I recently asked how to locate a max value within a variable range using a macro and got the following responses: Get Maximum Value From Graph / Chart, all of which worked great.

Populate UserForm From Offset From Found Value
What I am trying to achieve is to get the UserForm to populate from information in the Database. In column AD I have a formula which produces a number when an item becomes due. I would then like label1 (lblReg1) to populate data from the same row in column A and label2 (lblDate1) from column S. I then have a CheckBox (chk1) next to each pair of labels for the user to confirm the task has been actioned and when the CommandButton is clicked I would like the result placed in column AE in the corresponding row. I have tried utilising code from another userform I have but I cant get it to work and I believe this is to do with the 'ActiveCell' reference as there is no Activecell (you can probably guess I am new to this). I'm writing some code where I need to know the column in which a specifc text string occurs. Because of the nature of the sheet, the string will only appear in one column, but that could be in almost any column on the worksheet. Determine If Cell Maximum In Range
I have a spreadsheet where I need to check if one cell value is greater than 6 other cell values in the row, then have it enter 1 in another cell if so. For example: C1=5 C2=2 C3=3 C4=2 C5=7 C6=0 C7=4 The largest value is in cell C5, so I would like C6 to show that it is by entering a 1 in there.

Find Last Cell In Range, And Changing Another Cell Based On Offset Text
If i have a range say E12:O12 and want to find the last cell before blank, lets say it finds m12 as the cell with the value before blank. then with m12 it needs to determine weather row 11 in the same column has Text either "S" or "F" if "S" then m12 = t if "F" then m12 offset(1,-1) = t. Offset For Specific Cell Range(s)
I am designing a form that tracks call times. I have a control "cmdStart" that when clicked will enter the "Start" time in cell A4 and each time clicked will skip a column and enter the next time in cell C4. The same for a control "cmdEnd" that will enter the "End" time in cell B4 when clicked. Then the next end time clicked will go in cell D4. However, when the Start time enters the time in AE4 I need the next start time to start in A6 and do the same in this row until AE6 and then drop down again. The same with the "End" time when it reaches AF6. I think I could write the If and Else for each individual cell, but there must be a more efficient way to do this.

I'm trying to use an offset from a Named Range as my source cell in a vlookup but get a -1004 Object not defined error. When Debugged the Range.Formula appears to be blank when queried. I am trying to get the maximum from a range of text cells. The data in the cells consist of 00001 00003 00014 00028 00007 etc. the formula I am using is: =MAX(VALUE(Interface!E2:E20)) the answer that is returned is 15 and it should be 28. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

From A1:A500, I have data with different numerical values. Lookup Value Above Maximum Value Of Another Range
How to lookup for greater than a given particular value in a list of data? Suppose the value to find is in cell C17 & the column to be looked for is F, in the attached sheet. Now the data range is from F8:L27. If the value in C17 is not present in Column L, then the value greater than the specifed value should be searched in Column L. Maximum Range For Sum() Function?
I am trying to sum 44,582 cells in a column, the values in all of them are either 0 or 1, but I always get a value of 0. It works when I bring this right down to 1000 or 1500 cells but it can't seem to sum the entire range. This is Excel 2004 for Mac OSX Version 11.3.5

Select From A Range If Maximum Exceeded
I hope the title makes sense. I have a spreadsheet that I'm trying to use to calculate volumes of liquid. For each liquid there is a minimum and maximum amount that can be included in a vial, and a checkbox to indicate if it should be included or not. What I'm having trouble with is some logic (other than a million if= statements) to determine the amount of each needed. If only a few are selected, using the max value for each is fine as it is below the volume of the vial, so I want to use the max. But if enough are selected, the max for each would exceed the volume of the vial, and I want to pick a percentage of each component's range until we get a volume that will fit in the vial (ie, it figures out that 84% of the max for each will fit, but knows never to drop below the min).

