in the totals. In tab two i have that same column linked via formula. In tab 2 its counting the empty cells because even though they appear blank they have a formulas in them how do i get it to not count those cells. here is the formula im using in column E tab 2.

I am trying to adjust a simple formula that I am using:
=IF(D3<>"",1,"") **Note this is clunky, but ISBLANK doesn't seem to work due to D3 containing a formula**
to also change the fill color of A3 to "Red" if data exists in D3. Everywhere I look online for the formula reference tries to point me to Conditional Formatting, Which doesnt seem to apply to seperate cells so I can't use this.

I'm trying to get some formatting/formulas to work, but apparently I'm not doing it right (otherwise, I wouldn't be here ):
1. Column A has dates. I want Column A_ to be red if the date is a week old or more from today's date, and white if it is not.
2. Column A has dates, and column B has dollar values. I want three four summations:
-Total dollar value from dates a week old from today's date
-Total dollar value from dates 2 weeks old from today's dates
-Total dollar value a month old from today's date
-Total dollar value year to date

So in Cell K12 there is a rather large formula (I condensed it for this example).
This formula is to average out the respective cells in column J. For each cell there is a possibility of 9 different entries. NRT, N/O, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
So based on the formula in K12 I need Cell J12 to Display the answer.
if any one of the Cells referenced in the formula are NRT then I need it to Display NRT. Which the Formula does now.
The problem comes in when a Cell is N/O (Not Observed)
How do I get the formula to Ignore N/O currently I have it set up to recognize N/O as 0. But excel averages 0 in and it affects the answer.
I know in a simple formula I can add <>0 to the formula to ignore zeros. How to write it into a bigger formula such as in K12.
For example the current numbers in Cells J17:J25 should average 5 however the formula averages it as 1 because it calculates N/O as 0.

I have the following line in a macro:
Range("b22:L" & Range("J" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row).AutoFilter
This selects rows based on whether they contain data and creates an autofilter of the range.
The data Im using this on will have blank cells as the bottom rows but they will contain formulas that blank the cells based on ISNA() conditions,
How do I get the above code to only select cells with visible data and ignore those that are blank but contain formulas.

I need to apply conditional formatting to cells in a column that contain formulas, or more accurately cells that do not. I have a spreadsheet with default values in a column based on a lookup function. I need to know if the user overwrites the default and cannot use UDF's or VBA. I don't think it's possible so my alternative is to include a hidden column that does the same lookup and do the conditional format off of a comparison.

I am working on a macro to insert a row below if a cell with a validation list has an item from the list selected. The new row needs to maintain the same format and formulas as the original row. To explain this better I have attached a very generic spreadsheet Called Custom Order. In this example cell A3 has a validation list. If the user selects one of the items in the list... I need the macro to insert a row below and maintain the format and formulas found in row A3.
Also this is posted on another forum. http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...=1#post1893257.........

I have several lists that I need to be able to print out periodically.
The main worksheet that underpins each list is over 900 lines long and numerous calcs and formulae populate columns to provide the data for my 'print lists'.
I need my 'print lists' on seperate worksheets and I have linked the data from my main worksheet results, using IF statements to stop unwanted results being displayed by making the rows appear empty (i.e. to display "").
Due to the design of my main Worksheet it is inevitable that I have many rows in each 'print list' that are not required for that particular 'print list'.
I want to remove the 'empty' rows from the print sheets at the time of printing. I cannot use the GoTo > Special > Blanks > Delete Rows because the rows are not recognised as being 'blank'.
I have attached 2 screenshots of my 'print lists'.
P.S. I am not assuming anything but I have searched on OZGRID and it appears to me that I might need to use Excel/VBA?
