Paste Formula Down Column Based On Last Cell In Another
Jan 29, 2008I am trying to get a formula that is sitting in cell A2 to be pasted all the way down column A as far down as B values exist.

View 5 RepliesI am wanting to paste formula from N1 till N X (X = varaiable row) where X reliant on Column A Row X. If Column A Row X has character "=====" it should paste N1 Formula all the way down till N Row X which is equal to A Row X containing "=====" .
I might be sounding complicated over here but it is a simple equation.. I have tried to approach this in the capacity i could by condition if Column A row x is blank delete the row.
1. In this formula in column C, below, i have A2 as the look up... sometimes this will be A3 , A7 or other... how can i vary this formula? I've tried it all ways.
Range("C2:C" & LR).SpecialCells(4).Formula = "=VLOOKUP(A2,Data!$A:$B,2)"
It need to be inserted based on the first cell in column A which has a value.
2. after this has done its thing... how can i paste the values to ONLY those cells which have been affected by the formula. I don't want to copy, paste special the whole column as there are sub total and other exciting things included.
I've searched for a solution on the board and the internet too but to no avail; I am trying to create a macro that will select the entire column based on a cell reference G1 which is infact a Date.
Column G to Column S are pre-defined with a specific Date in row 8. If the Date in one of these columns (G8 to S8) match with the Date in cell G1, say it finds a match with H8, then I want to copy the range F14:F2000 and paste as values in range H14:H2000. The possibility of a match found is limited to a single columns from G to S.
I need a macro to find the last cell in the column, then copy the formula to the next blank cell. Then, it goes back to the last cell (above) and paste's values. Then, go to the next column and repeat the process. I can do this but have to call each cell separatly...however, I would like to do it in a loop to simplify things. It would be great to even be able to just set the start and ending columns. Here is my current code:
Dim rng As Range, aCell As Range
Set rng = Range("C8, D8, E8, F8, G8, H8, J8, K8, L8, M8, N8, O8, P8, Q8, R8, S8, T8, U8")
For Each aCell In rng
Selection.End(xlDown).Select
Application.CutCopyMode = False
[Code] .......
It does not go to the next column, instead it stays in the same column and repeats the process.
I have data in E6-E67 on Sheet 1. Based on the date in A2 on that sheet, I need to paste to a column in Sheet 2. In excel, I am able to get the cell location through vlookup and get the correct column number/cell reference. When it gets to the paste location, I am stumped on how to format that line of code? Do I need sometime of variable? I tried to use the address/lookup code but it does not work.
I have excel 2013.
Please see attached sample worksheet. Column A will be generated by the user manually.
I'm looking for a way in VBA to have A1:D20 in Sheet2 copied and pasted in the "Bank Reconciliation" Sheet based on how many "Markets" there are in Column A. Then, once that's complete to have A22:D30 (the smaller box in Sheet2) copied and pasted directly below those results.
I have what the macro would hopefully generate to the right in "Bank Reconciliation" (B6:E54) as an example. So if there's a market in A1, copy and paste the box to B6. If there's a market in A2, copy and paste the box directly below the first (B26) etc. etc. until it's done, then paste the smaller box directly below whatever the macro generates.

I'm working on setting up a chart. The formula I'm using for cell B21 is this: =ROUND(F3,0) & " " & IF(E3<F3 ...

Trying to write a formula that looks for the first number in the same row, then returns the value in that column in a different row. In the example included, cell A-7 should contain the formula. Within row 7, determine the column where the first number is listed (column D in this case), then return the value listed in row 3 of that column ('C' in this case).
I've tried Lookup, Index, and Match functions, but can't seem to get the right combination.
I have an Excel Spread Sheet that lists all of the people who have been issued Keys in your workplace, so the row has multiple information columns (Name, Department, Key Code, etc). One row is titled "Left Workplace" and you can select either a Yes or a No. Based on that selction I want it to copy and paste into a different spreadsheet (Either Inactive - if "No" is selected or Active - if "Yes" is selected) What is the best way to go about this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've two sheets: "present" and "removed". I would like to have a whole row copied and deleted and existing rows moved up in "present" when I type the word "yes" in column E. The deleted rows are to be pasted into "removed", with two extra pieces of data - date removed and name of person removing it - to be asked in pop up boxes and inserted into col F and G respectively in "removed".
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to create a small section of VBA code on Excel 2007 that looks for a specific date on a column and then pastes a value on the correct row.
I have weekly dates in columns along the top of my spreadsheet on row 3:
C3 = 07/11/08
D3 = 14/11/08
E3 = 21/11/08
etc...
The row further down the spreadsheet that I wish to use is selected by previous code and could be any row number within column B.
I need a snippet of code that searches for a particular date along row 3, and then once it finds the correct column, it pastes the value in the corresponding cell on my active row.
For example, if my active cell/row happens to be on B18, and the date I'm looking for happens to be on L3, I need to paste a value into cell L18.
I imagine there needs to be some form of HLookup, but I've no idea how to implement this in VBA code.
I've been using a macro that, among other things, will split a set of data into different sheets based on one column. For example, if I have Column A populated with numbers 1-10, each entry with a "1" in column A gets pasted into a sheet entitled "1", and so on. Some of the numbers I group together (for example, let's say I would group the 2s and 3s together).
I've been using the code below, but it seems to be very fickle. Half the time I run the macro, I get a "Run-time error 1004" and it points to the line "Sheets.Add. Name = WhtSht". Is there a different (easier) way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
Dim rng As Range, StrtSht As String, WhtSht As String
StrtSht = ActiveSheet.Name
For Each rng In Range("A1:A" & Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row)
WhtSht = rng.Value
If WhtSht = "21" Then WhtSht = "7"
If WhtSht = "34" Then WhtSht = "33"
If WhtSht = "36" Then WhtSht = "33"
If WhtSht = "37" Then WhtSht = "33"
If WhtSht = "56" Then WhtSht = "55"
If WhtSht = "57" Then WhtSht = "55"
If WhtSht = "76" Then WhtSht = "75"
If WhtSht = "97" Then WhtSht = "96"
If SheetExists(WhtSht) Then
Rows(rng.Row).Copy
Sheets(WhtSht).Select
Range("A" & Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row + 1).PasteSpecial xlPasteAll
Sheets(StrtSht).Select
Else
Sheets.Add.Name = WhtSht
Sheets(StrtSht).Select
Rows(rng.Row).Copy
Sheets(WhtSht).Select
Range("A1").PasteSpecial xlPasteAll
Sheets(StrtSht).Select
End If
Next
I need to copy certain columns from one sheet to another sheet based on a formlua on the date.
So, on 'Master Sheet' I have a column called 'Date'.
I would like a formula, or macro, which does the following.
If date (column D) is over 2 weeks old (today's date - 14 days) then copy columns A, D, S and T to another work sheet called 'Not Attended' and paste them into columns A,B,C, and D.
I m finding the last used column and pasting a formula in the same row to the last column. Here is what I have used and it isn't working.:

