Moving Data From Rows To Columns - Depending On Unique Content In A Field In Column

I have a worksheet which contains 2 columns which is needed to work my problem.

Unique Work ID and Description

The unique work ID are the same for each description, but there are up to 5 different description associated with each unique work id.

I'm looking for an automated process but where to start to convert the 5 rows in the unique row and 5 column for the descriptions

Add (every 3rd Or 4th Depending On Content) Rows Into Columns

I have a set of data all in clumn A - I want to sort into into rows - "Name", "Manage" or "Send Message", "Job title/Company" and "Country", but some are missing "Country" (therefore, some entries have 3 rows and other have 4.

The differentiator is that every name is repeated within the cell, whereas no other row is repeated. Any macro to get all these into 4 columns?

I am attaching a sample excel sheet showing what I need to do.In the first tab, I have a list that includes duplicate rows (first column only). I want to remove those duplicate rows but I don't want to lose the data in the following columns which can be unique or duplicates as well.

see the desired result tab in the sheet to get an idea of what I am looking for as the end result.

Keep in mind that the actual source file I am working with could have up to 50000 row, and the expected results could be around 2000 rows. So nothing can be done manually.

I have the following spreadsheet with 4 columns of data:

etc etc for about 36,000 rows.

What I need is for each unigue reference ID (column A),
I need all corresponding data moved up into a single row in serperate columns, something like this:

1000001 |245|a|Mr Fred Blogs| 270|a| 1 Blog Street|270|b| Norwich | 270|b|Norfolk |etc
1000002 |245 |a |Mrs Fredina Blogs |270|a|10 Blog Street |270|b|Norwich| etc

Each entry doesn't nessesarily have the same number of rows.

I would class myself as a beginner VBA bod, but the solution to this one is illuding me a present.

Moving Data (Addresses) From Rows To Columns

I have address data all in column A (each paret of the address is on a separate row) which I need to move to separate columns on one row for each address:

ie:

Mr Bloggs (row 1)
123 The Avenue (row2)
The town (row 3)
The postcode (row 4)

Mrs Smith (row 6)
456 The street (row7)
The postcode (row 8)

needs to be: (I have used || to indicate different columns)

Mr Bloggs || 123 The avenue || The town || The postcode
Mrs Smith || 456..... || .......

The problem you see from the above is that they are not always consistent ie. the postcode (zip) isn't always 3 rows below the name for example. Also although generally there is a blank row between each record (this may sometimes be 2) and equally there may also be times when there is a blank line in the address.

Any ideas on how to do this.... I have 1000's of records and really can't afford to go through each one making it consistent before moving it to columns?

Excel 2010 :: Moving Data Organized By Columns To Rows?

import it into to Stata to do statistical analysis. I always receive spreadsheets like this:

and I have to manually reorganize it like this to import into Stata:

Is there way I can quickly design a macro to do this? The problem is that I generally have a list of about 60 countries, and years from 1991-2011. So, it's really time consuming copying the column of data corresponding to the year, pasting below, repasting the list of countries and the years...then again..then again...then again...I'm using Excel 2010.

in moving data from multiple columns to a single column. I have attached a sample image from an excel file which details the requirement. The first column contains a qualifier, that should remain constant when the data from columns B to the end move to a single column "B". The number of columns for each row is different, however, there is a maximum number, say 25. As mentioned in the image, when the data from columns B to the end is moved in to column B, column A is retained fixed, to the original value, and the original data below it is pushed below. Any pointers to how this can be achieved by VBA or without VBA?

Get All Unique Combinations From 6 Columns (multiple Rows) Into 7th Column

I have a table with 6 columns (A to F) and multiple rows each, with cells containing words. Taking the words in any one cell from each of the columns in order from A to F will form a complete sentence each time. I need a solution to display all unique possible combinations in column G.

The number of rows is different for each column. A successful result in column G has to include cells from all columns (A to F).

I searched this forum and found a few analogous questions/solutions, but nothing close enough for me to apply to my case. I tried using a concatenation formula, but I have to manually edit the formula in each cell to get all unique combinations (and that would mean thousands of times). If I just drag the formula down it will increment all cell rows instead of one cell's row at a time.

Here's the history...

I have multiple part numbers in single cells in column A. I perform a text-to-columns function. The resulting part numbers spread across multiple columns (say, B through K). Now I need to get all the part numbers, in their own cells, stacked in column A for one continuous list of single cell part numbers.

Is there a VBA option for cutting only the data cells from Column B-K and pasting the data at the bottom of column A while avioding blank cells?

Here's how my daily report is currently set up:

The External column contains data provided by an external vendor. The Internal column contains data compiled internally. The data in the Internal column will always contain data duplicate to the External column, but will also contain unique data not present in the External column. I would normally cut out the data contained in Internal column that is not duplicated in the External column, and paste it into the Differences column, and move the remaining cells in the Internal column up. The result would be the External column data and Internal column data would align by row, and the data unique to the Internal column is segregated to the Differences column, like so:

While not a difficult task for 8 rows of data, the actual daily report contains over 1000 rows, on average. I would like to set up a template workbook, where I can simply open the template workbook, paste the data into both the External and Internal columns, then have the values that are unique to the Internal column extracted from the Internal column and inserted into the Differences column.

The end product would be used daily, with differing amounts of data (from 100 rows to 10,000 rows).

THE UNIQUE FIELD WILL BE THE "ARN" COLUMN

Each week / month I will get updated data which I will paste into the "updated data" tab. I then have a formulated tab that pulls through the information, performes some checks then calculates payments. Some records will be ready to be paid and some wont. Anything with a total claim amount will need to be paid so

1st button - Once I have pasted my data in and the sheet has calculated I need a button that copies any row from column a to y on the formulated tab that has a total claim amount. i then need the copied rows to be pasted into the paid tab and then for them to be removed from the updated reports tab. This will just leave data with totals in the paid sheet and data with none still in the Formulated tab

The following month / week I will receive another download which I will paste into "Updated reports". This data will contain records that have already been paid and once the formulated tab has calculated these records will show in the duplicate column so....

2nd Button - Anything that has a total claim amount and has a duplicate flag needs to be deleted from the updated reports sheet so it is not paid twice.

I have a large database of research data where the first column contains different categories (labelled as I, II, III, IV, V, and VI). For each row there is a data value in the second column that is numeric. What I need to do is move the data so that the data are displayed in 6 columns with the data values listed each column heading according to the category label. In the example I've shown there are 6 different categories, but the number of categories (and hence the number of columns in the final resulting sheet) will change for different data sets that I'm using. Also note the the number of cases for each different category is different (so that each column will not be even in terms of the number of rows of data under each column heading). I hope I've been able to explain what I'm looking for clearly.

I've attached a sample file showing the sample data input that I have on one sheet, and then the desired re-tablulated outcome on the second. I have done this using the auto-filter function and copy/paste, but this will take far too long for the larger datasets I'm working with.

I have lot of data in Excel 2010 which I wish to bring in Columns using a Macro depending on the input value which the macro should prompt me. For E.g.:

If I select data from A1 and J1 (in practical it will be more Columns) the Macro should prompt me how many Columns would be the output on Master Sheet. If the input is 2 then it should create an output Sheet "Master" and should show the following result
