Pulling Over Data With Specific Criteria?

I have a huge listed of assets - the column i where my info is has vasrious serial numbers.... some are a simple string of letters/numbers and the others look like this for example AG-1234567

I need to somehow pull out the ones that look like that. (AG-1234567). I only need those. Now normally i would just do a filter and pull em out however, this sheet contains 73k worth of items.

what would be the formula to perform such a task?

Pulling Specific Data From Random String

I have random comments in a column of cells of which I'm searching for a specific string of characters that may be contained in each cell. I want to pull 2 pieces of data from this specific string and place the data in 2 other cells in the same row.

Sample comments in cell 'N1':

..... blah, Appt: Friday; 12/4; night drop off. blah, blah....
Sample comments in cell 'N2' (and so on and so on):

.....blah, blah, Appt: Thurs; 12/3; 12:30PM. blah, ....

The specific string in the above examples will always begin with:

APPT:
Then the key elements found directly after the 'APPT:' are:

Thurs; 12/3; 12:30PM.

(which are the)

DAY; DATE; TIME.
These elements will be always separated by the semi-colon ';' and the string will always end with the period '.'

I need a pair of formulas to be in col 'J' & 'K' to extract the DATE and place it in column 'J' and the TIME and place in column 'K', both in each same rows.

So, from the 2 above samples I would need the following:

in Cells:
J1 - 12/4 ....... K1 - night drop off

J2 - 12/3 ....... K2 - 12:30PM

I've been trying to come up with a formula using a combination of FIND() & MID(),

Have a worksheet Pricelist, require to pull data from the columns to a new worksheet only if qty is more than 0, and delete empty rows afterwards. Required result is in worksheet order. Original file is about 10K rows.

I've attached a workbook with a description of what I'm trying to do. I'm not sure if it can be done with formulas or if it will require VBA. I can move it to the VBA section if the latter terms out to be the case. it's not that I'm opposed to copying code, I just like to know how it works with enough depth that I can fix/modify it, and I can't do that with VBA).

I have a sheet (see Sheet 1) from a report we run which lists the following information: Personnel Number, Amount, Wage Type. This is generated for 1000's of employees, with each personnel number being repeated several times in column A.

I am trying to pull specific data to another sheet (see Sheet 2), which would ideally generate the sum of "Amount' for a specific wage type for each personnel number. The issue is is that there may be dplicates of the wage type for each ID number (which is also repeated).

For example, the total salary amount on sheet 2 for ID#12345678 would be 0, while for #9876543 it would be 1250. Is there a formula I could use on sheet 2 column B that would generate this?

Pulling Name If Multiple Criteria Follows?

I'm looking to create an automated table with formulas to populate based on multiple criteria in a data sheet. I want to pull the person with the highest SALES but meets every criteria listed.

Currently I have it set up like:

Name | Sales | Penetration | Score | Target, etc.

But each criteria has a minimum/maximum criteria that they have.

I'm wondering, how would I be able to pull the NAME of the individual with the highest sales but meets criteria such as Penetration, Score and Target.

The employee is listed multiple times because each row represents a pay period with number of hours worked. the last column I used to average the hours worked. So what I need is whenever there is a value greater than 30 in column g, I need to copy the row where column G has a value. It can be copied on the same sheet or on another.

Average Data With Specific Criteria

I have a data base with 12 columns of data. I need it to look for one criteria in one row, match it, look for another criteria in another row, match that, and then once those criteria are met, average those rows that met the criteria with the statistics in that row that contains a value.

Such as:
Monica 2 Timed 310 Michele
Tom 3 UnTimed 410 TC
Art 5 Timed 216 TC
Monica 4 Timed 415 Michele
Tom 6 Timed 200 TC
Tom 4 Untimed 216 TC
Art 8 Timed 410 TC

What I need is the formula to search in through the data, look for Tom, then find all the ones that say UnTimed, and then average the number in column 2 that match those criteria.

I have a big data sheet. I have approximately 2170 rows and 50 columns. In some rows I have a series of consecutive zeros. I need to build a formula that gives me the date ( located in row3) right before the first zero in the series of consecutive 12 zeros.

For instance in row 1340 I have a series of 12 consecutive zeros. The first zero happens in column AC, therefore I need the formula to retrieve cell AD3. however every rows has zeros located in different cells therefore I need a general formula.

