Return Values In Range Based Upon Relationship To Maximum Value
I am looking to select two values from a range based upon their relationship to the maximum value. In this specific case I am trying to calculate the Quality factor based upon the frequency response of a transducer. So I need to identify the Maximum impedance and its corresponding frequency. I also need to identify the 3db points either side of the maximum impedance.
The 3db points are found at 2/3rds of the maximum value of the impedance (Impedance Mag in attached spreadsheet). Calculating the first 3db point isn't overly difficult as I just calculate the value for the 3db point and use the MATCH function to find the closest Impedance value and then work out the corresponding frequency from that. I am stumped as to how to calculate the second 3db point (above the Max impedance value). I have attached a spreadsheet with frequency information in column A, the other columns are used to derive the values found in columns M (Impedance Mag) and N.

How Do I Fill In A Cell Based On The Relationship Of The Number Within A Range Of Numbers
This is a spreadsheet for a real estate office. The boss gave me a spreadsheet that he created to give a seller an idea how much money he will walk away with at closing. The spreadsheet includes all of the pertinate numbers but there is one item that he would like to have filled in automatically. When selling a house, you use a title service that charges a fee based on the price of the house. So, for example, If the house sells for $0 to $50,000, then let's say the fee is $112. If the house sells for $50,000 to $60,000, then the fee is $118. If the house sells for $60,000 to $70,000, then the fee is $125, and so on up to 1.5 million. The boss' spreadsheet includes 5 different selling price scenarios, which I guess doesn't matter since you do the first one and the rest follow the same pattern. So how do I automatically fill in a cell based on how one number falls within a range of other numbers? The fee schedule will be within the same spreadsheet, if that matters. Ideally, I think they should be separate files, but this will be used in various locations as different realtors take it home or use it on their laptops.

Return MAXIMUM Based On Criteria
i have a spreadsheet like the following A B C Country Revenue Month 1 UK 10 Jan 2 France 20 Jan 3 US 30 Jan 4 UK 25 Feb 5 US 35 Feb 6 France 5 Jan and so on... So where country = UK, France or US I want to retrieve the MAX revenue from all months and which month it was in. Eg UK max revenue was in Feb of 25. I am not sure how to apply the max formula with criteria. Is there any way to do this?

I have a single column of numerical values that may repeat many times within the column. I require a flexible Formula: Use an Input Cell for the specified and changeable Percentage(s) %. Column may be filtered – so only take into account Visible Filtered Cells. The Formula will calculate and Return the numerical range of values that fall between the specified percentage % (using the Input Cell) e.g.; 70%. The Formula should Return two numeric values: a Start Value and an End Value – NOT necessarily the minimum and maximum per se BUT the MIN and MAX of the values that appear 70% of the time in the column; therefore, taking into account Repeat / Duplicate values. The calculated Results: the two numeric values will be returned to separate cells on a new Sheet.

Maximum And Minimum Formulas Based On Date Range
I have a spreadsheet with two columns - column A contains dates and column B has the corresponding data (always numbers). The data is not uniform (i.e there may be lots of entries in any given day and none over the next few). The data is always sorted in chronological order. I want to set up a summary table to show the min, mean, median, max for each week. I have set up an array to calculate the mean, but I am having trouble working out a good way of gettting the others short of having a set of columns that manually define each cell...for instance =min(b3:b27) or =min(b28:b30).

I have a long list of stock values (col C) arranged in time blocks so; CREATE TABLES LIKE BELOW?B C M N 19:00 50.00 0 47.1 19:00 51.00 0 47.5 19:00 52.00 1 48.3 19:00 51.00 0 47.3 19:10 36.00 0 45.3 (nb time has changed) etc I need a routine that takes the following action; When the value 1 occurs in col M row .. (it will only occur once in each time block) and N1 on the same row has the highest value [ 1 and 48.3 above] put 1 in column O on the same row else a 0. If 1 occurs in column N (time block X) and the value in N is not the highest then store a 0. This needs to be done for each time block. It feels like this can probably done by an If or vlookup type of routine but I can't come up with one that works across blocks of times.

Function To Sort A Range By The Values In A Specific Column And Return The Range
I was just recently forced to create my first UDF and after how well it worked I now am very interested in learning more. I am trying to create a function to sort a range by the values in a specific column and return the range. I know this should be really simple but for some reason my code dies whenever it gets to my inner-most loop. I need to use this in a larger function but for now this is my only question. I did find that Excel 2007 has built in Functions for this but my company still uses 2003. Forcing Cells To ALWAYS Find MIN And MAXIMUM Values From A Specific Range Of Cells
I'm working on a project for my company. We make plastic tanks and for quality control we want to start recording the thickness of the tanks in different areas/zones of each tank. Attached to this message is an Excel sheet that I've been working on. From "Sheet 1", it records inputted thicknesses into WorkSheet "1098". On the top of "1098", it shows all of the recordings, and just below that are the "10 Most Recent Entries". Right below the "10 Most Recent Entries", there are formulas to calculate the Min and Max Values. Whenever a new entry is recorded, the selected cells for the Min and Max formulas change. Is there a way to force the cells to always stay the same?