I have a macro that works but it pastes the formulas and it takes quiet a while to run due to the number of records. How can I alter this to paste just the values and speed up the macro?

I am attempting to copy the results of a formula in a column to a row. The data in the column is in a different worksheet. Although pasting the data using the transpose option in the drop down menu works, I really want to have the results of the formula returned. The reason for this is the results are variable based on the formula.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying create a macro to enter a series of forumula's in a series of rows in whatever column is currently selected (or column which has a cell selected). IE if the active cell is C5 I want "=A1+B1" copied to C10 of it was AA43 selected I'd want "=A1+B1" copied to AA10. Have done this with setting a row as a variable, but whenever I've defined the column as one it comes out as a numeric value. and gives me "method range of object global failed"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using excel 2003. I would like to select and copy rows of data within a worksheet of a workbook and then paste those rows into a newly created excel workbook. That is the easy part. The complication is that I would like the macro to select the rows based on a particular string value that will be impossible to specify in a fixed way (i.e., it will change from project to project). Let's say the variable that distinguishes the rows is location, so some are from Tokyo, some New York, and some from Paris. Using vba, how can one 'splice' the data into (in this case, three) seperate workbooks based on the string/values of another variable?
I am familiar with auto-filter, but in this case, I really do need to create seperate workbooks, rather than apply calculations to a selection of the data.
I have a file that has two sheets, I have some formulas in the first sheet named "Data",What i would like to have is, If column G in the sheet Data is "Closed", then i want that particular row to be cut from the sheet " Data" and pated in to the Sheet "Done".
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet and I was wondering if there is a way to copy from a specific range in say A1:A5 in Sheet1 and paste into Sheet2 where the column matches cell A1 in Sheet1.
I am trying to do this in VBA and I was wondering if there is a way to do this.
I would like to copy a formula in a cell and then paste only the text of the formula, but I can't figure it out. Basically, I would like to avoid going into the cells and absolute referencing or hitting F2, then copying the text.
When I hit "Ctrl C" to copy the cell, then hit "Alt/E/S/F/Enter" to paste the formula, it is just like a regular copy/paste formula-wise in that the references move.
Any way to construct a formula in excel that will look at a reference in one column and find the latest date from the data in an adjacent column for that specific reference?
Below is an exctract from a much larger sheet of the columns in question.
The result in the last column should be 21/05/2014 for anything with D.O.001 in the second column and 15/05/2014 for anything with D.O.002.
Date Decision agreed
Disposal Order
Latest Decision date for D.O.
06/05/2014
D.O.001

I want to copy a cell from a column and paste it to next column and up one row. My current data looks like this:
DATA
1234
I want to make it look like: DATA 1234
How would I count unique dates associated with another specific value on a worksheet?
For instance, Lets say I want to count each day a particular person makes a sale.
Example:
Sales PersonSale IDSales Date
Don 1001/6/2014
Don 1401/7/2014
Don 1601/8/2014
Jack 1011/6/2014
Jack 1021/6/2014
Mike 901/5/2014
Mike 1031/6/2014
So on another worksheet, I'd have:
Sales Person Days with Sale
Don 3
Jack 1
Mike 2
The Formula would go into the "Days with Sale" Column.
I have a form in which users will manually enter a date in Column A. I would like to create a formula in Column B which will add 4 days to the date based upon Column A. However, the 4 days should only be added to a select set of dates which I would like to specify. If the date is not found in this select set of dates, then the result in Column B should be the same date as Column A.

I thought of a way to build a script that first builds the formula to one cell then Copy Paste Special value of that Cell to my desired Cell.
But when the code runs The cursor moves back and forth all the time...
