Macro To Copy Formatting / Formulas To New Blank Row

Apr 22, 2014

I am looking for a macro that will copy the row above it, to include formatting and formulas, however not the actual contents. I need the row that's being copied to be hidden from view, which is where the problem stems from. The macro is also copying the 'Hide' formatting and I want to exclude that. This is the current macro I am using:

When User Inserts New Row Copy Formulas / Formatting From Row Above

Jan 29, 2014

If the user inserts a row, I want all formatting/formulas/data validation from the row above to be inherited in the newly inserted row. I want this to occur on sheet1.

When you insert a new row, although the entire new row is selected, the active cell is the cell in column A. So I figured I could base a routine off of the active cell. Here is what I tried:

[Code] .....

I am trying to reference a range. The first cell in the range is above the active cell. The second cell in the Range is above, the active cell, then to the right of the range, then down one. By referring to this Range, I am then trying to use the FillDown method. This code isn't doing anything.

Also, I need Excel to automatically run this code when the user inserts a new cell on sheet1. Would I need an event handler or just put this code inside of the Sheet1 code window?

How To Copy Blocks Of Formulas Or Conditional Formatting

Sep 11, 2007

Lets say I have a block of cells (lets say A1:E5) that all reference the value in the upper left hand cell (A1). Could be a formula by itself or one embedded within a conditional format. I reproduced the formula and formats in the A1:E5 block by using the absolute cell reference $A$1.

I now want to reproduce that entire block (including the referenced cell A1) multiple times on the sheet, but the catch is that each new block must reference the cell in IT'S OWN upper left hand corner. (e.g. a block located at F10:J15 must use as it's reference F10, not A1).

How can I quickly reproduce those blocks? I have done a search and replace to eliminate the $ symbols within the formulas to make them relative, but that doesn't seem to work within conditional formats.

The issue right now is I am trying to apply conditional formats to a sheet I already constructed. I don't want to overight the formulas in the UL corner, so I am trying to copy and paste the conditional formatting only. Can't seem to figure out how.

Copy Values Instead Of Formulas

Oct 24, 2007

I am working with an Address Worksheet where the house#, street name and street type are 3 seperate columns. I need to combine that data into one "Address1" column. I can use a Concatenate() formula to combine the data, but I need to be able to have that data output to a new column, independent of the formula.

The problem that I am having is if I try to "copy" the concatenated data to either a new column or new worksheet it only wants to copy the formulas. I don't need the formulas anymore, I need the data.

Copy Formats/formulas In New Rows

Jan 1, 2009

I have a spreadsheet with customised formats and formulas and the problem is that when add a new row I have to go through and manually copy all the data to the new row and as there are many columns in the spreadsheet this takes forever.

Is there anyway I could automatically copy all the formats/formulas when I insert a row?

PS: I do not want to copy any data into the cell only the formatting and formulas

Copy Formulas From First Row To Multiple Rows With Some Changes

Aug 1, 2008

I have 100 excel file in a folder such as File1, File2, File3, File4 etc. There are some figures and reports on these files. format of all the excel files are same except values. And I have a master file.

As is:
On my Master file, I have n number of formulas in Row 10,which gets data from the above excel files.
eg. Master file Sheet1 Row 10,
I have formula like this from Column B
='[File1.xls]Sheet1'!$A$1 [File1.xls]Sheet1'!$D$1, ='[File 1.xls]Sheet1'!$A$1 [File 1.xls]Sheet1'!$M$1 etc.

In Row 11,

='[File2.xls]Sheet1'!$A$1 [File2.xls]Sheet1'!$D$1, ='[File2.xls]Sheet1'!$A$1 [File2.xls]Sheet1'!$M$1 etc.
If there are 1 or two files then I can type manually in each rows, But I have more than 100 files. So i need a macro which copies the formula from Row 10 to rest of the rows, If there are 100 files with different names in the folder, the formulas have to be copied to 100 rows in the master sheet.

if the file name changes on the formulas I will get the data correctly.

Code To Add New Row And Copy Formulas Only (not Values)

Jan 28, 2014

Im looking for code to add new rows and copy the formulas only (not values) into the cells A, B, C, D and F. I have found code that does this in various places online but in every case I have found they duplicate the row then remove the values (so the formulas are left behind). The issue I have however is that it triggers some change event code I have on the sheet which interrupts the process.

Is it not possible to simply insert a new blank row, then copy down the formulas only without values?

Copy Worksheet Values (without Formulas) To New Workbook

Sep 6, 2012

I have a workbook that has quite a bit of data and goes through a lot of processing to arrive and a final summary worksheet. I want to take this summary worksheet and copy the values to a new workbook.

The issue is when I use the following code, it pulls the worksheet into a new workbook with the formulas (which turn to error messages since there is no longer a connection to the data source).

I could lengthen the code to create a new workbook, select the original data, copy, paste values into the new workbook, but that approach seems longer than needed. I'm sure there has got to be a way to copy just the values quickly and simply.

HTML Code:
Dim Template As Workbook
Dim SourceData As Worksheet
Set Template = ActiveWorkbook
Set SourceData = Template.Sheets("Summary")
SourceData.Copy

At this point I now have a new workbook with one worksheet full of "#N/A" and "#VALUE!". Is there a way I could do something like "SourceData.CopyValues"?

Copy/Pasting Formulas But Only Changing Certain Values In Formula

Feb 24, 2009

I'm trying to copy and paste this formula to multiple cells and am having difficulty doing so without everything in the formula changing.. SUMIF(Bankroll!Q14:Q6000,U143,Bankroll!Y14:Y6000)

I only want the U143 to change to U144, U145, etc. Yet when I copy and paste down the sheet it changes the Q14:Q6000 and the Y14:Y6000 values as well. I've been having to go through and paste the formula one line at a time and then manually change the U143 to the current U cell that I want it to represent in order to keep the rest of the values the same. Is there a faster way than this?

Copy The Information From The Row Directly Above The New Row And Paste (values, Formulas, Formats, Etc) Into The New Row

Dec 18, 2008

1. In whatever cell is selected when the macro is run, enter a new row.

2. Copy the information from the row directly above the new row and paste (values, formulas, formats, etc) into the new row.

3. Return to column P in the new row, i.e if the new row is row 11, then return to P11, for row 12 return to P12, etc.

I have tried recording the macro but because it is hard coded to specific rows, its not working. I have attached a sample copy of the sheet (had to zip due to the size of the file).

Macro To Copy/paste Specific Rows (and Formulas) Based On Drop Down

Sep 8, 2009

I have about 10 rows of data that have columns of information describing computer hardware and pricing. There are 10 rows, because each row represents a different country and different tax rates and pricing changes per country. So each column of a row has a specific formula to calculate information for that row's country information. All these 10 rows of formulas are kept as a reference at the bottom of the sheet.

At the top of the sheet I need to have a drop down menu to choose a country and then it will automatically copy and paste the row of that country to the current row at the top.

Is there any easy copy/paste macro for such a thing?

Copy Conditional Formatting To Other Rows

Jan 15, 2010

I'm running a spreadsheet at the moment in 2007, and one of the funcitons I've made it for certain cells to either change format if the number is to big or to small depending on the cell it is.

I have formatted all for one line against duplicate scores on the same line.
The problem is this is time consuming and there are 22 different lines.
Because with Conditional Formating you can't simply drag like you can with formulas, I was wondering if there was a more simple approach. I have demonstrated the formating required on Row 6, and require the same formating on rows 8:10, 14:26, 32:36.

Also, just to make things complicated, the values change for each line.
I have attatched the file. Row 6 with the label DEMO LINE contains all the correct formating I require.