Extracting Data From A Table According To Specific Criteria

I'm using Excel 2007 and I'm looking for a way to extract certain records/rows from a table and to have that data copied to another area of the spreadsheet. I actually want to extract Invoice amounts according to a specific account number so that I eventually end up with all the invoices for a particular client on another tab so that they can be printed out as a kind of client statement.

I know there are ways to filter and then copy the records/rows to another tab but I want it to be automated as far as possible. What I really want to do is to "pull" the records into a new tab by using some kind of formula in the cells where I want the data rather than having to copy it there. I know how to sum data for this kind of thing but what I'm really struggling on here is being able to "Display all the records in a seperate area" first before I eventually add formulas to sum.

I don't mind the records being coppied if the process is automated but don't really want to get into macros as writing macros isn't my strong point.

I've tried using "VLOOKUP" but it will only return values for the first data item it finds (Account number in my case), whereas I really need it to continue to return values for the data item it finds if there are multiple instances of it!

I have a huge list of survey responses which asks people to identify their location and then rate how important 6 facilities in their area is (rating 1 - 4, 4 being most important). So the table has cells are similar to this, except that there are about 5000 responses with about 2500 different locations identified

I have been able to analyse the average results for the whole dataset by using the following formulas:

=COUNTIF(A2:C4,"camden") Count number of occurrences a location is listed
=ROUND(AVERAGE(D2:D4),2) Average response for medical centres
=COUNTIF(D2:D4,1) Counts number of times '1' comes up, would repeat '2', '3', and '4' to create a pie graph

But what I would really like to do it be able to count each response for each question by location (for example "Camden"). I've tried both of these but they don't seem to be working.

Pulling Data From A Tab

i want it to change the Header in E1 to the name of that price level and have the prices change according to that price level. The price level prices are currently being pulled from another tab through vlookups which lookups up the part numbers. My method only works with 1 price level right now and have no clue how to approach it with more then one price level. Also these part numbers will change positions and locations and are not permanent hence why i thought to use a vlookup.

Is there a way macro wise ( preferably through a formula ) that i can have Column E prices change according to the Price Level Entered.

In the little chart on the left, I have the customer name, when their story is due, and when it was completed. On the right, I want to show how many words per hour my journalist is averaging for each week. What I'd like to do in cells J2 through J5 is to have a formula that pulls out the total number of words written for all projects that occurred during that time frame. I can't seem to figure out the formula, though. I was thinking that I needed an array formula starting with ifferror and calling from the row functions, but I can't seem to get it to work out right.

On Sheet 1(Standard), I listed all 205 items with columns b-e also being filled in.

I have searched extensively for an answer to this but can't find anything.

I am pulling data off the web and it puts data down the column in the following manner:

Number
Number

Data2
Number
Number

I need to extract each set of Data to another worksheet. The problem is that it will be anywhere from 1 row each to 10 rows each. In each instance, there is a blank between the two sets of Data. I've looked at ISBLANK, LOOKUP, SEARCH, etc. but nothing I've tried has worked out.

Pulling Data From Website When Url Changes

I have written a macro to pull in data from a website each day. However the macro falls over because the end of the url changes slightly each day as the website provider updates the information. Unfortunately there does not appear to be a logical pattern to the number change in the url and so I donít think I can pre-empt what the change will be. The path through the website remains the same, but the url changes as a new csv document replaces the old one. Is there any way of writing the macro so that it opens/picks up the current url rather than a fixed url?

The navigation to the page required is as below.

http://www.nseindia.com/ > Equity > Historical Data > Security-wise data >

eg. NSE Symbol: RPL, Series: ALL, From date: 01-01-2008, To date: 01-05-2008.

After clicking on the 'Get Results' button it navigates to the page with tables. At the end it says "Download file in csv format". upon clicking this a csv file opens. (http://www.nseindia.com/content/equi...-2008RPLXN.csv)

I need this page to be opened in Excel sheet. How should I go ahead?
(Basically I need historical stock data csv files of various stocks)

Even though a simple web query opens the page, it do not work if the parameters (stock name, date) are changed.

I found that the last resulting page in csv is using a "REFERRAL URL". Could this be a problem? How to get around?

I know little bit of VBA and can further work to pass variables.