IF And OFFSET: How To OFFSET Only If Cell Has A Value In It
I have attached the .xls file. The basic setup is as follows: (1) the user inputs a number into cells B2:B6 (arbitrarily shown as 3,4,3 and 2) (2) the user then inputs a series of values into the respective columns E, G, I or K (corresponding to examples A-D, respectively) with SPACING between each value corresponding to the value entered in B2:B6. For example, the value "4" is chosen in B3, so values are entered in column G at time = 0,4,8,12,16,20....etc As another example, the value "3" is chosen in B4, so values are entered into column I at time = 8,11,14,17,20,23...etc, ie. the starting point is not necessarily t = 0. (3) once the values have been entered as described in point (2) above, a series of results are automatically calculated in columns F,H,J and L. NOTE: I have omitted the formulae for the calculation and have just entered arbitrary (color coded for clarity only-i don't need color coding!) numbers alongside each inputted value for the 4 examples A-D. OK, so what I want to extract from the table for each example is the paired time AND result values, and then show them in a new table. I have used an OFFSET formula (originally suggested by "daddylonglegs") to do this, and the results i GET are shown in columns O-V. HOWEVER, what i WANT is the output as shown in columns Y-AF. So as you will notice, there are 2 problems: (1) Example C in columns S/T: value in cell B4 = 3, but the first value entered in column I does not start at a multiple of 3, so no values are returned in columns S/T because the offset function only uses row 6 as a reference point. What i want is the result shown in columns AC/AD. How do i write a formula which says, "look down a column, find the first cell that has a value in it, and then offset from that cell/row" ? (2) Example D in columns U/V: since the first input in column K starts a t = 12 (ie, cell K18), then i have 5 rows of empty space in columns U/V. What i want is the result shown in columns AE/AF. Lastly, i should add that i am not necessarily stuck on using OFFSET function, since i keep reading that it is quite volatile.

Filling Down With An Offsetting Found Range
I am trying to replace blank cells in a range with the value a found cell. For example, in column A there are blank cells interspersed with cells that have "Account:" in them. For each row that has "Account:" there is a specific account number in column B. Find Maximum Value From A Pre-filtered Range
I am looking for a way of finding the maximum value in column H for each row in a pre- filtered range using VBA. For example, the result of of filtermacro1 may return several records derived from a database of several hundred records. In the example below, the name of the person is in column C, followed by their H column value. Find Text And Copy Found Range
I have some EXCEL files, titled as "AAA", "BBB", "CCC", so on... Calculated values are placed in Column Z for each file. In order for me to export the files to another software, I would need to create another new EXCEL file (I call it MASS) and place all the calculated values in that new file. In that new file, the titles have to be on Column A and the calculated values on Column B. For example, File "AAA" has 120 calculated values. In MASS, the word "AAA" has to appear on Column A a number of 120 times and the 120 calculated values are then placed on Column B. Each value must correspond to the word "AAA". The same procedure goes for "BBB", in which the word "BBB" is placed on Column A after the end of "AAA". What I want to achieve is by using a macro that will look up the title of the Active Worksheet and then scan Column A in MASS. If the title matches whatever is in Column A, then the macro will paste the corresponding calculated values onto Column B automatically. For example, for file "GGG", the macro will look up the word "GGG", scan through Column A in MASS for the start of the word "GGG" and paste the calculated values at the start of Column B. Could I have an idea of how might the macro looks like?

Maximum And Minimum Formulas Based On Date Range
I have a spreadsheet with two columns - column A contains dates and column B has the corresponding data (always numbers). The data is not uniform (i.e there may be lots of entries in any given day and none over the next few). The data is always sorted in chronological order. I want to set up a summary table to show the min, mean, median, max for each week. I have set up an array to calculate the mean, but I am having trouble working out a good way of gettting the others short of having a set of columns that manually define each cell...for instance =min(b3:b27) or =min(b28:b30).

