I have a range of cells B2:20 which has text in it. The range is sorted by cells A2:20, and I would like to do this without doing another sort if possible. The data looks like this in column B:

In one single cell (O1), I'd like to have the information:

Is this possible to do without using VBA?
In Cell A1 i have a text string of "ABS9E8C2D" i want something is cell B1that will arrange the string in Alphabetical order for Letters, then increasing order for numbers "ABCDES289".

AKR DC 0004
And so on, I want to run a piece of code from a user form which will return the highest value in the range plus one on the numeric portion. I can find the largest value easily with a sort and last used cell value and I could drag out the numeric portion, increment and crowbar it back in but I'm sure there is a more elegant way.
All asset codes follow the same naming convention and all reside in column a of the active worksheet.
I want to be able to return a text string of either Trainee 1 or Trainee 2, (or default to other text) based on codes that are 4 digits (DD01, KKB1, KKB2, KKC2, GG03, etc, where starting with K and ending with 1 or 2 is the criteria for TR 1 or TR 2 . There are two many KK** items to list them all in an If statement and I can't seem to use a wildcard.
=IF (right(c1,1) = "1", "Trainee 1", B1)
gets me halfway there I think but of course doesn`t pick up Trainee 2 and also returns Trainee 1 when it sees DD01.
Im trying to make a simple macro for cataloging some equipment and where its located.
I've created a user form where there is a free text field for Equipment. Instead of just inserting this entry into the first available cell, i would like for it to place it in the first available cell under the corresponding first letter of the equipment to the named worksheets A-Z.
I have named the worksheets A through to Z, and upon entering the free text 'Equipment' name, say for instance Trolley, for it to recognise the T, open the worksheet named T and insert the equipment name and location etc across the first free column.

There are 6 “could be more” blocks of data on Monday’s Worksheet, not all rows of each block will be filled. The idea is put the data from Monday WS in List WS without spaces and by alphabetical order. Because my English is not good enough, I attached a file with what I need.
I'm looking to return in cell BG2, the highest alphanumeric value from 10 non consecutive cells (highlighted yellow). When I use the MAX function it works fine should I only have numbers in the 10 cells, but the values in the cells very from 1A to 5Z [all instances of these values are shown in a table on sheet2 with their 'scoring']

I would like to return the highest sku for each of the 4 letters. For example, Excel should look up column A and return "A3500" in Range(D4) as seen in the attached image.
I am trying to Lookup a country to see if it is classified as a "Developed Country".
My formula would be in cell AA4. I want to see if the country in cell B4 is on a list of developed country's on another worksheet. IF the country is found on that list cell AA4 displays Developed. If the country is not on the list, cell AA4 displays Emerging.
I have tried an IF statement using the Match function and it does not work.

has to be number between 100000 and 899999 (this I already have) OR a value/text from I100000 to I899999. So it only acceots a vlaue betwwen 100000 and 899999 and it is also ok to have the letter I at the begining.
I need to automatically populate a column with an alphanumeric MFR0001 to MFR9999 and am currently using the formula below to add 1 to the start point (A1)...
A1=MFR0001
Formula in A2 =LEFT(C1,3)&(RIGHT(C1,4)+1)
This works perfectly if I start at MFR1000, but breaks and drops the 000 if I use it on the number I need to start with (MFR0001).
I want to search within cells A4:F25 for "B71 - Brown" and show the number that is in the cell below this text. If there is multiple cells with "B71 - Brown" I would like the cell to show the total.
So for example,If the formula was looking for "B71 - Brown" in the cell it would show 8136. (A13+A21+D25+E17). If i changed it to "Lavender" it would show 2380. (C5)
Also this data is linked from several other sheets and the values i search for will change and will need to update.
(1) I've created a list in A2, which looks up F1:F27. I'd like to place an IF or Vlookup function in B2, that returns the corresponding cell from range G1:G27 based on selection in A2.

I have a range of some 2,000 plus cells that are various numbers in them only. What I want to be able to apply is a macro that will look at the number in a cell and if the result is between a set range, produce a text, eg.
If the number is between 0 - 999 then insert text [url] this is where you go'.
If the number is between 1000 - 1999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
If the number is between 2000 - 2999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
etc.
I have up to 11 ranges of numbers to insert (up to 10000 - 19999).
So the text is the result of the formula.

I have data on two spread sheets which I am trying to cross reference. On the 1st spread sheet I have a list of product codes e.g. 22886, On the 2nd Spread sheet I have a list of product titles which all include product codes within the text e.g. CHRISTMAS FANCY DRESS COSTUME - SANTA SPARKLE OUTFIT 22886 M

The spreadsheet is laid out such that each row represents an employee, and each column is a workday. After the employee's information are three columns labeled P,V, S. I'm trying to generate a formula that when applied to an employee's row, will display a running total of the absent hours based upon personal, vacation, or sick time taken. To strip out the numeric characters on the right, I use the formula RIGHT(CAL, (LEN(CAL)-1)). To Determine which column the data should be summed in, I use the formula LEFT(CAL,1). Blank Cells are permitted, in fact most of the row will be blank. Now that I've figured out how to strip out the alpha from the numeric, how can I get the totals? I apologize for writing "War and Peace," but I wanted to be as concise as possible-

I need to extract just the text from cells which contain both letters and numbers. There can be one or two letters, followed by one, two or three numbers. (For info, these are chemical elements and their masses). So for instance,a cell could contain anything from the following B9, B11, S32, Ca44, Mo100, I129, Th226, U238 etc etc. I know I've seen this done before, but I can't find it now. It also has to be formula based, not using VBA.

You see, I have a column of information requests in an Excel spreadsheet, each of which his tagged with an alphanumeric request number, and I wish to sort and/or perform and min/max function on the request identification. However, each ID has a IDR in front of it - for instance, IDR000452 - and the letters make the system read the contents as text. Does anyone know of a formula I can use to create a new cell which contains only the numerical contents of the above example?

Is it possible to increment / decrement cells using wild characters? I've found myself needing to increment values at different position, for e.g. :
ABC-###-FR05-AB
ABC-222-FR##-AB
C##445-KJ
where I would want to be incrementing # placeholders. It would help if I can give it a start number, and the increment amount (which can be different than 1).
What about possibly extending it a bit more to include two or more place holders at the same time as follows:
ABC##- FR*** (where # would have its own starting number and increment value, and * would have its own).
The formula has to include a range across each row (for each student). The formula has to search for specific text contained in the classnames, and then return the result along the same row.
Below is an example, which I hope saves OK in the thread. If not I'll upload an Excel file:
