I'm looking for a way to pull the last four digits out of the middle section of these entries, so that I end up with:
0803
1564
etc...
I would like one formula to remove "5206" from this string. I tried a combination of right/left formulas together, but I could not get it to work.

I am looking for a formula to delete information from the middle of a text string. I have ~ 1,000 lines of data. Each text string is composed of the same way. The data I am looking for is two parts of the string (1) all the text up to and including the first “%” character (2) the last six characters.

My question is in regards to query and setting up parameters. I have the following query (I am using an example for security purposes)

What I am trying to do is have a parameter for the user to change the AA21. For example the user could type AA33 and it would change the code to:

I am familiar with creating parameters and have been able to add things to the end of the string but not in the middle. I have been trying a very long time to figure this out.
I am looking for a formula to remove the text 2.2 from the string Rav4 2.2 D-4d X or 1.33 out of Yaris 1.33 Vvt etc, I have tried using the formula
=IF(P2="","",VLOOKUP("*"&P2&"*",AM$1:AN$25,2,1))
But it just keeps returning #N/A. I have all the variables outlined in cells AM$1:AN$25 hence the reference. I currently have the formula
=IF(P2="","",VLOOKUP(P2&"*",AK$1:AL$25,2,1))
Which is working perfectly @ finding and returning the start of the string but just cannot get the one to find the middle characters.
I have a text string with 3 data to be extracted and then split throu range, but only specific parts is needed.
string is like that:
Name Surname - Number : ################ - Exp : YYMM - Centre etc etc....
Lets say its allways happens in cell A3, for example:

*that runs only if string starts with a letter, then if so
*takes Adrian Kukuwas to cell D3
*takes 1009 (the exp) to B3 and makes it look like 09 10 (or 09_10)
*in A3 leaving only the number 1235467890123456 text formated (sometimes the copy source formats the cell for bad)

I'm trying to pull a specific 10 digit number from a text string. The ID # is always 10 digits however sometimes there are dates in the data that need to be excluded as well as other numbers such as "I-9". The 10 digit number will always start with 1 or 8. Is there a macro or Formula to extract this data? Please find the example dataset below.
Edit: I should specify I want the "100118416" number from the first cell example or the "800011320" number from the 10th example.

For example - in this string

I want to pull out the text "Jimmy Bop (Broad)
It will always be between "adgroup=" and ">>/" (although sometimes the character ">>/" will appear multiple times within the string.

i.e. in this example, I want one column to display the earliest date associated with DU 145, and the next column to display the latest.
From what I understand, I need an array formula to do this and have written the following, which works:
=MIN(IF($A$2:$A$6=A2,$B$2:$B$6))
(confirmed with CSE) - and the same for MAX.
Where I'm struggling is that DU 145 may be entered in the workbook as DU145, DU 145 or DU-145 and I need to take all of them into account. I tried:
=MIN(IF($A$2:$A$6="du*145",$B$2:$B$6))
As this works in a COUNTIF formula in the same sheet. But this just returns a date of 00/01/1900. I'm new to array formulae & haven't really worked them out yet. Is there a way to do this? I assume it's something to do with the way I'm entering text as removing the wildcard * makes no difference.
I have a set of data listed by country, I need to add a new country to the list and I want to keep everything in alphabetical order. My problem is that adding a new series to the range anywhere but the end throws of the series formatting for my chart. The plotted points on my chart are the countries flag, so when everything shifts down a row the flags no longer represent the proper country. Is there an easy way to add the new country and keep my formatting lined up or will I need to redo the formatting for all the alphabetically lower countries?

I have a spreadsheet that is updated weekly -- but every week new info is added that needs a user to input corresponding info. I use a vlookup function to link to another spreadsheet that populates the info from previous weeks and the info that is missing shows up as #N/A...
First I was using a msgbox function to get the info:

I would like to make it more user friendly by creating ONE userform that displays all of the employees as labels -- has a text box in which to put the ID # -- and then has a drop down box to choose the type of employee (2 options). I want all of that info to go back to the reference spreadsheet so it will be saved for following weeks, and then redo the vlookup to get the info into the new weekly spreadsheet (I can do that part)....

I'm trying to populate cell A31 on a worksheet titled "VolumeTotals" with the data in Cell E23 from a worksheet titled "CurrentCustomers" if the merged cells F3-F22 on worksheet "CurrentCustomers" are equal to the word "Contract".
I have an excel workbook with 2 worksheets. One worksheet shows the MASTER LIST of COMPLETE Customer Names (e.g. ABB Supplies Incorporated). The other worksheet has information on customers but the customer names typed in are incomplete (e.g. ABC Supplies). I need a macro that would look do a comparison of the customer names in the 2nd worksheet to the Master List worksheet and pull the data (complete name, address, etc.) for those that would match (partial match since company name is 2nd worksheet is usually incomplete).

I want to pull this data for each name in Col. A in to another sheet. I've tried "IF", "Vlookup" and a couple of others, it just seems to be hitting the first option and pulling the data but not the ones below.
So if I selected Green on the second tab it brings through the "6" and "5", but not informtion from the listing from Green below. So I wiould like to list all the Green's, and the applicable data.
Is there a way to use Data Validation that will pull data from a source list and also be able to type in additional data or just new data in same cell?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Pivot Table, with lots of data in, what I want to be able to do is on a separate sheet pull out the data from the first column(A), and then average out the figures from Columns(B-E).
When this has been done on the sheet (with the average data) in the next column, I then want to use Column(F) (from Pivot Table), and do a simple sum to work out 5% of the difference if it is greater than ZERO between Average Column and Column(F) (from pivot Table) Column(F) must be higher than the average in order to work out the 5%.
Is there a way to pull out all of the data from a row and place it into a cell out to the right of the range?
Some of the data is text and some of it is dates.
My problem is that it is a big spread sheet and the data is scattered in the sheet. Not uniform at all.
I've been playing around with VLOOPUP, MATCH, SUMPRODUCT... But I can't seem to get this one right..

I don't know if this will require a macro or maybe a function of excel, but I have a large listing about 1000 row in spreadsheet. Each row correspond to a unique customer. But I will have to extract only the customer that I am looking for, which is about 30 of the 1000. The cell A1 is the customer # which will be use as reference, so I have about 30 customer # to pull out from that listing. Which will be the greatest method to do so?

This is what I want to do...In PartNumList tab if Annual Rev (Col O) is less than 20K then value in Col (A) i.e Part Number should be copied and pasted in Under20K tab... it has to pasted in either B18, B24,B30,B36, if B18 is populated then B24 if that too is populated then B36 and so on..
I want to do that same for Over 20K but if I have a starting point for Under 20K I can work on it offline too..