(it will only occur once in each time block) and N1 on the same row has the highest value [ 1 and 48.3 above] put 1 in column O on the same row else a 0. If 1 occurs in column N (time block X) and the value in N is not the highest then store a 0. This needs to be done for each time block. It feels like this can probably done by an If or vlookup type of routine but I can't come up with one that works across blocks of times.

Return Values In Range Based Upon Relationship To Maximum Value
I am looking to select two values from a range based upon their relationship to the maximum value. In this specific case I am trying to calculate the Quality factor based upon the frequency response of a transducer. So I need to identify the Maximum impedance and its corresponding frequency. I also need to identify the 3db points either side of the maximum impedance. The 3db points are found at 2/3rds of the maximum value of the impedance (Impedance Mag in attached spreadsheet). Calculating the first 3db point isn't overly difficult as I just calculate the value for the 3db point and use the MATCH function to find the closest Impedance value and then work out the corresponding frequency from that. I am stumped as to how to calculate the second 3db point (above the Max impedance value). I have attached a spreadsheet with frequency information in column A, the other columns are used to derive the values found in columns M (Impedance Mag) and N.

Range.Offset Limit
I am currently writing some VBA code to loop through and copy data from Excel file in sub folders into a master sheet of data. There are some 1200 Excel files (these are pre-2007 files), each containing a maximum of 600 lines of data. So far the code works until it gets to around 65000 rows (the old Excel limit). I am using and writing the code in a Macro-Enabled Excel 2007 file. I am using a Range.Offset call, which is where the error is occurring, to copy in a name basically. What happened right before this was a Range.Copy operation from the old Excel file to a Range.PastSpecial in the new one. This worked fine, and actually went a few hundred rows past the pre-Excel 2007 limit. But when the single cell operation Range.Offset().Value is called next, it crashes with a Application or User-Defined error. The code works some 100+ times through the loop with no problem, and the file that it was working on is no different then the other files.

Offset Range Naming
= OFFSET(CustomerInfo!$A$9,0,0, COUNTA(CustomerInfo!A:A),1) for a "dynamic" range name...i like the concept, but my data validation in a cell that references this "dynamic" range name (with the offset function) doesn't recognize all the values in the range (when i just range name it, the data validation sees all the names, but not all when i use the offset...)

Alternative To Offset() In Named Range
I have used Offset() for creating dynamic Named Ranges in Excel 2003. I'm a little disturbed that this usage is no longer supported in Excel 2007? Has anyone else seen this breakdown? What alternatives are available. In my brief investigation, it looks like opening the .xls in compatibility mode allows the usage to work. However, saving the workbook as a .xlsm (since I also have macros in it) causes any usage of the named range containing Offset() to return an error (both VBA and sheet functions).

Range Offset Error 1004
I am using the following macro to format a sheet - I recently added a auto-fill part to it which essentially moves a number from one column to another and autofills it in all the cells until it encounters another number of the same kind in the column it moved the previous number from. When I try to run this macro it does everything upto the auto-fill part and then gives me error 1004 [the set cell = cell.offset(1,0) ] is highlighted in yellow.

Dynamic Range Using Offset And CountIF
I have a data set that alters each week which means at the moment I have to update the ranges manually each time. I would like to use a dynamic range and think I need to use the Offset and CountIf functions. Both the start and end of the ranges are dynamic. The range is based on grouping the numbers in Column E (LocNo) What I would like to do or think the way to achieve this is by: First looking at Column E Count how many cells are equal to criteria. (CountIf) offset 5 columns left from the first cell that meets the criteria (Offset -5) offset X rows down based on how many cells meet the criteria (Offset X) I've include a spreadsheet spread sheet which 'should' help illustrate the problem showing the ranges I would like and how the data changes each week.

Dynamic Range - OFFSET Function??

given a range named xyz which refers to d1:e3 range("xyz") where the 3rd row is blank. I want to examine the row after the range with range("xyz").end(xlUp).Offset(1,0).Cells(1,1).value I find that this code refers to the last row of the range which is blank. How can I be sure that I will be 1 row (offset=1) below the range?
