I have a script that opens the workbook Excel, and save him as PDF format. But my script saves all sheets in a book. I need to save only sheets with name "Cnt1", "Cnt2" .... "CntX".
Code:
Dim xlObj, objArgs, xlWB, xlSH
Set xlObj = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
Set objArgs = WScript.Arguments
file = objArgs.item(0)
fileToSave = objArgs.item(1)
set xlWB = xlObj.Workbooks.Open(file)
xlWB.ExportAsFixedFormat 0, fileToSave , 0, 1, 0,,,0
xlWB.close False
xlObj.quit
I'm not sure if this is possible but I want to be able to click print and after it has printed, transferred and cleared I would like it to save the purchase order and continuation sheet.
If this is being done on different computers is it possible for it to simply bring up the dialog box and the user save it where they would like? Libby
I need excel 2010 to automatically save at 09:30 and 19:45 every day monday-friday. Also need the file name saved to reflect the time and date it was saved - if possible.
My PC locks after 10 minutes of inactivity - unfortunately this has to happen because of where my PC is situated.
I have a workbook with the following sheets i do not want to hide called "Detailed Template", "INTERFACES", "STATUS".
I then have a number of worksheets which have their names as cell addresses i.e. "E4", "E5", "D4", "F4", "G7" and so on.
I would like to hide all worksheets (except the 3 mentioned at the top [which are sheets 1-3]) and any which contain say the value of '4'. This value is defined by a cell in the "INTERFACES" worksheet say 'A1' for example.
I want the macro to be able to automatically do this for which ever value is in 'A1'. So if it were to change to '7' it would hide every sheet that doesn't contain '7' in the name.
I would like a macro to be able to save 26 tabs within the one document to individual PDFs.Preferably I would like to be able to specify each time exactly which tabs get printed, because often I don't need to print all 26, just the first 10 or so.I would like each PDF to automatically be named with the value in cell E10 of each tab.E10 already has a formula to create its final value. It references cells from other tabs within the same document. Hopefully the fact that this cell has a formula in it won't affect my ability to use the resulting value as a 'save as' reference?I would like it if the PDFs save to the same location as the Excel sheet from which they're generated is located. The location of the excel sheet will change every three months, so I'd prefer not to specify a location with a specific filepath, as it will have changed by the time I run the macro again.
I have 120 sheets in my workbook and I only need 5 of them to save when there are changes, the other 115 are were data is pulled from. Is it possible to tell excel not to look at a sheet when it saves? I'm just after making it save faster. This is going to be a workbook that " moves" a round a lot, so I want to the 115 sheets in the same workbook.
am using Excel 2010 and having issues trying to save a worksheet to a specified file location with the save date....
I have tried several posts form this forum and elsewhere and can't seem to get the macro to do what I want.....
I want to save a 'worksheet' from an open workbook that I use for updating information to the same file path as the workbook with the date the file saved...
I have an expense report, which was originally done in Excel 2003. It still prompts users to open as read only however if they select no, they are not prompted for the password, and it has allowed them to save, so when the next person opens it, they have the previous person's report instead of the clean workbook. I have tried everything to put a password onto it. I know this is really basic stuff, but maybe I am missing a step? I want the end user to be able to make all the changes they want in read only mode and then do a save as, but if the select No when prompted "Open as Read-only?" they should have to put a password in.
What I am trying to do is that I have an excel file with macros and it is a read-only file. In order for the user to save, I want them to only be able to save as a .xlsx file as it disables all macros. If for whatever reason, the user wants to save the file as another .xlsm file, they should be allowed but before they save, a "are you sure you want to save as .xlsm?" message should pop up.
All the options in the save as box should still be available in case they want to save in that particular format. Just that the .xlsx should be the default.
Need to move data from 14 sheets (1 pay period=14 days)(2 showing on attachment for example purposes) to time cards for each person (number of employees will vary).
Key data to move to the time card is the date of the hours, #Reg Hours, #OT hours, the ticket# and job# for those hours.(ie Chris Adams Aug 15, need Chris's Reg and OT hours (8 Reg and 2 OT) on his time sheet, and the corresponding ticket number and job number (in this case from I1, I2).
Unknown number of ticket/job numbers, but the pattern of cell entries will remain the same along the top of the date sheets.(starting at I1, then L1, O1, the next would be R1)
Unknown number of employees but they will continue filling down where the names are on the date sheets (column A). Each employee would have a time card sheet as well.
Looking for VBA code to automatically save an excel file as an .xlsx format, and saving to a specific folder: C:UserswolfmDesktopLoad Lists
I have been using the attached code, but it's not working. It saves to the desktop, not the folder. Also, when it creates the file name based on sFile = ActiveSheet.Range("C4").Value & ".xlsx", it adds wierd things to the file name. I want the file name to be simply the value in C4.