I have the following formula: =IF(C319<=300,9,IF(AND(C319>300,C319<500,6.75),IF(C319>500,6))) It returns 9 if C319<=300 but returns FALSE for all other numbers. I want the funtion to return 9 If <=300 and 6.75 if C319 is greater than 300 but <=500 and if it greater than 500 it should return 6.

Formula/Function To Return Multiple Values Based On Criteria
I would like to be able to use the Vlookup function to return more then one value as a result of the criteria. I have a cloumn of dates that populates the X axis of a gantt chart with data whilst the Y axis will be populated by a site reference resulting in a program of work, the Y axis data is the result of a vlookup function. My difficulty arises however with multiple sites, for instance where two or three sites will be visited on the same day. The vlookup function will only return the first value it finds in a range to the formulated cell. The result being a missing site(s) from the gantt chart / work program. is it possible to return all values to a cell i.e. site1, site2, site3. using a vlookup or do i need to use another method of doing this?

Search And Return Values In A Range Group
I have a workbook that has rows of data starting at A5:G5 seperated in groups of 25 rows. Example: A5 is numbered 1 and A6 is 2 A7 is 3 and so on to 25 then skip a row and start numbering again to 25. What this is for is employees are placed in groups of 25 to be eligible for an award for safety. What I want to do is Range G5:G650 is to be a place where an "X" is placed beside an employee who has had an accident then Range H5:H650 would return "Employee had an accident" I already have this part working. Then I want to code a subroutine that would search for the "X's" and return the entire row data for each name in that group of 25 on a seperate worksheet. This would then be printed so we would know which group's to exclude. I know how to make it return the row of data containing the "X" but how can I make it grab the entire group? There will be multiple groups of 25 each and each time an "X" is found within a group create a new worksheet for that group. 650 employees / 25 = 26 groups

SUM Of Values In 1 Range Based On Specific Criteria In Another Range
I am tracking total man hours of contractors in columns of different rates applicable. At present I have structured my worksheet with the different rates across and days going down. As I am invoiced for a period of work I will log the invoice ref number in a separate field. I would like to sum totals to report against $ Invoiced and $ Committed (i,e worked but not actually invoiced against yet). Here is an example of what I am trying to achieve. The Actual showing sum mhrs * rate only for the mhrs entries with an invoice in corresponding Invoice Ref Column. The Committed producing sum of all mhrs * rate [which I am using =(SUM(D9:D37)*D7)] regardless of what is in invoice ref column. This way I can hopefully track what we have been billed and also what we can expect to have to budget for to cover what has been worked but not billed against.

Return Text Based On Number Range
I have a range of some 2,000 plus cells that are various numbers in them only. What I want to be able to apply is a macro that will look at the number in a cell and if the result is between a set range, produce a text, eg. If the number is between 0 - 999 then insert text [url] this is where you go'. If the number is between 1000 - 1999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2' If the number is between 2000 - 2999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2' etc. I have up to 11 ranges of numbers to insert (up to 10000 - 19999). So the text is the result of the formula.

Return Value Based On Cell Being Within Numeric Range
I have a spreadsheet that has (amongst other things) 2 charts based on dynamic data with ranges that redraw using vb... The charts will draw envelopes that correspond to an aircraft's moment or c of g envelope - there will typically be 2 envelopes drawn, "normal" and "utility" or "aerobatic". Plotted on the charts are an aircraft's takeoff and landing weights and moment/C of G. I'd like to be able to use a formula or VB to determine which envelope takeoff/landing information falls in (or if it falls outside all envelopes). This data would then be used to generate an error message/possibly also in conditional formatting, etc.

MAXIMUM Function Limit: Return A Value?
What I'm trying to do is get the MAX function to return a value, but that value needs to come before the values reach zero. It's a cubic equation that basically starts, at the beginning of the data range, under 10 then hits zero and ends up near 30 at the end of the data range. The end data range max doesn't matter to me if the data range hits zero along the way. Is there any way to make the MAX function stop at a certain value, or is there another function that could accomplish what I'm trying to do?