I have found out how I save my document as workbook name and date, but now I want to add the saved file to a specific folder instead of just in my dokument folder. This is what I have done so far (SAVING FILE IN A SPECIFIC FOLDER):
So i have this macro that i been using for long time everthing works as expected but i will like to change the saving part to save as specific name plus todays date
Sub EQUIPMENT_RETURNS(control As IRibbonControl) Columns("A:A").Select Selection.Delete Shift:=xlToLeft Columns("C:C").Select Selection.Delete Shift:=xlToLeft Columns("D:J").Select Selection.Delete Shift:=xlToLeft Columns("C:C").Select Selection.Cut Columns("B:B").Select Selection.Insert Shift:=xlToRight Columns("B:B").Select...........................
I've been searching for ages trying to work out how to do this but have so far only managed to confuse myself. i have office 2007 and I have found some code to convert an excel sheet to PDF, however I need it to saveas the contents of cell (e6) and save to a location on our network drives (C:TEMP).
Save my workbook Then Open the SaveAs box with the path already pointing to a specific directory and with the Name and file format already entered (.xls)
This is basically to save time navigating through our folder structure (which is a real mess). I don't want to automatically saveas the file as the target folder will change each month and the last part of the file name will chance (month). So I'd like a bit of flexibility rather than total automation.
I have a worksheet that contains two basic columns of data, A and B. What I would like to do is based on the value in column A, I would like to copy the contents of column B to a textfile (preserving the basic line structure and hopefully without any extra characters like quotation marks attached). So for all the values in column A = 'Account', Id like to take all the corresponding values in Column E (for example) and save them to the same file, preferably where the filename itself as 'Account.xyz'. And I would like to do this for all unique values in Column A, that is do it for 'Account' and 'AccountPrivilege' etc. Note Column A is essentially presorted alphabetically already. There are actually 1000s of rows with hundreds of unique A values so Id like to find a way to automate this process.
I'm trying to find a way to use a macro to extract data from a specific column from Sheet1 based on the columns header/title and copied into Sheet2 into the respective column with matching header/title.
For instance, in Sheet1:
Chicken Cow Donkey Pig
[Code]....
So the above table would be the result i'm aiming for.
NOTE, its not different workbooks. I'm looking for sheet to sheet macro.
I've attached a file as well if someone wants to have a go at it. There are no codes in it.
I am running a macro in Excel which automatically generates a PDF of my worksheet. Currently it saves in the default location but i want to modify it to a specific location - P:Emergency Services|Procative ContactForms PDF.
I have a macro assigned to a button that saves the worksheet as a PDF in a certain folder, but what I cant do is make the Macro look at a certain cell to save the file as a specific batch number.
This is the macro I have so far, I want the macro to do as below but to also look at cell L3 in the same worksheet and save it as the number what is in that cell.
I am trying to run a macro that will export the 'Results' WS & ask the user where he/she wants the .xls to be saved, though when I click 'Save' nothing happens.
In additons in the save as part it has the WB's name(and full extention) is there a way to make this blank or to have something in it? I.e the WS's name?
I've been using this macro to pull data from multiple files, but instead of it creating a new tab, how can I have the macro pull the data and save it on a specific tab name(ex. Comp Stores). Here's the code I have currently.
Private Declare Function SetCurrentDirectoryA Lib _ "kernel32" (ByVal lpPathName As String) As Long Sub ChDirNet(szPath As String) SetCurrentDirectoryA szPath End Sub Sub Combine_Workbooks_Select_Files() Dim MyPath As String
I have a folder called "Report" at C: and inside this folder there are 12 folder named from 1 to 12 ("1","2",...,"12")
I need a macro to save my workbook as a file in C:Report(one of these folders depending on the month of a certain cell)
i.e. if the date in this cell is 8/12/2012 .. then save my file in C:Report12*.xlsm
This is the code i use
Code: Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim fname As String fname = Format$(Range("S8"), "dd-mm-yyyy") On Error Resume Next ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:="C:Reort" & fname & ".xlsm" End Sub
So what i need now is what to insert after C:Report
I want a macro that will save a copy of the current file using specific naming convention. My file is called OTR2CMMASTER - I want the macro to save a copy as OTR2CMSAGE(CURRENTMONTH/YEAR). The OTR2 is a named field (ProjectCode) in the workbook.
If i have a sheet with multiple tabs can I somehow make excel open that file on a particular tab rather than the tab that the user was on when they saved/closed it.
I'm trying to use the code below to paste special my first sheet to remove the formulas, then delete all other worksheets then save as a reference number (which is linked to the worksheet im saving) but I also need it to save in a specific folder.
I wanted to make a macro that saved my worksheet, then printed all the different tabs. The save is, of course, easy. Printing all tabs is being more difficult.
I tried to use the macro recorder, but all it did was select range, and then name each tab. My tab names change though, so I need something that will just select all tabs.
I have plenty of sheets in my spreadsheet but I need some of the sheets to be deleted before it can be sent to client due to sensitive data. Just to be proactive, some time I may not delete the sheet/s before I send it to client...and that means I am fired from my job.
How is it possible that before I save as my master spreadsheet, excel deletes some of the sheets (Names: "Cost", "Contacts","Vendor"), etc.