I test to see which column has the maximum value in each row and allocate the result with the column's heading. Sometimes, two or more columns have the same max value. I have two columns of numbers in column A & B. In column A I am trying to locate the maximum value and get the cell address of the number next to it in column B. I am currently using this formula to do this ..... =ADDRESS(MATCH(MAX(A1:A4),A1:A4),2,4) It works ok, but if the maximum number is the first value in the column it is returning the last cell address in column B. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Return Range Address Across Different Columns Based On Conditions
I am trying to return a cell address range based on values in different columns. Attached is an example. In Column A1 I have "Range" and below that a set of numbers from 1 to 31. In Column B1 the name "Test" is used as an identifier, below that are the letters "a" though to "e". Once the letter "e" is reached the identifier "Test" is moved to column C "C6" and the alphabet continues from "f" down to "j". This process is repeated through the rest of the alphabet and the identifier moved to the next column after every 5th letter. What I want to do is as follows:- I would like to know the cell addresses of all instances of "test" from Column A numbers 6 throught to 24. The result should be C7:C12, D14:18 & D20:24. The results should ignore all instances of the identifier "test" and only return the cells which contain the letters of the alphabet. I have tried using Vlookup which works well if the letters are all in the same column and I have incorporated the Address and Match formulas to return the range if all the alphabets are in the same column, but I do not know how to do this if the identifier "test" and letters move to a differnt column.

Return Data Corresponding To Minimum & Maximum
Please see attached file which is data for horse races (this is a small example of the data i will be working with). I need to find the largest values from the MIN and MAX column (shaded Grey) range for each race. I want to be able to add a function that will allow me to quickly identify which horse has the largest number in both the MIN & MAX columns example on spreadsheet is highlighted RED. It would be handy if it would inform me if the criteria has been met by highlighting it or by placing some text value in an adjacent cell on my spreadsheet i have used the example "Y". It would also be beneficial if that race be deleted in its entirity if there are no horses which meet the criteria above or similary if all other selections within that race be deleted if ther is a horse which meets the criteria. If there is a selection within that race i will need to keep the row that includes the heading which is coloured blue on the attachment. I will be working with 20,000 or more selections at a time so it is important that they can be identified quickly for ease of use. I have tried the functions i know such as MAX and LARGE but this requires me to do alot of work when you consider the ammount of data i'm required to work with.

I have a workbook with two spreadsheets in it. On the second sheet there is a large table, which column headings are months and years (e.g. Jun-07 Jul-07, Aug-07, Sep-07....). Lookup Maximum & Minimum. Return Corresponding Row
I have searched your forums and thought I had found a sufficient answer but could not get the vba to work. So any help is greatly appreciated. I have, on one sheet, a list of incumbent employees that includes the following columns: Job Title [text] and Salary [number]. Clear Contents Of Range Based Upon Values
There is data(numerical) or blanks in each of the cells in the range H32:O37 I want to clear the contents if they are a duplicate of the previous line. Looking for a macro hopefully. Assign Range Name Based On Cell Values
In my workbook sheet 11 has some ranges that need to have names based on cell values in sheet2 (for purposes of data validation lists). Range S28:S46 will assume the name of sheet2A11 & sheet2A3. (example name period_1unit_1) Range U28:U46 will assume the name of sheet2A11 & sheet2A4. Range W28:W46 will assume the name of sheet2A11 & sheet2A5 Right now I am calling the code when something is entered into A11. I have tried if statement and select case, but I ran into complications with both. I have posted both codes with the questions I have concerning those codes.

Extract Top X Maximum Values
How can I extract a list of the top five maximum values from a range of cells. This is similar to using the the "top ten list" in the Auto Filter but I don't want to filter my data in place. Instead I want to extract a list sorted in descending order along with desciption data located in adjacent columns for each maximum value. Finding Maximum Value While Excluding Some Values
I have a row of data with the cells I want to find a MAX for are separated from each other: a1=300 d1=500 g1=800 j1=10,000 I want to find the MAX value for a1,d1,g1,j1, but exclude any value over 1000. So instead of =MAX(a1,d1,g1,j1) returning 10,000, =???(???) will return the next highest max of 800.

Conditional Format MAXIMUM Values
Is it possible to apply a Conditional Format to the MAX Value in each Column and color the appropriate Name in ONE SHOT !? What I mean is - selecting range A2:D9 and applying a C.F. Conditional Sum Based On Values Existing In Range
My problem may seem similar to "conditional sumif", but I could not solve it with that approach. The examples of sumif or sumproduct always use E2:E25="Low" notation, in my case I need a range on the right hand side of that comparison. I have several brands which belong to some producers. I have a range "RangeOne" and i want to check the range row by row. In each row I want to check for value in second cell. If the value is 10 or more then the entire row in the range should be selected and then execute a macro. If the value is 0 to 10(but not 10 exactly) then the row in the range should be selected and then execute macro2.
